(FROM THE ARTICLE: Now, Walsh faces the potentially difficult task of building a campaign in the short few months before the election. She will run against Mary Edly-Allen, a teacher from Libertyville, in the race to represent a central and southern Lake County district in the state legislature. Lake County Republican Party Chairman Mark Shaw said he voted for Walsh because he thinks she will be a good lawmaker and able to set up a campaign in a hurry. “I know how tenacious she can be and how hard a worker she can be,” Shaw said. Shaw said Walsh was picked from about 20 contenders to replace Sauer.)

https://www.dailyherald.com/business/20180819/ceo-pay-jumps-to-19m-annually-as-fears-mount-over-the-wealthy-pocketing-gains
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The top executives of America’s biggest companies saw their average annual pay surge to $18.9 million in 2017, according to a report released Thursday, fueling concerns about the gulf between the nation’s richest and everyone else. The dramatic 18 percent jump in chief executive pay came as wages for American workers remained essentially flat, pushing the gap between executive compensation and employee pay to its highest point in about a decade. The rise in executive pay shown in the report by the Economic Policy Institute, a left-leaning think tank, is driven largely by the big increases in the stock market over the past year. The bulk of CEO compensation is made up of stock grants or stock options, which can lead to substantial paydays for CEOs when companies perform well in the market. The Standard & Poor’s stock market index jumped 14.5 percent in value from 2016 to 2017 when adjusting for inflation, EPI said. From 2009 to 2017, average pay for the nation’s CEOs jumped by $7.8 million, or by 72 percent, according to the report. Over that period, the average wages and benefits for a typical American worker rose from $53,400 to $54,600, or by about 2 percent, the report said. “It speaks to the degree the economic recovery is unbalanced,” said Larry Mishel, an economist who has tracked the CEO-worker pay ratio for two decades and co-authored the report with Jessica Schieder.)

https://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/computers/item/29814-trump-slams-social-media-censorship-of-conservatives-files-discrimination-complaint-against-facebook
(FROM THE ARTICLE: “Social Media is totally discriminating against Republican/Conservative voices,” and “the Trump Administration … won’t let that happen.” So wrote President Trump on Twitter Saturday, in a shot across the bow of increasingly Orwellian social-media companies. This comes on the heels of a Friday discrimination complaint the administration filed against Facebook alleging that “the way the company targets ads can be used to screen out people based on race, sex or other protected categories,” reports the Washington Times. While the latter complaint doesn’t relate to the censorship issue, it perhaps does signal the Trump administration’s determination to deal with social-media sleight-of-hand. As for its substance, the Times explains: The complaint goes to the heart of Facebook’s business model, which depends on being able to offer advertisers micro-targeting. “Facebook mines extensive user data and classifies its users based on protected characteristics. Facebook’s ad targeting tools then invite advertisers to express unlawful preferences by suggesting discriminatory options,” the Housing and Urban Development Department said in the complaint. Among those options are physical disabilities, parents with children and even religious practices — advertisers are allowed to show their ads only to people Facebook deems interested in “Jesus” or the “Christian Church,” for example.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Transferring between federal agencies – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com

(THE ARTICLE: In 1980, when I was 31 years old, I took a $19,203 (26%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO – a downgrade from GS-12 Step 5 (currently $91,880) to GS-9 Step 10 (currently $72,677). According to the Office of Personnel Management, 77% of current federal employees have worked for only one agency, 15% have worked for two agencies, and only 8% have worked for three or more agencies. I worked for the Post Office 1966-1969, for IRS 1971-1980, and for GAO 1980-1997. I should write a book about transferring between federal agencies.

GAO audits IRS. In 1980, when I was 31 years old, my Democrat GAO superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates vehemently opposed my transferring from IRS to GAO. Instead of my taking a $19,203/year (26%) pay cut in today’s dollars, they wanted me to transfer in as an intern and take a $58,902/year (64%) pay cut in today’s dollars (a downgrade from GS-12 Step 5 to GS-4 Step 1). To justify that, they viciously demonized, viciously denigrated, and viciously condemned a) the knowledge of IRS that I had gained by working for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880; b) my having passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979; c) my having almost completed the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul; d) my having earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976; and e) the fact that much of what GAO Analysts do is similar to what IRS Revenue Officers do.

They hinted/implied/argued that IRS should NOT have a) hired me in 1971, b) promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, or c) let me work there for almost 9 years. They hinted/implied/argued that the Post Office should NOT have a) hired me in 1966 or b) let me work there for almost 3 years. They were disgusted, outraged, and beyond furious that I transferred in with almost 12 years of federal seniority, 30 unused vacation days, and more than 100 unused sick days. They hinted/implied/argued/shouted that legislative branch employees were far superior to executive branch employees. They stressed that I had been a union member while I worked for the Post Office and for IRS and that I had filed grievances.

To turn everyone at GAO against me, they stressed to GAO employees a) who were Democrats, that I was a Republican, b) who were liberal or moderate, that I was conservative, c) who were non-Protestant, that I was a Missouri Synod Lutheran, d) who had less money than my wife and I had, that my wife and I had more money than they did, e) who were non-German American, that I was 100% German American, f) who had ancestors who had not been in America for a long time, that my ancestors had been in America since 1844, and g) who were veterans, that I was a draft avoider. They would not have done any of the aforesaid if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, or a veteran.

Have you worked in toxic workplaces? Soon after I transferred from IRS to GAO in 1980 when I was 31 years old, I learned how toxic its Chicago office was for those who shared my demographics. Nevertheless, I counted on the GAO manager who had arranged for my transfer a) to protect me from political affiliation discrimination, from reverse discrimination, and from age discrimination, b) to get me assigned to audits of IRS, c) to get me promoted to GS-11 Step 10 (currently $87,933), to GS-12 Step 5 (currently $91,880), to GS-13 Step 1 (currently $96,403), etc. However, ever-increasingly, the Democrats who ran the office did everything that they could to get rid of him. Nevertheless, in 1986, he succeeded a) in getting me assigned to audits of IRS and b) in promoting me to GS-13 Step 1 (currently $96,403). However, the Democrats succeeded a) in getting rid of him in 1987, b) in throwing me off audits of IRS in 1989, c) in keeping me off audits of IRS for the rest of my GAO career, d) in giving me unfair performance expectations and unfair performance appraisals, e) in always ranking me the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, and f) in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old.)

I worked for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880. (FROM THE ARTICLE: I’m terrible with cars. I mean, can’t-so-much-as-change-a-spark-plug terrible. May I tune yours up for you? I’m bad in the kitchen, too. Eggs and toast are pretty much my whole repertoire, and I tend to burn the toast. Want me to cater your next event? You’d probably rather call a chef, or a mechanic. Expertise matters. Except when it comes to filling the top leadership posts in our democracy. Then, it seems, we’re ready to take a chance on those who have never led so much as a school board meeting. How often have you heard a candidate for governor, senator, even president boast that his or her complete lack of lower-rung political experience is a shimmering plus rather than a glaring minus? And how does that usually work out? Think about disgraced ex-Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens. Think about our current chaos president. Why do we imagine that high political leadership is the one job best left to the amateurs? Picture your dentist using that logic: I’ve never actually worked on teeth before. I’m proud to be an “outsider.” Open wide! That’s basically what’s unfolding right now in Illinois. For the second consecutive election, voters in the Land of Lincoln this November will choose a mega-wealthy governor who has never held any lower political office, and who only got to this one with a massive boost from his personal checkbook. We know this will be true regardless of the election result, because it’s a description that fits both of the major-party candidates. Sure, incumbent Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner can claim four years of on-the-job training, but given his performance during that time, it’s not much of a claim. He had never held any political office before buying into his first gubernatorial term in 2014 with $27.6 million from his own pocket. A venture capitalist, what he brought with him from that world were boardroom skills that you can’t say have been unproductive in office — because they’ve been counterproductive in office. As for Hyatt Hotels heir and Democratic nominee J.B. Pritzker, it seems his primary qualification for governor, and the main reason his party handed him the nomination over more experienced Democrats, is the 10-figure fortune he was born into and his willingness to use it. Rauner is worth nine figures, and Democrats decided to fight fire with more fire. Business people with no political experience who run for high office invariably argue that their business skills are not just an adequate substitute for political skills, but are better. This has never made sense. The goals, rules and responsibilities of business are completely different from those of politics. Rauner’s first term has been a textbook illustration of those differences.)

LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
— Civil Service Opportunity School – Ben Woodward (DIERSEN: The subject line for the email that transmitted this is “The federal government is hiring conservatives.” I should conduct a similar “Civil Service Opportunity School” in Chicago. Despite my Democrat superiors’ best efforts to waste my career and to get rid of me, despite their getting rid of my first mentor in 1975, despite their getting rid of my second mentor in 1987, and despite my becoming an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation in 1988, I nevertheless survived a) for almost 3 years working part-time for the Post Office 1966-1969, b) for almost 9 years working for IRS 1971-1980, and c) for almost 18 years working for GAO 1980-1997. Further, IRS promoted me to GS-9 (currently $55,905) in 1972, to GS-11 (currently $67,638) in 1973, and to GS-12 (currently $81,071) in 1974 and GAO promoted me to GS-13 (currently $96,403) in 1986. In today’s dollars, my ending salary was $125,325.  I have not heard that Trump has disavowed “up-or-out,” so federal employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran should still expect to be gotten rid of if they do not make GS-13 (currently $96,403) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $113,920) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $134,000) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200) by age 40. Extremely few federal employees get promoted that fast. Of course, prospective federal employees should be advised that virtually everyone despises if not hates federal employees, former federal employees, and federal retirees.)

— Companies Need To Know The Dollar Cost Of Employee Turnover – Bill Conerly (DIERSEN: I should write a book about the millions of taxpayer dollars that the Democrats who run the federal government wasted to get rid of me. When the Democrats who ran the Post Office succeeded in forcing me to resign in 1969 when I was 20 years old, they wasted all the training that the Post Office had invested in me. When the Democrats who run IRS refused to promote me beyond GS-12, they a) wasted all the training that IRS had invested in me and b) wasted what I had learned earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976, taking graduate accounting courses at DePaul 1976-1980, and passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979. When the Democrats who ran GAO refused to assign me to audits of IRS 1980-1985, and then after 1988, they wasted what I had learned working for IRS for almost 9 years. When the Democrats who ran GAO refused to promote me beyond GS-13 and forced me to retire in 1997, they a) wasted all the training that GAO had invested in me and b) wasted what I had learned earning a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, passing the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, and earning a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT in 1997.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: As you can see, in its ongoing efforts to wrangle cable news invites, TWS is adopting the exact same Orwellian language we hear from the book burners in the establishment media and from Social Justice Warriors–buzzwords like “healthy” and “optimal” and “be better.” This is the language of censors, of those who purge heretics for wrongthink under the guise of doing what is best for “the community.” You see, they are the ones who know what opinions and ideas we should and should not have access to — for our own good. Jonathan Last’s piece is also peppered with the non-argument that private companies should be allowed to set their own “standards,” even though no one is calling on these monster-sized companies not to have standards.)

https://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2018/08/10/pollak-cnn-wants-white-children-to-see-race-not-to-be-kind-to-everyone/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: CNN published an op-ed on Thursday that advises the parents of white children to begin educating them to notice racial differences at an early age — “constantly going out of our way to name differences” — rather than teaching them simply to “be kind to everyone.” Parents of white children must also bring them to social spaces “where they aren’t in the overwhelming racial majority,” and teach them about “more people of color freedom fighters than the few they hear about at school” to encourage “antiracist behaviors.” That is just some of the advice from Drake University professor Jennifer Harvey in an article titled, “Raising white kids to be racially sensitive — and proactive.” The obvious implication is that white children have a unique racist burden that others do not. CNN often accuses President Donald Trump of racism and of dividing Americans by race, often on the basis of its own imaginings, such as the (false) claim he only refers to black people, e.g. LeBron James, as “dumb.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Conservative outside groups are already getting behind Jordan. Leaders of these organizations say he is dedicated to upholding Trump’s agenda and would help rally the base in the upcoming midterms. Some have even planned ad campaigns to help elect Jordan as speaker. “This is of course about base and turnout, and you left some big tickets from the Trump agenda on the cutting room floor,” said Adam Brandon, president of the conservative group FreedomWorks, naming Obamacare repeal and immigration reform as the top items. “Jim Jordan has credibility with the base on all of those issues.” He added that it’s unlikely Trump will make an endorsement in the race. “I actually think that President Trump will work with whoever is speaker. I would advise him to stay out of it right now,” Brandon said. Another conservative leader said that while it’s unclear whom the president will endorse, Jordan is more in line with his agenda. “The President has praised Jordan many times. … [L]ike Trump, he wants to accomplish right now what was promised to the American people,” said Brent Bozell, president of ForAmerica, in a statement. Jordan’s path to the speakership will likely be difficult regardless of whether the president weighs in. Ryan has already given McCarthy his support and said that most Republicans see him as the successor. “I think we all believe that Kevin is the right person,” said Ryan in an interview with NBC News in April after he announced his retirement.)

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-aldermen-schedule-fair-workweek-20180807-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The ordinance would require Chicago employers to post work schedules for their employees at least two weeks in advance. Employers would be required to pay their employees for at least one hour extra if the schedule changed or work was added or subtracted. Companies also could face fines of $500 for each employee affected in each pay period if they fail to comply. If employers make changes with 24 hours’ notice or less to on-call workers, the workers would have to be compensated. Companies with hourly employees or salaried workers earning less than $50,000 annually would be affected. That would sweep thousands of Chicago businesses under the new rules, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce says. There’s a lot more heavy-handedness in the 17-page ordinance affecting hiring, part-time workers and flexibility. Before they begin work, for example, new hires must be given in writing the median number of hours they can expect to work and a list of days and times they will not be expected to work.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Controversial Fox News host Laura Ingraham is once again the target of criticism, this time over comments she made about the country’s changing demographic landscape, which she blamed on illegal — and legal — immigration. “Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people, and they are changes that none of us ever voted for, and most of us don’t like,” Ingraham said on The Ingraham Angle on Wednesday night, noting that “it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore.” “From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically, in some ways, the country has changed,” Ingraham continued. “Now, much of this is related to both illegal, and in some cases legal, immigration that, of course, progressives love.”)

SPRINGFIELD STATE JOURNAL REGISTER
— Rauner says AG should prosecute Madigan – Doug Finke
http://www.sj-r.com/news/20180809/rauner-says-ag-should-prosecute-madigan
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Gov. Bruce Rauner Thursday said the state’s attorney general should be prosecuting House Speaker Michael Madigan, although he was vague about what. At a Statehouse bill signing ceremony, Rauner was asked about his comments earlier in the day that Erika Harold will go after the speaker if elected. Harold is the Republican candidate for attorney general. She is facing Democrat Kwame Raoul. “I’m giving her a million dollars which is a lot of money for me,” Rauner said during an interview on a southern Illinois radio station Thursday morning. I need her to win. (Current attorney general) Lisa Madigan has defended the corruption of her dad. Erika Harold will prosecute Madigan and the corruption.” But Rauner couldn’t say what crimes he thinks the speaker has committed. Rauner again complained that Madigan’s law firm does property tax appeals work. Rauner said that is wrong when policies set by the General Assembly can affect property taxes. “He’s on both sides of that,” Rauner said. “It’s corrupt. It’s a fundamental conflict of interest.” However, it is not illegal. Rauner said it should be. Harold spokesman Aaron DeGroot said Harold “will investigate and pursue any allegation of wrongdoing or corruption at any level of government in Illinois as attorney general.” He also said Harold has called for lawmakers to give the office additional authority to crack down on public corruption, such as authority to convene a statewide grand jury and issue subpoenas. Rauner also criticized Lisa Madigan for failing to root out corruption.)

— Socialist Democrat on upper-middle class, soccer moms: That’s not America anymore! (DIERSEN: Would Ocasio-Cortez say that you and your spouse do not exist anymore?
http://www.gopusa.com/?p=52088
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Tuesday that an upper-middle class “with soccer moms with two vans and stuff” no longer exists in America, The Daily Caller reported. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez discussed Democratic strategies and her idea of socialism in America during an interview for “Pod Save America.” “Their heyday was in the ’90s when kids had like Furbies and you had like soccer moms with two vans and stuff,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said. “That’s not America anymore!” The New York Democrat, who unseated long-time incumbent, Rep. Joe Crowley, suggested the older members of her party are out of touch. She said they don’t understand how rising income inequality has shaped the political landscape. During the conversation, the rising Democratic star said her party is not investing in younger candidates. She said that established Democrats are “feverishly working” on their own re-elections, but neglecting to support rising younger campaigns is why Republicans are winning. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez explained that these older representatives relied on a demographic that no longer exists. “A lot of these folk were in their political heyday in third-way ’90s politics,” she said, “I think that like politically this upper-middle class is probably more moderate, but that upper-middle class does not exist anymore in America.”)

EQUIPMENT WORLD
— JULY 23, 2013 FLASHBACK: The corrosive damage ethanol gasoline does to your fuel pump – Tom Jackson (DIERSEN: In my opinion, ethanol did thousands of dollars in damages to my 1972 Chevy Corvette.)
https://www.equipmentworld.com/e-10-alive-the-corrosive-damage-ethanol-gasoline-does-to-your-fuel-pump/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Its a nearly-new fuel pump from a 2003 Harley Davidson with just 11,000 miles on it. How could that much corrosion happen on a motorcycle before it’s third oil change? According to my mechanic it’s ethanol in our gasoline. To understand how this happens you need to know how ethanol affects your fuel system. Ethanol itself is not particularly corrosive. When the oil companies first started blending ethanol in gas, it corroded some rubber and plastic gaskets on some cars and equipment. Manufacturers figured it out and substituted new materials. The unlucky consumers whose equipment was ruined or whose fuel systems had to be replaced just took it on the chin as per usual with most government programs. But that wasn’t the end of it. Ethanol attracts water. When the two get together, they create the perfect environment to grow a type of bacteria called acetobacter. After getting drunk on their EPA-sponsored kegger in your gas tank, the acetobacter excrete acetic acid. And acetic acid is very corrosive. If you’re refilling your gas tank every week or two, acetobacter don’t have time to grow a sufficient size colony to damage metal parts in your fuel system. But if your fuel sits for longer periods of time these microorganisms continue to multiply until your gas tank contains damaging levels of acetic acid.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Security researchers argued that Facebook should have been able to move much faster because there were clear signs that the accounts were part of a coordinated campaign. One of the accounts, called “Resisters” on Facebook and Twitter, billed itself on both platforms as a feminist page that emphasized themes of gender equality and female empowerment – with a clear opposition to President Donald Trump’s agenda. . .But Facebook offered little information to explain why it drew that conclusion – besides that the Resisters group briefly had a known account administrator from the Internet Research Agency. On Twitter, the “resisters” account was spelled as “@resistersunion,” but included the name “resisters” in its profile. Facebook’s equivalent, which organized a June protest outside the headquarters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Washington via its Facebook page, was “Resisters.” The “Resisters” Facebook page had the same profile image as the Twitter account – a red feminist symbol with the letters RS inside it.)

https://www.weeklystandard.com/adam-rubenstein/kid-trump
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has made it his business to ‘own the libs,’ and business is booming. On July 23, hundreds of students gathered at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., for Turning Point USA’s fourth annual High School Leadership Summit. The four-day event was a sequence of workshops on campus activism and student leadership punctuated by speeches by prominent conservatives, from House whip Steve Scalise and Education secretary Betsy DeVos to rabble-rousers like Sebastian Gorka and Anthony Scaramucci. Backstage at TPUSA events you’ll find facsimiles of both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Placed on a table with cellophane overlays, the pages aren’t just symbols—and they aren’t there for reference. TPUSA’s speakers and celebrity guests are asked to sign the documents. Scan the pages and you’ll see the John Hancocks of Ann Coulter, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Donald Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow, ex-Fox News star Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr., and Lara Trump right on top of the Founders’ words. You’ll find the scribbled signatures of Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft, Ohio congressman Jim Jordan, Brexit evangelist Nigel Farage, and the NRA’s Dana Loesch. Ginni Thomas, the wife of Clarence Thomas, wrote “TPUSA ROCKS” above her name. RNC spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany printed a Bible verse below hers and added “MAGA.” The documents are a memento of TPUSA events but also a who’s who of the powerbrokers of conservatism in the age of Trump. Charlie Kirk, TPUSA’s founder, calls himself “the luckiest 24-year-old ever to exist.” He started the group six years ago instead of going to college and now has 130,000 high school students, undergrads, and recent college graduates on board in what he calls the fight “to save Western civilization.” He sees himself as a general in the “culture war” and TPUSA’s members as “culture warriors”—effective “disrupters” of the left on campus and eventually across America. Kirk travels nonstop; he spent more than 300 days last year on the road giving speeches and meeting with donors, students, and politicians. Everywhere he goes he spreads the message that “Big Government Sucks” and “Socialism Sucks.” This fall he’s thinking of selling a T-shirt that says, “Bring Back ISIS, Vote Democrat 2018.”)

http://thehill.com/policy/technology/400010-shadowy-facebook-activities-led-to-real-life-trump-protests
(FROM THE ARTICLE: At least three of the events co-organized on Facebook by a group the company now thinks was part of a coordinated disinformation network appear to have been held, and to have been attended by hundreds of people. The events, in New York City and Springfield, Mo., were all co-hosted on Facebook by a group called the Resisters. All three events were critical of President Trump. . .All three events were hosted by what appear to be legitimate groups in addition to the Resisters. Facebook on Tuesday said “inauthentic” groups, including Resisters, created roughly 30 events. Facebook in a call with reporters highlighted fake pages set up by the groups, but said it had no evidence on whether the events actually took place. There is some evidence that the events set up by Resisters were meant to piggy-back on existing, legitimate events by opponents of Trump. Indivisible St. Louis told The Hill that its Springfield event was already being organized when Resisters contacted them on Facebook. They also said that they did not encounter any representatives from Resisters at the protest.)

It was Mr. Kavanaugh who pressed Mr. Starr to aggressively question Mr. Clinton on the details of his sexual relationship with Ms. Lewinsky and who drafted the section of Mr. Starr’s report to the House that laid out 11 possible grounds for Mr. Clinton’s impeachment. Mr. Kavanaugh’s decision to return to Mr. Starr’s side plunged him into an immersion course in the brutal ways of Washington combat, forever connecting him to an investigation that Democrats called a partisan witch hunt, foreshadowing the epithet that Republicans now use to describe the efforts of the special counsel, Robert S. ALABAMA
— JULY 16, 2018 FLASHBACK: Crossover voting ban: What to know before Tuesday’s primary runoff – Leada Gore (DIERSEN: How many crossover voters, that is, voters who cast Republican primary ballots, but vote for Democrats in general elections, that is, voters who are Democrat plants, Libertarian plants, Green plats, or RINOs, are there in your precinct, in your municipality, in your township/ward, in your county, in Illinois, and in America? I believe there are about 30 in my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 9 in Wheaton and they are well-organized. Of course, they do not display yard signs for Republican candidates in general elections. Far too many of them treat me very rudely.)
https://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2018/07/crossover_voting_ban_what_to_k.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Tuesday’s primary runoff will be another test for Alabama’s crossover voting ban. The Alabama Legislature passed a law in 2017 banning crossover voting. The law specifically prohibits voters from casting a ballot for one party in a primary and then switching to the other party to cast a ballot in the runoff. Simply put: If you voted on the Democratic ballot in the primary, you can only vote in the Democratic runoff. If you voted a Republican ballot in the primary, you can only vote in the Republican runoff. If you didn’t vote in the primary, you are free to cast a ballot in whichever party runoff you choose. No matter what your vote, there are no restrictions on the Nov. 6 general election, where you can choose whichever candidate you prefer. Gov. Kay Ivey signed the crossover voting ban law in 2017. At the time, Sen. Tom Whatley, R-Auburn, said the bill “helps the Democrats choose Democratic candidate” and helps “Republicans choose Republican candidates.” Enforcing the ban In the October special U.S. Senate election to replace Jeff Sessions, Secretary of State John Merrill said his office had identified 674 cases in which people voted in the Democratic primary election on Aug. 15, 2017 and then crossed over to vote in the Republican runoff election on Sept. 26, 2017. I had earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30 (CPA), 32 (Certified Internal Auditor), 41 (Certified Fraud Examiner), 45 (Certified Government Financial Manager), 47 (Certified Financial Services Auditor), and 48 (Forensic Accountant), and c) a job-related professional license (licensed CPA) when I was 32.)
