— Pritzker receives pushback for comments comparing Trump and the MAGA movement to Nazi Germany. (COMMENT: If you are a conservative Republican and White, male, older, Christian, and/or German American, the more demographics that you share with Hitler, the more that Democrat and RINO leaders hint/imply/argue/shout that you are a Nazi. Hitler was White, male, older, Christian, and German American.)
https://www.fox32chicago.com/video/1597352
(FROM WIKIPEDIA: The religious beliefs of Adolf Hitler, dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, have been a matter of debate. His opinions regarding religious matters changed considerably over time. During the beginning of his political career, Hitler publicly expressed favorable opinions towards traditional Christian ideals, but later deviated from them. Most historians describe his later posture as adversarial to organized Christianity and established Christian denominations. He also staunchly criticized atheism. Hitler was born to a practicing Catholic mother, Klara Hitler, and was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church; his father, Alois Hitler, was a free-thinker and skeptical of the Catholic Church. In 1904, he was confirmed at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Linz, Austria, where the family lived. . .Toland offers the opinion that Hitler “carried within him its teaching that the Jew was the killer of God. The extermination, therefore, could be done without a twinge of conscience since he was merely acting as the avenging hand of God …” Michael Rissmann notes that, according to several witnesses who lived with Hitler in a men’s home in Vienna, he never again attended Mass or received the sacraments after leaving home at 18 years old. In a speech in 1932, Hitler declared himself “not a Catholic and not a Protestant, but a German Christian”.)

— What are Affirmative Action (AA) and DEI? They are tools that Democrats and RINOs use to get rid of Republicans. I should write about how my Democrat superiors in the federal government used AA and DEI to waste my career and to force me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997. I should write about how RINO leaders of the following used DEI to get rid of me: a) Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and Illinois Republican Party leaders, b) Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, and Illinois leaders, c) conservative leaders, and d) religious leaders. – Dave Diersen

— How would your life have been different if Trump had ended Affirmative Action and DEI earlier? For me, it would have been much more difficult for my Democrat superiors in the federal government to take adverse actions against me and to force me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997. Because I earned three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license, the federal government would have promoted me into its Senior Executive Service before I was 40 years old in 1988. – Dave Diersen

In my defense, I stress that even though I had to work my way through college, I went on to earn three master’s degrees, six professional certifications, and a professional license. To call someone a Nazi in America today is like calling someone a Jew in Germany during the 1920s, 19390s, and 1940s. Anticipate/expect that Pritzker will focus on those in the 2.4 million who share the most demographics with Trump but not with Pritzker, that is, those who are Protestant and/or German American. – Dave Diersen

— The mainstream news media ever-increasingly carries out Democrat Party orders to negatively spin and to demonize, denigrate, and condemn everything that Trump says and does. I base that on what I see spending 10-15 hours each and every day putting GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters together and sending them out. I should write about that. – Dave Diersen

— I was involved in IRS’s 1974 tax season big time. Have you ever phoned IRS with a tax question? If you did during the 1974 filing season, the IRS employee who answered your call was one of my subordinates. Back then, as a 25-year-old GS-11 (currently $82,655/year) IRS Revenue Officer, I supervised all of the IRS employees, which included a rotating staff of about 90 IRS Revenue Agent trainees, in IRS’s new downtown Chicago office who answered taxpayer questions using IRS’s new tollfree CentiPhone system. Because of my job performance, the IRS manager who had given me that developmental opportunity and who had promoted me in 1972 and 1973 promoted me to GS-12 (currently $99,069/year) in 1974.- Dave Diersen

— Have you ever had to compete against immigrants? What percent of restaurant employees are immigrants? I washed dishes for the minimum wage in the basement of the S.S. Kresge in Chicago Heights 1964-1966. If there had been as many immigrants back then as there are now, they would have gotten that job as well as all the jobs that I had 1964-1970. The money that I earned and saved washing dishes enabled me to buy a new 1966 Pontiac Tempest Sprint in May of 1966. I used that car to get to/from my parents’ home in Crete and a) jobs cleaning golf shoes, chipping slag, and pumping gasoline during the summer of 1966, b) delivering mail during 1966 and 1967, and c) classes at UIC 1966 and1967. I sold that car in late 1967 and bought a new 1968 Oldsmobile 442 that I used delivering mail 1967 and1968 and getting to/from classes at UIC. I sold that car in late 1968 and bought a new 1969 Dodge Charger SE that I used delivering mail 1968 and 1969, getting to/from classes at NIU, and working on the Chrysler assemble line in Belvidere in 1970. – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com
— Have you been discriminated against? According to my critics/opponents, no one has ever discriminated against me for any reason. Have you had adverse employment actions taken against you? According to my Democrat superiors in the federal government, all the adverse employment actions that they took against me were justified. In my defense, I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree, three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license. In my defense, my Democrat superiors never cited any performance problems or employee complaints against me to justify any of the adverse actions that they took against me. In my defense. all my coworkers who my Democrat superiors promoted over me were Democrats who had less work experience than I had, had less education than I had, had no professional certifications or fewer than I had, and/or had no professional license like the one I had and/or were minority, female, younger, veteran, non-Protestant, non-German American, and/or had ancestors who had not been in America for a long time. In my defense, my Democrat GAO superiors have never denied a) that I complained about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, religious discrimination, and national origin discrimination or b) that I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation when I was 40 years old in 1988. – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com
— What pretexts have been used against you to justify adverse actions against you? When I was 20 years old in 1969, to force me to resign, my Democrat Post Office superiors falsely argued that I would not be available to work enough part-time hours. Starting in 1974, to not promote me to GS-13, my Democrat IRS and GAO superiors used up-or-out to falsely hint/imply/argue/shout that I was too old to be promoted to GS-13. In 1974, to disallow my travel vouchers, my Democrat IRS superiors falsely charged me with living inside their commuting area. In 1978, to disallow my education deductions, they falsely argued that the courses that I took did not relate to my job duties, did not maintain or improve my job skills, qualified me for a new trade or business, and were taken by me to get a job in the private sector. In 1980, to justify forcing me to take a $23,472/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO, my Democrat GAO superiors falsely argued that the work that I did for IRS was not similar to the work that I would do for GAO and that my earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976, that my passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, and that my almost completing the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul were not enough. To keep me off audits of IRS, they falsely badmouthed what I had learned about IRS by working for it for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 Levels, currently $99,069-$112,280/year and stressed the adverse actions that my Democrat IRS superiors had taken against me and falsely hinted/implied/argued/shouted that because of that, I could not be objective, that I would take revenge against my former IRS superiors. To delay my promotions, to not promote me beyond GS-13, and to always rank me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay for performance, they falsely used the tremendous subjectivity in their performance appraisal system. In 1997, to force me to take their early retirement “offer,” they falsely denied that they told me that if I did not retire, they would demote me, they would give me adverse transfers, and/or they would take even bigger adverse actions against me. – Dave Diersen

— The Democrats who ran the Park Forest Post Office hired me in 1966 because they could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. I had passed the postal employment examination, I had earned a diploma from Crete-Monee High School, and I was taking classes at UIC. Virtually all my superiors, supervisors, and coworkers were Democrat veterans. My Democrat Post Office superiors despised/hated Republicans, and especially draft avoiding Republicans like me. They disallowed my sick leave requests in 1968 and 1969 and they forced me to resign in 1969 falsely claiming that I was not available to work enough part-time hours. I was available each and every a) Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, b) holiday, and c) day that NIU was not in session. – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com
— To get more votes from Blacks, Democrat leaders ever-increasingly hint/imply/argue/shout at Blacks that Republicans cause all the problems that Blacks have. According to my critics/opponents, all the federal jobs and promotions that I got should have been given to Blacks instead of me. The Post Office hired me when I was 18 years old in 1966. IRS hired me in 1971 and promoted me in 1972, 1973, and 1974. GAO hired me in 1980 and promoted me in 1986. GAO forced me to retire in 1997 and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate. He had less work experience than I had, less education than I had, one professional certification while I had six, and had no professional license like the one I had. – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com
— Are you involved in politics? If so, what do your critics/opponents use against you? My critics/opponents in Republican politics use a) my promoting the individual responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform, b) my promoting direct election of Illinois Republican Party State Central Committee members, c) my supporting Pat O’Malley in the Illinois Republican gubernatorial primary in 2002, d) my serving on the Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee 2003-2007, e) my serving as the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, and f) my serving as the Republican fundraiser for Wheaton Independence Day parades and firework 2005-2021. – Dave Diersen

— The Associated Press exposes its hate for Trump … again
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/feb/12/associated-press-exposes-hate-trump/
— U.S. government employees overwhelmingly back Democrats. In politics, nothing indicates loyalty more than where people put their money. (COMMENT: While I was a federal employee for almost 30 years, virtually all my superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates were Democrats.)
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/feb/11/u-government-employees-overwhelmingly-back-democra/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The federal workforce has become an integral part of the Democratic Party power structure, rivaling the liberal mainstream media, billionaire donors and the activist nonprofits they fund as its most important political ally. This is why Democrats are proclaiming a guerrilla street revolution. They want to stop President Trump and point man Elon Musk from downsizing their army and from surgically removing liberal agenda offices, agencies and leaders — a force it took Democrats years to put into place. Mr. Musk immediately targeted the U.S. Agency for International Development and its exporting of woke ideologies. Federal election records show that USAID personnel contributed $240,000 to the Kamala Harris campaign in the 2024 election cycle and just $999 to Mr. Trump. Of USAID’s top 20 funded candidates, just one was a Republican. President Biden used executive orders to open the southern border to drug cartel-smuggled migrants, to rewrite Title IX for men in women’s sports and to repay students’ delinquent loans without congressional approval. Democrats cheered. They warn Mr. Trump not to downsize the U.S. government, as our national debt reaches $36 trillion, or we’ll impeach him again. OpenSecrets.org, which tracks campaign donations, shows that government workers bankroll Democrats in large ratios. In politics, nothing indicates loyalty more than where people put their money. Employees in the government’s 15 Cabinet-level departments, such as Defense, State and Justice, contributed over $9 million to candidate Harris compared with $1.6 million to Mr. Trump. Looking at federal employees collectively would put them in the top 12 of Harris donors. “One of the reasons the left gravitates to the bureaucracies is because they know it allows them to exercise unaccountable power,” Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, told me. His group has uncovered government misconduct by aggressively pursuing Freedom of Information Act lawsuits. Mr. Fitton added, “History shows effective conservative government reformers will be targeted, isolated, harassed, smeared and destroyed. And public employee unions necessarily have an interest in bigger government, which means they are allied with and support leftist and Democratic Party politicians.” For example, when IRS whistleblowers came forward to testify about Mr. Biden’s family corruption, agency higher-ups smashed them. Special Agents Joe Ziegler and Gary Shapley testified to the House Ways and Means Committee in 2023 that the Justice Department blocked their probe of Hunter Biden into income tax fraud. In December, the Office of Special Counsel, an independent agency that protects against whistleblower reprisals, concluded that the two were the victims of illegal gag orders and workplace retaliations by top IRS officials. IRS employees donated $644,000 to Democrats and $135,000 to Republicans in the 2024 election cycle.)

CNN
— Government watchdogs fired by Trump sue to get their jobs back
https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/12/politics/inspector-general-lawsuit-fired-trump
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Eight inspectors general whom Donald Trump fired from their federal agency watchdog posts are suing for their jobs back, adding to the legal scrutiny over Trump’s first weeks of decisions in the White House and raising questions about his political intentions. They say that Trump shouldn’t have been able to fire them in late January without first notifying Congress and that the White House ignored regulations around their removal that existed to protect them from political interference and retribution. The administration’s “actions have inflicted substantial damage on the critical oversight ethos of transparency, truth-telling without fear or favor, and respect for the rule of law,” the lawsuit, filed in Washington, DC’s federal court on Wednesday, states. The lawsuit is the latest among more than four dozen filed in federal courts to challenge swift, early executive actions by the Trump administration. Many of the lawsuits, like Wednesday’s, allege that Trump’s White House is depriving Congress of some of its power. The IG’s case adds to a pile of challenges from government workers the Trump administration has removed from various posts — especially those in independent or non-political roles. The dismissals also raise questions over Trump and temporary government adviser Elon Musk’s adversarial approach to existing, long-established federal corruption watchdogs, at a time Trump and Musk are dismantling parts of the government, citing in part a desire to root out corruption. Trump’s dismissal of 18 IGs happened in the first week of his second term, when the watchdogs each received two-sentence emails titled “White House Notification” from the Office of Presidential Personnel. The reason they were given was “changing priorities,” which is not a sufficient reason under the law, their lawsuit claims. Soon after, the IG’s government email access was shut off, and they couldn’t return to their office buildings. “Their purported removals were legal nullities, and so they remain the duly appointed IGs of their respective agencies, unless and until the President lawfully removes them in compliance,” attorneys for the eight IGs wrote. “Plaintiffs’ integrity has been baselessly maligned publicly, with the abrupt and unlawful nature of their purported removals incorrectly implying that plaintiffs have done something wrong when in fact they have each done nothing but uphold the values of their positions and the IG community,” the suit adds. The IGs allege Trump has told Congress – as is required by law – nothing. The lawsuit instead points out the president commented to the press some IGs “were not doing their job.” Trump fired a 19th inspector general, the USAID’s watchdog, this week. The inspectors general, in positions across many government agencies, work to find and prevent waste, fraud and abuse within federal departments. The IGs say their work is non-partisan and ultimately saves taxpayers billions of dollars, protects vulnerable Americans’ rights and safeguards national security, according to the complaint. Those whom Trump fired include IGs at crucial departments including Defense, Health and Human Services, State and Veterans Affairs who say their work has saved the agencies millions of dollars. One of the IGs who is suing, Phyllis Fong, had been in her position at the Department of Agriculture for more than 20 years. After Fong was told she was fired, she continued to go to work, “recognizing that her termination was not effective because it failed to comply with the IG Act’s requirements,” her attorneys wrote, until her federal badge was deactivated and her computer and phone were taken back by the Department of Agriculture. Several of those who are suing had worked under Trump during his first term in the presidency, and one, Hannibal “Mike” Ware of the Small Business Administration, had been Trump’s nominee for the post in 2018. The other IGs who are suing are: Robert Storch of the Defense Department; Michael Missal of Veterans Affairs; Christi Grimm of Health and Human Services; Cardell Richardson of the State Department; Sandra Bruce of the Education Department; and Larry Turner of the Department of Labor.)

Anthony Hyde, Hyde’s son who lives in North Aurora, said his father was his hero. “No matter how you vote today, nothing will ever change that,” he said. “The chair and others in this room have stated the reason you want to remove his name from the judicial center is because of his position on abortion and, in particular, the Hyde Amendment. … Believe me when I say I can empathize with your position. “But also understand that my father was more than just a one-note politician. My father was a statesman for this country. He advocated for those in need locally, nationally and globally.” Public comment totaled 30 minutes. FROM ILLINOIS CENTER-LEFT SOURCES

CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Why Henry Hyde’s name should stay on the DuPage County courthouse. The GOP powerhouse stood for far more than his famous eponymous abortion amendment.
https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/02/10/editorial-henry-hyde-dupage-county-courthouse/
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: History often is complex and resistant to simple narratives. So are people. So it is a needlessly divisive mistake for DuPage County Board Chair Deborah Conroy to push for her fellow board members to remove the name of the late Henry J. Hyde, longtime Republican congressman, from the county courthouse. The board is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the issue. Hyde represented DuPage, which until recent years was a Republican power center, in Washington for more than three decades, retiring in 2007. During that time, Hyde wasn’t some low-profile lifer in Congress. He was one of the House’s most prominent members, even when he was serving in the minority, which is to say most of his career there. Conroy’s rationale for removing Hyde’s name from the court building is that the staunchly anti-abortion politician was responsible for the Hyde Amendment, the provision in federal law that for decades barred spending federal taxpayer money on abortions with exceptions for rape, incest or endangerment to the life of the mother. “It’s strictly because of the Hyde Amendment, and it’s very difficult for so many women to walk into the courthouse and see (his name),” she told the Tribune. Abortion rights is an issue that only has grown more intense since Hyde died 10 months after his retirement. We understand the symbolic argument. But to strip his name from the building would be akin to removing Richard J. Daley’s name from the courthouse in the heart of the Loop over a single issue — say, the police beating of protesters at the 1968 Democratic convention on his orders, the culture of corruption that the Daley machine fostered or his brutal segregationist policies. Even many ardent Daley critics wouldn’t suggest doing so. Why is that? Because Daley is a singularly important figure in the history of Chicago and to rename the Daley Center or Daley Plaza would be to try to negate that history. Like Daley, Hyde was a complicated figure and far more than the name adorning a famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) piece of legislation. Memories are short, of course, but for most of his career Hyde was an intellectual heavyweight on the Republican side of the aisle. Agree or disagree, but when Hyde took the floor to speak, people listened. And for good reason. He was a thoughtful conservative. Consider this: Hyde stepped down in 1981 from the advisory board of the National Pro-Life Political Action Committee after Executive Director Peter Gemma Jr. identified incumbent lawmakers the group planned to work to defeat. Hyde objected to targeting officeholders over a single issue. Much the way the DuPage board is considering doing Tuesday. Would the Democratic majority on the DuPage board consider themselves in favor of reasonable gun regulation? If so, against the consensus of his party, Hyde in 1994 voted for President Bill Clinton’s ban on assault weapons, demonstrating that he could be persuaded to change his mind on a monumental issue of the day. Just three years earlier, he had voted against the same ban. Hyde reversed himself after reading detailed accounts of gun victims in Chicago, provided by Democratic Sen. Paul Simon of Illinois. “At the end of reading this list of bloody crimes, I had to conclude these guns have no purpose but to kill a lot of people very rapidly,” Hyde said. “It wasn’t like falling off a horse on the road to Damascus. But like many things complicated and emotional, you don’t dwell on them unless forced to.” Hyde’s change of heart induced Illinois Rep. Bob Michel, then GOP minority leader, and dozens more Republicans to vote for the ban. Such political courage is almost impossible to imagine on today’s Capitol Hill. Of course, four years later Hyde led Clinton’s impeachment proceedings on behalf of the House before the Senate, leading critics to disclose Hyde’s yearslong extramarital affair decades earlier and accusing him of hypocrisy. Hyde admitted to cheating on his wife but claimed Clinton’s alleged wrongdoing was about Clinton’s cover-up attempts rather than his actual affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The public didn’t buy it, and Hyde paid a reputational price in the process. All of this is to say that Henry Hyde was complicated. Just like most people. But what is indisputable is that he was one of the most important political figures to emerge from DuPage County. Ever. His name should stay on that courthouse.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “He had a lot of support, a lot of friends on the other side of the aisle. He strikes me as a kind of official that we should be looking to model ourselves after, not disrespect,” said DuPage County GOP Chair Kevin Coyne. While he was bipartisan on certain issues such as gun control and the Family and Medical Leave Act, Hyde was one of Congress’ biggest opponents of abortion. He authored the Hyde Amendment, which denied abortion access to poor women on Medicaid. . .The board will vote on the resolution to remove Hyde’s name on Tuesday. With a Democratic majority, Conroy says, the proposal will pass. “To cherry-pick this one issue and hold it against a man that was such a big part of our history, to me, is just wrong. It’s short sighted,” Coyne said. Coyne says the decision to remove Hyde’s name may ruin the bipartisanship Conroy says she has proudly created while serving as chair.)

https://www.dailyherald.com/20250209/news/dupage-county-board-resolution-would-henry-hydes-name-from-courthouse/
(FROM THEW ARTICLE: A resolution before the DuPage County Board on Tuesday would remove the name of the late Congressman Henry J. Hyde from the county’s Wheaton courthouse and rescind previous approval for a monument there in his honor. The courthouse became the Henry J. Hyde Judicial Office Facility in 2010, three years after the Republican lawmaker from Wood Dale died at 83 years old. The new measure, if approved, would rename the building the DuPage County Judicial Office Facility. During an interview Sunday, County Board Chair Deb Conroy referenced the Hyde Amendment, legislation introduced by Hyde in 1976 that prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortions, with some exceptions. “While Henry Hyde was a very well respected Republican elected official, the Hyde Amendment is very offensive to women, particularly women in Illinois,” said Conroy, a Democrat from Elmhurst. “I think overwhelmingly women in Illinois believe that all women have the right to health care, regardless of their ability to have private insurance.” Conroy said she told a Daily Herald editorial board in 2022 that she would take this action if elected chair. “I consider myself a woman of my word,” she added. “I very much value my bipartisan board, and we work very well together, which is why I put it off for two years.” If the full board approved the resolution, the Hyde family would receive a plaque that would be removed from the building. James Zay, a Republican county board member from Carol Stream, called the effort to remove Hyde’s name “narrow-minded.” “Henry Hyde did so much for DuPage County,” said Zay, who supported the renaming in 2010. “He brought so much funding into DuPage County for stormwater, for roads.” While the conservative Hyde may be best known for the amendment that bears his name, as well as his leading role in the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, Zay noted that he also supported gun control measures like the Brady bill and assault weapons ban. “You can’t rewrite history,” he added. “My question is, who is next? Is it going to be Linda Kurzawa’s name at the health department building? Or Jack Knuepfer? Or Pate Philip?”
But county board member Dawn DeSart, a Democrat from Aurora, said the proposed move reflects a shift away from partisanship. “The fair thing is to make the courthouse nonpartisan,” she said. The board is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the county board room at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton.)

— HENRY HYDE’S NAME: The DuPage County Board is considering a resolution at that would change the name of the Henry J. Hyde Judicial Office Facility to the Judicial Office Facility, stripping Hyde’s name from the title. Hyde is the late Illinois congressman and abortion-rights opponent who’s known for the Hyde Amendment, which bars the government from helping fund abortions. The reason: “While Congressman Hyde was a well respected Republican elected official, the Hyde Amendment is very offensive to women,” said Board Chair Deb Conway, who’s behind the resolution. “Women who cannot afford private insurance should not have less access to health care.” During her campaign for the board, Conway told the Daily Herald she would remove Hyde’s name from the court building. Conway is a Democrat who previously served in the Illinois House. Her resolution has drawn scrutiny from Jeanne Ives, a Republican who also served in the Illinois House. In her Breakthrough Ideas email, Ives called the resolution “mean-spirited,” noting it follows President Donald Trump’s executive order Enforcing the Hyde Amendment. ( https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/enforcing-the-hyde-amendment/ ) The DuPage County Republican Party posted a message on its Facebook page urging residents to tell board members to reject the measure.

— Concerns about federal employee buyout program (COMMENT: What is your position on buyouts and early retirement offers? In 1993, the Democrats who ran GAO “offered” $25,000 buyouts and early retirement to get rid of their employees who were Republican, older, White, male, non-veteran, GS-13, and had 25 years or more of federal service. I was “eligible,” that is, I was “targeted” because I was all of the aforesaid. They succeeded in forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old just before their “offer” expired. If I had not succumbed, I would not have been eligible for regular retirement until 2003. Their forcing me to retire wasted what I had learned a) working for GAO for 18 years and for IRS for 9 years, b) earning three job-related master’s degrees (finance-1997, accounting-1980, and business-1976), c) six job-related professional certifications (forensic accounting-1997, financial services auditing-1996, government financial management-1994, fraud examination-1990, internal auditing-1981, and accounting-1979) and d) earning a job-related professional license (CPA-1981).)

Of the eight Republican congressional candidates who ran in the suburbs last year, the 10th District’s Jim Carris of Lake Forest spent the most — nearly $681,000. The campaign spending totals for four others — Rice in the 8th District plus James Marter in the 14th, Jerry Evans in the 11th and Niki Conforti in the 6th — were lower in the six-figure range. Ramirez’s GOP challenger in the 3rd District, John Booras, spent less than $40,000 on his campaign; the 9th District’s Seth Cohen spent less than $8,000 on his race. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Friess, a veteran, agrees that servicemen should be reinstated and questioned the necessity of healthy servicemen needing to get the COVID vaccine. . .Friess confirmed service members do have to make sure that their shots are up to date before they deploy. . .Friess said there might be some resentment from military members who were forced to get the COVID vaccine. “What are the other military members going to say? How are they going to feel about it? And, and I think it’s going to be mixed. I think you’re going to have some people say, ‘yeah, [this was the] way to go,’ and people that might be resentful,” said Friess. Friess pointed out that during government shutdowns, non-essential federal employees go home and that they don’t get paid during the shutdown, but always receive back pay. “Now they don’t get paid during that government shutdown, but they always get back pay. They get compensated because it’s no fault of their own. So, is that [giving them back pay] right? Probably not. There’s a bright line on this,” said Friess. About 8,000 troops were booted from the military for refusing COVID-19 vaccinations. The order, signed by Trump, paves the way for them to be reinstated in the military with back pay.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— What are the main things that distinguish you from your critics/opponents? Overwhelmingly, my critics/opponents had parents who had way more money than my parents had. They did not have to work their way through college like I had to. Their parents bought them cars and paid for their college expenses. Further, they benefitted from Affirmative Action (AA) and DEI or want to benefit from AA and DEI. Further, they look down on if not despise if not hate Protestants, German Americans, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America longer than their ancestors. I should write about my critics/opponents and the pretexts they used to take big adverse actions against me. – Dave Diersen

— If Trump had been elected earlier, how would that have impacted your career? Democrats run the federal government. Democrats hate Trump. Because of my demographics, if Trump had been elected before 1980, the Democrats who ran GAO back then would not have hired me in 1980, and if they had, they would not have promoted me in 1986 and they would have forced me to retire much sooner. If Trump had been elected before 1971, the Democrats who ran IRS back then would not have hired me in 1971, and if they had, they would not have promoted me in 1972, 1973, and 1975. If Trump had been elected before 1966, the Democrats who ran the Post Office back then would not have hired me in 1966, and if they had, they would have forced me to resign much sooner. However, if Trump had been elected before 1971, EEOC would not have forced Oldsmobile to stop hiring Whites and Oldsmobile would not have withdrawn the job offer that I had accepted. – Dave Diersen

AMERICAN REATNESS
— Ten Problems with DEI That Frighten the Public. DEI policies are facing scrutiny amid recent disasters, raising concerns about their impact on competence, meritocracy, and public safety.
https://amgreatness.com/2025/02/03/the-problems-with-dei-that-frighten-the-public/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The first issue is whether hiring, retention, and promotion in the airline industry or the military is not fully meritocratic. That is, were personnel hired on the basis of their exhibited superior education, practical experience, and superb scores on relevant examinations in matters relating to air travel? Or were they instead passed over because of their race, gender, or sexual orientation? Was the shortage of controllers a direct result not of an unqualified pool of applicants but rather because of racial restrictions place upon it to reduce its size? Second, were the promoters of DEI confident that they could argue that “diversity, equity, and inclusion” were as important criteria for the operation of a complex aircraft system as the past traditional criteria that had qualified air traffic controllers, pilots, and administrators? Not only did DEI considerations often supersede past traditional meritocratic requirements for employment, but DEI champions had also argued that “diversity” was either as important to, or more important than, traditional hiring and retention evaluations. The answers to these first two questions make it incumbent to ask further whether DEI played a role in the Washington, D.C., crash, similar to how it may have in the Los Angeles wildfires. It is not racist, sexist, or homophobic to ask such legitimate questions, especially because advocates themselves so often give more attention and emphasis to their race, gender, and sexual orientation than their assumed impressive expertise, proven experience, and superior education. In other words, had one’s race, sex, or orientation been incidental to employment rather than essential, such questions from the public might never have arisen. Finally, what are the problems with DEI that have not just lost its support but put fear into the public that, like the Russian commissar system of old, it has the potential to undermine the very sinews of a sophisticated, complex society? . .In sum, because of these inconsistencies, Donald Trump may well be able to end DEI with a wave of an executive order—simply because its foundations were always built of sand and thus any bold push would knock over the entire shaky edifice.)

GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE
— Trump to again freeze federal hiring. The new president will allow some exceptions, but says the freeze is necessary to root out “useless and overpaid” activists from federal rolls. (COMMENT: While I worked for the Democrats that ran GAO 1980-1997, the agency was almost always under Republican-caused hiring and promotion freezes. My Democrat GAO superiors punished me severely for that. Who does Trump want the next Comptroller General to be, that is, who does Trump want the next head of GAO to be?)
https://www.govexec.com/workforce/2025/01/trump-again-freeze-federal-hiring/402335/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Government Accountability Office raised concerns about the impact of Trump’s and previous hiring freezes, saying they were not effective and exacerbate existing workforce problems. Such freezes, GAO said, cause agencies to hire contractors and temporary staff. “If you want to reduce the workforce, you have to reduce the functions they’re doing,” GAO chief Gene Dodaro told Congress in 2017. “And you have to be able to realign the workforce.” GAO also found that agencies with exceptions, such as the Veterans Affairs Department that allowed the hiring of doctors and nurses to continue, still experienced fallout as they suffered from a lack of support staff.  When Trump ended the freeze, he tasked agencies to create plans to reshape themselves. Few of those plans were ever brought into effect as they ran headlong into congressional resistance. White House officials later refuted that the overall plans were intended to reduce federal workforce personnel. Some federal agencies have already implemented hiring restrictions due to budget caps and the short-term funding mechanism under which they are currently operating.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: They represent a family of sorts, but not a happy one. The ongoing feud among Illinois House Republicans in Springfield is of no real consequence, but it is entertaining to watch. It doesn’t matter because legislative Republicans are a superminority who have virtually nothing to say about policy in Democrat-dominated Illinois. That’s why the battle is akin to fighting over who gets to re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. Nonetheless, it does reveal the depth of the problem Republicans face as they try to restore their party to the status of a credible challenger to ruling Democrats. It’s bad enough for the GOP that Illinois has evolved — for a variety of reasons — into a solidly Democratic state. It’s even worse that Democrats have so thoroughly gerrymandered state House and Senate districts that it is virtually impossible for Republicans to compete. Throw the infra-party feuding into the mess, and success looks well-nigh impossible. The fight features traditional conservative Republicans against the handful of uber-conservatives in the Freedom Caucus. The uber-conservatives distinguish themselves by boldly flying their political colors, then going down in flames on Election Day. Credit them for having principles, but losing is not an effective strategy. They seem to have no concept of the art of compromise, building winning coalitions or even getting along with those who don’t share their views. They want it all their way, all the time, no matter that they don’t have the votes. House Republican Leader Tony McCombie, apparently tired of trying to appease them, recently drew the Freedom Caucus’ ire by diminishing five members’ committee assignments and eliminating “access to their communications staffers.” “This decision is not only a blatant attack on conservatives, but a complete affront to the hundreds of thousands of residents we represent,” the caucus members said. Capitol Fax’s Rich Miller reports that “McCombie reached out to state Rep. Chris Miller after the inauguration to try to mend fences,” but the effort was an abject failure. Hence, McCombie’s retaliation that further enraged the perpetually enraged. “During a recent exchange, the minority leader declared her unwillingness to accommodate or collaborate with this influential conservative wing and has even refused to give the Illinois Freedom Caucus a voice in the decision-making process,” the group said in a statement. McCombie’s retaliation may strike some as excessive. But politics can be — and often is — a contact sport. So the fight continues, not that it matters much.)

(FROM THE NEWSLETTER: GAME OF THRONES: State Sen. Dan McConchie’s exit from the Illinois General Assembly has kicked off a fierce political battle to take his place, with concerns about nepotism and party unity. The application process starts today, and interviews will be conducted next week behind closed doors. The vote will be public. The process: The five Republican district committee members who will select the next 26th District senator each have a “weighted” vote based on the number of ballots cast in their county during the last election. The 26th includes a large part of Lake County and some smaller areas of Cook, McHenry and Kane counties.  That means Keith Brin, the Lake County Republican chair, has more than 55 percent of the vote, so he’ll make the call on the next senator.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Democrat and RINO employers use DEI a) to not hire Republicans and b) to get rid of their Republican employees. The Democrats who ran GAO in 1980, IRS in 1971, and the Post Office in 1966 hired me because they could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. They gambled and lost that I would become a Democrat. I was qualified for the GAO job because I had a) worked for IRS for almost 9 years, b) almost completed the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul, c) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, and d) earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976. I was qualified for the IRS job because I had passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination and earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970. I was qualified for the Post Office job because I had passed the postal employment examination and earned a diploma from Crete-Monee High School in 1966. – Dave Diersen

— Virtually all federal employees are Democrats. While I worked for the Democrats who ran the federal government for almost 30 years (GAO-18, IRS-9, and Post Office-3), they ever-increasingly used Affirmative Action and DEI a) to not hire Republicans and b) to get rid of their Republican employees. They ever-increasingly lowered requirements so that they could hire, retain, and promote more Democrats who were minority, female, and/or younger. Because I am Republican, White, male, and older, that ever-increasingly rendered worthless my job-related bachelor’s degree, my three job-related master’s degrees, my six job-related professional certifications, and my job-related professional license. All my coworkers who they promoted over me were Democrats who a) had less work experience than I had, had less education than I had, had no professional certifications or fewer than I had, and/or had no professional license like the one I had and/or b) were minority, female, and/or younger. I should write about that. – Dave Diersen

— How do you deal with those who promote envy against you? Democrats promote envy against Republicans. My Democrat superiors in the federal government promoted envy against me big time. They stressed my having relative good health, my avoiding the Vietnam War draft, my buying new cars and collector cars, my earning a bachelor’s degree, my going on vacations, my buying real estate, my earning three master’s degrees, my getting married, my earning six professional certifications, my earning a professional license, my etc. My Democrat superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates painted themselves as being financially distressed. The blamed their financial problems on their military service, on their spouse’s limitations, on their child raising responsibilities, on etc. They blamed their problems on discrimination against those who shared their demographics: liberal/moderate, Democrat, minority, female, younger, veteran, non-Protestant, non-German American, and/or having ancestors who have not been in America for a long time. In my defense, I stressed that I had to work my way through college. – Dave Diersen

— Federal Workers Ponder an Existential Question: Do I Pack Up and Quit? Two million employees are trying to make sense of a Trump administration plan offering eight months’ pay to staffers who resign. (COMMENT: One of my biggest decisions that I made in my life was to succumb to my Democrat GAO superiors’ threats and take their early retirement “offer” when I was 49 years old in 1997. In retrospect, with benefit of hindsight, it was a big mistake. I should write about that. Retiring early has cut and will forever cut my Civil Service Retirement System pension tremendously. Further, if I had stayed until I was eligible for regular retirement in 2003, I would not have become a) a Republican Precinct Committeeman in 1999, b) the GOPUSA Illinois Editor in 2000, c) the Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO) webmaster in 2000, or d) an Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) officer in 2003. The aforesaid led to my becoming a) a candidate for MTRO Treasurer in 2004, b) the Republican fundraiser for Wheaton Independence Day parades and fireworks in 20005. and c) the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman in 2005. Since 2000, MTRO, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, ICRC, and TAPROOT leaders have blamed me for all the losses that Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct have suffered.)
