— Central Illinois man files lawsuit over flag burning arrest- AP (DIERSEN: What do flag burners think of you?  Flag burners despise me, if not hate me.  Flag burners, like all my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, blame me for their problems, blame me for your problems, blame me for my problems, and blame me for everyone’s problems.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-illinois-flag-burning-arrest-lawsuit-20170112-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Police in Urbana used Illinois’ flag desecration law to arrest local resident Bryton Mellott on July 4 of last year. He said he carefully planned his demonstration to protest racial discrimination, poverty and other injustices, and then posted six photographs of his actions on Facebook. The posts, which generated hundreds of comments, led police officers to arrest Mellott while he worked at Wal-Mart and detain him for several hours. He was released without being charged. Mellott, who is being represented by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, was expected to discuss the lawsuit at a Thursday news conference in Champaign. The suit was filed late Wednesday. . .The Illinois case comes as the issue has been in the headlines. President-elect Donald Trump recently said that anyone who burns an American flag should face “consequences,” like jail or a loss of citizenship, despite the Supreme Court determinations.)

— Only club members vote in secret Illinois elections – Phil Kadner
http://chicago.suntimes.com/opinion/kadner-only-club-members-vote-in-secret-illinois-elections/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Politicians hold secret meetings to select replacements for state legislators who leave office. No outsiders supervise the proceedings. It is not open to the public. That’s the law in Illinois. I’ve known about that process for years, but the lack of oversight really hit home after state Rep. Monique Davis, D-Chicago, recently resigned. On Jan. 5, a meeting of Democratic committeemen from her legislative district, the 27th, was allegedly held to name a replacement. That would include committeemen from the 9th, 19th, 21st and 34th wards in Chicago and Calumet, Orland, Bremen and Worth townships in the suburbs, as far as I can tell.)

— The unsung heroes of Illinois  Watchdogs John Kraft and Kirk Allen are raising a racket over local corruption – Johnny Kampis  (DIERSEN: When do you raise racket?  I raise racket when Republican elected officials and party leaders fail/refuse to defend/advance the Republican Party platform, the Illinois Republican Party platform, and the Milton Township Republican Central Committee resolution against video gambling.  Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can/will defend/advance their platform.)
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jan/11/the-unsung-heroes-of-illinois/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Perhaps the most long-lasting effect of the investigative work done by John Kraft and Kirk Allen with Edgar County Watchdogs isn’t the more than 200 officials they’ve chased out of office, but the viral impact they’ve had. Others in Illinois have formed their own groups in Illinois to combat waste, fraud and abuse by public officials, including a coalition in Morgan County that has managed to bust several bureaucrats there. “They’re replicating the model,” Mr. Allen said. “We’re excited to see them step up and have success.” Edgar County Watchdogs, now rebranded as Illinois Leaks, has also spurred state media to action. Mr. Allen said Chicago Tribune reporters have told him his and Mr. Kraft’s work has “forced them to do a better job and do it faster.” Messrs. Kraft and Allen came together in 2011, discussing each other’s bureaucratic woes at a candidate’s dinner. Mr. Kraft had asked to film a school graduation so he could sell the video and learned that someone else was hired for the job without public discussion. Mr. Allen, the volunteer fire chief in the town of Kansas, learned that a dispatcher didn’t instruct the parents of a baby having trouble breathing on CPR techniques. He investigated and learned the 911 call center hadn’t certified its dispatchers in CPR techniques in the past six years, as is required by law. Further investigation there determined that taxpayer money was used for everything from pizza parties to gambling. Messrs. Kraft and Allen created their website and started investigating, using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to uncover a fount of bureaucratic blunders.)

DAILY CALLER
— HUD Spent Almost $1M To Cover Up Accusation Against Top Exec – Luke Rosiak  (DIERSEN: My Democrat superiors in the federal government never made a racist remark to me, but my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in September of 1997 when I was 49 years old, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,459 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims.  My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests. In 1997, in today’s dollars, GAO paid me $122,991. My pension is only $50,720. $122,991 minus $50,720 times 19 years and 4 months is $1,397.239.)
http://dailycaller.com/2017/01/11/exclusive-hud-spent-1m-to-cover-up-accusation-against-top-exec/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Taxpayers wrote a $900,000 settlement check to a federal employee to compensate her for once being likened to a “Little Rascals” character by her boss, The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group (TheDCNF)  has learned. The secret settlement appears to be one of the largest-ever discrimination settlement payouts to an individual federal employee. The payment came after an Equal Opportunity Employment office ruled that the remark was racist and accepted without challenge the claim that it caused nearly a million dollars worth of emotional harm. The offending boss was Mary K. Kinney, then-executive vice president of Ginnie Mae, which is part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).)

CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Public speaks out on plan to merge DuPage Election Commission into clerk’s office – Gary Gibula  (DIERSEN: Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform.  Are you a partisan? I have always been one.  According to Wikipedia, “In politics, a partisan is a committed member of a political party.” I have always been a “a committed member” of the Republican Party, and especially since 1999, I have been “a committed member” of the Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC), DuPage County Republican Central Committee (DCRCC), and the Illinois Republican Party (IRP). However, those who dominate the MTRCC, DCRCC, IRP, and the Republican Party and who reject planks in the IRP platform and/or in the Republican Party platform define “a committed member” differently.  According them, “a committed member” a) is someone who rejects the same planks that they do, usually the traditional family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, gambling, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks and b) serves as one of their operatives or as one of their dupes.)

LIFESITE NEWS
— An inside look at the International LGBT Leaders Conference and what really goes on  Major corporations like State Farm, Walmart, Comcast and Google funded the LGBT Leaders conference, as they do many other homosexual events. – Peter LaBarbera  (DIERSEN: Who works against you?  Overwhelmingly, those individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that promote LGBT activity, their operatives, and their dupes work against me.)
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/an-inside-look-at-the-international-lgbt-leaders-conference-and-what-really
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Walmart, AT&T, and Comcast were among the major corporate sponsors of the International LGBT Leaders Conference held December 8-10 to promote homosexual- and transgender-affirming laws, abortion, illegal immigration, and other “progressive” Democratic agendas. The conference, put on by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Institute — also known simply as the Victory Institute — was first envisioned as a recruiting event and strategy session to help place LGBTQ activists in a sympathetic Hillary Clinton administration. But with Donald Trump’s surprise victory on November 8, the event turned into a series of panel discussions on how to resist a Trump presidency and GOP-controlled Congress. The conference was hosted by the Washington Hilton Hotel, where President Ronald Reagan and three other men were shot in an assassination attempt in 1981. LifeSiteNews attended the Victory Institute conference, which drew more than 500 homosexual, bisexual and “transgendered” lawmakers as well as allied political and corporate activists from across the globe. This is the first of several articles on the conference, which offered a glimpse into President Obama’s success in pushing his LGBTQ policies in the United States and abroad and how difficult it will be to overturn them if President-elect Trump is so inclined. Victory Institute is associated with the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, a political action committee that works to elect openly homosexual, bisexual, and transgendered individuals to public office. Among Victory Fund’s co-founders in 1991 is homosexual activist and major Democratic Party fundraiser Terry Bean, who in 2014 at age 66 was arrested by Portland, Oregon, police along with his 25-year-old ex-boyfriend, Kiah Lawson, on charges of sodomizing a 15-year-old boy. As LifeSiteNews reported, Bean, who is also a co-founder of the LGBTQ lobby group Human Rights Campaign, was charged with two felony charges of third-degree sodomy and one count of third-degree sex abuse. The sex abuse charges against Bean were dropped after the boy fled and refused to testify following “an offer by Bean to end the case with a so-called ‘civil compromise’ in which Bean would pay the young man $225,000 and avoid a criminal trial,” Willamette Week reported. A transcript of a police interview with Lawson reveals that Bean reportedly knew the boy he was “hooking up” with sexually was underage and tried to coach him to say he was 18. A corporate-funded “gay insiders” army  Far more than on the abortion issue, in the LGBTQ “culture war” the homosexual-transgender lobby has a huge advantage over its pro-family opponents in both funding and the number of fully engaged activists. As homosexual power grew especially through two Obama terms, these conferences have gained more and more funding and sponsorships from large corporations, which have embraced the LGBTQ movement’s paradigm of viewing homosexualism and transgenderism strictly from a “civil rights” perspective. The Victory Institute conference was no exception. Most speaker panels were sponsored by a major corporation whose representative gave opening remarks touting that company’s commitment to LGBTQ issues. Here are some of the themes observed at the International LGBT Leaders conference: Openly “gay” and homosexually “married” American ambassadors — all men — discuss how living “out” proudly and publicly with their same-sex “husband” changes minds in the foreign nations in which they serve. They understand their role in normalizing “gay marriage” and the immoral homosexual lifestyle abroad. LGBTQ activists in the military discuss how they pushed for open homosexuality and then open transgenderism in the Armed Forces, and how transgender activists used key meetings with the Pentagon’s top brass to advance their gender-confusion agenda (without Congress). Why homosexual and transgender activists think it will be difficult to “roll back” many pro-LGBT policies enacted by President Obama — even transgenderism in the military. Representatives of major corporations (all conference sponsors) discuss how they are crucial to stopping “religious freedom” legislation at the state level. Corporate power is now central to LGBTQ lobbying nationwide. Homosexual (illegal) “immigration” activists apply homosexual activist “coming out” and victimhood tactics to their push for amnesty — comparing coming out as “gay” or “transgender” to coming out as an “undocumented” immigrant. How LGBTQ activists work hand-in-hand with other “progressive” agendas including abortion-on-demand, amnesty/“rights” for illegal immigrants, gun control and radical feminism — almost exclusively working with Democrats. When corporate America funds the LGBTQ movement, it mostly finances the left. LGBTQ activists adore President Obama for so aggressively pushing homosexual, bisexual and transgender policies at all levels of the federal government — and across the world by leveraging American power and his bully pulpit. Obama gave LGBTQ activists almost everything they wanted. He is a big part of the success of the “gay” and “transgender” revolution in the United States. But will Trump and the Republicans coming to power in Washington have the will to reverse it in any significant way?. . .Corporate Sponsors  The following were major corporate sponsors of the International LGBT Leaders Conference 2016: AARP, AT&T, Altria (cigarette and tobacco products), Coca-Cola, Comcast, Dow, Gilead (drug manufacturer), Pfizer, PG&E, Southwest Airlines, State Farm, Toyota, Union Pacific, Walmart, and Xylem (water technology). A future article will report on how so many major corporations are pushing LGBTQ policies to the point of becoming culture-war power players in stopping social conservative legislation. That includes laws designed to protect the freedom of citizens and small businesses not to participate in homosexual “marriages” and other aspects of the gay-trans agenda, according to the dictates of their conscience. As the reader will observe from these reports, homosexual and transgender activists lean heavily left and toward the Democratic Party. No panelists were seen speaking in support of Donald Trump or the Republican Party, and no homosexual Republicans, much less traditional GOP conservatives, were represented. Two days after Trump’s electoral win, Victory Fund President & CEO Aisha C. Moodie-Mills issued a statement that read in part, “Today I am heartbroken that racist, xenophobic, sexist and transphobic demagoguery won last night’s presidential election.” Time will tell whether major corporations ostensibly serving consumers of all persuasions — from far-left progressives to tea party conservatives — will pay a price for financing and aligning so closely with leftist LGBTQ politics of this sort.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “The impact of hiring freezes enacted during previous Democratic and Republican administrations demonstrates that such measures have not, in fact, significantly reduced the size of our federal workforce or enhanced federal government operations,” the 106 members wrote, citing a still-relevant 1982 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report. The previous freezes did not result in a significant reduction in the size of the workforce, yet served, the letter said, “to decrease efficiency, transparency, and accountability government-wide at the expense of the public safety and American taxpayer dollars.” Instead of controlling federal full-time employment, agencies increased temporary and part-time workers. “They also resorted to an extraordinary reliance on private contractors,” the Democrats wrote.)

AMERICAN THINKER
— Who Has More Privilege Than Barack Obama? – Jonathan F. Keiler  (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth and that I have always been privileged, and that because of that, I should pay the price of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion.)
http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/01/who_has_more_privilege_than_barack_obama.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Obama was not born into substantial wealth, but his family on both sides was well connected, providing a traditional advantage that allowed him entry into elite society.  This old-style leg up then combined with modern leftist ethnic-racial privileges, overwhelmingly present in academia and the media, to advance Obama at every turn.  This created a powerful cocktail of built-in benefits that gave Obama almost every conceivable benefit of the doubt while at the same time allowing him to claim victim status.  More than anything else, it is this dynamic that explains his rise and his selfishness.  It also clarifies Obama’s heavy narcissism, bullying behavior, and utter lack of graciousness. Without these privileges, Obama gets nowhere.  If you are inclined to learn more about how Obama got this way, read David Maraniss’s much heralded, largely hagiographic biography of Obama’s early years, if you can bear it.  Before I bought it, I noted a two-star review on Amazon: “Boring.”  Often such smart-aleck one-word reviews are off the mark, but not this time.)

JOURNAL STANDARD
— Unions have helped Americans thrive – Chuck and Pat Wemstrom  (DIERSEN: What does Gettleman think of you? In 2000, when Diersen v. GAO (
https://gopillinois.com/documents/) was transferred from Washington, DC to Chicago, it was assigned to Gettleman.  In open court, Gettleman made it very clear that he despised if not hated me and my claims against GAO.)
http://www.journalstandard.com/opinion/20170105/their-view-unions-have-helped-americans-thrive
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Scott Reeder, in a recent column, praised the actions of Mark Janus, “just an ordinary Joe,” who, with two other Illinois state employees, is continuing with litigation challenging “fair share” fees that non-union members pay to unions. The fees do not support political candidates but help pay for the collective bargaining that benefits all employees. Reeder gives the impression that Janus is a hero of the common people, fighting the big bad union for his individual rights: a Don Quixote battling the huge, anti-human windmills of the AFL-CIO. The truth is that Janus is part of a powerful, concerted effort to destroy unions. The original lawsuit was filed, in fact, by Gov. Bruce Rauner. In May U.S. District Judge Robert W. Gettleman dismissed Rauner’s action, deciding, correctly, that Rauner had no standing to sue. We don’t know why the governor of Illinois is instigating lawsuits against unions. One would think he’d have better things to do, such as governing the state and learning how to get along with a legislature duly elected by the people. Reeder quotes conservative Supreme Court justices, declaring everything a union does is political.)

https://freedomsjournalinstitute.org/latest-news/opinion/here-are-six-black-republicans-that-trump-should-put-in-cabinet-positions/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: President-elect Donald Trump owes the Black community absolutely nothing. Let me repeat that: HE OWES US NOTHING! Blacks gave Trump just 8 percent of their vote and Hillary Clinton won 88 percent; Clinton’s share of Black voters was considerably lower than Obama’s 93 percent in 2008 and 96 percent in 2012. Trump has said that he will make things a lot better for Blacks and that he wants to be president of all of America. Trump won the election and “to the victor belong the spoils,” but if he’s serious about making things better for Blacks, he’s going to need the expertise and wealth of experience of Black Republicans during his transition to the White House and in his administration.)

http://www.expressnews.com/news/news_columnists/gilbert_garcia/article/House-ethics-office-derives-power-from-public-10838544.php
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Office of Congressional Ethics isn’t allowed to subpoena anyone, doesn’t have the power to hold hearings and can’t recommend sanctions. Its only real juice comes from the power to embarrass, to shame unethical members of the U.S. House (and deter future ethical lapses) by investigating allegations of corruption and submitting reports to the chronically worthless House Ethics Committee. It’s a power that former U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minnesota, decried back in 2008 when the office was created. Bachmann, through a spokesman, predicted that the OCE would prolong “the game of gotcha politics” and create an “unaccountable board of gossips and partisans that can sling mud.” It’s a power that motivated House Republicans — in a closed-door Monday vote — to approve a rules package that would have gutted the OCE, before they reversed course in the face of a public backlash. Bachmann saw negatives in all the positive aspects of the OCE. The office’s best virtue — that it’s independent of Congress — made it “unaccountable” in her eyes. Its willingness to dig into complaints the House Ethics Committee sweeps under the rug made it a “board of gossips.” Bachmann ultimately found herself on the receiving end of an OCE investigation into issues related to her 2012 presidential campaign, including the use of campaign funds to promote her autobiography and the improper mixing of funds between her campaign and her political action committee. The OCE referred the matter to the House Ethics Committee, which dragged its feet for a year, allowing Bachmann to leave office with no repercussions. You could argue, however, that the ongoing embarrassment of the ethics probe persuaded Bachmann to not seek re-election. The political shorthand on the OCE is that it’s a Democratic creation despised by Republicans. There’s some truth in that, because 159 Republicans — compared to only 23 Democrats — voted against its formation in 2008. But the bigger truth is that House members, regardless of party, have viewed the six-member panel largely through the prism of their own experiences with it.)

BALTIMORE SUN
— The Democrats are down and out and don’t seem to know it – Perry L. Weed  (DIERSEN: Who LOOKS DOWN down on you? I should write a book about those activists, candidates, elected officials, party leaders, major donors, political consultants, etc. in my precinct, in Wheaton’s West District, in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois WHO LOOK DOWN ON ME.  I could group them as follows: those who a) have lots of religious clout, b) those who have lots of government clout, c) those who have lots of political clout, d) those who have lots of financial clout, e) those who I have sued, f) operatives for the aforesaid, and g) dupes for the aforesaid.)
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bs-ed-democrats-denial-20170104-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Democrats have lost their way. They no longer represent the working class or the middle class as they continue to fall behind. They have lost America’s heartland and small towns and rural areas. Look at the political power shift to the right. The Democrats have 12 fewer U.S. senators than when President Barack Obama was sworn in, 63 fewer House members and 16 fewer governors. They have the lowest number of state legislators in more than 100 years. In only six states do Democrats control both the governorship and the legislature — the lowest number in our history. Other than President Obama, Democrats have a severe messaging problem and a dearth of winning candidates; the party is a fundamental mess. Most importantly, Democrats have forgotten their roots in the economic goals of the Roosevelt New Deal and the Johnson Great Society. They have abandoned an inclusive message. They slice and dice the electorate. They are now the party of diversity, and ethnic- and racial- and gender- identity. They advocate cultural issues at the expense of jobs and other working class issues. Too many of them they look down on “the deplorables” and the poorly educated, the very ones who turned to Donald Trump for change and some glimmer of hope for themselves. This election revealed the emergence of white and other working class Americans who feel abandoned and threatened by Washington and Wall Street and the institutions and elites they represent. Some of this was nativism, e.g., a reaction to the persistent flow of illegal immigrants into the country, now augmented by new refugees from the Middle East. These white Americans feel their very identity is under attack.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Millions of people are still in shock over the election to the Presidency of someone with such questionable qualifications as Donald Trump, who seems intent on rolling back many of the governmental programs vital to the lives of ordinary people. For the good of the nation and their party, to come back, Democrats need to get beyond simple opposition, to proposing the improved programs and services the people need. And they must communicate better with ordinary Americans, especially in what pundits call “flyover land,” outside the coastal areas and big cities, to go forward from this defeat. . .It’s counterproductive to look down on people who voted Republican. Given the Democrats’ communication disadvantage, it’s not surprising that people voted to “make America great again”—for themselves—over candidates who seemed to promise little, except when pressured by Bernie’s supporters. Democrats have a history of losing when they don’t communicate a strong economic message. They need to go on the offensive—as in ’92 when “It’s the economy stupid” was the successful working slogan and strategy.)

Democratic Congressmen Bobby Rush and other prominent Chicago politicians and community leaders spoke out on Thursday in support of a CTA jobs program for ex-felons, which is set to end on Saturday because of a conflict with rail and bus unions. — Pension plans no longer a sure thing – Terry Savage
http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/success/terrysavage/tca-pension-plans-no-longer-a-sure-thing-20161223-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Very few workers today will get pensions. Most company defined-benefit pension plans were changed long ago into 401(k) plans, where your eventual checks will depend on the amount you contributed and the performance of the investments you chose. But for millions of union workers, part of the attraction of paying union dues over a lifetime of work was the promise of a pension. Many of those pensions are so-called multi-employer plans, which cover workers for unrelated employers in the same industry. Now, as a result of years of mismanagement, bad investments or bad assumptions on returns, some funds are running out of money to keep their pension promises to union workers. Pension defaults or cuts now appear likely because of a law passed as part of the 2014 omnibus spending bill designed to keep the government from shutting down. The Kline-Miller Multiemployer Pension Reform Act allows union pension plans to appeal to the Treasury Department to cut pension benefits — even for current retirees — if the plan trustees can demonstrate the cuts are a solution to extreme hardship.)

— How St. Charles native Mark Vargas’s tie got mixed up with Trump, Mexico – James Fuller

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “I’m an American of Mexican decent, and I’m also a Republican,” Vargas said. “It was serendipitous this election that I got connected with President Fox.”  Fox’s use of the tie inched Vargas toward a goal made as a student at Judson University in Elgin. Watching the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks he decided to stick his neck out in the name of service to his country. He landed an internship with former U.S. Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert, followed by work on businessman Ron Gidwitz’ 2006 gubernatorial campaign. Then he moved to Washington, D.C., gambling that the $72 in his checking account wouldn’t run out before his luck did. He scored a job interview at the Pentagon for a position that would involve spending most of his time in Iraq. There was only one question during the interview: why did Vargas want the job? He gave a response he’d been thinking about ever since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. “I believe we’re waging the battle of my generation in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq,” Vargas said. “One day, I want to look back and say that I was a small link in bringing stability to a war-torn country.” Vargas got the job, and spent 2008 through 2010 helping create Iraq’s version of a chamber of commerce.)

DUPAGE POLICY JOURNAL
— GOP seeks uniformity on illegal immigrant student policies – Michael Carroll
http://dupagepolicyjournal.com/stories/511063279-gop-seeks-uniformity-on-illegal-immigrant-student-policies
(FROM THE ARTICLE: An Illinois legislator wants to see the state adopt a uniform, transparent and fiscally sound policy on the question of illegal immigrant students attending state universities. State Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) said publicly funded universities in Illinois lack a uniform standard on accepting illegal immigrants, leading to a patchwork of policies that may be unfair to legal residents of Illinois. “Who it’s unfair to is our own students who cannot attend,” Ives recently told DuPage Policy Journal. “I think that we had a flight of students leaving our state for other universities that give them a better deal.” Illinois State University reported that it had 49 students who identified themselves as not in the country legally during the fall 2016 term. The number of illegal aliens who applied to become students in fall 2017 is 79. The university stresses on its website a core value of diversity. “Undocumented students … who apply to Illinois State are treated identically to any other U.S. citizen or permanent resident,” the university’s policy states. Illegal immigrants who want to study at the university may also be eligible for the in-state tuition rate; they will be asked to complete an affidavit when applying for that tuition rate, according to the university website. However, Illinois State University policies on need-based financial aid and state departmental scholarships are more nuanced. The school is prevented from handing out state or federal funds based on need to illegal immigrants, but those students can freely apply for state scholarships if they meet certain minimum requirements, according to the university website. Ives said she is uncertain if a new state law would need to be passed to create a statewide policy on whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to attend publicly funded universities. Taxpayers are already footing the bill for illegal immigrants to get primary and secondary education — through 12th grade — and Ives thinks state fiscal policies need to be realistic. “We have no budget, and we’re really broke,” she said of the state’s continuing fiscal crisis. TOWNHALL
— Corrupt Politician Exposed: Citizens Demand Sanctuary in Their Own Country – Arthur Schaper  (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, anti-Trumps make it clear that they a) want to fill America’s cities with illegals and b) want to drive out of those cities those individuals, organizations, and companies that are Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)
http://townhall.com/columnists/arthurschaper/2017/01/02/corrupt-politician-exposed-citizens-demand-sanctuary-in-their-own-country-n2266088
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The phrase “sanctuary city” should be redundant. Cities should be sanctuaries for citizens. Period. The surrounding walls of a community kept inhabitants safe from marauding tribes in the Middle Ages. To this day, Vatican City has its ancient surroundings. Israel has a fence, with a cement wall in key sections, to protect their citizenry from Islamic terrorists and West Bank agitators. Those cities are safe, or at least safer. American citizens, though, are finding less safety in their cities. In California, there are at least 35 sanctuary cities in the lawless sense: illegal aliens can live and work in these areas, and not worry about local enforcement cooperating with federal immigration authorities to deport them. How has this policy worked out? Ask Maria Espinoza of the Remembrance Project, and the thousands of American lives lost to illegal aliens—murderers, drunk-drivers, rapists, etc. who found safe haven on American streets. “Sanctuary cities” are Orwellian nonsense writ large. There is no safety, there is no security, and they undermine the very concept of city, which exists to serve and protect … citizens. In urban centers across the country, the very concept of “city” has been notoriously abused. Chicago, along with Los Angeles and New York City, have brazenly announced their sanctuary city status. Windy City Mayor Rahm Emanuel comforted the illegals in his midst that he would do everything possible to shield them from deportation. It’s too bad many of the residents (legal or not) get shot by gang bangers and mafia interests.)
— White Male Survival Guide 2017 – Katie Kieffer  (DIERSEN: What do you say to Whites who demonize, denigrate, and condemn Whites to curry favor with those who are anti-White?  What do you say to males who demonize, denigrate, and condemn males to curry favor with those who are anti-male?  What do you say to older people who demonize, denigrate, and condemn older people to curry favor with those who are anti-older people? I should write a book about the aforesaid in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois.)
http://townhall.com/columnists/katiekieffer/2017/01/02/white-male-survival-guide-2017-n2266079
(FROM THE ARTICLE: China got it wrong: 2017 is not the year of the rooster—it’s the year of the white male. 2017 is the year the white man takes back his worth. Black Male Supremacists. Unheard of. Brown Male Supremacists. Unheard of. Because it’s only trendy for American elites to bash white males. Especially white males who never owned slaves; white males who never “stole” land from Native Americans or Mexicans; and white males who never hired an unqualified male over a qualified female in the workplace. How do white men handle the hatred hurled their way? Good question. I’ve prepared a short survival guide for white men who wish to reclaim their dignity in America. Mayday, Mayday, Mayday  “Mayday” is an international radio call signal to denote distress. Elitist comments like the following seven examples help illustrate the distress in which white males find themselves.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: January is the big month for buying gym memberships. The excesses of the holiday season leave many of us looking to make improvements in our lives — a search that often leads straight to the elliptical machine. But what about your job and career? How have those been working out? Many people spend most of their waking hours at work or thinking about work. In the dim chill of a Monday morning in January, the prospect of another year at a job that fails to satisfy can be daunting, if not downright depressing. Is it time to ask for a raise, or to look for a new job altogether? Or do you just want to be happier where you are? You’ve come to the right place. Mitt Romney. The tide could be beginning to change, thanks to a visit to Chicago on Friday by Vice President-Elect Mike Pence that’s being organized by Wheaton resident and GOP fundraiser Lisa Wagner, who developed deep ties over the years with Republican officials in Indiana, Pence’s home state. “Pence didn’t come to Illinois during the campaign,” says Wagner, who tells me she had a week to organize the 11 a.m. Chicago Club event, after the Republican National Committee called and told her Pence was available. “He’s been around Donald Trump in a way few others have, and this is an opportunity for people to hear about his vision and what it’s like.” The event’s host committee includes GOP Gov. Bruce Rauner, U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam of Wheaton and Illinois GOP Chair Tim Schneider of Bartlett. Tickets start at $2,700 per person and go as high as $33,400 per couple who sign up as co-chairs.)

http://www.nwherald.com/2016/12/27/reeder-rauner-prepares-for-tough-2018-governor-race/a3xk2qh/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The interesting thing is that despite his loaded campaign coffers, Rauner is vulnerable. First of all, midterm elections almost always favor the party that doesn’t hold the White House. And given the animosity Democratic voters hold toward Donald Trump, particularly in blue states such as Illinois, Rauner likely will be swimming against the tide. It doesn’t mean he will drown, but it will be a tougher race than when he first captured the Executive Mansion. And I make that statement reluctantly. Of all of the governors who have served in my lifetime, he comes the closest to matching my own libertarian ideology. I want government out of my wallet and out of our private lives. But Illinoisans are weary of the constant war between Madigan and Rauner. Rauner views his election as a voter indictment of the longtime political boss, who he blames for Illinois’ fiscal ills. And he’s right for blaming Madigan. But Rauner has done a poor job of messaging about why he is engaged in this struggle. I’ve covered every governor since James R. Thompson, and this administration has done the worst job by far of sharing its vision for the state. Because of this, voters view this conflict as a personality clash between two egos rather than a conflict between divergent political philosophies.)

http://www.conservativehq.com/article/24795-transition-trump-trump-receives-warning-affirmative-action-police
(FROM THE ARTICLE: As the Donald Trump transition team has worked diligently since Election Day to find the most qualified people to serve in leadership roles in his upcoming administration, the forces of the left are keeping score — not only in terms of the backgrounds and histories of the nominees, but also on what they look like. Of course there have been a plethora of media reports about Trump choosing too many out-of-touch rich people, militaristic generals and greedy profit-centered business tycoons to run federal departments. But what’s really bothering liberals the most is the lack of so-called “diversity” in Trump’s proposed leadership circle. S.A. Miller writes in the Washington Times, “A top adviser to Donald Trump on diversity issues is offering no apologies for the preponderance of white men filling the Cabinet and key jobs in the new administration, insisting that the lack of minorities reflected the president-elect’s color-blind approach to hiring decisions. “Bruce Levell, who spearheaded a minority outreach effort for the Trump campaign and now serves as an adviser to the transition team, said that Mr. Trump isn’t looking to check off diversity boxes with his hiring decisions — and that’s OK with black and Hispanic Americans.” Well, it’s not okay to the most race-conscious black and Hispanic Americans. They want to see as many non-white faces surrounding Trump as possible. Miller also notes that of 18 Cabinet-level picks so far, Mr. Trump has selected 13 white men, two women of Asian descent and one white woman. The only black nominee so far is retired neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate Ben Carson, tapped to run the Department of Housing and Urban Development. And that’s not all — of seven senior counselors named to his point, only Kellyanne Conway has two X chromosomes. Almost sounds like a poker game, doesn’t it? There’s little doubt that “affirmative action” will be a hot topic for the left in assaulting the Trump administration in the coming years. Whereas our society judges organizations such as the NFL for the quantity of minority coaches it employs, the left will certainly be counting the number of minorities in positions close to Trump – and they’re not going to like what they see. These same people may not feel as much angst towards the dearth of representation of women, however, because to liberals, Republican and conservative women don’t count towards their quotas. To them, if a woman doesn’t have some sort of bra-burning advocacy for abortion on demand in her background, she doesn’t count towards membership in the female gender. And the same definitely goes for homosexuals as well, or as is more commonly accepted these days, folks in the “LGBTQ community.” (What exactly does the “Q” – queer – demographic constitute that isn’t covered by the other letters?) It’s common knowledge that close Trump advisor Peter Thiel is homosexual, but he hasn’t yet been offered an official position in the administration, so he won’t count towards an affirmative action head count either. In fact, Thiel is enduring the usual level of leftist hatred for his willingness to work with Trump. As a candidate to lead the Food and Drug Administration, Thiel is being attacked from all sides. Robert Goldberg writes at The Hill, “Trump has promised to find ways to accelerate the pace of medical innovation. And so groups such as Public Citizen and the Center for American Progress that make a living and maintain a media presence bashing the pharmaceutical industry are howling that Thiel wants to water down the scientific and conflict of interests standards regulating the FDA and NIH, in order to allow Big Pharma to get rich by exposing consumers to dangerous, ineffective treatments.” While it’s true that in this case the liberals aren’t specifically targeting Thiel’s sexual orientation, the fact that “one of them” is actually advocating for loosening government controls must anger them to the core. The same goes for their opposition to Ben Carson taking over the direction of HUD. If a black man favors more private enterprise in housing, that’s a bad thing. Meanwhile, the media and liberals fail to note that Trump has placed several Jewish individuals in prominent roles. Commerce and Treasury nominees Wilbur Ross and Steve Mnuchin are both Jewish, right? Muslims must feel slighted. I’m sure that’s the way the left looks at it. It all doesn’t really matter, however. When push comes to shove, Trump could assemble a cabinet chock full of so-called ethnic minorities, women and folks with alternative lifestyles and he would still be labeled as racially and culturally biased by the left because of his colorblind policies. They’re not interested in someone’s background half as much as what he or she believes government’s role should be in enforcing the leftist accepted cultural norms. Need proof? George W. Bush elevated African-Americans to positions never held before by people of color and was there any credit given? Wasn’t Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice black enough? Does Elaine Chao lose her Asian identity because she’s a Republican and is married to Mitch McConnell? And we don’t even need to mention Justice Clarence Thomas here, a man who’s endured decades of race hatred and scorn because he dares to be conservative and black at the same time. So don’t give too much credence to the left’s ethnic scorecard where Trump’s team is concerned. There’s just no way to satisfy them, short of packing his cabinet with the Eric Holders and Loretta Lynches of the world.)
