CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS
— Why we published an all-woman Tech 50 list – Editorial (DIERSEN: When will Crain’s publish all-woman and all-minority federal government 50 lists? Since the 1960s, the federal government’s top priority has been a) to hire, retain, and promote young Democrat women and young Democrat minorities and b) to make way for them by wasting the careers of and by getting rid of its employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran who did not make GS-13 (currently $96,403) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $113,920) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $134,000) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200) by age 40.)
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20180720/ISSUE07/180719833
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Our 2011 Small Business Week coverage featured the Tech 25, a list of the people propelling the growth of technology entrepreneurship in Chicago. Howard Tullman was there, as CEO of his Flashpoint Media Arts Academy, since this was before he would go on to help create the 1871 Chicago startup hub. So were Sam Yagan, then co-founder of OKCupid, as well as Obama for America veteran Harper Reed and Lightbank partner Paul Lee, to name a few. We’ve since expanded the feature to an annual list of the 50 tech people you need to know now, and we’ve embraced founders of large companies as well as small ones while sprinkling in more financiers, heavyweights, connectors, dreamers, gurus and coders. Over the years, Crain’s technology reporter John Pletz, thanks to his deep and wide knowledge of the sector, has done an incredible job of producing each year’s list, keeping it fresh with new, diverse names while burnishing readers’ understanding of the perennial power players who have remained relevant year in, year out. This year, however, the editors threw John a curveball. With our ongoing Woman Up Project in mind, we asked him to create an all-female Tech 50 for 2018.)

POLITICO ILLINOIS
— This one is a doozy, even by Chicago standards: Millionaire Chicago mayoral candidate Willie Wilson handed out $300,000 in cash to attendees at a South Side church Sunday. And it gets better: According to Wilson, $100,000 of it came from Gov. Bruce Rauner. – Shia Kapos

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “Check this out if you wonder why Illinois politicians are often a national joke. How can Willie Wilson, a candidate for Mayor of Chicago, literally hand out CASH at a public event? This is so wrong!” tweeted, Republican state Rep. David McSweeney.)
— Seating squabble: Thursday’s Lincoln Forum debate between Republican Rep. Peter Roskam and Democratic challenger Sean Casten is sold out. The event was only supposed to have 100 audience guests, ideally supporters evenly split between the two candidates. But when tickets went on sale, Casten’s supporters gobbled them up. Lincoln Forum co-founders Pat Brady, the former state GOP chairman, and Eric Adelstein, a Dem strategist, decided out of fairness to sell an additional 70 tickets to Roskam supporters. “The Lincoln Forum is nonpartisan and we have a duty to have a balanced room,” Brady said. – Shia Kapos (DIERSEN: I should write a book about the two times that Pat Brady spoke at TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois meetings.)

UNION LEADER
— Unions support workers – RICHARD BACKUS, New Boston (DIERSEN: IRS’s and GAO’s 40-hour work week and annual leave policies helped me to a) earn an MBA from Loyola in 1976, b) pass the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, c) earn a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, d) pass the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, and e) earn a master’s degree in financial markets and trading in 1997.)
http://www.unionleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20180718/OPINION04/180719439
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Right-to-work is not what it seems. Before labor unions, factory workers toiled six days a week, 12 hours a day. They often worked alongside children as young as 5 years old. Pay was terrible; there were no health benefits or pensions. It was the unions that gave us the 5-day, 40-hour work week, pensions, and other benefits. It was the unions that gave us the shared prosperity of the 1940s and ‘50s. Since then the unions have been under attack, to the point where we have the unconscionable situation of full-time workers at Walmart needing to go on welfare. Gov. Chris Sununu is a champion of “right-to-work” legislation. And now, in Janus vs. AFCSME, the Supreme Court (with Neil Gorsuch on the bench) has said it’s okay for employees not to contribute union dues. The phrase “right-to-work” sounds innocent enough, but make no mistake, it intends to weaken unions and increase corporate profits. We now have the most unequal society since the Gilded Age of the 1890s. And Republicans, the party of the 1 percent, as the recent tax bill demonstrated, have already signaled they are coming after Medicare and Social Security. If you care about fairness, equity, and a society that works for everyone, vote accordingly in November.)

FEDERAL TIMES
— Democrats demand investigation into reports of politically motivated VA firings – Leo Shane III (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes stress that except for Henry Hyde in 1989, my Republican U.S. Senators and my Republican U.S. Representatives did not come to my defense when a) my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980; b) my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974; and c) my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

— The Social Security Administration has left one of its employees on administrative leave well past the limit established in U.S. Code after that employee wrote on agency office windows in Troy, New York, to protest recent union-targeting executive orders. – Jessie Bur (DIERSEN: Constructively, my Democrat GAO superiors have had me on administrative leave since September 30, 1997.)

But what do you say to activists, to candidates, to elected officials, to party leaders, to major donors, to political consultants, to etc. who claim to be members of Group B, but who DO NOT WANT ME TO DRIVE TRAFFIC TO THEIR WEBSITES? Maybe they are really members of Group A. Members of Group A are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-patriotic, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time and members of Group B are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older people, rich people, gun owners, German Americans, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)

UNION BULLETIN
— Political web-sites must be clearly marked Unfortunately, a troubling trend has surfaced in which political websites are designed to look like news sites to fool voters. – Editorial (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, mainstream news sources promotes the Democrat Party platform, Libertarian Party platform, Green Party platform, and foreign countries. Of course, they falsely deny it. GOPUSA ILLINOIS promotes the Republican Party platform and America.)
http://www.union-bulletin.com/opinion/editorials/political-web-sites-must-be-clearly-marked/article_bce204a4-8c41-11e8-9003-1352a6c3665d.html

(FROM THE EDITORIAL: When it comes to internet shenanigans at election time, the Russians don’t have the market cornered. A few members of the U.S. Congress — Democrats and Republicans — have set up “fake news” websites designed to sway voters in their direction so they can win re-election. Not cool. Tim Johnson of the McClatchy News Service reported that three sitting senators who are in the midst of tough re-election campaigns and one House member have created sites that look like internet news pages, but their aim is to put positive spin on the candidates. For example, Nevada Republican Sen. Deal Heller’s website, NevadaSenateUpdates.com, even has weather and calendar widgets on the top of its page, just like those of a conventional newspaper website. The “paid for by Heller for Senate” is in dim gray type on a black bar at the bottom, Johnson reported. On the other side of the aisle is a the faux internet news site put up by the Missouri Democratic Party — The Missouri Download — to promote the re-election chances of Sen. Claire McCaskill. Johnson reports that its declaimer is almost impossible to read. According to election watchdog groups, these are not isolated incidents, but a troubling trend. “These websites are designed with one thing in mind: to trick the reader into thinking they’re a legitimate news source. And anyone who says otherwise is being disingenuous. A label tucked at the bottom of a web page isn’t enough,” said Aaron Sharockman, executive director of PolitiFact, a fact-checking website. Brendan Fischer, of the Campaign Legal Center, a nonpartisan group on campaign finance and democracy issues, agreed. “You’d have to scroll all the way to the bottom and read the fine print to learn that these sites are actually generated by partisan political actors who are trying to win an election,” Fischer said, adding that structure of the websites indicates that “there is a degree of trust in the news media, and that’s why these candidates and parties are trying to emulate traditional news media sites.” While these campaign websites aren’t illegal, as the source and campaign information are included (albeit it in teeny-tiny print), there are certainly deceitful. All voters — Democrats, Republicans and independents — should be irked. Voters deserve better. Those in office, or seeking office, should want to get information out to the public that is positive to their campaigns and that costs doubts on their opponents. But this must be done in the open. When creating websites for these political purposes, make it crystal clear — in bright, big and bold letters — who is responsible for the content. Then the voters can judge for themselves the credibility. If the public doesn’t push back now on this dubious tactic, the proliferation will continue. It must stop.)

WASHINGTON POST
— DIERSEN HEADLINE: An anti-Trump says “House provides no 2019 pay raise for federal employees; conflicts with Senate.” How strongly will my critics/opponent, their operatives, and their dupes in the Milton Township Republican Central Committee, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and the Illinois Republican Party hint/imply/argue/shout that those who voted for Trump a) want Trump to get rid of past, present, and future federal employees once and for all and b) especially want Trump to get rid of me? I was a federal employee for almost 30 years and I have been a federal retiree for almost 21 years.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2018/07/20/house-provides-no-2019-pay-raise-for-feds-conflicts-with-senate/
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: It’s been a tough week for federal employees. On Monday, there was yet another display that their top boss is hopelessly unsuited for the White House with President Trump’s obsequious behavior in front of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump undermined federal employees who reported Putin’s attack on the 2016 presidential election. On Tuesday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee approved two measures that would speed the firing of feds by weakening civil service protections. On Thursday, the House effectively dumped on raising pay for federal employees in 2019 by passing an appropriations bill that included no increase. While the workforce and the rest of us are stuck with Trump for at least two more years, the House actions are not the final word on pay and disciplinary measures. . .House Republicans also don’t care for the current level of federal employees’ civil service protections. Two bills approved by the Oversight Committee with party-line votes would allow management to fire feds faster by weakening their workplace due-process rights. The measures require full House and Senate action before becoming law. One bill would accelerate disciplinary procedures, including termination, by cutting time allowed for appeals. The general probationary period for feds would double to two years, allowing more time to take disciplinary action against new employees who have fewer rights. Another piece of legislation would lower the burden of proof that managers need to fire workers, among other provisions. “Working for the United States federal government is an honor and a privilege, and most federal employees value the opportunity and work hard to serve the American people,” Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) said following the committee vote. “However, some federal employees have learned they can use the system to protect their jobs regardless of their poor performance or bad behavior.” He called the committee’s action “a huge step to creating a more efficient and effective government that works for the people, streamlining the process and lessening the time it takes to dismiss poor performing or negligent employees.” Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (Md.) the ranking Democrat on the Oversight Committee, disagreed. The legislation “raises serious concerns about fairness and due process,” he said, adding it “will weaken merit system principles and politicize the federal workforce.”)

FORBES
— Don’t Chase The Money! There Are More Important Things To Look For In A Job – Michael B. Arthur (DIERSEN: Have you taken a pay cut? I have. In 1980, when I was 31 years old, I took a $19,203 (26%) pay cut in today’s dollars (from GS-12 Step 5 down to GS-9 Step 10) to transfer from IRS to GAO. QUESTION: Why did I do that? ANSWER: GAO claimed to be nonpartisan and independent. My Democrat IRS superiors and Money Magazine had ruined my IRS career. GAO employees are somewhat less demonized, denigrated, and condemned than IRS employees are. Because GAO audits IRS, I could use my knowledge of IRS on audits of IRS. I had worked for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880. The GAO staff manager who hired me was confident that he could a) promptly get me assigned to audits of IRS and b) promptly promote me to GS-11 Step 10, currently $87,933, to GS-12 Step 5, currently $91,880, and to GS-13 Step 1, currently $96,403. But soon after I transferred to GAO, that GAO manager was deposed and he was not able to promote me to GS-11 Step 10 until 1981, to GS-12 Step 5 salary until 1982, and to GS-13 Step 1 until 1986. In 1986, he finally succeeded in getting me assigned to audits of IRS. In 1987, his Democrat superiors succeeded in forcing him to retire. To justify their forcing me to take a pay cut to transfer from IRS to GAO, my Democrat GAO superiors dismissed/belittled/badmouthed/demonized/denigrated/condemned a) my knowledge of IRS, b) my passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, c) my almost completing the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul and then my earning that degree in 1980, and d) my earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976. They would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, or a veteran. Money Magazine, my Democrat superiors, GAO, IRS, and Post Office supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates, and the rest of my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always viciously demonized me, viciously denigrated me, and viciously condemned me as being overpaid.)

WORLD NET DAILY
— HAPPY WHITE HISTORY MONTH! GET OVER YOUR FEAR! Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson applauds people who ‘founded this country and made it great’ (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes disagree with Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson.)
http://www.wnd.com/2018/07/happy-white-history-month-get-over-your-fear/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: For the last 60 years or more, white people have been under attack, falsely called “racist,” and blamed for the failure and problems of black Americans and other so-called “people of color.” Illegal aliens, refugees and immigrants from “s—hole countries” have been allowed to come here, and instead of showing appreciation for the freedom and beauty for their new home, they bring their godless cultures. They vote for socialism and are emboldened in hate, blame and victimhood by our corrupt leftist government, school system and media. Each year reveals new levels of insanity celebrating radical Black History Month, transgender and homosexual history, feminist women – celebration of everyone except for straight, white, conservative Christian men of power. White people have been under attack, unappreciated and under a spell of fear for so long that most of the country can’t even remember that it was whites who made this country the destination that it is! The simple fact remains: Without white people, there would be no America. White men founded this country and made it great. White men like President Trump are the last ones holding America together – and it is hanging by a thread. So out of appreciation, I deemed July as White History Month. For some reason, whites allowed others to come in to this country who would turn around and betray them! Reportedly, whites will soon be a minority in their own country! If we allow the vilification and replacement of whites to continue, then our country will become a ghetto. We will see more black-on-white crime, more laws against Christians and men, a total loss of freedom, and destruction of communities. Mark my words, if we don’t stop this attack upon white people, we will become like South Africa where black communists seek to take white farmers’ private land without compensation. Blacks hunt down, torture and kill white farmers, including women and children – and murder one another in the townships. Riots and destruction of property are the norm. Families are destroyed, the economy is hurting, disease is rampant, and there’s a lack of morality or responsibility among the people. We caught a glimpse of this in America under President Obama, the worst and most hated president the country ever experienced. He brought the radical hate group Black Lives Matter and other evil people to the White House regularly. He sowed division, hatred and suspicion toward whites, police, Christians, business owners and men. Race riots, targeted cop killings, and black-on-black murder all increased because he validated criminals and thugs while demonizing and marginalizing the good people. Thankfully, white men and women, and a growing number of “people of color,” woke up and supported the Great White Hope, President Trump. He’s working overtime to Make America Great Again. He’s sending the illegals back, not falling for the media propaganda about the “children” whom criminal adults intentionally brought here. He’s building a big beautiful wall on the border. He gives no play to Black Lives Matter and antifa (Occupy Wall Street communists). Trump is a man of courage and action, with love for the country and no fear. He’s from the old school! Men of other races have been destroyed. Now evil seeks to destroy white men. Although most are still conservative, they’ve grown very weak, afraid to stand up for themselves and what’s right. Their parents let them down. They should watch and learn from the president. On my daily call-in show on Newsmax TV and YouTube, I greet people, “Happy White History Month!” I offer the same wishes while going about my day at the gym, the bank, post office and gas station – “Happy White History Month!” Some are grateful. Most react with laughter, confusion or anger. Many believed that “white history” was observed “every day,” but it’s not – whites are only cast negatively by the children of the lie. Some friends and callers express concern for my safety, fearing a violent backlash against White History Month. We should be wary of violent leftists and white haters, given the incitement by anti-Trump agitators like Maxine Waters (the Wicked Witch of the West), corrupt government officials, media and Hollywood. There are places where it’s not safe to be an open Trump supporter. But the children of the lie proudly tout their beliefs with no sense of shame for being wrong – they’re in your face promoting evil! If you are a child of God, you have no fear. Perfect love, the nature of God, drives out fear. But if you have fear, you are still of your father the devil. In counseling and talking with people, I notice most men and women have fear. Men are afraid to deal with their wives. Grown men and women are afraid to face their mothers and be honest with them! Where does fear come from? Anger and unforgiveness. Unless you forgive, you will not be forgiven. And you will have all of the children of anger: fear, doubt, insecurity and suicidal thoughts. So forgive and be free! Watch video from The Jesse Lee Peterson Show: “Fear Is the Worst Thing You Can Have. (Happy White History Month!)”)

DAILY HERALD
— Lauzen rips up reimbursement check, then rips Kane board members – James Fuller (DIERSEN: I should write a book about Diersen v. IRS (SEE: https://www.gao.gov/products/463866) In 1974, when I was 25 years old, to get rid of me, my Democrat IRS superiors disallowed my partial day per diem claims and hinted/implied that my claims were fraudulent. That forced me to file a grievance. I won that grievance 4 years later, but by then, whatever career I had at IRS was over. If I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, or a veteran, my Democrat IRS superiors would not have disallowed my partial day per diem claims.)
http://www.dailyherald.com/news/20180710/lauzen-rips-up-reimbursement-check-then-rips-kane-board-members
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen stripped his fellow officials of any chance of embarrassing him with a second vote to deny reimbursement of personal business expenses by ripping up what appeared to be a check for $149.07 in front of the board Tuesday. Lauzen then accused the board members who rejected his payment of collecting a $25,000 annual paycheck without performing any meaningful public service to justify it. The drama marked the latest sign of an increasingly fractured relationship Lauzen has with many board members. Less than a week ago, he spoke with confidence about a second vote approving his reimbursement request. That vote became necessary after an opinion from State’s Attorney Joe McMahon said Lauzen cast an improper vote to break a 10-10 tie on the reimbursement last month. Lauzen began his speech Tuesday with a highlight reel of accomplishments during his tenure. Those include extending a property tax levy freeze in place since the year before he took office through the 2016 budget year. Also mentioned were a 65 percent reduction in county debt and the coming completion of projects, such as the Longmeadow Parkway and the cross-country course at the former Settlers Hill Landfill. Given those results, Lauzen said, he expected to be “given even more latitude to produce even more good.” Instead, the reimbursement denial comes as more “destructive nitpicking” to stand in the way of progress, Lauzen said. Turning over his plans to create new, nontax income for the county with a waste-to-fuel facility, expansion of the county’s fiber optic network leasing, and promoting the use of county infrastructure for cellphone amplification has gone nowhere, he said. “I would ask you to examine your public service you produced for your $25,000 salary,” Lauzen said. “What positive contribution are you making? What progress has been made? I’ll void the check and not accept it, and then we’re going to be finished with the stuff.” Lauzen then shredded what appeared to be the reimbursement check.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Democratic governor candidate J.B. Pritzker’s campaign spread $2.5 million late last week to campaign coffers aimed at helping Democrats in the legislature and Cook County. Campaign finance reports show Pritzker gave $1 million to the Democratic Majority fund, which is chaired by House Speaker Michael Madigan and is used to assist Democratic House members and candidates. Another $1 million was headed to two different funds aimed at helping Democrats in the state Senate — $500,000 apiece to the Senate Democratic Victory Fund headed by Senate President John Cullerton and the Illinois Democratic Heartland Committee, which assists Downstate Senate Democrats. Pritzker, a billionaire heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, also dropped $500,000 to the Cook County Democratic Party, which is now headed by County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. Democrats are counting on Pritzker to help down-ballot candidates in much the same way that his opponent, Republican Gov. Rauner, has done in subsidizing the state GOP and Republican legislative candidates.)

I should write a book about those who were the biggest bullies. At GAO, they succeeded in forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, giving me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, not promoting me beyond GS-13, getting rid of my mentor in 1987, keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forcing me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. At IRS, they succeeded in not promoting me beyond GS-12, disallowing my education deductions in 1978, getting rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowing my partial day per diem claims in 1974. At the Post Office, they succeeded in forcing me resign in 1969 and disallowing my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

http://www.wirepoints.com/janus-v-afscme-and-the-truth-about-illinois-pensions-in-one-graphic-wirepoints-original/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There’s one graphic that perfectly captures the absurdity of Illinois pensions over the past three decades. It’s what Justice Samuel Alito described as Illinois’ “generous public-employee retirement packages” when writing for the majority in the Janus v. AFSCME decision. Alito didn’t use this graphic but he could have, because it makes his point. In 1987, pension promises made to active workers and retirees in the state’s five state-run pension plans totaled just $18 billion. By 2016, they had ballooned to $208 billion. That’s a cumulative 1,067 percent increase. Contrast that to the state’s budget (general fund revenues) which was up just 236 percent over the same time period. Or household incomes, which were up just 127 percent. Or inflation, up just 111 percent. Promised pension benefits have blown past any ability of the state, the economy or taxpayers to pay for them.)

They stress a) that my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980; b) that my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974; and c) that my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

— AUGUST 17, 2017 FLASHBACK: The Top 5 Career-Limiting Habits You’ve Built (And 6 Ways to Break Them) Old habits die hard. Use these six tips to hack the process and break bad habits before they break your career. – Michael Schneider (DIERSEN: What were the most career limiting things that you did? For me, as a federal employee whose superiors were always Democrats, a) I avoided the draft, b) I refused to become a Democrat, c) I complained about political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation, d) I refused to help my Democrat superiors get rid of their employees because they were Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran, e) I refused to paint myself as being a yes-man and I refused to be a yes-man, f) my wife and I gave up trying to have children, we did not adopt, and we did not become foster parents, and g) I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my superiors with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. Further, while I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO, I suggested that GAO a) not do work for U.S. Senators or for U.S. Representatives unless the work was requested by at least one Democrat AND at least one Republican and b) that about 50% of audit teams should Democrats and about 50% of audit teams should be Republicans.)

— JUNE 18, 2018 FLASHBACK: Reciprocal Marketing (DIERSEN: GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails drive lots of traffic to websites. Since 2004, GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails have included links to more than 306,200 articles on hundreds of websites. Yet sadly, very few of those websites appreciate that. Some even treat me like they are doing me a big favor by letting me drive traffic to their websites. Some even treat me like they do not want me to drive traffic to their websites. Virtually none of those websites reciprocate in any way, for example, a) by not charging me to view articles on their websites, b) by emailing me links to relevant articles on their websites, or c) by posting a link on their website to the GOPUSA ILLINOIS website (www.gopillinois.com). With only the rarest of exceptions, I do not include links to articles if I cannot view the articles. I pay thousands of dollars each year for home delivery of many newspapers and for full internet access to many newspaper websites. Needless-to-say, I should not want and I do not want reciprocity from websites that are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-patriotic, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)

My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that it should be me. They stress that I am White, male, old (born in 1948), 100% German national origin, my ancestors have been America for a long time (since 1844), conservative, Republican, Protestant (baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran), draft avoider, and non-poor. How many of the aforesaid terrible demographics do you share with me? In my defense, my ancestors have always lived in northeast Illinois.)
http://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/395945-hysteria-about-supreme-court-vacancy-isnt-about-abortion-its-about
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A progressive court would sense our nation’s sovereign borders differently; immigration issues would be viewed through the prism of globalism. Liberal judges tend to apply pluralistic conditions to their considered opinions. Judicial activism would proliferate in the guise of “righting historical injustices” and, in particular, redressing America’s “original sin” — slavery. If Trump succeeds in appointing a conservative justice, for example, the court effectively would rule against any legislative efforts to have America – meaning the taxpayer – pay some $4.1 trillion to African Americans related to the impact of slavery, as David Horowitz outlines in his 2016 book, “Progressive Racism. ”A liberal Court would see this controversial issue very differently than a conservative Court. And some supporters of reparations already have mapped a way for descendants of slaves to receive some form of compensation. Georgetown University professor and author Michael Eric Dyson has gone so far as to suggest that white Americans — no matter whether their ancestors were slave-owners or not — should maintain an “individual reparations account” as a means of “atonement.” This would involve making donations to African American groups. The Trump administration’s Department of Education already has begun moves to undercut Obama-era policy guidelines to universities to consider race in college admissions if legally possible. Quotas, racial preferences, and the landmark 1978 Supreme Court decision to legalize affirmative action have given way to a far more innocuous, benign term — diversity — and been upheld by the Court as recently as 2016. But the construct — reparations — remains the same. While these “reparations” may be well-intended, they penalize Americans whose ancestors played no role in slavery, in order to compensate Americans who were never enslaved. If the Supreme Court’s ideological majority flipped, future generations would be left to foot the bill.)

http://www.thisisinsider.com/money-goals-to-hit-by-35-that-are-actually-achievable-2018-7
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Chances are, you’ve seen the advice floating around that advises 35-year-olds to have twice their annual salary in savings if they plan to retire by 67 “and live a similar lifestyle.” If you are 35 years old and you have just one year’s annual salary shored up, congratulations a million times over — you’re well ahead of the game. In 2017, the median salary for Americans aged 35 to 44 was $50,752 annually, based on figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By contrast, the Federal Reserve found that the same age demographic had a median $5,000 in a savings account. All Americans, on average, had just over $33,766 saved, and one-third had $0 saved for retirement in 2016. Obviously, the double-your-salary-by-35 figure isn’t realistic for many working people in the U.S. — especially those in their mid-thirties.)

JOURNAL & TOPICS
— Letter Demanding Resignation In Maine Township Will Be Sent To Top Republicans – Todd Wessell
https://www.journal-topics.com/articles/letter-demanding-resignation-in-maine-will-be-sent-to-top-republicans/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A letter which demands that Maine Township Republican Committeeman Char Foss-Eggemann of Park Ridge call for the resignation of Township Trustee Dave Carrabotta because of allegations that he inappropriately touched fellow Trustee Kim Jones, has not yet been sent to Eggemann. However, according to some people knowledgeable about the letter, it will soon be mailed to the committeeman as well as Cook County Republican Party leader Sean Morrison, state GOP leader Tim Schneider, and others. Meanwhile, an investigation into the sexual harassment claims by Jones, launched by the town board after May 22 when the charges first surfaced, will take another week and a half to complete, said township Supervisor Laura Morask. She indicated that one more person has to be interviewed by the lawyer assigned to perform the probe. Morask would not comment further. The letter insisting that Eggemann act on the matter was prompted in part by some Republicans demanding that House Speaker Mike Madigan step down because of harassment and bullying complaints leveled against several Democrats. Marilyn Smolenski, Republican candidate who’s running against incumbent Democrat Marty Moylan in the November General Election, has been one of those voices demanding Madigan’s resignation. She has been highly critical of Moylan for not standing up to Madigan by demanding that he resign. Eggemann is a strong supporter of Smolenski, who lives in Park Ridge. Moylan recently blasted Smolenski for backing “one of the biggest perverts in the U.S., Trump.” Added Moylan, “He’s one of the biggest pigs in the U.S. I’m not silent. Tell that Trump backing pistol packing Trump supporter that I back women’s rights and I voted for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).” Smolenski owns a company that sells pistol holders for women. On the advice of the township attorney, Jones confronted Carrabotta with her accusations of inappropriately touching her backside on May 22. Carrabotta flatly denied the allegations and demanded an immediate closed door meeting where the issue could be discussed. Jones accuses Carrabotta of touching her on three separate occasions during township events in late 2017 and 2018. According to people familiar with the letter, it’s believed that at least 10 local Republican women will sign it by the time it is mailed to Eggemann. Among the words used in the letter are “outrageous” and “disturbing.” It also says that Jones has a solid reputation in the community and was slated by committeeman Eggemann to run for the township position. Carrabotta has told the Journal & Topics that the matter is “confidential”. In a statement released yesterday (Tuesday) by State Republican chairman Tim Schneider, he said, “The Illinois Republican Party strongly believes that sexual harassment has no place in any workplace, public or private, and that allegations must be investigated swiftly by independent parties. If the allegations against the Maine Township trustee are true, he has violated the public’s trust and should step down. Until then, the investigation involving the allegations should proceed.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Bartlett warns that history is repeating itself as lawmakers are pushing to cut the budget of the Government Accountability Office to demonstrate fiscal responsibility while Gingrich is reviving his calls to eliminate of the Congressional Budget Office, which he recently called “a reactionary socialist institution which does not believe in economic growth.” “It is essential that Congress not cripple what is left of its in-house expertise,” Bartlett writes. “Gutting the GAO and abolishing the CBO would be acts of nihilism. https://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/11/29/gingrich-and-the-destruction-of-congressional-expertise/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Unfortunately, Gingrichism lives on. Republican Congressional leaders continually criticize every Congressional agency that stands in their way. In addition to the C.B.O., one often hears attacks on the Congressional Research Service, the Joint Committee on Taxation and the Government Accountability Office. Lately, the G.A.O. has been the prime target. Appropriators are cutting its budget by $42 million, forcing furloughs and cutbacks in investigations that identify billions of dollars in savings yearly. So misguided is this effort that Senator Tom Coburn, Republican of Oklahoma and one of the most conservative members of Congress, came to the agency’s defense. In a report issued by his office on Nov. 16, Senator Coburn pointed out that the G.A.O.’s budget has been cut by 13 percent in real terms since 1992 and its work force reduced by 40 percent — more than 2,000 people. By contrast, Congress’s budget has risen at twice the rate of inflation and nearly doubled to $2.3 billion from $1.2 billion over the last decade. Mr. Coburn’s report is replete with examples of budget savings recommended by G.A.O. He estimated that cutting its budget would add $3.3 billion a year to government waste, fraud, abuse and inefficiency that will go unidentified.)
