That directly resulted in my accepting a job offer from IRS to be a GS-7 (currently $48,445/year) Revenue Officer in Chicago. But then, my Firestone boss offered me a part-time job pumping gasoline which I accepted. Before I started working for IRS and working part-time for Firestone, I went on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas. My 1969 Dodge Charger SE was stolen in Chicago in August. That directly resulted in my buying a new 1972 Corvette and a 1962 Chevy Bel Air for everyday use. At the end of the year, IRS granted my request to be assigned to its Harvey office.)
