— Republican leaders should reform federal agencies rather than gut them. Virtually all federal employees are Democrats. Democrat politicians force them to push the Democrat Party platform, that is, to push dependency on government and charity, LGBTQ, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, diminishment of Second Amendment rights, and Affirmative Action (AA) and DEI, that is, race and gender based preference giving, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, religious discrimination, and national origin discrimination. About 1/3 of Americans are Republicans and about 1/3 are Democrats. The federal workforce should look like America. I was one of the last Republicans GAO hired. The Democrats who ran GAO in 1980, IRS in 1971, and the Post Office in 1966, hired me because they could not find a Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. They gambled and lost that I would become a Democrat. In the U.S. Congress, committee membership is determined by a combination of factors, including party affiliation. Federal agencies should be like congressional committees. For example, about 1/3 of their employees at each grade level should be Republicans and about 1/3 should be Democrats. Further, all hiring, retention, and promotion decisions should be based on merit, that is, AA and DEI should be abolished. If that had been the case when I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980, I might still be a GAO employee. GAO would have promoted me into its Senior Executive Service, currently $195,200/year.  I earned a) job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32. — Was your career wasted? I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO for almost 18 years 1980-1997. GAO works for Congress. Gingrich has always been extremely critical of GAO. If Gingrich had reformed GAO instead of gutting GAO, I might still be working for GAO. GAO audits IRS. I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980. I had worked for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 Levels, currently $99,069-$112,280/year. Instead of forcing me to take a $23,472 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer, GAO should have promoted me to GS-13, currently $117,807/year. GAO should have immediately and always assigned me to audits of IRS. If GAO had done that, I would have soon been promoted to GS-14, currently $139,211/year, GS-15, currently $163,749/year, and Senior Executive Service, currently $195,200/year. I earned master’s degrees in business in 1976, accounting in 1980, and finance in 1997. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 and the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981. I became a licensed CPA in 1981. I became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990, Government Financial Manager in 1994, Financial Services Auditor in 1996, and Forensic Accountant in 1997. But the Democrats who ran GAO wasted all that. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They succeeded in keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 years 1986-1988. They always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance. They forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997. Democrat leaders do not want Republicans to audit IRS. If I had been a Democrat, minority, female, younger, and/or veteran, my Democrat GAO superiors would not have taken the aforesaid adverse actions against me that they did. – Dave Diersen

— Judges Weigh Taking Control of Their Own Security Amid Threats. U.S. marshals, sworn to protect federal judges, ultimately answer to President Trump, who has ramped up criticism of the judiciary. I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO for almost 18 years 1980-1997. GAO works for Congress. Gingrich has always been extremely critical of GAO. If Gingrich had reformed GAO instead of gutting GAO, I might still be working for GAO. GAO audits IRS. I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980. I had worked for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 Levels, currently $99,069-$112,280/year. Instead of forcing me to take a $23,472 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer, GAO should have promoted me to GS-13, currently $117,807/year. GAO should have immediately and always assigned me to audits of IRS. If GAO had done that, I would have soon been promoted to GS-14, currently $139,211/year, GS-15, currently $163,749/year, and Senior Executive Service, currently $195,200/year. I earned master’s degrees in business in 1976, accounting in 1980, and finance in 1997. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 and the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981. I became a licensed CPA in 1981. I became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990, Government Financial Manager in 1994, Financial Services Auditor in 1996, and Forensic Accountant in 1997. But the Democrats who ran GAO wasted all that. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They succeeded in keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 years 1986-1988. They always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance. They forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997. Democrat leaders do not want Republicans to audit IRS. If I had been a Democrat, minority, female, younger, and/or veteran, my Democrat GAO superiors would not have taken the aforesaid adverse actions against me that they did.
