(FROM THE ARTICLE: In a statement to The Southern on Thursday, Union County Democratic Party Chair Teresa Vincent said that the county’s legal counsel has since provided her the necessary documentation establishing Klingemann’s affiliation to the Democratic Party. Klingemann, a private attorney in Marion who previously worked as an assistant state’s attorney with Edmonds, had not voted in primary elections, and was not active in party politics. The board confirmed his appointment by a 3-2 vote along party lines, with Republicans voting in favor of his confirmation and Democrats against.
