They wanted them to keep me off audits of IRS for as long as possible which they did. However, in 1986, the GAO manager who had arranged for my transfer was finally able to and did assign me to audits of IRS and to promote me to GS-13. But in 1987, they forced him to retire, and in 1989, they threw me off audits of IRS forever, gave me an very bad job assignment, gave me very unfair performance expectations, gave me a very unfair performance appraisal, and ranked me at the bottom of my coworkers for pay-for-performance (PFP) purposes. They never again assigned me to audits of IRS, they always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for PFP purposes, and they forced me to retire in 1997 even though I had earned job-related professional certifications in 1990, 1994, 1996, and 1997 and a job-related master’s degree in 1997. I should write a book about the aforesaid.)
