I have been unemployed since September 30, 1997 a) when I was 49 years old, b) when my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer,” and c) when GAO’s early retirement option ended. Reasons why my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing me to retire included a) they had the power to make the 6 more years that I needed to be eligible for regular retirement a living hell, b) they had made it extremely clear that they would use that power to do that, c) GAO was not unionized, d) I could not count on my U.S. Senator or my U.S. Congressman or anyone else to come to my defense because of my terrible demographics (conservative, Republican, White, male, old, draft-avoider, non-poor, Protestant, German American, and my ancestors had been in America since 1844), e) my wife had a good job, f) we had no dependents, g) we had no debts, h) we had retirement savings, i) we owned 915 Cove Court in Wheaton and six cars (1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX, 1990 Ford Thunderbird LX, 1972 Corvette, 1968 Dodge Charger R/T, and 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS), j) my Civil Service Retirement System pension would be $63,144/year in today’s dollars, and k) the federal government would pay 72% of our health insurance premiums for the rest of our lives.

The aforesaid enabled me to graduate debt-free from NIU in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in management and owning that Charger.

In 1926, they sold all but a quarter acer of the rest of that 10 acres and had a brick home (1286 Wood Street) built on quarter acre. I lived in that home 1954-1972. My brother and I inherited that home when our mother died in 2016. I inherited that home last year when my brother died and I sold it for $99,900 last year. The home’s value declined in relative terms after my father died suddenly in 1969 and as Democrats moved into Crete. My mother inherited $4,000 when her parents died during the 1970s. My critics/opponents have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that my parents and all of my ancestors were filthy rich and that explains all of the successes that I have had in life. I should write a book about my critics/opponents. I would focus on their parents’ wealth.)

My Democrat IRS superiors were making it ever-increasingly clear that they would never promote me to GS-13, currently $109,732/year. GAO claimed to be nonpartisan. The GAO Chicago Office Staff manager (Bill) who arranged for my transfer assured me that under him, GAO would a) quickly promote me to GS-11 Step 10 (currently $100,084/year), b) quickly promote me back to GS-12 Step 5, and c) quickly promote me to GS 13. But immediately after I transferred, the Democrats who ran GAO’s Chicago Office replaced Bill with a Democrat Staff Manager (Dave) who was extremely anti-Republican, if not a Republican-hater. To delay my promotions, that is, to get me, Dave used Affirmative Action and up-or-out a) to give me bad job assignments, b) to give me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, c) to assign me to supervise the office’s most problematic employees, d) to turn all my superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates against me, and e) to kept me off audits of IRS. But then, in 1986, because Dave had gone on extended sick leave, Bill was finally able to get me assigned to audits of IRS and to promote me to GS-13. But then, in 1987, Dave came back and a) threatened me to never apply for a promotion again and forced Bill to retire. Dave then a) threw me off audits of IRS at the end of 1988, b) gave me an extremely bad job assignment at the start of 1989, c) got my supervisor to give me extremely unfair performance expectations and appraisals, d) turned my four subordinates against me, and e) ranked me at the bottom of my coworkers for pay-for-performance (PFP) purposes. That forced me to seek help from my Republican Congressman Henry Hyde. Thanks to Hyde, Dave reduced his efforts to get rid of me somewhat. But Dave still succeed in a) keeping me off audits of IRS for the rest of my GAO career, b) always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for PFP purposes, and c) forcing me to take GAO’s early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old. The aforesaid is called political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination. I should write a book about the aforesaid.
