They deny that my Democrat IRS superiors used up-or-out, that is, that they used age discrimination, to not promote me to GS-13. I ultimately did make GS-13 when I was 38 in 1986, but it was not until after I had a) earned an MBA in 1976, b) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, c) transferred to GAO in 1980, d) earned a master’s degree in accounting in 1980, e) passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt tin 1981, and f) became a licensed CPA in 1981. My Democrat IRS and GAO superiors promoted many of my Democrat coworkers to GS-13 ahead of me a) who had less work experience than I had, who had less education than I had, who had no professional certifications, and/or had no professional license and/or b) who were minority, female, younger, and/or veteran.
https://www.aarp.org/advocacy/fighting-against-age-discrimination/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: 1. Backing legislation that reinforces worker rights. On a national scale, AARP is backing bipartisan bills that support older workers. In May, AARP sent letters to the House and Senate endorsing the reintroduction of the Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act. This legislation would restore protections, which a 2009 U.S. Supreme Court decision stripped away, that required older workers to prove their age was the sole reason they experienced an adverse employment action. AARP also threw its support behind two more bipartisan bills in September. The Protecting Older Americans Act lets workers choose to pursue age discrimination claims in court rather than being forced into arbitration. The Protect Older Job Applicants Act would expand protections under federal law to include people who are applying for jobs, even before they have reached the hiring stage.)

— For the first time, there will be more workers in states with a minimum wage of $15 an hour or higher than those with the federal minimum of $7.25. DD: Back in the good old days, I worked for the minimum wage (about $13/hour in today’s dollars) part-time during my junior and senior years in high school and full-time the summer in between 1964-1966. After I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 years old in 1980, my Democrat GAO supervisors were furious when they learned that because of my IRS employment, they could not use probationary procedures to get rid of me. In 1970, my Chicago Heights Firestone Store boss unsuccessfully tried to use probationary procedures to not hire me. The Firestone Store Chicago district office hired me and assigned me to his store. He never would have hired me. He forced me to pass a 2-week probationary period in Firestone’s Gary Indiana Store. He disapproved of my avoiding the Vietnam War draft. He disapproved of my being Protestant. He disapproved of my being German American. He disapproved of me and my ancestors living in Crete and their having been in America since 1844. The aforesaid led to my accepting a job offer from Oldsmobile in 1971. But Oldsmobile withdrew that job offer saying it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Some people are performers. In June 2020, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer led a group kneeling in the U.S. Capitol wearing African kente stoles. National Football League end zones say “Choose Love” and “It Takes All of Us.” Empathy? More like images over action. Then there are coddlers. They paternalistically throw money at problems: welfare, drug programs, ObamaCare. They create rules and regulations to protect “marginalized” groups: Title IX, affirmative action and federal contract set-asides. To pay for it, they rationalize redistribution of wealth so the world can be “fair” for everyone. This progressive playbook often fails. See low-income housing, preferential college admissions and rising insurance premiums. Is letting men on women’s swim teams and in women’s bathrooms empathy? I can’t get there. . .New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is a coddler: “We will prove that there is no problem too large for government to solve, and no concern too small for it to care about.” Yikes. Is that empathy or a threat? Sadly, we know how the latter ends. Lately there has been talk of a $140,000 poverty line for a family of four. See what I mean? Economist Milton Friedman put it best: “One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.” Intentions like “social justice” inevitably lead to organizing and activism and raised taxes—empathy is expensive!—and redistribution of wealth, without solving the underlying problems. For me, empathy and that elusive righteousness is about restoring lost dignity. And that often means setting up rules and then getting out of the way and letting freedom and free markets do their magic. There is little political credit for that whole “freedom” thing. Just results. The American way is: Do what you want, but respect the dignity of others. An essential part of respect is to not be pitied. Freedom is dignity. That’s true empathy.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A LinkedIn post by Rohan Verma, CEO and co-founder of Breathe Well-being, has sparked a discussion online about privilege, merit and the role of luck in shaping life outcomes. In his post, Verma argued that educational pedigree and family background play a decisive role in determining future success. He claimed that those who attend elite institutions such as Ivy League universities or India’s IITs and IIMs are far more likely to see their children enter top colleges and corporate leadership roles, while people engaged in low-paid or manual labor largely come from poor families, irrespective of talent or hard work. “If you went to an Ivy League or the IIT/IIM route, your kids will likely attend a good college. And there is zero chance that they will end up doing manual labor. If you are a billionaire, your kids will 100% attend Yale, Stanford, or Harvard (or something similar). And they will later become Board Chairmen and CEOs,” Verma wrote in his post. “On the other hand, – 100% of people doing lowly paid jobs or manual labor come from poor families — regardless of their IQ, talent, or propensity for hard work,” he continued. “This is how privilege persists over generations,” Verma wrote, adding that many manual laborers could have been corporate leaders “had they been born differently”. He concluded by saying that “probably 90% of life is luck,” with only a small fraction accounting for inspirational stories of people who rise against all odds. True humility and awareness, he added, come from recognizing which parts of one’s life fall into that 90%.

— Accounting Program DD: I will forever regret not majoring in accounting from the beginning. I wrongly believed that I could never pass the CPA examination. I did not start taking graduate evening accounting courses until I was 27. I did not take and pass the CPA examination on my first attempt until I was 30. I did not earn a master’s degree in accounting until I was 31. I did not take and pass the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt until I was 32. I did not become a licensed CPA until I was 32. By then, my IRS and GAO superiors and the accounting profession considered me to be far too old. They would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran. I should have majored in accounting at UIC 1966-1968, NIU 1969-1970, and Loyola 1972-1976.

— Would ICE Have Deported Jesus at Christmas? AWAY WITH THE MANGER: How the Left Tries to Weaponize Christmas Against Trump. DD: How strongly have Democrat leaders taken over your church?
https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/12/14/would-ice-have-deported-jesus-christmas/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: This year, Catholics in Massachusetts are protesting President Donald Trump’s immigration policies by swapping “Away in a Manger” for “Away With the Manger.” This marks yet another instance of Trump opponents weaponizing the Christmas story to demonize immigration enforcement by claiming Jesus was a refugee and suggesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement would have arrested and deported the Christ child in the manger. The Catholic priest at St. Susanna Parish in Dedham, Massachusetts, set up a classic nativity scene with shepherds, sheep, wise men, and … a sign reading “ICE was here” in the place where Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus would normally be. While the Catholic leadership opposed this “divisive political messaging,” the Rev. Stephen Josoma blamed the Trump administration for any division. Meanwhile, Lake Street Church of Evanston, Illinois, put baby Jesus in zip ties and an emergency blanket, and placed gas masks on the faces of Mary and Joseph. The church said this symbolizes the conditions of ICE detention facilities and the use of tear gas on “peaceful protesters, journalists, and community members advocating for immigration reform.” “The Holy Family were refugees,” the church posted on Facebook. “By witnessing this familiar story through the reality faced by migrants today, we hope to restore its radical edge, and to ask what it means to celebrate the birth of a refugee child while turning away those who follow in that child’s footsteps.” Was Jesus a Refugee? These strained analogies rest on a kernel of truth. According to Matthew 2:13-23, an angel appeared to Joseph, warning him to flee to Egypt because King Herod the Great aimed to kill Jesus. Herod ordered the slaughter of male children in Bethlehem, but Jesus survived in Egypt. God sent another angel to Joseph later, advising him to return to Israel because “those who sought the child’s life are dead.” Jesus arguably fit the definition of a refugee: someone forced to leave his or her country to escape war or persecution. However, anyone seeking to tie Jesus’ sojourn in Egypt to the plight of refugees or illegal aliens in America today will at once encounter a plethora of problems. Herod, the king who sought to kill Jesus, owed his position to the Roman Senate. Jesus fled Roman-ruled Judea to reside in Roman-ruled Egypt, and then returned to Roman-ruled Judea. Politically, Jesus’ flight to Egypt resembles a conservative family fleeing New York for Florida, or a liberal family moving from Texas to Illinois, more than it does a Somali refugee seeking asylum in the U.S. Jesus did not immigrate to Egypt and did not seek to become a citizen there. Furthermore, the Roman Empire at the time did not grant most of the population the right to vote, and it did not award government benefits to Jewish refugees in Egypt. Modern Western democratic welfare states need to regulate immigration more heavily than ancient empires did, partly because immigrants and refugees often claim benefits from the public purse, and these aliens may also seek to influence politics by voting or other means. Merely shouting, “Jesus was a refugee!” does nothing to address the serious concerns that illegal immigration poses. Caring for ‘The Least of These’ Christians should, of course, heed the Matthew 25 parable in which Jesus says God will reward us for helping “the least of these.” We should care for the sick, feed the hungry, and clothe the naked, to the best of our ability. These commands to love our neighbor do not extend to using the force of the state to redistribute funds, however. Jesus calls on us to love our neighbors, not to bully our neighbors into forking over cash so the government can then serve other neighbors. That parable urges us to see Jesus in the least fortunate, and Christians are right to provide aid to those who are struggling. That doesn’t mean, however, that we must sacrifice national sovereignty or oppose the enforcement of immigration law. In our globalized world, Christians can and should help those in other countries before they seek to enter the U.S., and it would be grotesque for Christians to prioritize aid for those who violated the law to come to America over legal immigrants or the poor people who are still struggling in their own countries. Contrary to the suggestion of the Evanston church, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were not political activists. Yes, Jesus came to usher in a new kingdom—but when the Jews sought to make him a king, he refused. Jesus did not set himself up as a political leader. Rather, he and his followers urged Jews and Christians to pay their taxes and to submit to the ruling authorities, knowing that the spiritual freedom of the gospel matters far more than any political cause. Jesus knew of political movements against Roman oppression, and he did not endorse them. Jesus’ decision not to lead a political rebellion against Rome likely contributed to the Jewish leaders’ scheme to have him executed. None of this is to say that Christians cannot support political causes, but it does mean that Mary and Joseph likely would not have joined the agitators who seek to block ICE from enforcing immigration law. Perhaps more importantly, ICE would not have removed Jesus from the manger—any more than it would remove conservative New Yorkers from Florida or liberal Texans from Illinois. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, not an excuse to demonize law enforcement. It’s high time for St. Susanna Parish to put the Christ child back in the center of the nativity scene where he belongs.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: I spent years moderating focus groups, and I lost count of how many voters proudly said they “did their own research.” What that really meant was typing a candidate’s name into Google, glancing at ten blue links and, more often than not, closing the browser without clicking a thing. Now, voters searching for a candidate or issue are often getting a single neatly packaged answer assembled by artificial intelligence from whatever sources it finds most credible and clearly written. And if it answers their question, their “research” is done. That’s great if your campaign is one of those sources. If not, it’s a problem.)

FEDERAL NEWS NETWORK
— Congress faces a packed December agenda and big decisions including the search for a new Comptroller General as Gene Dodaro retires. DD: Comptroller Generals a) work for Congress and b) run GAO. GAO audits the federal government. Democrats do not want Republicans to audit Democrats. I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO 1980-1997. They wasted my career and forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997. They forced me to take a $23,472 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. They kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance.
https://federalnewsnetwork.com/congress/2025/12/congress-faces-a-packed-december-agenda-and-big-decisions-on-healthcare-subsidies/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Gerton: One thing that’s got to be on lawmakers’ minds in December is the retirement of the comptroller general, the head of the government accountability office. Gene Dodaro’s term ends at the end of the month. What are you hearing in terms of the maneuvering and the nomination for his replacement? Miller: Well, I think there’s actually a lot of nervousness right now about what is going to happen with him. He has been a steady hand on the rudder, as you know, for close to fifteen years now, and there’s really a lot of discussion about how they’re going to get a successor to him. And frankly, it’s not really clear what’s going to happen. You have this panel of lawmakers that are supposed to nominate the next person, but they’re also looking for some guidance from the White House because that will have a big role in the type of person that replaces him. And the fact that this is, you know, one of the most prominent unelected positions in the federal government, the fact that this person is really responsible for rooting out waste, which Republicans have said they want to do and that they tried to do with DOGE, how much of a leash is the new head of GAO going to have? Will the White House go along with Republicans? We’ve seen Republicans starting to assert their own voice a little bit more, saying that they want some independence here, or will the White House crush that and say, you know, President Trump says I want this person and we’re gonna put them in? So I think we’re going to see a lot of maneuvering here in the next few weeks because he will be gone, as you know, later in the month. Gerton: Do you think it’s an opportunity for Congress to push back or take back some of its authority? GAO is their oversight body. Miller: Right, exactly. I think there is because whether they’re Republican or Democrat, I think the institutionalists, at least, believe that this type of leadership is necessary. And there’s no question about it, whatever political stripe you’re from, this office does root out a substantial amount of waste. I mean, they talk about something along the lines of a $160 billion in the past year. And so also these lawmakers, let’s not forget, when they’re leading various committees or subcommittees, they rely on the GAO for investigations to try to find out what do we need to fix. Everybody’s talking about what needs to be done to make federal government better. Well, this is perfectly an example of where you find the areas where there are problems that the GAO identifies and then Congress can act and react and create legislation.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The United States has long been the world’s university. More than 1.6 million international students studied here last year, according to the 2024 SEVIS by the Numbers Report from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which tracks active F-1 visa holders. At the graduate level, many of them pay no tuition at all, receive annual stipends ranging from $25,000 to $65,000, and health benefits funded by U.S. universities and federal research grants. As someone who has run Health and Human Services departments in multiple states, I have seen how difficult it is for middle- and lower-income American families to send their children to college. Parents juggle extra jobs to afford tuition. Students borrow tens of thousands of dollars. Meanwhile, many foreign doctoral candidates enjoy full tuition waivers and monthly paychecks funded by American institutions. The imbalance is real. According to the 2023 National Science Foundation’s Survey of Earned Doctorates, approximately 90 percent of 215,000 international Ph.D. students in the United States receive full tuition support, salaries and health benefits. By comparison, only 84 percent of American students receive the same treatment. This has been a consistent trend. Data from 2019 to 2023 shows that temporary visa holders consistently have a slightly higher rate than U.S. citizens. Cornell University reports that 97 percent of its doctoral students are fully funded. The same pattern holds across major research universities. The result is that over a five year space more than a million non-U.S. students are effectively educated in highly sought after doctoral programs for free underwritten by American resources. No other developed nation does this at such scale. In most countries, foreign students pay higher tuition than domestic students. Scholarships for non-citizens are rare and usually tied to explicit national interests. America stands alone in offering open-ended funding that includes tuition, health coverage, and salaries to foreign students who may or may not remain here after graduation. Beyond financial considerations, prioritizing American doctoral students in funded positions would ensure that our undergraduates benefit from instructors who are fully fluent in English and deeply familiar with American cultural and educational norms. Many international Ph.D. students, face significant proficiency challenges that lead to communication barriers in the classroom, as evidenced by frequent complaints from U.S. undergraduates about difficulties understanding accents, explanations, and instructions. We have created a system that rewards global recruitment without requiring any justification that the position serves a defined American need. Even with justification our own citizens deserve the first opportunity. This situation doesn’t come without danger to national security.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Ultimately, the heart of the matter is that for those Americans who receive Medicare Part B premiums, which are expected to jump a whopping 11.5% in 2025, to around $206.20 monthly, up from $185, this COLA increase doesn’t amount to much of anything. Consider that for most retirees, these premiums for Medicare Part B are going to be automatically deducted from their future Social Security checks in 2026. What this means is that a sizable portion, if not the entirety, of someone’s 2.8% COLA increase will be lost well before any check hits a bank account. There is no way around this, and it’s quickly becoming a frightening reality for millions of Americans who rely on Social Security. The situation is basically summed up by saying that as one government benefit rises slightly, another offsets it almost immediately. Now, factor in the fact that 2026 is going to mark the eighth double-digit increase in Medicare Part B premiums in the past 25 years, and it’s just disheartening news all around. — When asked “What’s a positive spin on Diersen’s role?” Google AI says: “Examining the positive aspects of an individual’s role within a political context often involves looking at their contributions to informing the public, engaging with their community, and working towards goals they believe will benefit their political party or area. Such a role could be viewed positively by highlighting their efforts to: Inform Constituents: Curating and sharing political news and commentary can be seen as an effort to keep fellow members of a political community informed on relevant issues and perspectives. Promote Discussion: By sharing information from various sources, an individual might aim to encourage broader discussion and understanding of different viewpoints within their political group. Support Party Goals: Engaging in activities that align with a political party’s platform and working to support candidates who represent those values can be viewed as a positive contribution to the party’s objectives. Demonstrate Civic Engagement: Volunteering time and effort in political activities demonstrates a commitment to civic participation and can inspire others to get involved. Contribute to Historical Record: Long-term involvement can contribute to the institutional memory and continuity of a political organization.” SEE: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22david+Diersen%22+republican – Dave Diersen

— How millions of illegal immigrants got jobs in the US. DD: All my employers would have hired noncitizens instead of me if they could have. My critics/opponents cannot say that because they did not have to take bad jobs like I had to because their parents had lots of money. Their parents bought them cars, paid their college expenses, and got them good jobs.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/investigations/3897219/how-millions-illegal-immigrants-got-jobs-us/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Millions of illegal immigrants residing in the United States have managed to get jobs despite their immigration status. The fact that 8.5 million illegal immigrants have obtained work in the country is a result of employers paying workers under the table, unknowingly hiring workers who have committed document fraud, and hiring non-U.S. citizens whom the government authorizes to work temporarily. The largest number of illegal immigrants work in construction, followed by accommodation, food services, and manufacturing. Immigrants who are paid under the table are the most difficult for the federal government to track because they are often employed in person-to-person gigs. These include workers hired at home improvement stores or as house cleaners who offer their services on social media marketplaces, as well as businesses such as landscaping companies and restaurants. All employers in the U.S. are legally required to verify that new hires have completed an I-9 form, which requires the applicant’s Social Security number, proof of identity, and work authorization documentation. Select immigrants navigating immigration proceedings in court or who are temporarily protected from deportation may be issued a Social Security card for the purpose of working legally in the U.S., but this document does not confer U.S. citizenship or lawful presence. The Bipartisan Policy Center defended workers who are illegal immigrants and said many choose to file federal taxes on their own at the year’s end despite working off the books. In this case, workers without Social Security numbers use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number issued by the IRS to report income and pay taxes on what they earn. “Many undocumented immigrants find ways to legally pay both federal income and payroll taxes even if they don’t have a Social Security number (which is normally required) and even if their income was earned by working illegally,” the BPC wrote in an analysis on illegal immigrants in the workplace. “Though there are many undocumented immigrants who are paid ‘under the table’ for their work and do not pay taxes on their income, many others do pay in the hope that it will someday help them become citizens,” the BPC analysis reads.)

— Empowering New Yorkers through affordability. DD: What did you do to afford things? I took bad jobs that my peers would not stoop to take. I did yard work 1962-1964. I delivered newspapers 1962-1966. I washed dishes 1964-1966. I cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966. I delivered mail 1966-1969. I worked on an automotive assembly line in 1970. I sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1971-1972. I pumped more gasoline 1971-1972. I collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980. I audited federal agencies 1980-1997. According to my critics/opponents, I was grossly overpaid for those jobs and my pension and retirement benefits are much too generous. To qualify myself for better paying jobs, I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree, three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license.

https://www.aol.com/articles/rachel-cruze-boomers-really-blame-161605313.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Because baby boomers have lived more within their means, avoiding overly expensive vacations and things like home remodels, and sometimes staying at the same jobs for years or even decades, Cruze calls them a very “content generation.” Millennials, on the other hand, are “trying to keep up with the Joneses” and often lead unsustainably expensive lifestyles, she said. Boomers may have been more content because when they turned 30, jobs were stable and housing was affordable. Millennials reached that age amid soaring costs, student loans and fewer long-term guarantees regarding the job market. Although the U.S. today is harder to afford for young people, millennials are leading the renovation trend, with 60% planning projects in 2025, according to Housing Wire. Millennials also are one of the biggest groups that were planning to increase their spending on travel at the end of 2024, according to Deloitte. Millennials’ spending habits have landed them deeper in debt, and there has been a huge increase in members of the generation entering debt consolidation, as per USA Today. Their debt can’t be directly attributed to the boomer generation, though. Instead, it may simply be that millennials are making costlier choices than their parents, along with, of course, living in a costlier world in general.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “There is a broad misconception that there is no poverty in DuPage County,” said Kara Murphy, president of the DuPage Health Coalition, a nonprofit that connects essential healthcare services to low-income individuals. It is true that “on balance” DuPage County is a more affluent community, “but it is also a populous community with just under one million residents,” she said at the Nov. 20 event. “There are more low-income families living in DuPage County than the entire population of 89 of the 100 counties in Illinois,” Murphy said. Murphy added that DuPage County communities must support “individuals at every income level.” “The strongest and most thriving communities create space and opportunities for people who are low-wage, medium-wage and high-wage earners. Communities that are only accessible to individuals at the highest income levels will experience incredible deficits in their ability to provide all the services that all the community needs. We need a diversity of opportunities for people in different places in their life cycles.” To determine income eligibility for assistance programs, many organizations in DuPage County utilize income levels that are 250% or even 300% of the federal poverty level. “Because the reality is the federal poverty level is dramatically inadequate to be able to meet basic needs,” Murphy said. Based 2023 data, using the 200% mark of the federal poverty level, there are 142,000 individuals living in poverty and that number is dramatically increasing, said Amy Van Polen, CEO of Bridge Communities, a nonprofit that provides transitional housing to families facing homelessness. “Those are the fastest growing numbers of our community,” Van Polen said. “Forty-four percent of renters in this county are rent burdened, meaning that they pay more than 30% of their income toward rent. That is not sustainable.” Many college educated individuals who are “20 something or 30 something” are finding it difficult to find affordable housing, she said. “Lots of $3,000-a-month, one-bedroom apartments are being built.”)

https://foxillinois.com/news/armstrong-army-strong/donald-trumps-fight-with-marjorie-taylor-greene-is-a-warning-sign-for-republicans
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Republican Party under Trump has always been a coalition held together by energy, grievance, and a sense of shared purpose. But coalitions — even fearsome ones — require space for internal disagreement. They require room for ideological variance, strategic differences, and the occasional intra-party critique. Without that space, a movement begins to cannibalize its own allies, mistaking loyalty for uniformity and criticism for betrayal. . .There is also a deeper strategic issue. Disagreement, when handled well, strengthens a movement. It forces reflection. It sharpens arguments. It prevents blind spots. In a party that is trying to build a durable America First agenda with real policy depth, suppressing dissent is a recipe for stagnation. Trump’s greatest strength has always been his ability to break political orthodoxies; he should not now create a new orthodoxy that is just as brittle as the one he once shattered. Republicans need a healthy internal dialogue, not a chorus line. If Trump wants a party that will govern successfully — not merely idolize him — he must recognize that even loyal supporters will occasionally challenge him. And sometimes, they should. A strong leader does not see disagreement as betrayal. A strong leader sees it as proof that the movement he built is maturing, thinking, and preparing for the responsibilities of lasting power. . .If the GOP becomes a party where dissent is punished and loyalty is the only ideology, it will implode not because of Democrats — but because of its own refusal to let its members say, “We support you, but here’s where we disagree.”

FROM WIKIPEDIA: “For Germany perpetrating the Holocaust and starting World War II, Germans are often stereotyped as Nazis. This stereotype, while now rare, persists to this day. After the war, the German people were often viewed with contempt because they were blamed by other Europeans for Nazi crimes. Germans visiting abroad, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s, attracted insults from locals, and from foreigners who may have lost their families or friends in the atrocities. Today in Europe and worldwide (particularly in countries that fought against the Axis), Germans may be scorned by elderly people who were alive to experience the atrocities committed by Nazi Germans or by veterans who had fought against the Nazis during World War II.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The report shows that the civilian federal workforce (excluding DOD and Postal Service) reached roughly 2.9 million employees and had a disclosed payroll of $270 billion in FY 2024. That’s a 24% jump from FY 2020, when payroll stood near $217 billion. The size of the federal workforce grew by about 5% during that period. . .The biggest change is not in hiring. It is the compensation structure. The number of employees earning six-figure salaries has exploded since 2020. Federal workers earning $100,000+ jumped 49%. Those earning $200,000+ soared 82%. The number above $300,000 rose 84%. In 117 of 127 major agencies (and in the White House as well), the average salary at the time the data were calculated exceeded $100,000. As noted above, OPM data as of March 2025 showed an average federal salary of almost $110,000. The report highlights a striking trend in the federal workforce: the number of highly compensated federal employees has grown significantly. The report highlights several items, including the highest federal salaries. In FY 2024, 956 federal employees made more than the President of the United States, who has had a salary of $400,000 since 2001. There are more employees earning more than $400,000 than ever before in Open The Books’ payroll records dating back to 2010. 939 of the employees who out earned the president were medical officers at the Veterans Health Administration. Four of the employees listed are dentists. 15 doctors at the National Institutes of Health earn more than $400,000, including the four highest-paid employees in the entire federal workforce. The director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute was paid $519,246, breaking his own record for the highest federal salary in American history. Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was the federal employee of the year in 2020, once held the record for being the highest-paid federal employee with a $480,654 salary in 2022. An additional 36 federal employees earned exactly $400,000, the same salary as the president. A few years ago, it was rare for any federal employee to earn more than the president.
