Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative.
Questions to ask those who are running for offices on the March 19, 2024 Republican primary ballot in your precinct:
What have you done and what will you do if elected to defend and advance the following planks in the Republican Party platform:
– Individual responsibility, – Traditional marriage and family, – Right to life, – Immigration, – Illegal drugs, – Second Amendment, and – equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving)?
What have you done and what will you do if elected to discourage the promotion of:
– Dependency on government and charity, – LGBTQ, – Abortion, – Mass/illegal immigration, – Booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, – Diminishment of Second Amendment rights, and – Patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination?

According to my critics/opponents, degrees from non-Ivy League colleges are worthless, that is, my degrees from NIU, Loyola, DePaul, and IIT are worthless. To provide just one example, a University of Chicago MBA holder who was my superior during my last 8 years at GAO and my immediate supervisor during my last 4 years specifically and overtly treated my master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT was worthless. She headed the office’s group that audited federal financial industry regulators. While I had master’s degrees in business and accounting, I had passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt, and I was a licensed CPA, she stressed that I had taken relatively few courses in finance. Because of that, I started taking graduate evening courses in finance at IIT in 1992, and after completing 16 courses, earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading IIT in 1997. Even though all the courses were directly job-related and I had gotten her appointed to serve on the program’s board of advisers, she treated those courses as being worthless. Further, in September of 1997, she took the lead in successfully forcing me to take GAO’s early retirement “offer” and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate who had shunned the program. Hyde, a giant of a man at 6-foot-3, 280 pounds, with a shock of white hair, still moved with grace from his Georgetown basketball days. In the 1943 NCAA semifinals, he outplayed DePaul’s 6-foot-10 All-American George Mikan. Hyde argued that multiple terms help elected officials gain institutional knowledge and build relationships needed to be effective in passing legislation. The C-SPAN cameras caught me listening on the floor of the House with a bemused look when he said, “When the dentist bends down over you with the drill whirring, don’t you hope he has done that before? When the neurosurgeon has shaved your head and made the pencil mark on your skull where they’re going to have the incision and he approaches with the electric saw, ask him one question: ‘Are you a careerist?’” Laughter filled the chamber. . .Henry Hyde would say, “just vote the mentally incompetent out!” But this is easier said than done as evidenced by aged politicians who get reelected time and again in safe districts or heavily red or blue states. The voters should at least know if elderly candidates have passed minimal physical and mental competency tests. Hyde died of complications from open heart surgery at the age of 81. His surgeon was probably one of the best, but I wonder if, as his heart surgeon approached with the scalpel, he would have been better served by asking, “Have you passed your competency tests?” instead of, “Are you a careerist?”)

Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said he still considers himself a Republican, but only because “I don’t want to give up on that fight.” He told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Monday, “This country needs two healthy parties: a healthy Democratic party and a healthy Republican. So I’m not going to give up that title.” He said he had voted Democratic in the 2022 midterms and would do the same in 2024 if it’s a Donald Trump-Joe Biden matchup. “I really believe it’s down to one issue on the ballot,” he said. “Not taxes, not even abortion, nothing. The one issue is: Do you believe in democracy, or do you believe in authoritarianism?” Kinzinger told the Washington Post last year that he voted for Donald Trump in 2020, but he felt “dirty” doing it, and “it’s not something I can square away in my soul fully.” Kinzinger was one of the most prominent critics of the former president in the House Republican conference before he retired from Congress earlier this year. He was one of two Republicans who served on the Jan. 6 committee, and one of ten who voted to impeach Trump for his role in the insurrection. “There’s little to no desire to bridge our differences, and unity is no longer a word we use,” Kinzinger said in 2021 when he announced he would not run for reelection. “It has also become increasingly obvious that in order to break the narrative, I cannot focus on both a reelection to Congress and a broader fight nationwide.”)
Chicago Democrat leaders ever-increasingly promote more and more and more illegal immigration. Illegal immigration harms those who are poor the most. In Chicago, those who are poor are overwhelmingly Democrats who are minority, female, younger, lack education, lack job skills, and/or have health problems. Illegals drive wages down because they work for less money than citizens of America. Employers want illegals because employers want cheap labor.

The determination of Democrats to get the guns out of the hands of law-abiding Americans was once again the order of the day on Thursday following the horrific events in Lewiston, Maine where a disturbed gunman opened fire at a restaurant and a bowling alley, killing at least 18 people and wounding many more in a bloody rampage from the front lines of America’s mental health crisis. The alleged shooter who, according to law enforcement, is a certified firearms instructor and a member of the US Army Reserves, is reportedly a man with issues so serious that was he hearing voices, recently underwent a mental health evaluation for erratic behavior, and was on the radar as being potentially violent. Beyond being Jewish, they did not want to supervise, work with, or work for her because she put them to shame because she had earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and she had passed the CPA examination on her first attempt.
