DAILY HERALD
— DuPage County Board member John Curran appointed to state Senate vacancy – Katie Smith
http://www.dailyherald.com/news/20170722/dupage-county-board-member-appointed-to-state-senate-vacancy
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Under state election law, a new member of the Republican party must be appointed to the DuPage County Board within 60 days of Curran’s resignation, which he plans to officially submit Monday, he said. Residents of District 3, which includes parts of Downers Grove, Westmont, Burr Ridge, Hinsdale, Woodridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien and Willowbrook, can apply to at Dupageco.org/countyboard/dist3map. The newly appointed board member will serve the remainder of Curran’s term, which expires Nov. 30, 2018. County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said in a news release Saturday that he will fill Curran’s vacancy until an appointment is made. “While we will truly miss his work and his dedication to DuPage County, we are happy to see him moving on to bigger challenges,” Cronin said. “I’m confident Springfield is gaining an asset who will fight to protect residents of Illinois.” Anyone seeking appointment to the county board should email Cronin at Dan.Cronin@dupageco.org with a resume and letter, not exceeding 300 words, outlining their interest.)

— Despite budget woes, higher ed pros continue their work – Ted Slowik (DIERSEN: Do you have “high-quality degrees and credentials?”  Government is nasty.  Politics is nasty.  If I sought a government office or a political office, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes would demonize, denigrate, and condemn the bachelor’s degree in management that I earned from NIU in 1970 when I was 21 years old, the MBA that I earned from Loyola in 1976, the master’s degree in accounting that I earned from DePaul in 1980, and the master’s degree in financial markets and trading that I earned from IIT in 1997.  They would stress that none of the aforesaid universities are Ivy League and that my grades were not that great. They would demonize, denigrate, and condemn the fact that I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 and that I passed the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) examination on my first attempt in 1981. They would stress that I took CPA and CIA examination review courses and that others got higher scores on the examinations than I did. They would demonize, denigrate, and condemn the fact that I became a licensed CPA in 1981, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in 1990, a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) in 1994, a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) in 1996, and a Forensic Accountant (FA) in 1997.  They would stress that became a CFE, CGFM, CFSA, and FA by grand fathering and not by passing an examination.)

LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR
— DREAM Act divisive, elitist – RUBEN NAVARRETTE JR. (DIERSEN: From what I see, to curry favor with Democrats, employers want to gloat that they hire illegals, and that to make way for them, they do not hire citizens of America and that they get rid of citizens of America.)
http://journalstar.com/opinion/columnists/ruben-navarrette-dream-act-divisive-elitist/article_58cdae0d-39bb-588f-af15-c17ff32892f2.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: What bothered her was the insistence on going to college. What about those kids who go to vocational school or go straight to work? They didn’t deserve legal status? Someone in Washington was playing God again, deciding who stayed and who went according to a narrow definition of positive behavior. Why stop at attending college? Why not demand that beneficiaries of the DREAM Act not accept any public assistance, or abstain from smoking, or never fall into debt or not be unemployed for more than six months at any point in their lives? The new bill from Graham and Durbin is a slight improvement because it covers those who “work lawfully for at least three years.” But it also has a new requirement that recipients speak English and know U.S. history. Great idea. But shouldn’t we start by demanding those things from native-born U.S. citizens? These moral judgments are all subjective and awfully condescending. They’re all about what Graham, Durbin, and the other senators who will eventually support their bill require to make them feel comfortable with overlooking the fact that these young people are in the country illegally. Welcome to this week’s episode of the game show: “Good Immigrant, Bad Immigrant.” If Graham and Durbin want to make themselves useful in the immigration debate, they should stop treating immigrants like they’re some kind of social science experiment. Instead, they should draft a bill that would eventually legalize most of the 11 million people who are in the country illegally — whether or not they went to college or speak English. It’s no wonder that so many DREAMers experience a version of “survivor’s guilt” because they were tossed a life preserver while their parents and siblings are left to drown. All this talk about how the Trump administration is dividing families. You know what really divides families? The DREAM Act.)

— Superintendents Push Back On Rauner’s Claim They’re Scared Of Madigan  (DIERSEN: Virtually everyone is scared of those who have the most religious, government, political, and/or financial clout in their municipality, in their township/ward, in their county, in Illinois, in America, and in the world. Virtually everyone panders to, serves as an operative for, or serves as a dupe for those who have the most religious, government, political, and/or financial clout in their municipality, in their township/ward, in their county, in Illinois, in America, and in the world. They stress that I am no longer the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, the Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster, an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member, a GAO employee, etc.)

— Trump attack puts Sessions in a bind – REBECCA SAVRANSKY AND JORDAN FABIAN  (DIERSEN: The following attacks by my Democrat superiors in the federal government put me in a bind. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974.  My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

— Hits on federal retirement advance as bill is introduced to fire feds for ‘no cause at all’ – Joe Davidson (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always promoted patronage. Because I have always been a Republican, were it not for federal civil service protections, a) the Post Office would NOT have hired me in 1966 or let me work there for almost 3 years, b) IRS would NOT have hired me in 1971 or let me work there for almost 9 years, c) IRS would NOT have promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, d) GAO would NOT have hired me in 1980 or let me work there for almost 18 years, and e) GAO would NOT have promoted me in 1986.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2017/07/21/hits-on-federal-retirement-advance-as-bill-is-introduced-to-fire-feds-for-no-cause-at-all/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Future federal employees could lose their jobs much more easily under legislation introduced by Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.). He wants all new feds to be considered at-will employees, meaning they “may be removed/suspended without notice or right to appeal for good cause, bad cause, or no cause at all,” according to a summary of the legislation. This represents no understanding that civil service protections are designed to protect not just staffers, but also the public from a government bureaucracy riven with political favoritism, as was the case under the spoils system. Even members of Congress eager to fire feds faster must know that this drastic proposal runs afoul of a basic and long-standing principle that says government staffers should be protected from willy-nilly punishment by political operatives. While Rokita’s plan demonstrates the extremes to which the fire-feds-faster crowd will go, presumably, but perhaps not assuredly, there are enough people in Congress who know better. I doubt his legislation will fly. . .Not all Republicans want to punish feds. Nine GOP House members signed a letter in June opposing Trump’s proposal, because it would renege on the retirement promised to feds when they joined the government. “Congress and the administration cannot balance the federal budget on the backs of our federal workers,” said one of the letter signers, Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.), after the House plan was released Tuesday. “Many of our federal employees work at the CIA, Pentagon, FBI, law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence agencies.  They and our federal workforce are dedicated hard-working professionals who work day and night to protect our homeland and national security, cure diseases, and provide services that help the American people.”)

— The DuPage County Election Commission (DCEC) has been asked by your GOPUSA Illinois Editor to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed precinct line changes.  Please join me in this request by emailing and/or by phoning the following: Cathy Terrill – Chairperson at
cterrill@dupageco.org and 630-407-5697; James S. Lowe – Vice Chair at jlowe@dupageco.org and 630-407-5699; John J. Boske – Secretary at john.boske@dupageco.org and 630-407-5698; and Joseph H. My understanding is a) that about 100 precincts in Downers Grove Township would be affected by the proposed changes and about 12 new precincts would be added and b) that about 27 precincts in Milton Township would be affected and about 6 new precincts would be added. If you are an elected Precinct Committeeman like I have been since 2000, you understand my concerns about this. – Dave Diersen

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Shock, fears and tears as heads roll in Rauner administration – Michael Sneed (DIERSEN: What if someone concluded that Rauner is striking a more Libertarian tone instead of a more conservative tone?  Conservatives like me do NOT promote dependency on government or charity, redistribution of wealth, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, vices including booze, gambling, and pot, Islam, race or gender based preference giving, age discrimination, diminishment of the First or Second Amendments, etc.)
http://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/govs-house-cleaning-leaves-staff-in-shock-and-it-may-not-be-over/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It was a massacre.  It wasn’t pretty. There was no forewarning; it happened quickly and abruptly. And Sneed hears there is more to come. To wit: While Gov. Bruce Rauner’s press and policy troops were busting their butts during budget negotiations, plans were already afoot to make a hard right politically — clean house and bring in a new team. First up! On Monday morning, Rauner personally ousted his Chief of Staff Richard Goldberg, who was described by his troops as fiercely loyal to the governor and his mission. It would be the only one the governor would personally fire. “Everyone was in shock,” said a Rauner staffer who asked to remain anonymous. “I mean everyone came to work Monday morning. But when we were told Richard [Goldberg] was out, we had a feeling if he could do that to him — who was a leader and fiercely loyal — who wouldn’t they do that to? “Over the next 24 hours everyone was a wreck,” the source added. “Staff fear was at its height. Doors were shut. People were crying. We then watched one person’s head roll after another. When you see a friend you respect who has worked so hard get dismissed just like that, it’s very difficult.”  On Tuesday morning, Rauner’s communications director, Brad Hahn, was fired by Rauner’s new Chief of Staff Kristina Rasmussen — who had served as president of the Illinois Policy Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank. The buckshot: Hahn was calmly told his services were no longer required and was asked to clean out his office before being escorted out of the building. Laurel Patrick, who worked for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is now head of communications. On Tuesday evening, Catherine Kelly, deputy director of communications for Rauner’s administration, was also abruptly fired by Rasmussen. Kelly, however, who was also asked to clean out her office before being escorted out, was in the process of delaying an anticipated move to Texas in August, where her husband had been offered a job with a law firm. Did he see the handwriting on the wall? Lance Trover, the gov’s prickly deputy chief of staff for communications, had given his notice last month. The big question: Will Mike Mahoney, the governor’s policy chief, be told to leave? “Mike was the guy who kept the troops together, but the expectation is that there is a lot more to come in the cleaning house department,” a Rauner source said. “It’s been tough. The morale is bad. People are afraid. It has been a coup d’etat type of environment. The conservative Illinois Policy Institute has taken charge.” Sneed hears Rauner and his wife, Diana, were planning on making these changes earlier — especially in the communications department — but surprised some of their advisers on how quickly they moved to do so. “I knew a few heads would roll, but am told there’s more to come.”)

— DeSantis introduces bill to provide greater transparency over govt. pensions – Bryan Renbaum  (DIERSEN: Andrzejewski wants to know for federal retires like me: “Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system.” Since 1966, when I was 18 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for earning credits toward a Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension. Since 1997, when I was 49 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for collecting a $50,856 CSRS pension in today’s dollars.  While I worked part-time for the Post Office 1966-1969, for IRS 1971-1980, and for GAO 1980-1997, I paid into the CSRS $70,932 in yesterday’s dollars (7% of my salary). In today’s dollars, my ending GAO salary was $122,991. So far, in today’s dollars, CSRS has paid me $1,008,644 (238 months X $4,238). Andrzejewski should acknowledge that if my Democrat GAO superiors had not been allowed/encouraged to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997, I might still be working for GAO, still paying 7% of my salary into the CSRS, and CSRS would not have paid me anything. I should write a book about those who allowed/encouraged my Democrats GAO superiors to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997.  They certainly did not side with me in Diersen v. GAO.)
http://www.talkmedianews.com/featured/2017/07/12/desantis-introduces-bill-provide-greater-transparency-govt-pensions/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) told TMN Wednesday that today he will formally introduce legislation aimed at providing greater transparency over government-funded pensions. “Let’s open the books on the federal pension data. Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being spent and let’s just put that information out there for public consumption,” DeSantis said. “It’s very difficult, I think, to be opposed to that concept and so I think we’ll probably get pretty strong support,” he added. The Taxpayer-Funded Pension Disclosure Act of 2017 will be reviewed by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of the Illinois-based nonprofit taxpayer watchdog group Open the Books, spoke alongside DeSantis and said his organization worked with the congressman’s office for three months to help craft the legislation. Andrzejewski said passage of the measure would constitute a landmark victory for transparency advocates. “For the first time it would make subject to the Freedom of Information Act the release of: Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system – so we can finally bring hard data to the issues of pensions,” he explained. Andrzejewski said research by Moodys suggests that taxpayers on average foot the bill for about $150 billion per year in federal pension funds and that the number increases to about $3.5 trillion when unfunded liabilities are considered. “The amount of money that goes out in terms of retirement annuities each year dwarfs the budget of the state of Texas or dwarfs the budget in the state of Florida each year,” he explained.)

DUPAGE POLICY JOURNAL
— Who are the City of West Chicago’s highest-paid employees?  (DIERSEN: It would be great if DuPage Policy Journal would do this for GAO’s Chicago office.  My ending GAO salary of $122,991 in today’s dollars was significantly lower because of adverse actions that my Democrat GAO, IRS, and Post Office superiors took against me.

— Here are the 50 former employees of the City of West Chicago receiving the highest annual pension payouts (DIERSEN: It would be great if DuPage Policy Journal would do this for GAO’s Chicago office.  My Civil Service Retirement System pension of $50,856 is significantly lower because of adverse actions that my Democrat GAO, IRS, and Post Office superiors took against me.

ILLINOIS LEAKS
— Wheeling Trustee Mary Krueger claims First Amendment doesn’t protect offending speech – JOHN KRAFT  (DIERSEN: If you say, do, or write something that my critics/opponents disapprove of, my critics/opponents have their operatives and their dupes destroy you.  Should I write a book about my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes?  They have lots of religious, government, political, and/or financial clout in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois. They disapprove of everything that I say, do, and write, but so far, they have not been able to completely destroy me. They crow that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, the Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster, an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member, GAO employee, etc.)

ILLINOIS FAMILY INSTITUTE
— When Transparency Really Means Tyranny – Joel Erickson  (DIERSEN: Democrats want you to donate, but only to organizations that promote the Democrat Party platform.)
https://illinoisfamily.org/federal/transparency-really-means-tyranny/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In his recent video for PragerU, National Review senior fellow David French illuminates the political buzzword of “transparency” and the Left’s illicit application of the concept to the private citizen. While the government possesses an obligation to be transparent in its exercise of your tax dollars, privacy is an individual right, and no government is entitled to know whether or not you donate to a nonprofit like IFI.)

AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE
— Why People Hate The Media – ROD DREHER  (DIERSEN: I should write a book about those who promote hated of me and promote hatred of my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails. They a) reject planks in the Republican Party platform and/or the Illinois Republican Party platform and work against those like me who support those planks, b) reject the Milton Township Republican Central Committee resolution against video gambling and work against those like me who support that resolution, c) focus on destroying those like me who they cannot manipulate/dominate, d) were defendants in lawsuits that I have filed, and/or e) are operatives or dupes for the aforesaid and/or they are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America longer than their ancestors.)

— Racism Is Everywhere, So Why Not Move South? – RENIQUA ALLENJULY  (DIERSEN: One reason why I accepted IRS’s job offer in 1971 when I was 22 years old was that I had just witnessed the power that EEOC had over the private sector to destroy those who share my demographics. Just before I accepted IRS’s job offer, Oldsmobile had withdrawn a job offer that I had accepted saying that it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint.  EEOC promotes reverse discrimination, and therefore, it also promotes age discrimination.)

— All the President’s Lawyers  Donald Trump’s life and career have been defined by his legal battles. But do the attorneys who guided him through the courtrooms of New York and New Jersey know how to navigate Washington? – JONATHAN MAHLER  (DIERSEN: If I sought a government office or a political office, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes would call me litigious. I should write a book about all the lawsuits that I have filed including the judges, the defendants, the charges I made, the defenses that the defendants made, the lawyers who represented me, the lawyers who represented the defendants, the outcomes of the lawsuits, and the retaliation against me by the defendants.)

There are tremendous conflicts between many planks in the Libertarian Party platform and the Republican Party platform.  Libertarians who unethically say that they are Republican work extremely hard against me.)

— Who Do We Think Of as Poor? – TRACIE McMILLAN  (DIERSEN: Many, if not most, if not virtually all of my Democrat coworkers and subordinates in the federal government painted themselves as being poor. They hinted/implied/argued/shouted a) that instead of me, the Post Office should have hired a poor person in 1966, b) that the Post Office should gotten rid of me much sooner than it did so that a poor person could have my job, c) that instead of me, IRS should have hired a poor person in 1971, d) that instead of me, IRS should have promoted poor people in 1972, 1973, and 1974, e) that instead of me, GAO should have hired a poor person in 1980, f) that instead of me, GAO should have promoted a poor person in 1986, and g) that GAO should have gotten rid of me much sooner than it did so that a poor person could have my job and my preferred corner office.)

— What to Do With the Swastika in the Attic? – JESSICA M. In my defense, I stressed a) that all my ancestors immigrated to northeast Illinois during the 1840s and 1850s, b) that my grandfather on my father’s side fought the Germans in WWI, c) that my uncles on my mother’s side fought the Germans in WWII, and d) my father would have fought the Germans in WWII if he had not been 4-F.)

WASHINGTON POST
— An inside look at One America News, the insurgent TV network taking ‘pro-Trump’ to new heights – Marc Fisher  (DIERSEN: Just kidding, but one could compare what Robert Herring Sr. and his “One America News” (
http://www.oann.com/) does for America with Dave Diersen and what his “GOPUSA ILLINOIS” emails (www.gopillinois.com) does for Illinois.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/an-inside-look-at-one-america-news-the-insurgent-tv-network-taking-pro-trump-to-new-heights/2017/07/05/7475f0a4-4fa2-11e7-91eb-9611861a988f_story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: One America News is an obscure TV channel struggling to emerge from the cellar of the cable ratings, but it is nonetheless one of President Trump’s favorite media outlets. It’s not hard to see why: On One America newscasts, the Trump administration is a juggernaut of progress, a shining success with a daily drumbeat of achievements. One America — a tiny father-and-sons operation that often delivers four times as many stories per hour as its competitors — promises “straight news, no opinion,” promoting itself as the antidote to the Big Three cable news networks’ focus on punditry and the one big story of the moment. But since its inception in 2013, and especially since Trump began his march to the White House, One America’s owner, Robert Herring Sr., a millionaire who made his money printing circuit boards, has directed his channel to push Trump’s candidacy, scuttle stories about police shootings, encourage antiabortion stories, minimize coverage of Russian aggression, and steer away from the new president’s troubles, according to more than a dozen current and former producers, writers and anchors, as well as internal emails from Herring and his top news executives.)
