— On turning 30 during a pandemic — it’s just another crisis for our generation – TRAVIS GIDADO (DIERSEN: What did you do during the year that you turned 30? During 1978, the year that I turned 30, I was the subject of a nasty 4-page article in Money Magazine, I sold my one bedroom condo in the Outer Drive East building, I got married, we bought 1017 East Harrison in Wheaton, I worked for IRS in its Loop office in its Special Procedures Staff, I took graduate accounting courses at DePaul at its Loop campus, I took IRS to Tax Court and won a split decision after my Democrat IRS superiors disallowed my graduate business and accounting courses, I sold my 1962 Chevy Bel Air and bought a new 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale and a new Chevy Chevette, I continued to store my 1972 Corvette in my mother’s garage in Crete, I started taking Becker CPA review courses, I continued to rent out my town home in University Park, etc.)

— Let’s have a ‘cease-fire’ from news conference sniping – Editorial (DIERSEN: Government is nasty. Politics is nasty. Since 2005, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated, me, and condemned me as being like Jeff Gannon. Since 2005, they have viciously used against me what happened with GOPUSA, Talon News, and White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon. SEE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talon_News They paint me as being a clone of Jeff Gannon and even worse things. Ever since I became a GOPUSA reporter in 2000, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I ask bad questions at press conferences and share privileged information with reporters that have caused Republican candidates to be defeated and even worse things. Of course, I should sue my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes. But if not that, I should write a book about activists, candidates, elected officials, and party leaders in Illinois who claim to be religious, conservative, and/or Republican, but a) who do NOT want me to know about their press conferences, b) who do NOT want me to attend their press conferences, c) who do NOT want me to ask questions during their press conferences, d) who do NOT want me to speak with other reporters, e) who have barred me from attending their press conferences, f) who have had me thrown out of their press conferences, and/or g) who do not want me to report on their press conferences.)

QUINCY HERALD WHIG
— Adams County parties adjust caucuses in response to pandemic (DIERSEN: If you are a Republican Precinct Committeeman, who do you want to serve as the officers of your township and/or county Republican party organizations? What do you want them to promise to do? What about pressure to promote Affirmative Action, Diversity, Inclusion, and Up-Or-Out? What about pressure to dump those who are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders, and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time?)
https://www.whig.com/20200407/adams-county-parties-adjust-caucuses-in-response-to-pandemic
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Adams County political organizations are forming alternative plans to move forward with the county caucuses set for April 15 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Adams Committee Democratic Central Committee announced it will postpone its caucus because of Illinois stay-at-home order, which is in line with the Democratic National Convention delaying its convention to August. The Democratic Central Committee will elect a new chairman after Chairman Keith Niewohner announced last year that he wished to retire as chairman but will remain a committeeman. Niewohner said it’s important that the committees are able to meet in-person to elect a new chairman, but that now is the time to focus “on the health, safety and well-being of ourselves, our families, the community and all of our momentum.” A date for a future caucus was not set. Dave Bockhold, chairman of the Adams County Republican Central Committee, said the party’s executive committee is seeking to host the caucus by mail. Letters have been sent to all precinct committeemen to get approval for the move.)

I would focus on those who have lots of religious, government, political, and/or financial clout. Circuit Court of Appeals accusing the companies of deliberately censoring conservative viewpoints and violating the First Amendment. The $1.5 billion lawsuit, brought by Republican congressional primary candidate Laura Loomer (R) and conservative organization Freedom Watch, accuses the tech companies of being quasi-state actors, and thus in violation of the First Amendment when they suppress protected speech.)

NATIONAL REVIEW
— Missing the Point of Plymouth Rock – David Randall (DIERSEN: From what I see, ever-increasingly, Democrats, Libertarians, Greens, and RINOs hint/imply/argue/shout that if you are a Republican, the longer that your ancestors have been in America, a) the more that you have benefitted from their discrimination against minorities and against females, b) the more that you should pay the price of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion, and c) the more reparations that you should pay.)
https://news.yahoo.com/missing-point-plymouth-rock-103005635.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Of course the Pilgrim landing at Plymouth Rock in 1620 explains American history. Of course the 1619 Project’s shoddy exercise in vituperation is meant to delegitimize America. John G. Turner’s recent article in National Review is an extended exercise in missing the point. Turner, a scholar of the history of American religion, and the author of a recent book on the Plymouth colony, surveys the debate about the New York Times’s 1619 Project with the traditional attitude of a liberal scholar — a facile resort to moral equivalence. Turner, positioning himself as the neutral and expert arbiter, frames the 1619 Project and its critics as equally mistaken — the one unduly obsessed with the 1619 arrival of blacks in Virginia as the foundation of an America built on slavery, and the other unduly obsessed with the 1620 arrival of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, as the foundation of an America built on liberty. Neither view, says Turner, is correct. Nor are views of America as built on liberty in 1776 or 1787. All the supposed foundations of liberty are compromised by racism or elitism: The proper way to understand America is to look at the endless details of Americans’ flaws, and not their sweeping aspirations. Turner’s entire approach is misguided.)

— 8 in 10 Americans say their lives have been disrupted by coronavirus pandemic: Gallup – REBECCA KLAR (DIERSEN: For virtually everyone, their income and the value of their investments, real estate, vehicles, possessions, etc. has gone down. That gives ammunition to the following: individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-patriotic, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)

— Campaigns face attack ad dilemma amid coronavirus crisis – MAX GREENWOOD, JULIA MANCHESTER AND JULIEGRACE BRUFKE (DIERSEN: Moderate Republican party leaders focus on driving conservatives out of the Republican Party, that is, they focus on destroying the Republican Party. I should write a book about past and present moderate Republican party leaders of the Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and the Illinois Republican Party. I would focus on their success in destroying the aforesaid organizations.)
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/491105-campaigns-face-attack-ad-dilemma-amid-coronavirus-crisis
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Democrats argue that attacking Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic is fair game in energizing their base and swaying swing voters and moderate Republicans. “We need to be defining Trump,” said Kelly Dietrich, the founder of the National Democratic Training Committee, which has been training down-ballot campaigns on how to handle the pandemic. “Forty-two percent of America is always going to believe that Donald Trump is the supreme genius, and our beloved leader for them,” he continued. “That’s not who we’re talking to. We’re talking to moderate Republicans, suburban women, African American women, college-educated men and women. We’re talking to swing demographics.”)

POLITICO
— Coronavirus clampdown: The virus casts a shroud over American civic life – JEREMY B. WHITE (DIERSEN: I should write a book about activists, candidates, elected officials, party leaders, major donors, political consultants, etc. in Wheaton, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and Illinois who do NOT want to hear me speak against the promotion of a) pot, b) gambling, c) booze, d) dependency on government, e) dependency on charity, f) LGBTQ activity, g) abortion, h) mass/illegal immigration, i) diminishment of First and Second Amendment rights, j) patronage, k) political affiliation discrimination, l) reverse discrimination, m) age discrimination, and n) retaliation for opposing promotion of the aforesaid.)
https://www.politico.com/states/new-jersey/story/2020/04/01/coronavirus-clampdown-the-virus-casts-a-shroud-over-american-civic-life-1270386
(FROM THE ARTICLE: States and cities across the country are cutting off access to open records and canceling in-person meetings, starving the public — not to mention lobbyists and other influence-brokers — of information as the coronavirus outbreak reaches into all corners of civic life. The public access shutdown comes just as local officials make unprecedented decisions about health care and how to disburse billions of dollars in federal aid. And it could undermine years of hard-won victories on access to information, some transparency advocates say, with now-temporary restrictions enduring even after this crisis has receded. Meetings that typically allow constituents to physically interact with their representatives have been suspended. Activists and lobbyists no longer have physical access to state lawmakers in some places. And many cities and states, their staff preoccupied with the virus, have halted or curbed their responses to public records requests. That is meeting pushback from some public transparency and good government advocates who warn that a public health emergency shouldn’t undermine the public’s access to the workings of government — particularly when that government is making critical, life-and-death decisions. One advocate drew a parallel to how some records vanished from public view after the Sept. 11 attacks. “Here’s another huge national event, this health crisis, that is probably also going to set new precedents for what’s going to be available or not and how people are going to respond or not respond based on the new normal,” said Daniel Bevarly, executive director National Freedom of Information Coalition. In-the-open policymaking has receded as elected officials hunker down.)
— ’Huge, unprecedented, devastating hit’: Warnings mount about economic damage The signs of economic distress point to deeper trouble in the months ahead as the coronavirus crisis worsens in cities outside New York and New Jersey. – VICTORIA GUIDA (DIERSEN: For virtually everyone, their income and the value of their investments, real estate, vehicles, possessions, etc. has gone down.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Office of Personnel Management on Monday released a policy clearing the way for increased recruitment, retention and relocation incentives — the “3Rs,” in government lingo — for employees in high-demand positions. Normally, agencies may pay up to an additional 25 percent of salary, but with OPM’s permission they can pay up to 50 percent more. “Agencies may request that OPM waive one or more of these limits to address a critical agency need, such as agency programs or projects related to the President’s declaration of a national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic,” OPM said, inviting agencies to make requests and providing a template for them to use.)

USA TODAY
— Navy Secretary apologizes after calling USS Roosevelt’s fired captain ‘stupid’ – Tom Vanden Brook (DIERSEN: My Democrat superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates in the federal government hinted/implied/argued/shouted that federal employees were stupid and even worse things if they did not a) promote the Democrat Party platform and b) get rid of federal employees who were Republican, and especially those who were White, male, and/or non-veteran.)
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/04/06/coronavirus-navy-calls-fired-crozier-stupid-more-ships-test-positive/2955472001/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It’s unclear what prompted Modly’s sudden change of heart. However, hours earlier President Donald Trump waded into the controversy, saying at a White House briefing that he would “look into” Crozier’s case. In addition, powerful lawmakers called for Modly to be fired. And the Navy, shortly after Trump spoke, said it had extended the deadline for its investigation into Crozier’s letter. Trump called the letter a “mistake” that had worried families and showed “weakness.” But he said Crozier has had a “very good” career. “I don’t want to destroy somebody for having a bad day,” he said. Relieving an officer of command typically ends the officer’s career. After getting fired, they often take administrative jobs that lead to retirement. Trump said he was good at settling such issues and “can figure it out very fast.”)

https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20200330/most-suburban-gop-lawmakers-endorse-pritzkers-covid-19-stay-at-home-rule
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Illinois GOP House Leader Jim Durkin and Senate Republican Leader Bill Brady supported Pritzker’s executive order issued March 20 that aims to nip the spread of the respiratory infection. Republican and DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin has appeared with Pritzker at several briefings and said “preserving people’s health and safety has to be the No. 1 consideration in an effort to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our communities. “I intend to let the public health recommendations and data drive decision-making, so we make the most informed decisions possible in this unprecedented situation,” Cronin said. Republican state Rep. David McSweeney of Barrington Hills, however, said last week that Pritzker’s order is “too broad” and the state should align with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “I am 100% totally supportive of what the health care professionals say at the federal level,” McSweeney said. “I believe the best information is at the CDC. No one in Washington has ordered a shutdown of the state of Illinois.”)

— How will county parties hold legally mandated conventions on April 15th?
https://capitolfax.com/2020/03/30/how-will-county-parties-hold-legally-mandated-conventions-on-april-15th/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The ILGOP’s general counsel sent a memo to county chairs days ago. Excerpt… Other than the requirement that conventions be held on a particular date, the Election Code only directs that a county convention elect a county chairman, select delegates to the state convention and shall be held “within the county.” There is no statutory requirement that a convention must be conducted in any particular manner. In other words, for county organizations without bylaws that might direct otherwise, a convention could possibly be conducted by a conference call (so long as all participants are within the county), or by use of absentee ballots or other methods to elect a chairman and to conduct business. As for the requirement that state convention delegates are chosen at the county convention, that task may be delegated (as has traditionally been the case) to county chairmen if necessary. Of course, all notice requirements must be adhered to, as always. For counties with bylaws that dictate how their conventions are to be run, those bylaws will control, and county organizations should abide by them. I asked the same follow-up question to the ILGOP’s Joe Hackler about counties with in-person meeting requirements. His response… There may be a few that explicitly require personal presence for participation. However, each of these counties conventions would conceivably have a rules committee that could possibly help offer some relief.)

But what you can say is that people are leaving this place to keep up with the Joneses.” “People are telling us about something entirely different as a motive for going to the United States, and it has to do with envy. What I mean by envy, particularly, is house envy,” Bensman continued. “American dollars being sent back to the families here have been poured into huge, beautiful houses.” Guatemala receives more than ten billion dollars a year in remittances from its citizens who are living in the United States and sending their money back home. And a lot of that money – at least in this town – is being used for home construction. The people that are working in the United States send money to their family members and what few men are left in this town are very busy constructing houses. Two homes we saw under construction are 2,500 square feet. Many Guatemalans appear to be achieving the American dream by moving the American dream back to Guatemala. The Dream? To Build a Nice House Back in Guatemala Marcus Domingo’s sons are in Missouri, working jobs where they’re paid “under the table” and sending enough money home to build both of these houses. “See, the problem here is there aren’t any economic resources, no jobs for us, it’s only in the United States where there’s work that pays enough to do this because Guatemala is a poor country,” Domingo said. “Right now our dream is for each of us to build our own house so we can have a good life, buy a little piece of land, and put a little money in the bank so that we can better our situation. Everyone sees that some are building all this and everyone became preoccupied with fighting to have one for themselves,” he said.)

— How many votes did the Republican candidates in contested races get in your precinct? Below are the unofficial results from the DuPage County Election Division for my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 9 in Wheaton. I do not recommend or endorse candidates in Republican primaries. I do not do that because my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes in the Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO), DuPage County Republican Central Committee (DCRCC), and Illinois Republican Party (IRP) have been so successful in painting any recommendation or endorsement by me as being THE KISS OF DEATH for candidates. Further, the aforesaid do everything that they can to suppress the number of Republican primary ballots cast in my precinct because the more ballots that are cast, the greater the weighted vote that I have in MTRO, DCRCC, and IRP leadership elections. https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/03/why_the_rich_favor_the_democrats.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Why do the wealthy align with the Democrats? The answer may seem counter-intuitive, but it is really quite simple. It’s surely not ideals or high-minded principles. Nor is it ignorance. Rather, it boils down to raw self-interest. In his book, The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, Christopher Caldwell notes that rich Americans think themselves to be as vulnerable as blacks. They are a relatively small minority of the population. They fear being resented for their wealth and power and of having much of that taken from them. Accordingly, the wealthy seek to protect what is theirs by preventing strong majorities from forming by using the divide and conquer principle. As R.R. Reno writes when reviewing Caldwell’s book: “Therefore, the richest and most powerful people in America have strong incentives to support an anti-majoritarian political system.” He goes on: “Wealthy individuals shovel donations into elite institutions that incubate identity politics, which further fragments the nation and prevents the formation of majorities.” Some of the rotten fruit of the wealthy taking this approach include multiculturalism, massive immigration of diverse people, resistance to encouraging assimilation, racial strife, trying to turn white males into pariahs, and the promotion of gender confusion. Through it all, society is bombarded with the Orwellian mantra that “diversity is strength,” as if repeating it often enough can make it so. It is also why patriotism and a common American culture are so disparaged today. Those from the upper strata of society project the idea that if you’re a flag-waving American, you must be some kind of retrograde mouth-breathing yokel. The wealthy as a groups are content to dissolve the glue that holds the U.S. together. And it is all done to enhance and preserve their power, wealth, and influence. This is why they so hate Donald Trump. He strives to unite people and the country, although you’d never know that that is what the president is doing if you live in the media bubble. Trump’s MAGA agenda is an anathema to the managerial class.)

The 32-page report published by the Citizens’ Audit Review and Measure LL Oversight Committee has sparked criticism and concerns by a group of 24 Laguna Beach residents with professional backgrounds in finance, business, accounting, and auditing who argue the panel should have at least one certified public accountant with expertise in auditing. Considering the city’s reported revenues were more than $109 million in 2017-18, this watchdog cadre says the taxpayers would be better served with additional experienced eyes on the city’s ledger.)

DAILY HERALD
— Endorsement: Almiron for Republicans in primary for DuPage County recorder
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20200228/endorsement-almiron-for-republicans-in-primary-for-dupage-county-recorder
(FROM THE ENDORSEMENT: It’s easy to understand why both candidates for the Republican nomination for DuPage County recorder consider the position a perfect fit for their credentials. Ron Almiron, an attorney from Wheaton, has a long and deep history of service in local projects, service agencies, school and community boards and even more recently treasurer and CFO for the Wheaton Mosquito Abatement District. Babette Holder Youngberg, a communications professional from Wheaton, boasts a long history in real estate and property management that is specifically relevant to the duties of this office. Both candidates speak knowledgeably and think creatively about a role that demands a disciplined combination of attention to detail and customer service. Choosing between them is no simple matter for voters. The distinction for us comes down to depth of community involvement and level of detail in the vision for the office. Almiron’s diverse range of community, school and government activities gives him a slightly more refined sense for operating a government office, and he approaches the role with compelling intensity. Whoever ultimately wins the election in November, there is a possibility he or she will not serve long. If voters approve a consolidation measure in the General Election, the elected recorder’s position will be eliminated and the duties folded into other county offices. Youngberg and Almiron argue that the public is best served by an elected recorder but both agree to work cooperatively toward a smooth transition if voters decide to eliminate the office. Republican voters can’t go wrong with either candidate in this primary. Our choice is Almiron.)
— Endorsement: Grogan for Republicans for DuPage County auditor
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20200228/endorsement-grogan-for-republicans-for-dupage-county-auditor
(FROM THE ENDORSEMENT: In nearly 12 years as DuPage County auditor, Bob Grogan has produced an impressive reputation for transparency, efficiency and competence. With justifiable pride, the Downers Grove Republican points to various state firsts he has implemented — including the first county checkbook online, the first transparency portal and the first auditor hotline. He has served as the president of the Association of Illinois County Auditors and notes that he knows how “to ask the awkward questions” that an auditor must raise when working with county officials to fix errors, find wrongdoing or just make things work better. His challenger for the party’s nomination in the March 17 primary is retired bank officer Jeffrey Mack, of Downers Grove. Mack has an appropriate financial background for auditor and a reasonable familiarity with the duties of the office. His strongest argument, however, is that he could bring a “fresh set of eyes” to the operation. That’s not an irrelevant point, but Mack doesn’t build on it by demonstrating why a new perspective alone would justify replacing an auditor with Grogan’s record and credentials. Grogan is Republicans’ strongest alternative for the November ballot, and he gets our endorsement.)

They painted what GAO Analysts do as being a unique “trade or occupation.” They would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, or veteran.
