BELLEVILLE NEWS DEMOCRAT
— OUTSTANDING: Activist voices opposition to legal Illinois marijuana sales – AP
https://www.bnd.com/news/state/illinois/article222349210.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: An opponent to legal marijuana in Illinois says it will allow white corporate exploitation of minority customers. Chicago activist the Rev. Gregory Seal Livingston on Wednesday called the effort to take over a lucrative illegal market “a gangsta move worthy of Al Capone.” He added “profit is the motive,” in legalizing the drug. Illinois has already decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana. Livingston was joined in voicing opposition to legal marijuana sales by members of Healthy and Productive Illinois. That is a group that opposes legalization and is supported by Smart Approaches to Marijuana, a national anti-cannabis organization. Gov. Bruce Rauner signed legislation this summer that expands medical marijuana use to people prescribed opioids. The move increased the number of medical marijuana users by more than 46,000 patients. Democrat governor-elect J.B. Pritzker has said he hopes to legalize cannabis soon after he takes office.)

COOK COUNTY RECORD
— Federal appeals judges: ‘Politics in politics’ did not violate rights of GOP state senator Sam McCann who challenged Rauner – Scott Holland (DIERSEN: Politics is politics. To demonize me, to denigrate me, and to condemn me, my critics/opponents stress that those who dominate the Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) a) have never asked me to serve as a chairman of a MTRCC committee, b) rudely fired me as MTRCC’s webmaster in 2010 and 2004, c) crushed me when I ran for the open MTRCC Treasurer position in 2004, and d) fail/refuse to promote my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails and my fundraising for Republican sponsorship of Wheaton’s Independence Day Parades. They further stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee, American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member, GAO employee, etc. They stress that virtually all MTRCC members side with them against me. Those who dominate the MTRCC a) reject planks in the Republican Party platform and/or the Illinois Republican Party platform and work against those like me who support those planks, b) reject the MTRCC resolution against video gambling and work against those like me who support that resolution, c) focus on destroying those like me who they cannot manipulate/dominate, d) were defendants in lawsuits that I have filed, and/or e) are operatives or dupes for the aforesaid. I should write a book about past and present MTRCC members who have worked much harder against me than they have ever worked against any Democrat.)

ILLINOIS POLICY INSTITUTE
— ILLINOIS PASSES STATE LAW GIVING PENSION BOOST TO ONE CHICAGO ALDERMAN – Vincent Caruso (DIERSEN: My Democrat GAO superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates were furious that when I transferred from IRS to GAO in 1980 when I was 31 years old, I brought with me almost 12 years of Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) credit – almost 9 years that worked for IRS 1971-1980 and almost 3 years that I worked for the Post Office 1966-1969. They were beyond furious that while I worked for the Post Office part-time, I earned full-time CSRS credit. The aforesaid made me eligible for GAO’s $25,000 buyout and early retirement offer in 1993 when I was 45 years old. Overwhelmingly, those who GAO hires have no job-related work experience, let alone experience working for other federal agencies. GAO audits IRS and the Post Office.)
https://www.illinoispolicy.org/illinois-passes-state-law-giving-pension-boost-to-one-chicago-alderman/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: State lawmakers overrode Gov. Rauner’s veto of a bill that allows one former firefighter serving as a Chicago alderman to credit his political salary toward a more lucrative fire pension. The pension boost will also apply to future aldermen with a history of fire department work.)

BREITBART
— OUTRAGEOUS: GOP’s H-2B Expansion Gives Business Unlimited Supply of Foreign Workers – John Binder (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, employers make it clear that they want cheap labor, that is, that they want foreign labor.)
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/11/28/gops-h-2b-expansion-gives-business-unlimited-supply-of-foreign-workers/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Republican lawmakers are looking to slip the more than doubling of the H-2B visa program into a last-second spending bill that is expected to be passed before the new year. In total, there are roughly 1.5 million foreign workers in U.S. college-graduate jobs, plus at least 300,000 blue-collar or manual labor jobs. Meanwhile, there are five million Americans who are not in the labor force who want a job with more than 500,000 Americans saying they are discouraged by their job prospects. Every year, America’s working and middle class have their wages reduced by an inflow of more than 1.5 million mostly low-skilled foreign workers who are admitted to the country. This importation of illegal and legal foreign workers has left the country’s bottom line of workers with stagnant wages since the 1970s and forces them to compete with foreign workers for blue-collar jobs.)

CBS NEWS
— Required Minimum Distribution (RMD): An IRS rule that can aid your retirement income strategy – STEVE VERNON (DIERSEN: Every year, the purchasing power of my Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension and my Social Security (SS) drops. Next year, my RMD will help offset that. Why is your retirement income lower or will it be lower? For me, it is the success that my Democrat superiors in the federal government had in wasting my career and forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old. Every year, as the purchasing power of my CSRS, SS, and RMD drops, the more angry that I am a) against my Democrat superiors and b) against those who side with my Democrat superiors.)

— 2019 Corvette ZR1: The Last, and Best, of Its Kind Chevy’s Corvette is being redesigned next year with a mid-engine configuration to keep up with its competition. That’s a pity, says Dan Neil. because this year’s front-engine ZR1 is the most dynamic ’Vette yet – Dan Neil (DIERSEN: I own a 1972. Per Wikipedia “1972 was the last year for chrome bumpers at both front and rear, the vacuum actuated pop-up windshield wiper door, as well as the removable rear window common to all 1968-72 coupes. The key activated anti-theft alarm system became standard. The increasingly popular choice of an automatic transmission was installed in most Corvettes for the first time, with nearly 54 percent so equipped. This year SAE net measurement for horsepower was now utilized (away from the previous SAE gross standard), and was largely responsible for the much lower engine output figures such as the 200 hp (149 kW) rating on the standard 350 cu in (5.7 L) motor.”)
https://www.wsj.com/articles/2019-corvette-zr1-the-last-and-best-of-its-kind-1543428205
(FROM THE ARTICLE: MY BROTHER-IN-LAW recently acquired his dad’s well-preserved 1982 Chevrolet Corvette, which he drove to Thanksgiving dinner. It being a holiday, we even let him park it in the driveway. The ’82 Corvette—the last of the third-generation (C3) design—is perhaps the least-loved model-year of all, due to the fact that these wildly fast-looking cars were so shockingly slow and underpowered. Trapped inside that wasp-waisted fiberglass bod is a 5.7-liter V8 wheezing out a mere 200 hp due to its crude emissions-control plumbing. The 1982 Corvette is that zoologically unlikely thing, a sexy slug.)
