(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Senate’s bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act is not a health care bill. It’s a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans, paid for by a dramatic reduction in healthcare funding for approximately 23 million poor, disabled and working middle class Americans. America’s wealthiest taxpayers (earning more than $200,000 a year, $250,000 for couples) would get a tax cut totaling $346 billion over 10 years, representing what they save from no longer financing healthcare for lower-income Americans.)

My having worked for Firestone Stores 1970-1972 and for IRS 1971-1980 helped me avoid exorbitant interest rates.  My wife and I borrowed to buy 1017 East Harrison in Wheaton in 1978 and to have 915 Cove Court built in Wheaton in 1984. My having worked for IRS 1971-1980 and for GAO 1980-1997 and my wife’s having worked for FBI 1968-1970 and for the U.S. League of Savings Institutions 1970-1992 helped us avoid exorbitant interest rates.)

http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/cpd-touts-mobile-ballistics-lab-loan-cultural-awareness-training/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Earlier Monday, Emanuel and Johnson invited reporters to the DuSable Museum of African American History in the Washington Park neighborhood, where 56 police recruits became the first to go through a day of cultural awareness training — a new requirement for future cops. Because violence most often effects those in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, police interact more often than not with African Americans and other people of color, Johnson said. “Many of you will begin your careers in these areas and it’s important that you understand the history that created the conditions in these neighborhoods,” Johnson said.)

WASHINGTON EXAMINER
— Make federal pensions transparent – Rep. Ron DeSantis and Adam Andrzejewski (DIERSEN: Questions for DeSantis and Andrzejewski: If you had started as a GS-4 federal employee when you were 18 like I did, how fast and how far would you have been promoted and why?  Would you have made GS-13 (currently $94,610) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $111,801) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $131,508) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $161,900) by age 40 and why?  Democrats run the federal government. When will critics of the federal government focus on patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation?  From the beginning of time, government employees have been viciously demonized, viciously denigrated, and viciously condemned. Many millions have not and will not seek a job with the federal government a) because the pay and benefits are terrible, b) because the advancement opportunities are terrible, c) because they lack required education, work experience, professional certifications, and/or professional licenses, d) because they cannot pass an employment test, e) because they cannot pass a background investigation, f) because they cannot pass a physical examination, g) because they cannot take the demonization, denigration, and condemnation that comes with being a federal employee or federal retiree, and/or h) because they are Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran and they know that the federal government discriminates against the aforesaid.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Every year, the federal government pays $125 billion in tax dollars for federal pensions. In spite of this being such a large amount of money, there is a remarkable lack of transparency surrounding these funds. Taxpayers deserve to know the details of the lucrative pensions of career bureaucrats and members of Congress. Basic questions deserve answers: How many years were worked, how much money was paid-in and by whom, how quickly did they break-even on their own contributions, and just how much did the taxpayers finance? Releasing data on federal pensions will require an act of Congress, and we are leading the way. The Taxpayer Funded Pension Disclosure Act will empower citizens with the data and technologies to hold their government accountable like never before. Today, pension data is not merely opaque; it is literally hidden in an underground complex in Pennsylvania. Federal employees hand-calculate federal pensions in a process that has not changed since the Cold War era. How many mistakes has the government made in that cavernous complex? No one knows because we’re all in the dark. The case for greater federal pension transparency can easily be made by looking at the fraud that has already been exposed by non-profit organizations like Open The Books at the state level. In the 32 states that have pension transparency – including California, Illinois, New York and Oregon – citizens have exposed significant amounts of waste and mismanagement. Auditors at Open the Books uncovered a pair of union bosses in Illinois who taught as substitutes for one day in public schools and then retired, in order to collect a pension that will amount to $1 million dollars over their lifetime. At the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, data shows that a police lieutenant with a final salary of $129,000 received a starting pension of $172,000. An assistant airport operations manager retired with a final salary of $89,000, but soon began collecting a $103,000 pension. An electrician quit with a base salary of $76,000 and collected a pension of $79,000. With relatively little transparency, we’ve found numerous examples of waste and abuse across the country. Consider what we’d find if we could see more at the federal level. For instance, former IRS chief Lois Lerner used her authority to infringe the rights of American citizens and consistently obstructed congressional investigations. Wouldn’t it be nice to see her pension information? Her pension is estimated to equal nearly $2 million in lifetime payout. According to the Office of Personnel Management, in 2012, 21,000 retired federal employees were collecting pensions exceeding $100,000. Since then, the number has likely doubled or tripled. Moody’s estimates federal employee pensions have a $3.5 trillion-dollar unfunded liability, with taxpayers on the hook to guarantee it all. All of this information should be posted online in real time. Revealing this data across the board will allow citizens and policymakers to have a productive debate about pensions. Pulling this data out of the government’s underground pension cave and into the light will protect taxpayers, retirees, and near-retirees who have a right to ensure these taxpayer dollars are well-spent.)

COOK POLITICAL REPORT
— Governors: Overview
http://cookpolitical.com/story/10397
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The fifth seat is in Illinois where GOP Gov. Bruce Rauner is seeking a second term. Rauner has been under siege for much of his term in a stand off with the Democratic-controlled legislature over the state’s budget – or rather, the lack of one. The frontrunner for the Democratic nomination is billionaire J.B. Pritzker whose willingness to spend his personal wealth erases Rauner’s financial advantage: the Governor has already put $50 million into his campaign. As a Republican in a very blue state, Rauner is the most vulnerable incumbent seeking re-election next year.)

Their not urging GAO to settle continues to be used by my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes to hint/imply/argue/shout that the following adverse actions that GAO took against me were justified: forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, not promoting me beyond GS-13, keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forcing me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.)

FEDERAL NEWS RADIO
— Where is the federal workforce, and why does that matter? – Jeff Neal  (DIERSEN: How many federal employees and federal retirees are there in your precinct, in your municipality, in your township/ward, in your county, and in Illinois?)
https://federalnewsradio.com/commentary/2017/06/where-is-the-federal-workforce-and-why-does-that-matter/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: When you look at the map, you can see a couple of things. The first is obvious. There is a large concentration of federal employees in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. In Maryland, for example, the number of federal jobs equals 2.17 percent of the population. It is in the national capital region, so that is to be expected. What may be more surprising is the ratio in middle America, Alaska and Hawaii. In Alaska, the number is 1.48 percent. Other states with high ratios of federal jobs/population are Hawaii (1.55 percent), New Mexico (1.05 percent), Oklahoma (0.97 percent), South Dakota (0.96 percent) and other states in the center of the country.)

Residents of districts zoned R-1, R-2 and R-3 — all dominated by single-family homes — can ban home-sharing outright or impose restrictions more rigid than the citywide ordinance. But to do that, residents of those zoning districts must gather valid signatures from 25 percent of their precinct’s registered voters within 90 days; the clock starts when the resident obtains the petition.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: These days, having $1 million just isn’t “wealthy” enough.  A recent survey of over 1,000 Americans shows the bar has shifted higher. Now you need an average of $2.4 million to be considered a wealthy person in America, according to the survey by Charles Schwab, which surveyed Americans aged 21 to 75. Of course, few people achieve such a milestone. Only about 10% of Americans are worth $1 million or more, according to a 2017 report by investor research firm Spectrem Group. In fact, to be considered wealthy by this new criteria, you’d need to have about 30 times more than the approximately $80,000 net worth of the average U.S. household, according to the most recent data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Chicago attorney Aubrey Parker and her pediatrician wife will be among the throngs attending this year’s Pride Parade on June 25. The couple have attended the annual event before but this time they’re bringing along their two young children. Families aren’t new to the parade. Parents and children of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities have long been “allies” of the parade, noted Richard Pfeiffer, who’s coordinated the event since the 1970s. Marriage equality has made the parade even more of a family affair, he said. You see it in the number of young faces in the parade and on the sidelines. The Back Lot Bash, that coincides with the parade, even includes kids music. Though never as flamboyant as San Francisco’s Pride Parade, where nudity is part of the mix, Chicago’s parade has its share of over-the-top floats. Though that’s changed, too, Pfeiffer said. “Forty years ago, people saw cross-dressing as flamboyant. Not anymore.” For Parker, a family law attorney at Beermann Pritikin Mirabelli Swerdlove LLP, and her wife, Dr. Ellen Parker, the parade is about celebrating differences. Aubrey and Ellen met while attending Creighton University in 2005. Back then, Aubrey’s last name was Parlet and Ellen’s last name was Klocker. When they married, they merged their surnames to Parker. “We knew we were going to have kids and thought here we are two moms, and if we can make things more average we wanted to,” Aubrey Parker said. “It’s nice and generic.”)

DAILY LINE
— Announcing The Springfield Daily Line – Mike Fourcher  (DIERSEN: Since I became the GOPUSA Illinois Editor in 2000 and started sending out GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails, many government/political news/commentary Internet newsletters have come and gone.  My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes stress a) that I do not have a degree in journalism and b) that I have never worked as a paid reporter or paid journalist.  In my defense, I worked for GAO for almost 18 years, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 levels, currently $94,610-$122,991. I worked for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently, $79,563-$90,173.  Much of what I did for GAO and for IRS was similar to what reporters and journalist do, including interviewing; fact gathering, summary, and analysis; and report writing.  In addition, I am a Forensic Accountant, Certified Financial Services Auditor, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, licensed CPA, and Certified Internal Auditor.  In addition, I have master’s degrees in finance, accounting, and business.  In addition, concerning politics, I have been a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 1999 and I was the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member 2003-2007, and an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member 2001-2004.)
http://thedailyline.net/chicago/06/19/2017/announcing-springfield-daily-line/
(FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT: I’m excited to announce that next month, The Daily Line will open a bureau in Springfield to publish a new newsletter, the Springfield Daily Line, focusing on state government news ($395/year or $650/year group subscription). Our bureau will be led full-time by experienced state government reporter Rae Hodge, who just completed a Fulbright Scholarship studying journalism at Cardiff University. Before heading over the pond, Rae worked for the Associated Press and then operated her own news service in the Frankfort, Kentucky statehouse. Everyone knows the amount of Illinois statehouse news coverage has declined precipitously. Our plan for the Springfield Daily Line is to produce new reporting from new angles currently uncovered. We’re going to produce something completely different from any existing publication, creating a must-have report for our paying subscribers–just as we have in Chicago. Exactly what do we plan to cover? We will focus on stories that most impact those who depend on government for their business success. That means, like in Chicago, we will provide fine-grained detail on legislation and policies moving through the General Assembly, publish as many bill briefings and primary documents as we can get our hands on, and include more coverage of state boards like JCAR and the ICC than you’ll find elsewhere. Our plan is unearth detail uninteresting to the regular citizen, but critical to those who know how can government turn on the little things.)

BREITBART
— Wayne LaPierre: If ‘Violent Left’ Attacks, They will Face ‘Freedom in the Hands of the American People’ – AWR HAWKINS  (DIERSEN: Those on the left are moral relativists who believe that their end justifies their means.  They are disciples of Saul Alinsky. Ever-increasingly, they make it clear that they want to get rid of those on the right.)

CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN NEWS
— WHICH CONSERVATIVES WERE ON THE ALEXANDRIA SHOOTER’S ‘KILL LIST’? HERE ARE SOME NAMES. (DIERSEN: If Hodgkinson had focused on Illinois conservatives, would I have been on his list? Beyond tragically, as the Democrat Party’s stranglehold on Illinois tightens, fewer and fewer and fewer individuals, organizations, companies, and governments identify themselves as being conservative and even fewer and fewer and fewer talk or act like they are conservative.)

NEW YORK TIMES
— The 15 Best-Educated Districts in the U.S., and Why It Matters in the Georgia Race – Nate Cohn  (DIERSEN: What percent of voters in your precinct, municipality, township/ward, county, and Illinois have at least a bachelor’s degree?  What are the most common majors?)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/19/upshot/this-list-of-well-educated-districts-explains-why-georgias-election-is-close.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: 15. ILLINOIS’S 5TH NORTHERN CHICAGO AND WESTERN SUBURBS. 50 percent have a college degree. Illinois’s Fifth is an odd one. It extends all the way from Lincoln Park, along Lake Michigan, to O’Hare International Airport, then heads south through many suburbs west of the city. It’s exactly the kind of weird-looking district you’d get in one of the most heavily gerrymandered states in the country. It does nonetheless cobble together plenty of well-educated areas, whether young neighborhoods on Chicago’s north side or office-park-dotted western suburbs. It’s the only district on this list that voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary. He won it by three points.)
— HARDCOPY ARTICLE TITLE: The Rising Power of Philanthropy  Latter-day Rockefellers may be generous but are accountable to no one. – David Callahan (DIERSEN: He who pays the piper calls the tunes.  What do leftist 501(c)(3)s think of you? From what I see, leftist 501(c)(3)s despise if not hate individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German Americans, draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)

PBS NEWSHOUR
— Trump lawyer: No information that the president is under investigation  (DIERSEN: While I worked for the federal government for almost 30 years, my Democrat superiors were always investigating me a) because I had not become a Democrat, b) because I had not painted myself as being a yes-man, c) because I had not helped my Democrat superiors get rid of their employees who were Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran, d) because I had complained about patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaining about the aforesaid, and e) because I had become an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my Democrat superiors with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.)
