INDEPENDENT JOURNAL REVIEW
— How Reince Priebus Was Treated As He Was Being Fired Just Became Public – Wow – BENNY JOHNSON  (DIERSEN: Have you been fired? In early 1971, after I had earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in August of 1970, my Firestone Stores boss ordered me to clean the white walls on display tires that were hanging on the walls of the store showroom while the store was open. That prompted me to tell him that I had accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile. He immediately flew into a rage, fired me, and threw me out of the store. Then, Oldsmobile withdrew its job offer saying that it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. That directly resulted in my accepting a job offer from IRS. That Firestone Store boss had not hired me, Firestone Stores regional office had hired me. In my opinion, that Firestone Store boss disapproved of many of my demographics including my religion and my national origin, but most of all, that I had avoided the draft. My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/stress that the members of the following organizations also fired me: TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, Milton Township Republican Central Committee, Illinois Center Right Coalition, American Association of Political Consultants, GAO, IRS, Post Office, etc.)

NEW YORK TIMES
— Protect the Justice Department From President Trump – Sally Yates  (DIERSEN: The Republicans who ran the Justice Department while Diersen v. GAO was pending in Chicago 2000-2005 sided with GAO, so therefore, those Republicans favored patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaining about the aforesaid. That was consistent with their rejection of the Rutan decision. SEE: (

— HARDCOPY ARTICLE TITLE: Back in the cockpit at 65 – JONATHAN SOBLE  (DIERSEN: How old are you?  I am 68. Do you oppose age discrimination?  I do. All my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes promote age discrimination. Non-veteran White males who are seeking a job with the federal government should be advised that with only rare exceptions, your career will be wasted and you will be gotten rid of if you do not make GS-13 ($94,610) by age 25, GS-14 ($111,801) by age 30, GS-15 ($131,508) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service ($161,900) by age 40. The Democrats who run the federal government use Affirmative action, Diversity, and Inclusion to not hire and to get rid of those who are Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran.)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/28/business/japan-older-workers-retired-pilot.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Shigekazu Miyazaki is spending what should have been his retirement 25,000 feet in the air. Mr. Miyazaki, a pilot with nearly four decades’ experience at All Nippon Airways, Japan’s largest airline, left the carrier last year at its mandatory retirement age of 65. But rather than take up golf or fishing, Mr. Miyazaki since April has been piloting 39-seat propeller planes for Oriental Air Bridge, a tiny airline that connects the southwestern city of Nagasaki to a group of remote islands. “I never would have thought I’d still be flying at 65,” Mr. Miyazaki, who is trim and has a deep voice and a full head of gray hair, said before a recent flight. “But I’m still healthy, and I love to fly, so why not do it as long as I can?” A man in his seventh decade extending his commercial flying career still qualifies as a novelty in Japan — but maybe not for long. The aging of Japan’s work force is prompting a rethinking of traditional career paths and government safety nets. The country has the world’s longest life expectancy, little immigration and a dwindling population of young workers, the result of decades of low birthrates. Last month, the Japanese government said the number of births last year fell below one million for the first time since it began tracking the figure in 1899.)

WALL STREET JOURNAL
— HARDCOPY ARTICLE TITLE: Group Seeks to Close Wall Street Gender Gap? – Groffrey Rogow  (DIERSEN: How big were the gender gaps for the jobs that you have had? If those gender gaps were big, why? The gender gaps for all the jobs that I have had were very big because everyone views all the jobs that I have had as being “bad” jobs.  I did yard work and delivered newspapers 1962-1964; washed dishes 1964-1966; cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966; delivered mail 1966-1969; worked on an automobile assemble line and as a security guard in 1970; sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971; pumped gasoline 1971-1972; collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980; and audited federal agencies 1980-1997.)

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/07/29/president-trump-reince-priebus-white-house-fly/522434001/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: President Trump once ordered former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus to exterminate a fly during a White House meeting, according to a report Friday. Citing a source familiar with the incident, The Washington Post reported that the commander in chief became distracted by a “buzzing” fly during an Oval Office meeting and summoned Priebus to kill the pesky insect. The relationship between Priebus and Trump has had its ups and downs. Back in 2016, Priebus suggested Trump withdraw from the presidential race after the emergence of the now infamous Access Hollywood tape of Trump talking about groping women, The New York Times reported. “No woman should ever be described in these terms or talked about in this manner,” Priebus, chair of the Republican National Committee, said at the time. “Ever.” That was something Trump had trouble forgetting and Priebus’ loyalty was often questioned, according to the Post. Citing White House officials, the Post reported that the call to remove Priebus from his position “heightened over the past 10 days or so.”)
— Trump administration ends low-income retirement savings plan – Paul Davidson (DIERSEN: How much have you saved for your retirement?  I have always saved as much as I could.  My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always used that against me.  They hint/imply/argue/shout a) that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, b) that I have always been privileged, c) that the federal government grossly overpaid me, and d) that my federal retirement benefits are much too generous. They stress a) that I avoided the draft, b) that my wife and I gave up trying to have children, we did not adopt, and we did not become foster parents, and c) that I do not give money to a church.  Most, if not virtually all of the operatives and the dupes who work for my critics/opponents have severe financial, health, and/or other problems.)
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2017/07/28/trump-administration-ends-low-income-retirement-savings-plan/519761001/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Trump administration said Friday it’s shutting down an Obama-era program aimed at encouraging low- and moderate-income households to save for retirement because the scant participation doesn’t justify the cost. About 30,000 Americans have contributed a total $34 million to the program, called myRA, which launched in late 2014 as an option for households that didn’t have access to an employer-sponsored retirement plan, such as a 401k, the Treasury Department said. About 20,000 accounts have a median balance of $500, and the owners of 10,000 accounts made no contributions. It has cost $70 million to manage the program — including server costs and promotion — which was likely to cost an additional $10 million annually going forward, the Treasury said.)

— Sessions not leaving unless pushed – AP (DIERSEN: QUESTION: What did I “gain” by taking my Democrat GAO superiors’ early retirement “offer” on September 30, 1997 when I was 49 years old?  ANSWER: No longer having to come to work and enduring their tremendous efforts to get rid of me. QUESTION: What did I lose?  First, the difference between my salary ($122,991/year in today’s dollars) an my Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension (currently $50,856/year) or $72,135/year in today’s dollars until I would taken regular retirement and then the difference between what my CSRS pension would have been (much more than $50,856/year) and $50,856/year for the rest of my life.  So far, during the last 238 months, I have lost $1,430,856 in today’s dollars, that is, what my salary would have been ($2,439,500) minus the CSRS pension payments that I have received ($1,008,644). But the lost money is nothing compared to the ammunition that my Democrat GAO superiors gave my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes.  They use my being forced to take early retirement to hint/imply/argue/shout that I must be a racist, a sexist, a bigot, or even far worse things.)

— Senate sends Russia sanctions bill to Trump’s desk  White House has not said if Trump will sign it – JEREMY HERB  (DIERSEN: I should write a book about the unsuccessful attempt that my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes made to sanction me at the start of the 2006 Illinois Center Right Coalition Annual Convention (ICRC) in the Wheaton Bowl Banquet Hall. Previously, my Democrat GAO superiors had sanctioned me by forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, not promoting me beyond GS-13, keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forcing me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974.  My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes in the Milton Township Republican Central Committee, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, ICRC, American Association of Political Consultants, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Milton Township, DuPage County, Illinois, etc, SIDE WITH MY DEMOCRAT SUPERIORS IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGAINST ME.)

CAPITOL FAX
— Pritzker campaign attacks new House GOP floor leader as “radical”  (DIERSEN: Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform.  Outstandingly, Breen focuses on defending and advancing the Illinois Republican Party platform.)
https://capitolfax.com/2017/07/28/pritzker-campaign-attacks-new-house-gop-floor-leader-as-radical/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Pritzker campaign is not happy…Rep. Peter Breen is reportedly taking over as House Republican floor leader, a move that solidifies Illinois Republicans’ dramatic shift to the right under failed Governor Bruce Rauner. Breen will replace moderate Rep. Steven Andersson who was exiled following his leadership in overriding Bruce Rauner’s reckless budget veto. The new floor leader will have the opportunity to make his radical social conservative views priorities for House Republicans. Here are just a few of the extreme right-wing stances that Breen has taken recently: Defended a new Rauner hire that compared abortion to Nazi eugenics. Fought against a bill strengthening the Illinois’ Equal Pay Act, calling it “the stupidest bill we’ve considered.” Lied about the potential risk Illinois women face in maintaining access to reproductive healthcare. Opposed marriage equality. “Peter Breen’s ascension to House leadership is another sign of the radical right-wing takeover led by Rauner and his team of ’superstars’ who are desperate for a political win,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “The damage he’s done to Illinois so far is unconscionable. Bruce Rauner continues to line his administration with ideologues eager to help him hold children and families hostage to his political agenda—a move that means more damage is coming.”)

— Scaramucci And The Pale Horse Of Pestilence – Jim Moore  (DIERSEN: While I worked for GAO 1980-1997, all the managers that the Democrats who ran GAO sent to run its Chicago office came with a list of Chicago office to get rid of. Of course, I was always very high on those lists because I am Republican, White, male, old (born in 1948), and non-veteran.  Further, I did not make GS-13 (currently $94,610) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $111,801) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $131,508) by age 35, or Senior Executive Service (currently $161,900) by age 40. Further, I complained about patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.  Further, in 1988, when I was 40 years old, I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged GAO with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.)

Much of the work that I did for IRS was similar to the work that I did for GAO including investigating, interviewing, gathering data, summarizing data, analyzing data, developing recommendations, and report writing. But the Democrats who ran GAO dismissed/belittled the skills that I developed working for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $79,563-$90,173.  To transfer, they forced me to take a downgrade from GS-12 Step 5 down to GS-9 Step 10, an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars. DUPAGE COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE
— John Curran appointed to State Senate  County Board Vice Chairman picked as Radogno replacement
https://www.facebook.com/DuPageGOP
(FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT: Downers Grove, Ill. — The Republican 41st Senate District Selection Committee announced today the appointment of John Curran to the Office of State Senator for the 41st Senate District of Illinois. “John Curran will be an excellent State Senator for the 41st District,” said DuPage County GOP Chairman Brian Krajewski. “As the Vice Chairman of the DuPage County Board, John is a strong advocate for fiscal restraint and good government reforms, has deep roots in the community, and knows the pressing issues that southwest suburban residents face.” After interviewing about a dozen candidates, the committee members agreed that Curran is the most qualified person to serve the remainder of Christine Radogno’s term. “We interviewed many outstanding candidates who applied to fill this vacancy,” said Will County GOP Chairman Kathy Havel. “John’s record in support of respectful, responsible, representative government and his extraordinary commitment to constituent service was clear.” Since 2008, Curran has served the 3rd District of the DuPage County Board, where he led the effort to ban the end-of-career pension enhancements that is projected to save taxpayers $28 million. During his public service, he has pushed for transportation infrastructure development and cost-saving public employee reforms. For his professional career, he is a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney focusing on employment and labor litigation. He also has municipal experience as a former trustee for the Village of Woodridge and is a current resident of Downers Grove. The 41st Senate District is in Cook, DuPage, and Will Counties. The Selection Committee consisted of Chairman Krajewski, Chairwoman Havel, Lyons Township GOP Committeewoman Christine Cook, and Lemont Township GOP Committeeman Howie Ludwig. Also present were Downers Grove Township GOP Chairman Bob Grogan, Lisle Township GOP Chairman Jay Fisher, and Homer Township GOP Chairman Brian Burian.)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2017/07/21/hits-on-federal-retirement-advance-as-bill-is-introduced-to-fire-feds-for-no-cause-at-all/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Future federal employees could lose their jobs much more easily under legislation introduced by Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.). He wants all new feds to be considered at-will employees, meaning they “may be removed/suspended without notice or right to appeal for good cause, bad cause, or no cause at all,” according to a summary of the legislation. This represents no understanding that civil service protections are designed to protect not just staffers, but also the public from a government bureaucracy riven with political favoritism, as was the case under the spoils system. Even members of Congress eager to fire feds faster must know that this drastic proposal runs afoul of a basic and long-standing principle that says government staffers should be protected from willy-nilly punishment by political operatives. While Rokita’s plan demonstrates the extremes to which the fire-feds-faster crowd will go, presumably, but perhaps not assuredly, there are enough people in Congress who know better. I doubt his legislation will fly. . .Not all Republicans want to punish feds. Nine GOP House members signed a letter in June opposing Trump’s proposal, because it would renege on the retirement promised to feds when they joined the government. “Congress and the administration cannot balance the federal budget on the backs of our federal workers,” said one of the letter signers, Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.), after the House plan was released Tuesday. “Many of our federal employees work at the CIA, Pentagon, FBI, law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence agencies.  They and our federal workforce are dedicated hard-working professionals who work day and night to protect our homeland and national security, cure diseases, and provide services that help the American people.”)

— Illinois taxpayers foot the bill for legislators — even after they retire – Roger Kempa, Darien  (DIERSEN: In my defense, my $50,856 Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension is only 41% of my ending GS-13 Step 10 salary of $122,991 in today’s dollars. The federal government subsidizes $17,288 (75%) of my and my wife’s health, dental, and vision insurance, but we have to pay $5,763 (25%). My Social Security is only $2,028 because I get a CSRS pension. Federal COLAs are far less than inflation.  My CSRS pension has been, is, and will forever be dramatically reduced because my Democrat superiors in the federal government wasted my career. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to take their early retirement offer in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/letters/ct-illinois-taxpayers-legislators-retire-pension-radogno-20170711-story.html
(FROM THE LETTER: This is in response to a Monday letter to the editor “Farewell, Sen. Radogno.” Former state Sen. Christine Radogno will be with the taxpayers of Illinois for many decades to come. She can expect to receive pension payments totaling more than $2.3 million during her retirement. Her final salary of more than $95,000 results in an estimated first-year pension of more than $81,000. That payment increases by 3 percent annually, thanks to the ill-conceived General Assembly Retirement System. Dozens of Illinois legislators have said “no” to their pensions. Radogno said “yes,” as if it were an entitlement. Folks retiring on their Social Security pension are much less fortunate. Someone retiring at age 65 would receive only around $35,340 per year, or 37.2 percent of a $95,000 salary (if he or she is married) or otherwise $23,621 per year, which is 24.9 percent of a $95,000 salary. Meanwhile, Radogno’s first-year estimated pension represents 85.3 percent of her salary. Retired Illinois legislators with four or more years of service have their insurance for health care, prescriptions and vision care subsidized. Generous Illinois taxpayers foot the bill for those benefits and their annual pensions! And none of those pensions are subject to Illinois taxation. Illinois taxpayers will be watching Radogno’s replacement. He or she should start by setting a good example: refusing a taxpayer-paid GARS pension and insurance for health care, prescriptions and vision care. Since all folks receiving a pension in Illinois are not subject to Illinois income tax, an income cap needs to be established, say $60,000 as an example. Anything above that cap would be taxed. It is a matter of fairness, and equity, toward paying the $5 billion, 32 percent income tax increase. How about it Illinois state legislators?)

http://www.dailyherald.com/discuss/20170712/township-regime-angling-to-restore-perks
(FROM THE LETTER: I am very disappointed in the article by Marie Wilson alleging the Township Road District merger between Naperville Township and Lisle Township is proving difficult. As a former candidate for Township Trustee I am pretty familiar with the course of events leading up to the referendum. What Marie fails to mention (and it is critically important) is that the initial proposal by the Township and City of Naperville was to have Naperville’s street department take over the Township roads. That would have been the optimum deal and saved the most money. However, the vested interest (Republicans, no less) rose up to stop the loss of their generous pay and benefits. It was only after the Township Supervisor, at that time, cut their budget and forced the road district to strike a deal with Lisle Township. For the new regime at the Naperville Township Road District to cry it’s too difficult to effect the merger is disingenuous at best. They are simply angling to restore their overly generous pay and benefits; and the article by Marie Wilson plays right into their hands.)

ILLINOIS REVIEW
— THORNER: SCHLAFLY’S MOST POWERFUL OFFICE IN THE WORLD (PRECINCT COMMITTEEMAN)  (DIERSEN: If you want to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance the Republican Party platform and the Illinois Republican Party platform, please become a Republican Precinct Committeeman/Captain. I have been the Republican Committeeman for DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 9 since 1999.)
http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2017/07/thorner-schlaflys-most-powerful-office-in-the-world.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Donald Trump is the most powerful man in the world, so technically, the U.S. Presidency is the “Most Powerful Office in the World.”  But what if you were told of another public office that (ultimately) chooses who will be President and virtually every other elected official in the U. S.?  If that were true, wouldn’t that office (ultimately) be the “Most Powerful Office in the World”? Conservatives take pride in their knowledge of the Constitution and the outward forms of American Government. Many can quote the Founding Fathers, such as, “The least governed are the best governed” (Jefferson) and “Government is like fire, a useful servant but a deadly master” (George Washington), etc., but the bottom line is, many conservatives know next to nothing about the real system of American government, which isn’t the fairy tale that has been taught in school and colleges over the past few decades. If you are tired of seeing things continue to go down the drain, it is essential that you understand how liberals dominate our government.  Madigan’s budget deal was the straw that broke camel’s back for many conservatives. What might be done to salvage Illinois after ten Republicans joined Madigan and 60 other Democrats in voting for a permanent, 32 percent income tax increase and 33 percent corporate tax hike, when Illinois residents already shoulder the heaviest local and state tax burden in the country? Irresponsible is that a three-fifths majority of state lawmakers, including Republicans, sold out their constituencies to reward the special interest groups (public employee unions, trial lawyers and other political insiders) that have been paying to keep them in office for decades. Understanding the seven laws of American government, set forth in an essay by Phyllis Schlafly in the early 90’s — The Most Powerful Office in The World Is NOT The President of the United States! — is essential to change Illinois from a failed state to one that will live up to its potential, where people feel proud to live and work and where businesses can grow and prosper.  The lack of good people at the grass roots is why we get so many bad apples that call themselves “Republicans”. E-mail Andy Schlafly to order copies of Phyllis Schlafly’s article. Phyllis Schlafly (August 15, 1924 – September 5, 2016) was a founding member of the modern conservative movement. She was described by the New York Times as the “one of the most relentless and accomplished platform debaters of any gender to be found on any side of any issue.”  Following are excerpts from Phyllis’ article, which is as powerful today as it was back in the early 90’s: . . . Therefore, Precinct Committeeman is the most powerful office in the world because Precinct Committeemen determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of government. Remember, if your candidate is not on the ballot, he will not be elected.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The shakeup in Governor Bruce Rauner’s office continues as NBC 5 has learned Brad Hahn was fired Tuesday morning. Hahn had served as deputy chief of staff for public engagement and communications director. He has been a longtime GOP staffer, working for both Comptroller Judy Barr Topinka and Leslie Munger. When Hahn was hired last year, he was part of the 23 people who worked for Munger and were then hired by the Rauner administration when Munger lost her bid for re-election. (FROM THE ARTICLE: One day after Gov. Bruce Rauner replaced his chief of staff, two other staffers in the governor’s administration have been ousted, according to published reports. NBC5 reported Tuesday that Brad Hahn, who served as Rauner’s communications director, was fired. Both Hahn and the governor’s office did not return messages seeking comment. It was unclear if a replacement had been named. Hahn joined the Rauner administration in December 2016 after serving as chief of staff to former Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger, who is now Rauner’s deputy governor. Catherine Kelly, a spokeswoman for Rauner’s administration, also was fired Tuesday, though she was expected to resign as early as next month, according to the Capitolfax.com website, which covers Illinois state politics. The shake-ups came a day after Rauner tapped Kristina Rasmussen to replace Richard Goldberg as his chief of staff. Police began investigating the incident just before midnight on Thursday after they were dispatched on a medical call to the 5200 N block of CR 325 W. A 19-year-old male at the scene told a deputy that he became ill after ingesting drugs, and he needed to go to the hospital. He said he was in the area camping with friends, and they also ingested the drugs. Several more sheriff’s deputies arrived and found 10 other teens that all said they were suffering from a rapid heart rate, pain in their legs, blurred vision, and hallucinations. According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy determined that they each ate one half of a gummy bear that supposedly contained THC.)

BREITBART
— VA Under Trump Admin Fires More Than 500 Employees, Suspends 200 for Misconduct – KATHERINE RODRIGUEZ  (DIERSEN: Constructively, since 1997, the Democrats who run GAO have had the Civil Service Retirement System pay me $1,008,644 in today’s dollars ($4,238 X 236 months) to “sit at home.” According to my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, the Democrats who run GAO are doing that because I am a “bad employee.”  I should write a book about adverse actions that my Democrat GAO superiors and supervisors took to get rid of me during my first day, first week, first month, first year, first decade, and during the rest of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO 1980-1997. Those adverse actions included forcing me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO, giving me unrealistic performance expectations and unfair performance appraisals, assigning me to supervise the office’s most problematic employees, keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, not promoting me beyond GS-13, always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, and forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old. They would not have done any of the aforesaid if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, and/or a veteran.)

— Trump administration wants to boost value of federal employee buyouts – Eric Yoder  (DIERSEN: Federal agencies use buyouts to get rid of their employees who are Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2017/07/11/trump-administration-wants-to-boost-value-of-federal-employee-buyouts/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The carrot half of the carrot-and-stick formula for cutting federal jobs would be sweetened under a proposal the Trump administration has sent to Congress, seeking to increase the maximum value of buyout payments from $25,000 to $40,000 government-wide. Buyouts are payments used for “increasing voluntary attrition in agencies that are downsizing or restructuring,” in the words of the proposal, and reduce the need to use the stick side of the equation — the complex and contentious layoff process called reduction in force. A buyout is the lesser of $25,000 or the severance pay the employee would be due if laid off — as a practical matter, it’s usually the former. The payment is taxable, reducing its value typically to under $20,000, and employees who accept one generally must repay the full amount if they return to government employment within five years. The $25,000 figure has been the same since the government first started offering buyouts during the workforce downsizing in the Clinton administration. Last year the Defense Department asked for a boost to $40,000, arguing that $25,000 is no longer a sufficient incentive to get employees to resign or retire voluntarily. Congress agreed to the increase, but only at that department and only through September 2018.)

DAILY HERALD
— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Democrat newspapers report on parades in West Chicago but not in Wheaton. The video of Wheaton’s outstanding 2017 Independence Day Parade is at
http://wheaton-il.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=2&clip_id=2782.  Republicans who participated in the parade were: DuPage State’s Attorney Bob Berlin; DuPage County District 4 officials Grant Eckhoff, Tim Elliott, Amy Grant, and Tim Whelan; James Mendrick for DuPage Sheriff; Frank Bibbianno for DuPage Sheriff; Karen Wilson for DuPage Judge; and the Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC).  Republicans who walked with entries included Ron Almiron, Lori Carlson, Joseph Caruso, Flo Dangelo, Sal Falbo, Chris Heidorn, Pat Hinchey, Marty Keller, Larry LaVanway, Antonio Lollino, Paula McGowen, Ron Menna, David Norck, Thommen Poozhikunnel, Mary Rash, Pat Ryan, and Janet Shaw. Gary Muehlfelt drove the truck that pulled the outstanding MTRCC float. Peter Breen, Mike Connelly, and Jeanne Ives could not participate in the parade because of the Democrats. Peter Roskam participated in a different parade. This year, for the 12th year in a row, “DuPage Republicans” helped sponsor the parade and fireworks. “DuPage Republicans” was one of the two $2,500 “Star” sponsors and again sponsored the Wheaton high school bands and the Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums parade entries. Because of a last minute shortage of banner carriers, I had the honor of helping carry the “Sponsored by DuPage Republicans” banner ahead of the Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums. Outstandingly, again this year Tim Whelan coordinated Republican use of the “DuPage Republicans” booth at the fireworks. This year again, I delivered flyers to the residences and businesses on the parade route. The flyers listed the Republican entries in the parade and the Republicans who helped sponsor entries. Outstandingly, the flyers were printed courtesy of Alpha Graphics. This year, outstandingly, Roger Claar is a $500 contributor, Chris Nybo is a $250 contributor, Phil Suess is a $150 contributor, and Bob Berlin, Peter Breen, Mike Connelly, Grant Eckhoff, Tim Elliott, Amy Grant, Gwen Henry, Paul Hinds, Jeanne Ives, Marty Keller, Deanne Mazzochi, Paula McGowen, James Mendrick, Peter Roskam, Darlene Ruscitti, and Tim Whelan are $100 contributors. Please thank them for helping sponsor the parade and fireworks. This year was the 10th anniversary of an elephant walking behind Roskam in the parade.  For that 2007 parade, I had the honor of raising $2,000 on short notice from DuPage Republicans to sponsor that elephant.

Miller  (DIERSEN: As everyone on the planet earth knows full-well, individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that want cheap labor viciously demonize, viciously denigrate, and viciously condemn government employees as being overpaid. In defense of my federal salary 1966-1969 and 1971-1997, I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32.)

BLOOMINGTON PANTAGRAPH
— Bloomington’s immigrant resolution on hold for state law – Maria Nagle  (DIERSEN: As everyone on the planet earth knows full-well, to say that immigrants are welcome is code for expressing hatred against individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time. To support the Illinois Trust Act is to express hatred against the aforesaid groups.)
http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/government-and-politics/bloomington-s-immigrant-resolution-on-hold-for-state-law/article_0d7d1730-7972-5bd8-9235-1abe6aa2f5b6.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Bloomington City Council will not act Monday night on a proposed resolution intended to assure Bloomington’s immigrant residents that they are welcome. The item is being pulled from the agenda for the 7 p.m. Monday council meeting so the city can wait for Gov. Bruce Rauner to act on related legislation, said Mayor Tari Renner. The resolution would be a statement of the city’s dedication to diversity and inclusion and not a change in law enforcement policy, according to background documentation submitted to the council. The Illinois Trust Act, if enacted, would prevent state law enforcement agencies from assisting in immigration actions unless there’s a warrant and offer protections from immigration enforcement to some safe havens such as schools. If Rauner signs the bill, possibly by Aug. 1, it would affect some of the language in the city’s proposed resolution, said Renner.)

MILITARY TIMES
— VA to make public all employee firings – Leo Shane III  (DIERSEN: QUESTION: What if my Democrat superiors had “made public” the adverse actions that they took against me? ANSWER: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes would have cheered. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. I should write a book about those in my precinct, in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois who are filled with hatred against federal employees and against retired federal employees. They are especially filled with hatred against federal employees and retired federal employees who are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)
