February 1 Evening Edition

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— The 18 members of the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Central Committee (SCC) run the IRP. How do you want them to respond to Kinzinger? Who do you want them to select to be the next IRP Chairman?

All IRP SCC votes must be weighted. Chapin Rose’s (District 15) weighted vote is 16.11%. Mike Bigger’s (District 18) weighted vote is 11.49%. Laura Pollastrini’s (District 14) weighted vote is 9.64%. John McGlasson’s (District 16) weighted vote is 8.81%. Barb Viviano’s (District 12) weighted vote is 7.71%. Bob Grogan’s (District 6) weighted vote is 7.61%. Fred Floreth’s (District 13) weighted vote is 7.07%. Jan Weber’s (District 17) weighted vote is 5.75%. Roger Claar’s (District 11) weighted vote is 4.40%. The remaining 9 IRP SCC members have a combined weighted vote of 21.41% ranging from 0.87% to 3.29%.

The IRP SCC is scheduled to meet this Saturday.

If the 18 IRP SCC members surveyed the Republican County Party Chairmen in their congressional district, what response do you believe they would get?

If the 102 Republican County Party Chairmen surveyed the Chairmen of the Republican township and ward organizations in their county, what response do you believe they would get?

If the Republican township and ward organization Chairmen surveyed their Republican Precinct Committeemen and captains, what response do you believe they would get?

(DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, hate-filled White-hating White-haters use the Capitol Riot to promote hatred against Whites. I earned a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980.)
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2021/02/01/depaul-u-black-student-union-demands-segregated-safe-spaces/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Students at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, are demanding segregated “safe spaces” for black students “on and off campus.” The Black Student Union at DePaul University is demanding special accommodations for black students in the wake of the Capitol Hill riot, which they refer to as a “display of white power.” The demands include new programs and racially segregated “safe spaces” both on and off-campus. “The disgusting display of white power, not to be confused with white privilege, is something we should all fear, though we know that situations and tensions in this country will always negatively affect black people, but not so much white people,” began the students in their statement. “While the attempted coup was a scary act of white power, the end of Spring Quarter 2019-2020 and the following months after that were horrifying for black students on campus,” the statement continued. “We were scared for our lives, we saw our friends get beaten and arrested, if not worse, and DePaul’s delayed response in contrast to the quickness in which they’ve replied to this week’s events is just another indicator of how little DePaul cares for their black students,” added the students, referring to previous social justice protests. “It took petitions and a campus-wide movement for DePaul to address the protests, where in that statement they wrote the late Eric Gardner’s name as ‘Eric Ferguson,’” the statement continued. “When we felt threatened by DePaul’s deal with the FOP, they tokenized a Latinx police officer as a means to silence us and show us that they’d made their decision — money is worth more than the black and brown students at DePaul.” The Student Union went on to complain that the university only let students forego their final exams last year after white students joined black students in an effort to get them canceled. “When in Spring Quarter of the last academic year black students asked for some kind of relief from one of our great stressors, final exams, it took the co-opting of white students (who, some, did so for their own benefit, going as far as calling it ‘the awesome perks of Spring Quarter’) and immense pressure from the student body for DePaul to allow a loosely worded policy,” the students said. “Even then, most black students still had finals since certain professors ignored this rule,” they added. “No black student expects it to be easy to attend a Predominantly White Institution, but blatant disrespect will not be tolerated,” the Student Union affirmed. “We demand answers.” From there, the students went on to list their demands, which included “more black therapists,” university-funded “healing and safe spaces for black students on and off campus,” diversity and inclusion training “led by black and brown people,” and “respect from the administration,” among other things. “It is imperative that spaces for black students on campus continue to receive the necessary funding and recognition as they provide safe and healing components through the presence of other students, faculty, and staff who look like us,” said the students of their demand for “safe spaces.” DePaul University did not immediately respond to Breitbart News’ request for comment on whether the school plans to meet the students’ demands for racially segregated “safe spaces” on and off-campus.)

(DIERSEN: By now, Illinois Republican Precinct Committeemen and Captains should have received an email from the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) that IRP Chairman candidate Mark Shaw favors full censure of Kinzinger while candidates Don Tracy and Scott Gryder reject censure. Further, by now, Illinois Republican Precinct Committeemen and Captains should have received an email from their representative on the IRP State Central Committee that states if they favor or reject censure.)
https://www.politico.com/newsletters/illinois-playbook/2021/02/01/kinzingers-gop-dilemma-teacher-strike-looms-calling-in-kamala-491587
(FROM THE ARTICLE: “Enough is enough,” Larry Smith, chairman of the LaSalle County Republican Central Committee, told Playbook after the rally. “He hasn’t talked to us for six years.” Smith said his Republican committee will vote Tuesday on whether to censure Kinzinger, and Smith suggested other GOP county committees could follow. So far, the state GOP has no plans to censure. But the party is in upheaval as Chairman Tim Schneider is stepping down and a new chairman is to be named Saturday. Up for the job are Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder, Lake County Republican Chairman Mark Shaw, and former Illinois Gaming Board exec and former lieutenant governor candidate Don Tracy of Springfield. Shaw favors full censure of Kinzinger. While Tracy and Gryder, who oppose Kinzinger’s impeachment vote, nonetheless reject censure.)

https://www.cleveland.com/open/2021/02/will-the-ohio-gop-move-on-from-trump-a-qa-with-chairman-jane-timken.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Normally, a political party would move on from a losing presidential candidate. Party leaders already have shown some subtle signs of doing so – the state GOP removed images of Trump from the front page of its website earlier this month, and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel last week told the Associated Press the party would remain neutral if Trump runs again in 2024. But Trump has claimed he only lost the election because of widespread fraud, a claim his own Justice Department, dozens of courts and senior Republican leaders have rebuked as unsupported or false. Last week, cleveland.com / The Plain Dealer interviewed Timken, whom Trump personally helped install as leader of the state GOP shortly after he was elected, to ask how the party might – or might not – move on from the former president heading into 2022. . .What is the next step for Republicans post-Trump? . . . Do you think he will remain involved with the Republican Party? Do you think he will follow through on his reported threat to start a third party? . . . After losing the November election, do you think the party needs to distance itself from Trump? . . . Do you think Trump will continue to be the face of the Republican Party? . . . What is the biggest thing the Ohio Republican Party needs to improve? . . . The former president attracted a lot of new voters to the Republican Party. Do you think they will remain engaged Republican voters? . . . What responsibility does the president or Republicans generally bear for the events at the Capitol? . . . How are you feeling about 2022 for Ohio Republicans? . . . With congressional redistricting this year under a new map-drawing process meant to prevent gerrymandering, do you think Ohio’s partisan makeup will change?)

https://townhall.com/columnists/laurahollis/2021/01/28/america-grows-sick-on-a-diet-of-propaganda-and-political-theater-n2583871
(FROM THE ARTICLE: First and foremost, of course, is the attempt by Democrats in Congress to impeach Trump for “inciting insurrection.” Most people won’t read the full text of Trump’s speech that day. It was vintage Trump, confrontational and full of braggadocio, but in it, he explicitly told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard. But no “insurrection” means no “incitement,” and that would mean no impeachment. The articles of impeachment are themselves a charade. As Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul stated on the Senate floor — and to which 44 other Republican senators agreed — the Constitution simply does not authorize Congress to take the action contemplated by an impeachment trial against a private citizen. Only a sitting president can be “removed,” and Donald Trump is no longer the president of the United States. Further, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that Chief Justice John Roberts will not preside over an impeachment trial in the Senate — another blow to those who claim that such a “trial” on the House’s single impeachment charge is legitimate. Finally, the 44 GOP senators who voted in favor of Paul’s procedural motion prove that the 50 Democratic senators will not get the additional 17 Republicans they need for a two-thirds majority to convict. So, the impeachment shtick isn’t about removing a man who is already gone, and it isn’t really about getting a conviction either. It’s more — and more extreme — political theater. If that’s not bad enough, the country is also struggling to recover from months of COVID lockdowns. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio described the impeachment charge as “stupid” and a waste of time. And it gets much worse. The target of the “insurrection” propaganda campaign is not so much Donald Trump as it is the 74 million-plus people who voted for him. Americans were stunned when Hillary Clinton referred to only half of Donald Trump’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables” in 2016. But Trump had millions more supporters in 2020, and now all of them are being demonized by Democrats and their mouthpieces in the media as threats, as “seditionists” and “white supremacists” who need to be “deprogrammed,” “reprogrammed,” imprisoned in “reeducation camps” or subjected to “Nuremburg trials.” These are not isolated remarks by fringe elements; they are comments made by “mainstream” Democratic voices: Washington Post correspondent Eugene Robinson, media darling Katie Couric, MSNBC anchor Don Lemon, actor Jon Cryer, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Comments on these articles and tweets — made by non-famous, left-leaning Americans — are even worse. This is beyond political difference. It is a sickness.)

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/01/us/politics/biden-approval-rating-trump.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: President Biden entered the White House last month with a broadly positive approval rating — but well shy of the two-thirds of Americans who expressed support for his former boss, Barack Obama, when he took office 12 years ago. In fact, Biden’s net approval rating is lower than that of any incoming president since the dawn of modern polling, except for his predecessor, Donald Trump. It’s just another clear sign that we’ve entered a new era of partisanship: Media fragmentation and the hard-line politics it has helped foster may make it impossible for any leader to become a true consensus figure. But it also bears noting that Biden’s approval rating is basically a reverse image of Trump’s. In addition to being loathed by Republicans and embraced by Democrats, he’s firmly in positive territory among independents — who had consistently disapproved of Trump’s performance. A Monmouth University poll out last week found that 54 percent of Americans gave Biden’s performance positive marks, including nine in 10 Democrats and a plurality of independents, who approved by a 17-percentage-point margin (22 percent hadn’t yet formed an opinion). But among Republicans, his numbers were upside down. Just 15 percent approved, and 70 percent disapproved.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s vote to impeach Donald Trump and criticism of Republican congressional colleagues who support the former president has highlighted a split in the state GOP as it gets set to decide on new leadership. The Republican State Central Committee will meet Feb. 6 to decide among three candidates to replace outgoing Chairman Tim Schneider. But some in the party want to use the forum to discuss Kinzinger and a possible reprimand for his anti-Trump statements, which increased in vitriol following the Nov. 3 election and the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters. “There’s a group that wants to talk about it and it’s not positive. There are those who want to censure him. There’s people wanting to know what the state party is going to do about it,” said former Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar, who represents the 11th Congressional District near Kinzinger’s 16th District on the state GOP central committee. The schism in the state GOP mirrors what’s happening with Republicans nationally as the party struggles to move forward even as many of its voters continue to back Trump and believe the November election was stolen from him. On Sunday, Kinzinger doubled down on his position, announcing the formation of a “country first” movement and website attached to his Future First Leadership political action committee. He’s seeking like-minded supporters to “take back our party” and to “unplug the outrage machine, reject the politics of personality and cast aside the conspiracy theories and the rage.” “I think the Republican Party has lost its moral authority in a lot of areas. That doesn’t mean we don’t need to fight back to defend what we believe are our conservative principles. But when I ask people now, what is a conservative principle, how many people think that conservative principles are things like just build the wall and charge the Capitol and have an insurrection?” Kinzinger said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” . . . But they also did not go unnoticed by state GOP leaders. Some have said they have received phone calls asking what the Illinois Republican Party was going to do about Kinzinger. The congressman was the subject of some discussion at a GOP State Central Committee meeting last weekend. “I think the party majority are kind of disappointed. I mean, the one thing I’ve heard most from Republicans over the years since Reagan is the old 11th Commandment,” Claar said of the former president’s admonishment to not speak ill of fellow Republicans. Claar accused Kinzinger of causing upheaval in the party to no clear end. “What is the point? Why are you elevating this thing into regional, if not national, prominence? What purpose are you serving here? You’re further pointing out the division in the party,” Claar said. Kinzinger has denied that he is attempting to position himself for a run for U.S. Senate or governor in 2022, though he has not ruled out a run for higher office. In a statewide race, his Trump criticism would likely be held against him in Downstate Illinois, which has grown more strongly conservative and ardently supported the former president in the past two elections. His stance could, however, help him among more moderate independents and Republicans in Chicago’s suburbs. Kinzinger recently told CNN that he believes with Trump gone, Republican leaders face a reckoning of where the GOP should go next — either aligning themselves with the former president or moving beyond him. “I think in six months it’s not going to be necessarily the party of Donald Trump. But this is the whole point: I do think we are in a battle, that it may be a battle that really needs to happen, for our party to say what is it we stand for now when it comes to policy. But as much as anything, are we aspirational or are we a party that feeds on fear and division?” Kinzinger said. “If you’re a leader of the Republican Party right now, you need to be focused on one thing — not winning another election, that’s not what we should be focused on right now. What we should be focused on is restoring the integrity of this party,” he said. Claar supported Trump and even co-hosted a fundraiser for him at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. That’s where the state GOP leaders were supposed to meet Saturday until a predicted snowstorm pushed off the date to Feb. 6. But he said Illinois Republicans should take a wait-and-see attitude on the party’s future and whether it should continue to align itself with the former president. “Let’s just leave it alone and see how it plays out,” Claar said. He said if the party does decide to speak out on Kinzinger, he would oppose any effort to censure the congressman for his conduct, a course taken by GOP leaders in some states against congressional members who voted for impeachment. “It serves no purpose to have headlines that say, ‘Republican state party censures congressman.’ That would just give it more legs,” Claar said. “I think it would be better to just issue an observation of the reality that a congressman can say what he wants and it’s up to his constituency to decide whether they like it or not.” Kinzinger did not respond to a request to speak about the GOP state central committee’s potential actions. On Sunday, during his “Meet The Press” interview, Kinzinger said he viewed GOP efforts to reprimand Trump opponents as an example of the “cancel culture” that Republicans have outspokenly criticized Democrats for exhibiting. . .Much of the state GOP’s decision on how to respond to Kinzinger may come down to its pick of a new chairman to replace Schneider, a former Cook County commissioner and Hanover Township trustee from Streamwood.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: If you don’t agree with Democrats, then the Dems use social media to punish you for wrongthink. You are canceled. You can lose your job. You go on a blacklist. People who support Trump or worked in his administration are now blacklisted as punishment for their beliefs. This is what they do in communist countries, not free America. What the hell has happened to our country in the past year anyway? Riots and looting are permitted if performed by antifa but not peaceful protests by Trump supporters. Antifa infiltrates our rallies to make us look bad. Nobody cares. It is not investigated. [The Freedom of Information Act] is denied, citing privacy concerns. Thus anger among conservatives continues to build up like a volcano about to explode because we are stymied at every turn and there is no outlet, no justice, just corruption.)

https://www.chicagotribune.com/opinion/commentary/ct-opinion-republican-party-illinois-20210129-b5k5xefiqfel3khfvhbfmfjnyq-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: 6. Vocally oppose cancel culture. Our discourse is now dominated by a social theory which recognizes only “oppressors” and “oppressed” with no middle ground or differing opinions allowed. Our youth are being indoctrinated with this destructive mindset in our schools. An example is the “culturally responsive” teaching standard currently proposed by the Illinois State Board of Education, which will force teachers to adopt a curriculum of “progressive viewpoints,” under which teachers must “work actively” in the classroom against “systems of oppression” while promoting “student activism and advocacy” for a progressive agenda. Cancel culture is at root a Marxist-based model, and as with all Marxist theories, pits different groups of people against each other in bitter, unending conflict. Adopting such doctrines in government results in expanding hatred, suppression of speech, economic decline and social disintegration, as we are already seeing in parts of America today. If the Republicans will not stand for civility and freedom, who will? The Chicago Republican Party has begun planning for the 2022 election. We urge all Republicans to join forces to rescue and restore Illinois.)

Will County grew by 7,207, or 1.06%, and Kane County grew by 9,502 people, or 1.82%. Kendall County saw the highest rate of increase of any Illinois county, growing by 6.65%, or 7,860 people. . .Growth in Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will is likely tied to people already in the region moving farther into the suburbs, he said, and to better job growth in the Chicago area than elsewhere in the state.)

(DIERSEN: The Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Central Committee (SCC) has postponed to February 6 the meeting that it had scheduled for tomorrow to interview candidates for IRP chairman. What positions do the candidates have on Trump, on Kinzinger, etc.? The answers to those questions should by now be well-known not only by the IRP SCC members, but a) by all the chairmen of the Republican county, township, and ward organizations in Illinois and b) by all the Republican Precinct Committeemen/Captains in Illinois. This is especially true because IRP SCC members are not elected by Republican voters in Illinois, but by Republican Precinct Committeemen outside of Cook County and by Township and Ward Committeemen in Cook County. All Republicans in Illinois should know by now, but do not know what positions the IRP Chairmen candidates have on Trump, Kinzinger, etc.)

CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Kinzinger’s criticism of Trump puts focus on divide in Illinois GOP as party gets set to elect new leadership – RICK PEARSON
https://www.chicagotribune.com/politics/ct-adam-kinzinger-trump-illinois-republicans-20210129-sybzihfppbazrcviq2v2cvupka-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Republican State Central Committee will meet Feb. 6 to decide among three candidates for outgoing Chairman Tim Schneider. But some in the party want to use the forum to discuss Kinzinger and a possible reprimand for his anti-Trump statements, which increased in vitriol following the Nov. 2 election and the Jan. The schism in the state GOP mirrors what’s happening with Republicans nationally as the party struggles to move forward even as many of its voters continue to back Trump and believe the November election was stolen from him. . .Kinzinger’s recent views and actions toward Trump, his supporters and the majority of his party have elevated his national stature, earning him cable-news interviews and profiles in The Washington Post and The Atlantic. Why are you elevating this thing into regional if not national prominence? What purpose are you serving here? You’re further pointing out the division in the party,” Claar said. . .Claar supported Trump and even co-hosted a fundraiser for him at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. He said if the party does decide to speak out on Kinzinger he would oppose any effort to censure the congressman for his conduct, a course taken by GOP party leaders in some states against congressional members who voted for impeachment. “It serves no purpose to have headlines that say ‘Republican state party censures congressman.’ That would just give it more legs,” Claar said. “I think it would be better to just issue an observation of the reality that a congressman can say what he wants and it’s up to his constituency to decide whether they like it or not.” . . . Much of the state GOP’s decision on how to respond to Kinzinger may come down to its pick of a new chairman to replace Schneider, a former Cook County commissioner and Hanover Township trustee from Streamwood. . . State Sen. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet, said his focus for the next meeting was on picking a new state chairman, not on Kinzinger. “It’s about picking the right person to move us forward as we prepare for 2022,” said Rose, the 15th Congressional District state central committeeman. “We need to be focused on the right person to win 2022 and frankly, how we unite the party is what I’m hoping to hear from each of the candidates.”)

POLITICO ILLINOIS
— GOP PARTY PAUSE: The Republican State Central Committee has canceled Saturday’s meeting to name a new party chair. The meeting was supposed to be in Bolingbrook (not Bloomington, as I mistakenly stated on Thursday). Some downstate committee members were concerned about their return home as snow is forecast for Saturday evening, according to a spokesman. The plan is to hold the meeting Feb. 6. Kinzinger’s criticism of Trump puts focus on divide in Illinois GOP: “The Republican State Central Committee will meet Feb. 6 to decide among three candidates for outgoing Chairman Tim Schneider. But some in the party want to use the forum to discuss Kinzinger and a possible reprimand for his anti-Trump statements, which increased in vitriol following the Nov. 3 election and the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters,” by Tribune’s Rick Pearson. Kinzinger talks to Axelrod about his impeachment vote: Rep. Adam Kinzinger is willing to lose his seat over his vote to impeach then-President Donald Trump, the Illinois Republican told CNN’s David Axelrod during an episode of “The Axe Files” podcast released Thursday. “I did it knowing full well it could very well be terminal to my career,” Kinzinger said of his vote. “But I also knew that I couldn’t live with myself having, you know, try to just protect it and just felt like the one time I was called to do a really tough duty, I didn’t do it.” And Kinzinger addresses his evangelical roots with The Atlantic’s Emma Green. – Shia Kapos

— Casey Urlacher, the Mettawa mayor pardoned by former President Donald Trump for his alleged involvement in a gambling scheme, is running for re-election as a write-in candidate now that his name has been cleared. “Even before I received a pardon, residents were encouraging me to run for reelection, to continue that progress. With the support of our residents, I made the decision that I would run for another term,” Urlacher said in a statement to Playbook. Urlacher, the brother of former Bears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher, was among 73 people pardoned or commuted by Trump during his final hours in office. A federal indictment had charged that Urlacher and nine others ran an offshore sports gambling ring that raked in millions of dollars from hundreds of Chicago-area gamblers. Urlacher was charged with conspiracy and running an illegal gambling business. With an indictment looming over him, Urlacher didn’t file to run for a third term. That changed after Trump’s pardon. Urlacher’s quick return to politics comes as many Republican lawmakers nationwide shed their concerns about Trump’s role in inciting the attack on the U.S. Capitol. “My position is unpaid, and I look forward to a positive campaign, earning the votes of residents, and serving for another term,” Urlacher said in his statement. It’s too late in the process for Urlacher to get his name printed on the ballot for the April 6 election. He faces former Mettawa Mayor Jess Ray of the Back to the Future Party. – Shia Kapos

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/big-tech-is-behaving-more-like-big-brother
(FROM THE ARTICLE: During the 1984 Super Bowl, a young company that had been founded less than a decade earlier in a garage in Los Altos, California, spent $1.5 million to its first significant commercial for a new, groundbreaking product — the Macintosh, the first personal computer. The company was Apple, and the advertisement was a defining moment that distinguished Apple as a company willing to go against the grain and rescue humanity from conformity. The ad had been inspired by George Orwell’s 1984 and featured a woman escaping police pursuit, running through a movie theater. She runs to the front of the theater and throws a hammer through a screen portraying a man’s face meant to represent Big Brother. As the camera pans to the audience, fully in shock from the movie screen’s explosion, the commercial concludes with black text that reads: “On January 24, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you’ll see why 1984 won’t be like 1984.” Nearly 40 years later, it is hard to recognize the company that paid to air this ad and established itself as a company that thinks differently. Unfortunately, that company no longer subscribes to a belief in free individual thought. It has demonstrated as much in recent weeks, taking a 180-degree turn. Apple now finds itself, along with other major Big Tech companies such as Google and Twitter, serving as Big Brother through the censorship and surveillance of conservative voices they and their political allies in Congress don’t agree with.)

https://blockclubchicago.org/2021/01/27/lightfoot-calls-out-aldermen-for-making-racist-comments-against-sanctuary-city-ordinance-shame-on-you/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The council approved the revamped law by a 41-8 vote, closing loopholes that had allowed for the Chicago Police Department to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in some scenarios. Napolitano, the council’s lone Republican member who said he’s a “proud son” of immigrants, said that by eliminating those exceptions “we are essentially welcoming criminals to our city.” “If you are an illegal immigrant and a convicted felon, or a fugitive, what better place to go than Chicago,” he said. “This ordinance irresponsibly offers protections to those who have possibly broken the law to hide underneath this ordinance and gives them safe haven from federal prosecution.” Napolitano said he knew he’d receive criticism for his “no” vote, but said he wanted the Council to know he’d “lose more sleep every night knowing how we failed our citizens with our alarming crime rate, homicides, carjackings, shootings.” Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th) said he opposed the changes “not because of racism and xenophobia, but because I too represent immigrant communities.” He said the law threatens the safety of residents in his Southwest Side ward and some undocumented immigrants in his area are gang members. “They have been sucked in by the generational violence that impacts so many of our communities,” he said. Those individuals would be treated with the “same compassion” as law abiding members, he said.)

DAILY HERALD
— Oppose racial profiling – Bradley Williams, Mundelein
https://www.dailyherald.com/discuss/20210127/oppose-racial-profiling
(FROM THE LETTER: HB0038 is currently in committee of the Illinois House of Representatives. This bill should concern Illinoisans who aspire for a community so beautifully described by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as one where people “will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” In a departure from Dr. King’s aspirations, HB0038 calls for consideration of race in the hiring process of public-school teachers. This would seem to violate several federal and state civil rights laws. Specifically, the Illinois Civil Rights Act of 2003 which explains that a unit of the state cannot “subject a person to discrimination under any program or activity on the grounds of that person’s race, color, national origin, or gender,” as well as the language of the Illinois Human Rights Act which prohibits race-based discrimination in employment. While one component of HB0038 undermines Dr. King’s message through employment considerations, another does so through mandates of curriculum and instruction at the local level. Starting as early as elementary school, HB0038 would require students to learn curriculum based in a discipline of academia that places race as an essential and defining part of human interaction. In this model, one’s status as oppressor or oppressed is heavily determined by skin color. In one application of this curriculum, groups of third-grade students analyzed their racial and sexual identities according to “power and privilege” and then wrote reflections on their status as being either privileged or oppressed. One parent described the activities as “basically teaching racism.” Humbly, I submit, a society that places race as an essentially defining element of most human interaction is not one so admirably envisioned by Dr. King. With that in mind, Illinoisans should oppose HB0038.)

— DIERSEN HEADLINE: A hate-filled Trump-hating Trump-hater promotes Adam Kinzinger and Joe Walsh. In my opinion, my becoming the only active member in GAO’s Chicago office in a class action lawsuit that charged my GAO superiors with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation in 1988 when I was 40 years old was as serious as Kinzinger’s voting to impeach Trump in 2021 when he was 42 years old. My Democrat GAO superiors immediately threw me off audits of IRS and gave me an adverse job assignments, unfair performance expectations, and unfair performance appraisals. They might have succeeded in getting rid of me if Henry Hyde had not come to my defense. However, they continued to keep me off audits of IRS, to give me unfair performance expectations, to give me unfair performance appraisals, and to always rank me in the lower half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes. In 1997 they succeeded in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer.” They were furious that I became Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990, Certified Government Financial Manager in 1994, Certified Financial Services Auditor in 1996, and Forensic Accountant in 1997 and that I earned a job-related master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT in 1997 because the aforesaid frustrated their efforts to get rid of me. If I had had drinking problems like Kinzinger had, I would not have gotten jobs washing dishes 1964-1966; cleaning golf shoes, chipping slag, and pumping gasoline in 1966; delivering mail 1966-1969; working on an automobile assembly line and as a security guard in 1970; selling tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971; pumping gasoline 1971-1972; collecting delinquent taxes 1971-1980; or auditing federal agencies 1980-1997. IRS would not have promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974 and GAO would not have promoted me in 1986. If I had had drinking problems like Kinzinger had, Loyola might not have accepted me in 1972, DePaul might not have accepted me in 1976, and IIT might not have accepted me in 1992. If I had had drinking problems like Kinzinger had, I doubt that I would have passed CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 or passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981. Kinzinger is a veteran. Starting in 1966, my Democrat superiors, Democrat supervisors, Democrat coworkers, and Democrat subordinates always used my avoiding the draft against me.)

— Disagreeing With Biden’s Transgender Policy Is ‘Incitement’ Now?! Facebook Says So… – TYLER O’NEIL

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Ironically, Gagnon’s post drew attention to Facebook’s suspension of his friend, Laurie Higgins, who got a 7-day ban for criticizing Biden’s policy. “There was absolutely no incitement to violence on our part. We abhor violence done to any person,” Gagnon told PJ Media on Tuesday. “This is just a thinly veiled and pathetic excuse for censorship of any critical views toward trans-tyranny over our consciences, religion, and reason.” Only one point of view is being allowed,” he added, ominously. “Trump was not the great danger to the Republic. Left-wing canceling is.” Gagnon, who holds a Ph.D. in Pauline theology and sexuality from Princeton Theological Seminary, has published “The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics.” He teaches as a professor of New Testament Theology at Houston Baptist University. In the post Facebook flagged, Gagnon had defended Higgins’ response to Biden’s pro-transgender military policy.)
