(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Department of Government Efficiency is continuing its attempts to expand its reach beyond executive branch agencies, this time seeking to embed in an independent legislative watchdog that finds waste, fraud and abuse in the government. But the U.S. Government Accountability Office, a legislative branch entity that helps audit government spending and suggest ways to make it more efficient, rejected that request on Friday by noting that GAO is not subject to presidential executive orders. The request to GAO had cited President Trump’s Jan. 20 executive order creating DOGE, which, despite its name, is not a formal agency. DOGE’s request to GAO and its response was first reported by NOTUS. A spokesperson for GAO confirmed DOGE’s outreach, and reiterated that “as a legislative branch agency, GAO is not subject to Executive Orders and has therefore declined any requests to have a DOGE team assigned to GAO.” In an announcement to employees posted Friday afternoon, GAO leadership said they sent a letter to Acting Administrator of DOGE Amy Gleason and notified members of Congress, according to a copy of the notice shared with NPR by an employee not authorized to speak publicly. The GAO regularly releases reports that highlight ways to improve government efficiency, like a May 13 review of federal programs with fragmented, overlapping, or duplicative actions it says could save over $100 billion in spending. But there’s been little overlap between GAO’s work and DOGE’s actions so far. “DOGE’s attempted intrusion into an independent, nonpartisan legislative branch agency is a direct assault on our nation’s sacred separation of powers,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, which oversees GAO, in a statement to NPR. “DOGE cannot and must not have any access to GAO. Oversight Democrats are monitoring this situation closely and stand behind GAO’s well-established status as a critical legislative branch agency.” The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about DOGE’s attempts to place a team at GAO. . .DOGE’s efforts to embed at GAO also heighten growing tensions between Congress and the executive branch. Leaders of the Milton Township Republican Organization rudely gerrymandered my precinct in 2015. Republican leaders rudely ended my chairmanship of TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois in 2012 and my membership on the Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) Steering Committee in 2007. My critics/opponents promote equal outcome, that is, according to them, no matter what your demographics are, you should be as successful at what you do as those who do not share your demographics, and if you don’t, it is because of discrimination. I passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt. Few of those who took those examinations were minorities and/or women. Even fewer passwd the examinations on their first attempt. According to my critics/opponents, I passed the examinations because I benefitted from discrimination against minorities and against women. If your children are White and/or male, you should tell them that Democrats and RINOs will use up-or-out to get rid of them if they are not making at least $100,000 by age 25, $200,000/year by age 30, $300,000 by age 35, $400,000 by age 40, etc. Because of that, unless your children become Democrats, they should do everything that they can to get good grades, to get the best ACT/SAT score that they can, to get accepted by the best college that they can, and to pick the right major. My Democrat IRS and GAO superiors used up-or-out to get rid of me. The Democrats who run the federal government use up-or-out to get rid of their employees who are not Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran and who they do not promote to GS-13 ($117,807) by age 25, GS-14 ($139,211) by age 30, GS-15 ($163,749) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service ($195,200) by age 40. Extremely few federal employees make the aforesaid promotion deadlines. My Democrat IRS superiors got rid of me because I am not a Democrat, minority, female, or veteran and because I did not make GS-12 ($99,069) until I was 25 and I did not make GS-13 until I was 38.
