Are you non-poor? Are you Protestant? Are you German American? https://freebeacon.com/campus/american-high-schools-go-woke/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In July, the leadership of Los Angeles’s elite Harvard-Westlake School issued a 20-page confessional about the school’s role in perpetuating “racism and injustice” and promised changes. The school, which sends dozens of kids to the Ivy League every year, will now teach 11th-grade U.S. history from a “critical race theory perspective.” And diversity consultancies, which routinely charge six figures for their services, will facilitate the school’s transformation at every step. On the East Coast, the wealthy Fairfax County public school district shelled out $20,000 for an hourlong speech from critical-race commentator Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. At one school in the district, faculty went further, disseminating “anti-racist” reading lists to parents and organizing students into “equity” committees. Dozens of schools across the country, both public and private, have taken similar steps. The perceived need to announce sweeping changes in leadership and curricula has been a boon to the growing diversity-consulting industry, which is designed to profit from racial discontent. A list of “anti-racism” resources, compiled just days after the death of George Floyd and featuring such writers as Kendi, Dr. Robin DiAngelo, and the authors of the New York Times‘s controversial 1619 project, was shared widely by colleges and high schools across the country.)

I took college courses 1966-1981 and 1992-1997. (FROM THE ARTICLE: But I was taken by his chapter on higher education. The virus, he points out, “has been especially hard on industries whose customers consume the product sitting shoulder to shoulder, like sports, airlines, restaurants, events—and…universities.” In the case of higher ed, it is hitting a sector already overripe for disruption. College tuition has increased 1,400% in the last four decades, demographics is about to deliver a body blow to demand, online higher education is finally maturing, and the best companies—as I’ve said here before—are working hard to retool their hiring systems to focus more on skills, less on college credentials. A pandemic that shuts down campuses could—and probably should—create a perfect storm.)

— As White Americans Die, Racial Inequality in the US May Get Much Worse – Benjamin Waddell (DIERSEN: How soon, under the Democrats, will Whites be required to publicly disclose a) how much money they have received so far from their parents and b) how much money they anticipate receiving from their parents? How soon, under the Democrats, will laws be passed that redistribute that money not only to minorities, but to women, to younger people, to those who have financial problems, to those who have health problems, to those who have other problems, to veterans, to non-Christians, to non-Protestants, to non-Italian Americans, to non-German Americans, to those whose ancestors have not been America for a long time, to moderates, to liberals, to Democrats, to Libertarians, to Greens, to Independents, to RINOs, to Trump-haters, to illegals, to etc.?)
https://theglobepost.com/2020/11/30/us-racial-inequality-worse/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden will become the 46th president of the United States. In defeating President Donald Trump, Biden promised to heal a divided nation. In his victory speech, the president-elect said, “I sought this office to restore the soul of America. To rebuild the backbone of the nation — the middle class.” Biden’s middle-class vision for the US is possible, but without aggressive investments in education, healthcare, and well-paying jobs, America’s future may well look more like post-apartheid South Africa than the highly developed country it purports to be. How do I know? I followed the money. The United States is in the midst of a massive demographic shift. Since its inception in 1776, the country has been composed of largely white inhabitants with ancestral ties to Northern Europe. Through its first 200 years, the demographic predominance of Anglo-Americans was maintained by encouraging steady waves of European immigration alongside policies that facilitated ethnic cleansing, genocide, and the marginalization of minorities from the social, political, and economic spheres of the middle class. The Civil Rights movement legally ended the most aggressive legal barriers to social mobility for minorities. However, civil rights legislation did little to redistribute the massive wealth disparities between white Americans and everyone else. And without policy intervention, racial inequalities may be on the verge of getting much worse due to the nation’s shifting demographics. A New Dawn? The US is quickly becoming a minority-majority nation. In 1990, 76 percent of the population identified as non-Hispanic white, but by 2018, that number had dropped to 60 percent. And in urban cities, where most young people live, only 44 percent of inhabitants identify as non-Hispanic white. The nation’s demographic shift may signal a new dawn. As white Americans age and pass away, we should expect minority populations to become more involved in politics, middle-class professions, and political decision making. To be certain, the diversity of representation in US Congress — highlighted by representatives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Cori Bush — reflects the country’s shifting demographics. Still, demographic dominance does not necessarily equate to more equality. For example, in the world’s most unequal country, South Africa, white citizens account for just 9 percent of the population but control nearly 70 percent of the wealth, including 72 percent of the country’s land. In the US, the vast majority of wealth is also concentrated in the hands of white people. And in coming decades, barring policies designed to redistribute wealth, the situation stands to get much worse as aging white Americans begin leaving their estates to fewer and fewer heirs. According to the US Federal Reserve, 30 percent of white families report an inheritance or gift, compared to just 10 percent of Black families, 7 percent of Hispanic families, and 18 percent of other families. White families also receive substantially larger inheritances and are much more likely to receive financial support from other family members in the case of an emergency. Given these trends, in a country where wealth and power go hand in hand, a more diverse society may also come with a much greater concentration of financial authority in the hands of fewer and fewer white Americans. America’s Racial Wealth Gap In the US, the racial wealth divide has grown in recent decades. As of 2016, on average, white households held nearly $147,000 in wealth compared to just $6,591 for Latinos and $3,557 for African Americans. And over 33 percent of Black and Latino families have zero or negative net worth. This situation has grown even worse under the pandemic, as minorities have experienced far more job loss than white Americans. The massive wealth gap between white Americans and minorities was fueled by the mid-20th century’s redistributive politics, which predominantly benefited white families. In the 1940s, beneath the progressive policy foundation set by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal, the US launched what would become the most prosperous period in the nation’s young history. Americans coming back from WWII went to school, bought cars and homes, and benefitted widely from government-funded programs designed to lift the working masses into the middle class. For the next 30 years, white Americans experienced growth in education, income, and wealth in a way that few groups ever have in world history. But due to systemic discrimination and racism, minorities were largely left out of this growth, and as a result, the racial wealth gap mushroomed. But today’s racial wealth gap may well pale compared to the economic fissures of the future. Today, white Americans are aging quickly. In fact, the most common non-Hispanic white American is now 58 years old, compared to just 11 for Latinos and 27 for African Americans. With far fewer children than their parents, white Americans are passing their accumulated wealth on to fewer and fewer heirs. As a result, wealth in the US is quickly becoming more and more concentrated in the hands of less and less white Americans. Dangerous Path The growth of racial inequality, coupled with a wave of conservative renewal, has set the United States on a dangerous and regressive path that threatens our nation’s democratic norms and values. Few events are as reflective of this point as the tumultuous and extremely divisive 2020 presidential election. So where do we go from here? The only way to avoid transforming into a plutocracy defined by hyper-racial inequality — à la South Africa — is to invest in the social mobility of minorities now. To do this, we must progressively raise taxes on the wealthy and immediately invest in public education, healthcare, and living wages for all Americans. The election of Joe Biden provides an opportunity to move in this direction. However, if the president-elect fails to significantly address wealth inequality over the next 4 years, democratic governance as we know it in the US may well collapse.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Consider this: Every American under 40 today — fully a majority of the country — is either a millennial (born 1977-1995) or a Gen Zer (born 1996 or after). Or this: There are more people in the millennial and Gen Z generations than in the baby boom generation, Gen X and the rest of the population combined. And all those people who say they don’t recognize the America they see outside their quarantine windows or behind masks on the streets? They are right. This is not your grandfather’s United States. It is not even your parents’ United States. For the first time in American history, more than half of those under age 16 are part of an ethnic or racial minority. And as white baby boomers age out of the workforce — it is happening every day — all the labor growth will be among racial minorities.)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwinton/2020/11/15/coronavirus-shaking-up-car-buying-as-millennials-suddenly-see-big-plusses-ey-report/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Millennials are said to despise the fossil-fuel powered car, embrace public transport, worry about climate change above all else and are firmly behind environmentalists’ plans to bring forward the day when the sale of the traditional automobile is banned. But that was before the coronavirus struck. According to a survey across 9 nations undertaken by global consultancy EV, millennials (aged between 24 and 39) are reversing all these assumptions because the coronavirus has made public transport an unattractive prospect, with its requirement for facemasks and the inevitable close proximity to the unknown. The individual, sealed automobile is now a coveted object of desire for getting to work and play. So far so shocking for the conventional wisdom. The headline finding of the report was that nearly 1/3 of people without a car intend to buy one in the next six months, and 45% of those will be millennials. There will be a global boom in car buying in the next six months, not least because of pent-up demand.)

https://www.qualitymag.com/blogs/21-jim-s-gems/post/96283-self-accountability
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It has been argued that in recent years personal accountability seems to be diminishing. Let’s explore that for a bit but just what is personal accountability?. . .Except possibly in the case of a genuine and serious mental illness, each of us is responsible for our own actions, no matter what the circumstances. Personal accountability means that we choose to take responsibility for our words, actions, and behaviors, and the outcomes they produce. It does no one any good to blame a television show, a movie, the media, the so-called “system,” or society in general for individual acts of violence or immorality. Personal accountability is the cornerstone of a healthy society just as it is an essential part of a healthy individual. Accountability literally means “account-ability,” that is, owning the ability to account for our own life. To be self-accountable means to be answerable for the obligations and duties we have in our life by the very nature of being a human being. People who are self-accountable answers fundamentally to him- or herself in honoring a code of living, ethics, and integrity that goes to the depth of who we really are. To paraphrase August Wilson, the playwright, ‘we are responsible for the world we live in. It is not the government’s responsibility. It is not our schools or our fellow citizens. It is ours, utterly and singularly ours.’ At the end of the day, we alone are self-accountable.)

https://patch.com/illinois/hinsdale/feds-sue-hinsdale-over-fair-housing
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Hinsdale is facing a powerful adversary in its effort to close a house that helps men with addictions — the U.S. Justice Department. On Tuesday, the federal government sued Hinsdale, one of Chicago’s wealthiest suburbs, and alleged the village violated the Fair Housing Act in its handling of the sober living house. Reached by phone, Village President Tom Cauley, who is mentioned frequently in the lawsuit, declined to comment, but would not say why. In July 2019, the Trinity Sober Living House opened at 111 N. Grant St. Neighbors started complaining before it opened. Last August, the village called for the house’s closure. Officials said the sober living house was a commercial operation in a residential neighborhood. The village also argued that with 10 people, the house violated the village’s rule for single-family zones — no more than three unrelated people in a house. After finding out earlier this month that a federal lawsuit would be filed, village officials dropped the argument about the house being a commercial operation, the lawsuit said. But it stuck to its ban on more than three unrelated people in a house. According to the lawsuit, on July 13, 2019, a Hinsdale resident emailed Cauley about the plan for the sober living house. The resident said neighbors were “very worried” about “having people with these issues living as a group in our neighborhood. Any restrictions on this within proximity to Monroe Elementary?” Neighbors also approached Michael Owens, the house’s founder. One accused Owens of bringing “alcoholics, drug addicts and pedophiles into our neighborhood.” Amid the uproar, Cauley wrote Owens on July 18, saying it had come to his attention that Trinity bought the property and intended to use it for 10 unrelated people. Cauley, an attorney, called it a “prohibited use,” but did not refer Owens to the “reasonable accommodation” process under the Fair Housing Act, the lawsuit said. Owens asked to meet with Cauley, but got no response. Instead, he had a July 30, 2019, meeting with the village’s attorney, Lance Malina, and two other top village officials. He gave them a tour of the house and told them the house would not admit sex offenders. At the close of the meeting, Malina told Owens about the reasonable accommodation process, which is intended for groups with disabilities, including those with addictions. In a later email, Owens asked whether he could have up to three residents in the meantime. Malina said he could not because the house was being marketed commercially. Days later, the village held a meeting of Hinsdale residents to share what officials were doing about the sober living house. Trinity was not invited, according to the lawsuit. Shortly after, Cauley sent a letter addressed “Dear Residents,” stating the village saw the sober living house as a prohibited use. The letter was not sent to Trinity, which learned about it more than a month later, according to the lawsuit. On Aug. 7, Trinity’s attorney, Steve Polin, sent a letter seeking a reasonable accommodation for the house under the Fair Housing Act. Contrary to the village’s practice, the administration did not forward the reasonable accommodation request to the Village Board, the lawsuit said. Instead, the next day, the village sued Trinity in DuPage County Court. As part of that litigation, a judge in June eliminated the limit on people in the house, citing the federal investigation, which Patch had written about. According to the lawsuit, Hinsdale’s argument that Trinity was a commercial operation and thus prohibited would essentially ban all group homes for people with disabilities. “This is because, for most group homes, the residents pay rent, the agency operating the group home receives compensation for the care and services being provided, most residents must attend employment or day services programs during the day, and residents are monitored by the provider agency.” Even under the village’s new position, the lawsuit said, only the smallest group homes would be allowed. During the county court proceedings, the village did not inform the judge that it received or intended to consider a reasonable accommodation request, according to the federal lawsuit. In a September 2019 interview, Village President Tom Cauley told the Hinsdalean that the village’s effort involved no fair housing violations. Trinity is in a zone where no more than three unrelated people can live in a house. Cauley told the Hinsdalean that “if we had 10 nuns living there, we would have a problem under the zoning code.” The village’s attorney, Malina, did not return a call for comment.)

He’s also the guy who long ago sounded the alarm about the threat posed to our republican form of government by Google and its Big Tech brethren. None of this comes as a surprise to our Mark Alexander, who’s been following Dr. Epstein’s work for years. In mid-2019, Epstein testified before Congress, and the substance of his testimony lent support to what every fair-minded person who’s ever done a politics-related Google search has long suspected: “Data I’ve collected since 2016 show that Google displays content to the American public that is biased in favor of one political party — a party I happen to like, but that’s irrelevant. … Democracy as originally conceived, cannot survive Big Tech as currently empowered.” Too bad no one on Capitol Hill took him seriously.)

My critics/opponents stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, MTRO webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member, GAO employee, etc.)
https://thetechportal.com/2020/11/25/twitter-to-start-providing-verification-badges-to-authentic-accounts-from-early-2021-asks-for-public-feedback-on-policy/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Twitter has announced that it will start its account reverification process once again in 2021, providing ‘blue checks’ to users. In 2017, Twitter had ceased providing verification badges to its account holders, even if they were genuinely noteworthy and a public figure. The decision was taken surrounding an incident in which the social media giant had verified an account belonging to Jason Keller, a white supremacist who organized a rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a result of this the company had to face a wave of criticism. It defended itself by making its policies more public, saying that the company provided blue verification badges to anyone of “public interest”. However, critics still mauled this move, saying that while genuine figures of public interest were on wait to get their accounts verified, verifying the account of a white supremacist was not something that should be of public interest. Therefore, in November 2017, Twitter ceased its action of verifying accounts on its platform. A year later, the social media platform informed that it was putting its work on the verification of accounts on indefinite hold. This time it said that this decision is being taken so that the company could direct its resources and focus on the integrity of the upcoming 2020 US elections.)

BUZZFEED NEWS
— 1 In 3 Americans Didn’t Vote. Should We Force Them To Next Time? Advocates for compulsory voting in the US are looking for a state to be an electoral guinea pig. They said forcing everyone to vote would fix a lot of problems. – Julia Reinstein (DIERSEN: How informed are the following about government and political news and commentary: your Republican Precinct Committeeman/Captain, the leaders of your Republican township/ward party organization, the leaders of your Republican county party organization, your representative on the Illinois Republican Party State Central Committee, the IRP officers, and Republican candidates on ballots in your precinct?)
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/juliareinstein/us-compulsory-voting-mandatory
(FROM THE ARTICLE: But it could also help people become more informed voters, said Rapoport, the former Connecticut secretary of state. “If you’re a principal of a high school or a superintendent, and every 18-year-old was required to vote, would that make you more likely to do civic education as part of the curriculum? I think it would,” said Rapoport. “If you’re an employer, and every one of your employees was required to vote, would that make you likely to give them time off to participate? I think it would.” This hints at one of the most common objections to compulsory voting: the rather crass assumption that nonvoters are uneducated and ill-informed on politics, and therefore are better off not voting. Nelson of the NAACP LDF unequivocally rejected that argument, calling it “fully disingenuous.” “If people were truly concerned about people voting who aren’t educated, their focus should be on education and not the right to vote,” said Nelson.)

Better yet, I should sue them. I would focus on a) present and past leaders of the Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, Illinois, TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Center Right Coalition, and American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter, b) Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct since 2000, and c) those who I have sued.)
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/04/01/americans-main-sources-for-political-news-vary-by-party-and-age/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Americans turn to a wide range of media outlets for political and election news, but two stand out as especially common sources. In a late 2019 survey conducted as part of Pew Research Center’s Election News Pathways project, Fox News and CNN were named by the largest segments of U.S. adults as their main political news source – 16% and 12%, respectively. Six other news outlets – NPR, NBC News, ABC News, MSNBC, CBS News and The New York Times – were named by at least 2% of adults. The sources named by the remaining 51% of U.S. adults resulted in a long tail of more than 50 other individual brands. . .In addition to asking respondents whether they got political and election news in the past week from each of 30 different sources (selected to represent a range of news media across different platforms), respondents were asked in an open-ended question to write in the one main source they rely on most for this news. Researchers grouped responses together by brand: For example, “NY Times,” “NYT” and “nytimes.com” were all counted as indicating The New York Times. In all, about half (49%) of U.S. adults named one of these eight outlets as their main source for political and election news. The long list of all other individual outlets, named by fewer than 2% of respondents, included larger sources like The Washington Post, the BBC and Rush Limbaugh, as well as more niche sources such as One America News, The Young Turks and individual local newspapers. Some of the remaining respondents named social media sites (4% in total) or a medium without any specific outlet specified (“radio,” “the internet”). Finally, 13% of respondents declined to provide a recognizable news outlet, left the field blank or said they didn’t remember the name of their main news source. You can see a longer list of sources that were mentioned here. Partisanship in Americans’ main sources for political news Partisan alignment emerges in several of the most commonly named main sources for political and election news. Four of the eight sources named by at least 2% of U.S. adults are much more likely to be named by Democrats and independents who lean Democratic than by Republicans and GOP leaners: MSNBC, The New York Times, NPR and CNN. Fox News is the one outlet among these eight that is far more likely to be named by Republicans than by Democrats. Those who name Fox News and MSNBC display roughly the same high levels of partisanship. About nine-in-ten of those whose main source is Fox News (93%) identify as Republican, very close to the 95% of those who name MSNBC and identify as Democrats. Similarly, about nine-in-ten of those who name The New York Times (91%) and NPR (87%) as their main political news source identify as Democrats, with CNN at about eight-in-ten (79%). The three major broadcast news networks – ABC, CBS and NBC – have more of a mix of Democrats and Republicans among those who name these outlets as their main sources for political news. For example, the makeup of those who name NBC News as their main source is 57% Democratic versus 38% Republican.)

For example, Lake County’s Democratic organization sent letters to registered voters detailing their options, including vote by mail, party Chair Lauren Beth Gash said. They also called people to inform them of those options and to motivate them to vote. Meanwhile, Trump and other Republicans groused about possible election fraud in voting by mail. Relatively few promoted it. “The Democrats had a messaging advantage,” said Kent Redfield, professor emeritus of political science at the University of Illinois at Springfield. ‘A Democratic lean’ Election results have shown most people who vote by mail back Democratic candidates. “Vote by mail does have a Democratic lean,” Redfield said. “New voters, particularly younger voters, find voting by mail very easy and low-cost in terms of time and effort.” On the flip side, Election Day tallies appear more Republican than the final totals. Ever-increasingly, the more of the aforesaid that you are, the more that Democrat and RINO employers and organizations get rid of you.)
https://www.heritage.org/the-constitution/commentary/the-constitutional-way-defeat-cancel-culture
(FROM THE ARTICLE: “To start dismantling identity politics, then, and begin the civil rights movement 2.0, we need to stop the government from handing out benefits to those with a claim of victimhood simply because of membership in a protected group.” Suborning Americans to adhere to identity categories takes many forms. One clear example is preferential contracting programs that reward businesses certified as “disadvantaged business enterprises,” or DBEs. The owner of a business obtains certification as a DBE by being a member of a victim group and swearing in an affidavit that he or she has been “subjected to ethnic prejudice or cultural bias.” Having succeeded in life by overcoming this obstacle does not prevent certification. University of Maryland Professor George La Noue draws the only possible conclusion: “Thus, social disadvantage is, as a practical matter, established at birth, and cannot be challenged by evidence of a successful life.” DBEs, obviously, need to be discontinued. Indeed, the federal government should conduct an inventory to find out how many federal statutes make non-competitive awards based on race. The last time the Congressional Research Service (CRS) did this, in 2011, it found that there were nearly 300 federal statutes that “specifically refer to race, gender, or ethnicity as factors to be considered in the administration of federal programs.” The report added that, though its authors had been “as comprehensive as possible,” their findings were “by no means exhaustive.” The next obvious step is to declare that these statutes contravene the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. One of the most visible set-aside programs is affirmative action in university admissions. Vulnerable high school seniors worried about getting into a good college are being encouraged not just to tick any of the identity boxes, but also to produce victimhood narratives that will get them into the college of their choice. This will take the courts, in the end, to resolve, though the Trump Justice Department took an important step in informing Yale this summer that its admissions program violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act in discriminating against white and Asian-American applicants. Lastly, the least recognized form of racial discrimination is one of the most important: the doctrine of disparate impact. This allows discrimination to be found in a policy’s outcome, not its intent. This is a civil rights lawyer’s dream and leads to arbitrary legal action, since all policies have a “disparate effect” on people, especially when the categories are artificial.)

TOWNHALL
— Solutions to Conservative Angst in 2020 – Loyd Pettegrew and Jim McCoy
https://townhall.com/columnists/loydpettegrew/2020/11/22/solutions-to-conservative-angst-in-2020-n2580431
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Conservatives should withdraw complete support from all news media that offer politicized opinion in place of carefully documented fact. Don’t subscribe to or buy progressive newspapers like The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, or even your local newspaper if it panders to the left. There are really good conservative daily newspaper alternatives like the New York Post, Epoch Times, Conservative Daily News, American Thinker and Washington Examiner. Pew Research reports newsroom employment dropping 51% over the past decade. Force them to downsize to even further. Falling readership will force advertisers to take their business elsewhere and these newspapers will fail. The same can apply to major television and cable news channels. Be very selective in choosing which to watch. Punish companies and their CEOs that virtue signal by stopping your purchases of their products and services. Be it the NBA, pro football, Ben & Jerry’s, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Nike, Levi Strauss, Intel, Peloton, etc., choose an alternative or go without. Choosing Dunkin Donuts over Starbucks, for example, will save money and you will be doing your part, as Nancy Reagan said, by “just saying no.” If you own stock in one of these leftist companies that support progressive causes, send a letter to the Chairman of the Board (not CEO) and tell him/her of your disgust at their sponsorship of Marxist causes and that you will relieve your 401K and investment portfolio of their stock and reinvesting your hard earned dollars in their competitors’ stock. Some professional athletes have taken center stage expressing their opinions and prejudices on social issues. We should be very leery of such social activists. Being athletic entertainers doesn’t mean they have the intellect or moral character to become trusted oracles. In many cases they are more representative of the problem than the solution. Organizations like 2nd Vote can help you discern which companies and organizations align with your beliefs. Stop using social media and Amazon Unburden your social media life as well as your reliance on Amazon. They are physically, psychologically and financially addictive! We have laid ourselves at the feet of leftist, BigTech gazillionaires who only have their own interests at heart. They are drunk with vainglorious power and self-importance, and are buying off Congress to stay unregulated. Our world would become a better place when we connect meaningfully with real people. Unsubscribe or simply wean yourself off all but the most vital social media usage. When in doubt, pick up the phone and have a real conversation with your friends; group text rather than Facebook them. Twitter is an ego trip that you don’t need to take. Frequent local stores when buying things, supporting your local economy; you can get comparable goods at reasonable prices at big box stores or product websites. Use UPS or Fedex to ship. Don’t send your children or grandchildren to left-leaning schools because if they are not yet, they will likely come home brainwashed. Conservatives must become more involved at all levels of public and private education. The National Education Association (NEA) voted to focus teacher in-service programs on “white fragility” rather than quality classroom educational practices. It holds monopolistic control over public education as a labor union, strongly aligned with liberal Democrats. Most parents prefer quality teaching in math, English, reading/writing or science over K-12 leftist indoctrination. Public boards of education must be reclaimed by conservative parents. With the Covid pandemic, many parents are eschewing regular schools dominated by teachers’ unions for charter schools, homeschooling and teaching pods, less influenced by left-leaning politics. New data show that these alternatives provide a superior choice and so are under attack by the NEA. The Biden administration will double down on these attacks. The vast majority of colleges and universities are completely leftist. State legislatures must become more vigilant of the prioritization of Marxism in higher education over democracy and the free enterprise system. Influence your children to attend politically conservative colleges like Hillsdale and Claremont, pursuing degrees in engineering, accounting, finance and STEM programs. Note, even medical school programs are now becoming woke as Stanley Goldfarb has opined, “A new wave of educational specialists is increasingly influencing medical education. They emphasize “social justice” that relates to health care only tangentially. This approach is the result of a progressive mind-set that abhors hierarchy of any kind and the social elitism associated with the medical profession in particular.”)

(FROM THE EDITORIAL: In March, President Trump warned that expanding mail-in voting would mean “you’d never have a Republican elected” again. Yet this year’s election raises doubts: With a “record-high turnout,” the GOP “not only held its own” but “exceeded expectations at every level.” Joe Biden won “a comfortable victory” in the popular vote, but “the GOP’s resounding success in down-ballot races” dealt a “significant blow” to the myth that “a latent majoritarian mandate exists for the progressive agenda.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: But Grogan says he’s undecided as to whether he’ll seek a recount of the ballots cast in the Nov. 3 election. He must wait until after the numbers are certified Tuesday, Nov. 24, before he can make the request. According to the most recent count, Downers Grove Democrat White had 233,121 votes, or 50.01% of the vote, to Grogan’s 233,046. Grogan, a Republican, is seeking his fourth term. County election judges processed and tabulated an additional 3,292 mail and provisional ballots Tuesday, DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek said in a news release. DuPage County voter turnout was at 75%, with more than 491,000 votes tabulated — 118,000-plus cast on Election Day, 190,000-plus cast at early voting places and nearly 180,000 sent in by mail, she said. Grogan said Thursday he is considering a possible discovery recount, which would look at up to 25% of precincts to determine if there are any irregularities. “I haven’t finalized it yet but honestly, anything dealing with big numbers — whether it’s processing checks here (at the auditor’s office) or counting votes — there’s always an error rate,” he said. . .Gains made by Democrats in DuPage reflect a “political transition” in the historically Republican county, possibly the result of changing demographics or this year a Trump backlash, White said. “(The county auditor race) is not an outlier. It’s part of a pattern that was repeated throughout DuPage County,” he said.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Millions of Americans who are working full-time jobs still rely on federal health care and food assistance programs because of low wages, a bipartisan congressional watchdog says. A report from the Government Accountability Office found that about 70% of adult workers participating in Medicaid, which provides health care to low-income Americans, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps, are working full time. The report was requested by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, who said its findings show an urgent need to raise the federal minimum wage. “At a time when huge corporations like Walmart and McDonald’s are making billions in profits and giving their CEOs tens of millions of dollars a year, they’re relying on corporate welfare from the federal government by paying their workers starvation wages.,” Sanders said in a statement. “This is morally obscene.” He said it was long past time to increase the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $15.)

The down payment for that town home came from what I had earned and saved a) working for IRS in Harvey for the prior 9 months and in Chicago for 6 months before that and b) working for the Firestone Store in Chicago Heights for the prior 18 months part-time and for 7 months before that full-time. That money also enabled me to a) buy a new Corvette in 1971 and b) pay tuition for graduate business courses at Loyola. Firestone hired me in 1970 because it could not find a qualified minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. In 1971, Oldsmobile withdrew a job offer that I had accepted saying that Oldsmobile had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. That directly resulted in a) Firestone Stores firing me from full-time employment and b) my accepting a job offer from IRS. IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. My wife and I bought a home in Wheaton in 1978. SPRINGFIELD STATE JOURNAL REGISTER

https://www.sj-r.com/x1782330063/Bernard-Schoenburg-A-bunch-of-political-info-daily
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There are lots of websites that compile political news, and I think it’s time I share one that I find quite interesting. There are lots of websites that compile political news, and I think it’s time I share one that I find quite interesting. It’s at www.gopillinois.com , and, as you can tell by its address, it has a Republican flavor. That is an understatement reinforced with the comments added by the compiler himself — DAVID DIERSEN of Wheaton. He introduced a recent UPI story about Republicans’ views on the drought and wildfires by saying: “Democrats blame everything bad, including bad weather, on Republicans, especially on Republicans who are conservative, White, male, older, non-poor and non-veteran.” And talking of a New York Times article about a photographer arrested while on assignment in the Bronx, Diersen wrote that since 2000, he has been thrown out of, barred from, or not advised of news conferences “by Democrats, Democrat plants, RINOs (Republicans in name only), their operatives, and their dupes.” Thus, if you don’t want to read some very pointed comments, you may not want to go to gopillinois.com. But you would be missing a treasure of links to the day’s news and opinion. Diersen, 63, is a retired federal employee who became the Illinois editor of a national GOP website in 2000, and since 2004 has put out his own Illinois compilation every day. There’s usually about 50 articles daily, he says. He’s generally up by 3 a.m. He says he spends at least 10 hours a day on this passion of his, with no pay, and has put out links to more than 117,000 articles. As his comments above hinted, party regulars don’t always greet his work with relish. He includes dissident voices within the GOP tent, and some whose credibility is questionable. But he puts it all out there. He’s a GOP precinct committeeman, and he believes in people having information. He also wants to help elect Republican candidates who “will defend and advance the party’s platform.” The site makes available plenty of Diersen history, too, including how his “liberal Democrat superiors,” in his view, forced him to take early retirement at 49 from the U.S. General Accounting Office, “because of his opposition to race and gender based preference and his participation in a class action lawsuit” on that subject. He wouldn’t mind my telling you that he also passed his CPA and Certified Internal Auditor exams on first attempts more than three decades ago. Agree or disagree with him, but Diersen provides a bunch of interesting information — every day.)

https://freebeacon.com/coronavirus/conservative-journalist-successfully-sues-state-of-minnesota-for-access-to-coronavirus-briefings/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A conservative journalist barred from Minnesota‘s daily coronavirus briefings successfully sued the state to regain access. In a settlement signed Friday, Minnesota’s Department of Health agreed to reinstate PowerLine cofounder Scott Johnson’s access to the state’s COVID-19 Conference Line “as long as and whenever” the department holds a briefing. Johnson sued the Department of Public Health when he was barred from their conference line in May without explanation. Johnson had until then participated in the calls and posed questions skeptical of Democratic governor Tim Walz’s approach to combating the coronavirus. Health department officials also stopped responding to Johnson’s written inquiries. Those officials told the Washington Free Beacon that the briefings were limited to “professional journalists,” but did not offer a definition of the term. In his lawsuit, Johnson argued that the state had discriminated against him on the basis of political ideology and demanded to be included in the briefings. The Minnesota Department of Public Health declined to comment on the settlement agreement. Johnson has been critical of the state’s handling of the pandemic, challenging Walz’s decision to keep the state shut down in April given that, at the time, more than 80 percent of Minnesota‘s coronavirus deaths occurred in nursing homes and residential care facilities. That number dipped to more than 70 percent as of mid-October, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Johnson, a retired attorney and accredited reporter, argued that his exclusion constituted “an ongoing deprivation … [of his] First Amendment rights under the United States Constitution.” Friday’s settlement acknowledges his exclusion from the briefings and guarantees him immediate access: Health department communications director Michael Schommer is required under the agreement to answer up to three of Johnson’s pandemic-related questions per week.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Republican leaders are increasingly alarmed about the party’s ability to stave off Democratic challengers in Georgia’s two Senate runoff elections — and they privately described President Trump on a recent conference call as a political burden who despite his false claims of victory was the likely loser of the 2020 election. . .Some on the call expressed particular concern about Georgia’s fast-changing electorate, driven by the increasingly liberal metro Atlanta region and the push by 2018 gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to register more Democratic voters, especially in the state’s communities of color. Democrats hope that the candidate challenging Loeffler in the runoff, the Rev. Raphael Warnock — the pastor at Atlanta’s iconic Ebenezer Baptist Church, where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. once preached — will help energize Black voters. Perdue, elected in 2014, faces Democrat Jon Ossoff, a documentary filmmaker running his first statewide race. “They changed, dramatically, the face of the electorate in Georgia. Many of these new voters are from California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and they’re not of the conservative persuasion,” Perdue said on the call.)

When I started with GAO in 1980 when I was 31 years old, my Democrat GAO superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates stressed a) that my Democrat GAO superiors had forced me to take a $20,157 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO, b) that my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974, c) that my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968, d) that I was a conservative Republican, e) that I had been baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran, f ) that I was 100% German national origin, g) that my ancestors had been in America since 1844, h) that I was a draft avoider, i) that I had lived in Wheaton since 1978, j) that I had lived in Crete 1948-1972, k) that I opposed political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, l) etc.)

— Trump’s legal push to disrupt Pa.’s election results is on its last legs. What’s his campaign still fighting in court? – Jeremy Roebuck (DIERSEN: I should write a book about newspaper coverage of the lawsuits that I have filed. Of course, the newspapers sided with the defendants in those lawsuits.)

— Don’t blame progressives for blue wave washout – BARRY SAUNDERS (DIERSEN: According to my critics/opponents, I have always been a “political burden” for Republican candidates. My critics/opponents shout at Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct who lose races that they lost because of me and because of my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails. Previously, my critics/opponents shouted at them that they lost because of what I did as a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Milton Township Republican Organization webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, and American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member.)

— The Year of the Woman Really, Finally Did Arrive in 2020 As voters, as candidates and as campaign leaders, women were—and now are—in the driver’s seat as never before – Gerald F. Seib (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, Democrats shout at women, and at everyone else, that Republicans are White supremacists, Nazis, KKK members, haters, racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things who should be gotten rid of once and for all.)

If there had been as many foreign students back then as there are now, I may very well have not been admitted.)

ABC TAMPA BAY
— Pandemic highlights affordable housing problems across the country – Vanessa Araiza (DIERSEN: In 1972, when I was 24 years old, I could afford to buy a new town home in University Park, but I could not have afforded to buy that new town home if it had been in a more expensive municipality, township, or county. In 1978, my wife and I could afford to buy a home in Wheaton, but we could not have afforded to buy that home if it had been in a more expensive municipality, township, or county. In 1984, my wife and I could afford to have a new home built in Wheaton, but we could not have afforded to have that home built in a more expensive municipality, township, or county.)

NEWSWEEK
— Trump Administration Officials Face Tough Time Finding New Jobs – NAVEED JAMALI AND TOM O’CONNOR (DIERSEN: I should write a book about my unsuccessful efforts during 1997 and 1998 when I was 49 years old to find a job appropriate for someone with my work experience, education, professional certifications, and professional license after my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer.” Factors that frustrated my job search included a) the adverse actions that my Democrat GAO superiors had taken against me, b) my being an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my Democrat GAO my opposing with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation, c) none of my four degrees were from Ivy League universities, d) my having filed lawsuits, e) my being White, male, 49 years old, draft avoider, 100% German American, Missouri Synod Lutheran, conservative, Republican, a former IRS employee, a Wheaton resident since 1978, a Crete resident 1948-1972, etc.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The presence of Trump loyalists in positions across the government has also had an effect on the jobs themselves. Rather than blacklist people for their affiliation alone, one Democratic congressional staffer who asked to remain anonymous told Newsweek that former administration officials should be judged based on their performance, which the staffer said often came second to ideology. “There are many appointees who were hired, promoted, or retained because of their loyalty to Trump and Trumpism,” the staffer said. “Many of these people actively harmed the very people and institutions they were charged with serving. They engaged in or were complicit in tremendous cruelty. Those are the reasons not to hire someone.” The staffer said this standard should apply to those who left office early as well, such as former Defense Secretary James Mattis, who has been critical of the commander-in-chief he served, but has not apologized for having implemented some of his controversial policies.)

FINANCIAL TIMES
— Comfortable in court: Donald Trump reprises playbook for election fight Veterans of real estate industry say hard-nosed legal strategy was honed over decades – Joshua Chaffin (DIERSEN: Even though I have not filed a lawsuit since 1998, if I sought a government office or a political office, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes would demonize me, denigrate me, and condemn me as being litigious. I should write a book about the lawsuits that I have filed, the defendants in those lawsuits, and the retaliation that those defendants continue to take against me.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Donald Trump gained a reputation as one of the most litigious real estate developers in the US. . .But to veterans of the New York City real estate world, the president’s actions since the November 3 election are familiar, and consistent with the playbook he honed for decades as a highly litigious property developer. . .“I don’t think he ever had a particularly impressive track record of winning anything. But he was sufficiently litigious that it was a deterrent.” Even in the litigious blood sport of New York real estate, Mr. Trump stood out.)
