— Why teens need summer jobs and why we worry they are disappearing. Part time work makes for one of the best classrooms ever invented. DD: While I was in high school and college, few of my peers did what I did. I took bad jobs. I had to work my way through college. I did yard work in 1962, 1963, and 1964. I delivered newspapers 1962-1966. I washed dishes 1964-1966. I cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966. I delivered mail 1966-1969. I worked on an automotive assembly line in 1970. According to my critics/opponents, the aforesaid jobs prove that I have always been an unmitigated loser. My critics/opponents did not have to take bad jobs because they had wealthy parents. I spent lots of time working the aforesaid jobs. That dragged down my ACT score and my GPA.

— AUGUST 16, 2012 FLASHBACK: GOPUSA ILLINOIS NEWSLETTERS: A bunch of political info.
https://www.sj-r.com/story/news/state/2012/08/16/bernard-schoenburg-bunch-political-info/41733104007/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There are lots of websites that compile political news, and I think it’s time I share one that I find quite interesting. It’s at www.gopillinois.com, and, as you can tell by its address, it has a Republican flavor. That is an understatement reinforced with the comments added by the compiler himself — DAVID DIERSEN of Wheaton. He introduced a recent UPI story about Republicans’ views on the drought and wildfires by saying: “Democrats blame everything bad, including bad weather, on Republicans, especially on Republicans who are conservative, White, male, older, non-poor and non-veteran.” And talking of a New York Times article about a photographer arrested while on assignment in the Bronx, Diersen wrote that since 2000, he has been thrown out of, barred from, or not advised of news conferences “by Democrats, Democrat plants, RINOs (Republicans in name only), their operatives, and their dupes.” Thus, if you don’t want to read some very pointed comments, you may not want to go to gopillinois.com. But you would be missing a treasure of links to the day’s news and opinion. Diersen, 63, is a retired federal employee who became the Illinois editor of a national GOP website in 2000, and since 2004 has put out his own Illinois compilation every day. There’s usually about 50 articles daily, he says. He’s generally up by 3 a.m. He says he spends at least 10 hours a day on this passion of his, with no pay, and has put out links to more than 117,000 articles. As his comments above hinted, party regulars don’t always greet his work with relish. He includes dissident voices within the GOP tent, and some whose credibility is questionable. But he puts it all out there. He’s a GOP precinct committeeman, and he believes in people having information. He also wants to help elect Republican candidates who “will defend and advance the party’s platform.” The site makes available plenty of Diersen history, too, including how his “liberal Democrat superiors,” in his view, forced him to take early retirement at 49 from the U.S. General Accounting Office, “because of his opposition to race and gender based preference and his participation in a class action lawsuit” on that subject. He wouldn’t mind my telling you that he also passed his CPA and Certified Internal Auditor exams on first attempts more than three decades ago. Agree or disagree with him, but Diersen provides a bunch of interesting information — every day.)

— Disparate impact. DD: Hiring, retention, and promotion requirements have a disparate impact against those who are Democrat, minority, female, younger, and/or veteran. The Democrats who ran the Post Office in 1966, IRS in 1971, and GAO in 1980 hired me because they could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. I would not have survived as a federal employee for almost 30 years if I had not a) passed the postal employment test when I was 17 in 1966, b) passed the Federal Entrance Examination when I was 21, c) earned a bachelor’s degree in business when I was 21, d) earned an MBA when I was 27, e) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30, f) earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31, g) passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32, h) became a licensed CPA when I was 32, i) earned four more job-related professional certifications when I was 41, 45, 47, and 48, and j) earned a master’s degree in finance when I was 48. All of my coworkers who my Democrat superiors in the federal government promoted over me were Democrats who a) were minority, female, younger than me, and/or veteran and b) had less education than I had, had less work experience than I had, had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or had no professional license like the one I had. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997 and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate. He had less education than I had. He had less work experience than I had. He had one professional certification while I had six. He had no professional license like the one I had. In 1988, when I was 40, my Democrat GAO superiors made it clear that they would never again assign me to audits of IRS. Because of that, in 1990, I volunteered for and I got accepted by their group that audited federal financial agencies. The leader of that group wanted/demanded that her subordinates have master’s degrees in finance. So I started taking graduate evening finance courses one at a time at IIT in 1992 and earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading in 1997. — Left-wing believes 1619 is America’s ‘real’ anniversary. DD: How long have your ancestors been in America? Democrat leaders ever-increasingly use slavery to demonize, denigrate, and condemn not only Republicans, but America. Ever-increasingly, if you are the following, the longer that your ancestors have been in America, the more that Democrat leaders demonize, denigrate, and condemn you: conservative, Republican, White, male, older, non-poor, non-veteran, Protestant, and/or German American. Affirmative Action (AA) and DEI are reparations. Because I am all of the aforesaid, Democrat leaders have always made me pay the price of AA and DEI big time. I should write about that. My critics/opponents have always stressed that all my ancestors immigrated during the 1840s and 1850s. That on my father’s side, they homesteaded a 240-acre farm in southeast Crete Township and that on my mother’s side, they sharecropped a 180-acre farm in Grant Park along the Indiana border. According to my critics/opponents, my ancestors stole land from Native Americans and they benefitted tremendously from slavery and that is why I have everything that I have today.
