What I find to be emotionally exhausting must be exhilarating or validating for them. Maybe it stokes feelings of anger or suspicion or bitterness that requires fresh shovelfuls of animosity every morning in their email inbox. It only dug a hole for me, and I’m finally climbing out. No wonder our country is so divided and so cynical about anyone who thinks differently than them.
