— Unsanctioned Pride parade draws thousands in Chicago – Madison Dibble
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/unsanctioned-pride-parade-draws-thousands-in-chicago
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Thousands of LGBT activists are gathering at an unsanctioned Pride parade in Chicago. The city’s parade was canceled because of fears of the spread of the coronavirus, but activists gathered on Sunday anyway at the “Reclaim Pride March,” which partnered the causes of Pride and the Black Lives Matter movement. Alexis Abarca, an activist who attended the march, told ABC 7 that the two movements are both advocating for an end to police brutality and racial injustice. “Every year we continue to say, yeah let’s go out to Pride, let’s go out to celebrate, but all the time we forget to highlight the fact that Black trans women are still out there and we still need justice and still need a lot of resources,” Abarca said. Aerial footage from the event showed thousands of attendees at the march. Many on Twitter expressed concern about the potential for the coronavirus to spread between marchers in Chicago, though many of the activists appeared to be wearing masks. Illinois has not fully reopened yet. Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker said the state may wait until a vaccine is present to allow gatherings of more than 50 people in places such as churches and theaters.)

FREEDOM’S JOURNAL
— WHITE WOKENESS – Charles Love (DIERSEN: Many, if not most, if not virtually all of my past and present critics/opponents in Wheaton, Milton Township, and DuPage County have had little or no contact with Blacks. While I worked for the federal government for almost 30 years (for the Post Office in Park Forest 1966-1969, for IRS in Harvey, Joliet, and Chicago 1971-1980, and for GAO in Chicago 1980-1997), many of my superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates were Black. Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme. I participated in Black History Month activities at IRS 1976-1979 and at GAO 1980-1997. I worked for the S.S. Kresges in downtown Chicago Heights 1964-1966 and for the Firestone Store in Gary, Indiana in 1970 and in downtown Chicago Heights 1970-1972. I bought a new town home in University Park in 1972 and I lived in it full-time 1972-1974, weekends 1974-1976, and then I rented it out 1976-1984. My bother continues to live in Crete.)
https://freedomsjournalinstitute.org/latest-news/opinion/white-wokeness/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Most whites don’t have many black friends who can give them firsthand accounts of what their experiences are with racism. While most blacks do experience some discrimination or racial prejudice, it is rarely violent, and it does not hold them back in a significant sense. Is racism a “systemic” or “institutional” force? For more than half a century, the United States has had no laws preventing black people from doing anything that white people can do, and government agencies and courts closely monitor socioeconomic life for any vestiges of discrimination in housing, employment, or public accommodations. The media give a distorted view of black life.)

TOWNHALL

My Democrat superiors in the federal government refuse to forgive me for a) my not being a Democrat, b) my avoiding the draft, c) my opposing political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, d) my giving up trying to have children, not adopting, and not becoming a foster parent, and e) my becoming an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. My RINO superiors in the Republican Party continue to refuse to forgive me for a) my not glorifying and praising them, b) my not pandering to them, c) my not serving as one of their personal operatives or personal dupes, d) my not giving them money, e) my sending out GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails, and f) my refusing to dump the traditional family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform. The defendants in the lawsuits that I have filed continue to do everything that they can to destroy me.)
https://townhall.com/columnists/terrypaulson/2020/06/29/the-gift-of-forgivenessamerica-as-a-work-in-progress-n2571406
(FROM THE ARTICLE: America, as successful as it has been in creating a country where people risk their fortunes and their lives trying to enter, has remained a work in progress. Its past leaders, often imperfect by today’s standards, stretched the fabric of our rich mosaic in every age to help live up to the values we first just dreamed of embracing. We aren’t what we will be, but we can be proud of how far we have come in our journey. Can we ever get beyond the racial sins of our past and present? I take heart in the Biblical story in Genesis about Joseph, the son of Jacob. Like many who were forced into slavery in America’s early history, Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous older brothers. In spite of a tragic series of events, Joseph never lost his strong belief in the God of Jacob.)

My first job after I graduated from NIU in 1970 when I was 21 years old with a bachelor’s degree in management was the “Retail Sales Manager” for the Firestone Store in Chicago Heights. I wanted a career in the automotive industry, but the job was not a good fit because a) it required me to use little of what I had learned in college, b) advancement opportunities looked bad, and c) the store manager disapproved of my demographics: draft avoider, former federal employee (Park Forest Post Office 1966-1969), college graduate, conservative, Republican, German American, Protestant, and someone whose ancestors had been in America longer than his ancestors. He would not have hired me. The Firestone Store district office hired me and granted my request to work in its Chicago Heights store. He refused to let me start until I passed a “probationary period” working for the Firestone Store in Gary, Indiana. In early 1971, he rudely, if not violently, fired me when I gave him my 2-week notice after I had accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile.)

To justify forcing me to take a $20,157 (21%) pay cut to transfer, my Democrat GAO superiors dismissed/belittled the almost 9 years of experience that I had gained working for IRS, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently, $85,084-$96,431/year. Further, they dismissed/belittled the fact that I had passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, I had almost completed the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul, I had earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976, and I had earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970. They would not have forced me to take a pay cut to transfer if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran. Further, they did not assign me to audits of IRS until 1986, promote me to GS-13 until 1986, and they never promoted me to GS-14 even though I had earned a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, I had passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, I had became a licensed CPA in 1981, Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990, Certified Government Financial Manager in 1994, Certified Financial Services Auditor in 1996, Forensic Accountant in 1997, and I earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT in 1997. https://www.forbes.com/sites/prestoncooper2/2020/06/29/new-executive-order-fights-credential-inflation-in-the-federal-civil-service/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to fill job vacancies based on merit, rather than require a minimum level of education for candidates seeking open positions. The order rightly recognizes that a job candidate with several years of relevant experience may be just as qualified, if not more so, than one who has collected a stack of advanced degrees. “Employers adopting skills- and competency-based hiring recognize that an overreliance on college degrees excludes capable candidates and undermines labor-market efficiencies,” the order reads. “Currently, for most Federal jobs, traditional education — high school, college, or graduate-level — rather than experiential learning is either an absolute requirement or the only path to consideration for candidates without many years of experience.” The order still allows federal agencies to prescribe minimum educational requirements for job candidates if the degree is legally required by the state or local government where the federal employee will be working. Additionally, they may consider a candidate’s education if the degree “directly reflects the competencies necessary” to do the job. In other cases, agencies must fill job openings based on the “specific skills and competencies” that the positions require. An agency seeking a computer programmer will not be allowed to turn away a candidate with several years of relevant programming experience simply because he hasn’t had the time or money to go back to school for a master’s degree. Instead, federal agencies will develop assessment practices to determine a candidate’s skills and qualifications for the job. These may take the form of formal skills tests or some other means of assessment, but cannot rely only on job candidates’ self-evaluations of their skills. Changes to job classification and qualification standards will take effect within 180 days.)

— TRAGIC, DISGUSTING: Who is more likely to smoke marijuana? – Daniella Genovese
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/more-likely-smoke-marijuana-194842942.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: According to a July 2019 poll from Gallup, which surveyed 1,525 adults across the nation who were at least 18 years old, the likelihood of someone smoking marijuana “varies significantly” by gender, age, region and political ideology. Overall, the survey indicated that adults between 18 to 29 years old are the age group most likely to smoke marijuana. According to the findings, 22 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds revealed they smoked, which makes them twice as likely to smoke compared to adults from 30-49 years old and seven times as likely as adults older than 65 years old. Eleven percent of adults from 30-49 years admitted to smoking and 12 percent of people ages 50 to 64 do. Meanwhile, only three percent of people over the age of 65 admitted to smoking. . .Aside from age, the results also revealed that men are twice as likely to smoke marijuana than women. Additionally, liberals are six times more likely to smoke than conservatives and twice as likely as moderates, according to the findings.)

— Public service and the federal government – Fiona Hill (DIERSEN: Who looks down on you? From what I see, ever-increasingly, Republicans look down on federal employees and look down on federal retirees. I was a federal employee for almost 30 years and I have been a federal retiree for almost 23 years.)
https://www.brookings.edu/policy2020/votervital/public-service-and-the-federal-government/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Popular appreciation of and respect for government service and public servants have steadily declined in the United States since the 1960s, with only two brief exceptions: in the 1990s during the Clinton administration, and in the months immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. There is a particularly deep sense of distrust in the U.S. federal government. In an April 2019 Pew Research Center poll, for example, only 17% of respondents indicated that they trusted the federal government “to do the right thing.” Why is this the case? While there is significant support for the vital functions public servants perform at the local and state levels, and during crises, deeply entrenched misconceptions about the U.S. federal government and its individual agencies shape more negative views. For example, the opinion that the U.S. government is vast and unwieldly is widespread outside the public sector. The U.S. population has been evenly split for several years in its views on the optimal size of the U.S. government—with 47% of those polled by Pew in 2019 seeing government as either too big or too small. The two perspectives reveal a sharp partisan divide. Sixty-seven percent of those who affiliate with the Democratic Party express support for the expansion of government services. On the “too big” side of the ledger, 74% of those who describe themselves as Republicans want to see the government shrink in both size and functions. Newspaper and opinion page headlines such as “The sheer size of our government workforce is an alarming problem” encapsulate this view.)

NATIONAL REVIEW
— The Return of Exclusivity – MICHAEL BRENDAN DOUGHERTY (DIERSEN: Since 2000 when I was 52 years old, my critics/opponents have been beyond furious that I have had the time and the money needed to put GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails together and to send them out free of charge and without any advertising or forced survey questions. I have that time and that money because my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old. Why was I eligible to take early retirement? I had worked for the federal government for almost 30 years – almost 18 years working for GAO 1980-1997, almost 9 years working for IRS 1971-1980, and almost 3 years working for the Post Office 1966-1969. The last 11 years that I worked for GAO was at the GS-13 Step 1-10 levels, currently $101,176-$131,532/year. My critics/opponents paint my Civil Service Retirement System pension and my federal health, dental, and vision insurance subsidy as being an “unfair advantage.” My critics/opponents would never stoop to take the federal jobs that I did. I should write a book about my critics/opponents who have not and would not seek a job with the federal government a) because the pay and benefits are terrible, b) because the advancement opportunities are terrible, c) because they lack required education, work experience, professional certifications, and/or professional licenses, d) because they cannot pass an employment examination, e) because they cannot pass a background investigation, and/or f) because they cannot pass a physical examination.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: For socialists and those who lean that way, pandemic time is boom time. Washington is printing and spending money like never before and both parties support sending cash to businesses and the unemployed. Rent and mortgage payments are being deferred, Medicare-for-all is getting a second look and support is growing for a program that would take the nation across the economic Rubicon — a guaranteed basic income. Seldom is heard those cautionary words of yesteryear, “moral hazard.” A time of great need and fear is shattering any stigma about being on the dole. A logical conclusion is that politics will follow culture and Bernie Sanders- and AOC-types will call the shots in America. Unless Republicans and conservatives get on board, they will be consigned to history’s dustbin. Perhaps. But pay attention to another potential reaction to the pandemic. https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2020-05-22/coronavirus-reopening-preexisting-conditions-seniors-older-workers
(FROM THE ARTICLE: With some 39 million Americans filing jobless claims since the pandemic broke out and fears growing of another Great Depression, getting workplaces open has become a priority. That’s a tricky proposition as the number of coronavirus cases and deaths mount, even if the rate of transmission slows in some places. But for workers especially vulnerable to complications from COVID-19, a return to work can feel like a death sentence. That’s not a small group. Some 41 million Americans ages 18 to 64 are at risk for serious complications from COVID-19 due to underlying conditions such as diabetes, uncontrolled asthma and heart disease, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation analysis. Also at risk are Americans 65 and older, about 10.4 million of whom remain in the workforce — an age group that accounts for 80% of U.S. COVID deaths. . .While federal law provides special protections for workers who have disabilities or are older, ultimately they can be recalled to the workplace, even if it can’t be made 100% safe. And should employers try to prevent certain employees from returning to their jobs, they could face discrimination claims from older workers and disabled workers. . .Workers who are diabetic or asthmatic or have other conditions that are considered disabilities are offered special protections by the Americans with Disabilities Act, which requires employers to provide so-called “reasonable accommodations” as needed. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act offers workers older than 40 protections against discrimination on the basis of their age. Questions linger about whether and how such protections will shield workers who are older or have medical conditions in the time of the coronavirus. “It’s definitely a minefield for employers,” said Walter Stella, a labor and employment attorney at Cozen O’Connor, which represents employers. “The traditional reasonable accommodation analysis requires employers to accommodate disabled employees so that they can continue to perform the essential functions of their jobs. The focus of the law is not to give employees a reasonable accommodation so that they don’t get the coronavirus.” That legal analysis rubs up against the demands of employee advocates who say that providing a safe workplace is the fundamental duty of employers amid the pandemic.)

Consequently, ever-increasingly, governments, businesses, and organizations get rid of their employees and members who are White, male, older, heterosexual, and/or non-veteran.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The veteran downstate legislator who is preparing to pass the legislative baton of his rural State Senate district over to House Representative Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) next January was not entertained by Bailey’s public act of defiance when he refused to wear a face mask on the floor of the Illinois House on Wednesday. “I would not have done that,” Senator Dale Righter (R-Mattoon) said in an interview Thursday morning, arguing that in orchestrating his own ejection from the House floor, Bailey also effectively abandoned his duties as an elected official in the legislature. Bailey won the March primary election to replace Righter, who is retiring from the statehouse after 23 years in office. Bailey is running unopposed for the Senate seat in November.)

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sanders-convention-delegates-push-back
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The agreements – first reported by the Washington Post and confirmed by Fox News – call on Sanders delegates to “Refrain from making negative statements about other candidates, party leaders, Campaigns, Campaign staffers, supporters, news organizations or journalists. This Campaign is about the issues and finding solutions to America’s problems. Our job is to differentiate the senator from his opponents on the issues — not through personal attacks.” Another of the 10 rules listed in the document states: “Do your best to avoid online arguments or confrontations. … If engaging in an adversarial conversation, be respectful when addressing opposing viewpoints or commenting on the opposition.” And the agreement states that “If a member of the media contacts you about a posting of any kind: do not respond.” Instead, it directs them to contact the Sanders press team. The document states that “failure to comply with these expectations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to your removal from the delegation.” The agreements were sent to some Sanders delegates across the country last week.)

— The GOP Is the Problem. Is ‘Human Identity Politics’ the Solution? – Eric Levitz
https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/05/polarization-republicans-democracy-ezra-klein-book-review.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A large minority of African-American Democrats are social conservatives who believe that it is “always wrong” for two people of the same sex to engage in intercourse. One-third of Democratic voters believe that discrimination against whites is at least as big of a problem in the U.S. as discrimination against blacks. And for all of the talk of blue America’s supposed multiculturalism, a majority of Democratic voters agree with the statement “speaking English is essential for being a true American.” In other words: It isn’t actually the case that the median Democrat lacks all connection to the Republican Party’s dominant identity groups. There simply are not enough nonwhite (and/or enlightened white), secular, cosmopolitan, urban-dwelling people in the U.S. for a national party to be predominantly composed of them.)

For example, will the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) officially adopt the following policy those who are White, male, and/or non-veteran: township/ward party organization officers must be under age 30, county party organization officers must be under age 35, IRP State Central Committee members must be under age 40, and IRP officers must be under age 50?)
https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/age-is-more-than-a-number-trends-in-89175/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Various factors have created a workplace phenomenon that is both underreported and underestimated: an aging workforce and increasing incidence of age discrimination. As people in this country are living longer, the cost of living continues to rise, and the pension model nears extinction, many older Americans continue to work well into their 70’s. Combine that with stereotypes borne of both bygone eras and the current tech-forward attitudes of the younger workforce, and the incidence of age-based discrimination in the workplace is increasing – though the problem is not typically viewed or treated as seriously as other forms of discrimination. Despite laws in place to protect older workers, many hurdles exist in identifying and addressing the issue.)
