I served on the IRP State Convention Platform and Resolution Committee in 2008. Sadly, my requests to be appointed to serve on those committees again in 2012, 2016, and 2020 were not granted. Of course, I have asked to be appointed to serve on the 2024 IRP State Convention Platform and Resolution Committee.
Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party exists to defend and advance conservative principles.
In my opinion, the next IRP platform should more strongly promote the following:
— Personal responsibility,
— Traditional marriage and family,
— Right to life,
— Enforcement of immigration laws,
— Discouragement of vices,
— Second Amendment rights, and
— Equal opportunity, that is, no race or gender based preference giving.
Republican elected officials should promote the aforesaid.
In my opinion, the next IRP platform should more strongly oppose the promotion of the following:
— Dependency on government and charity,
— LGBTQ,
— Abortion,
— Mass/illegal immigration,
— Booze, gambling, pot, and other vices,
— Diminishment of Second Amendment rights, and
— DEI, that is, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination.
Republican elected officials should oppose promotion of the aforesaid.
