Enyia did not report to the IRS $21,000 paid to her by Chris Kennedy’s governor campaign, where she worked as a consultant for several months. Contacted by the Tribune, Enyia acknowledged the error, but offered different responses to explain it. At first, she blamed the Kennedy campaign for not providing her a tax form in a timely fashion. Later, Enyia said she forgot to give the form to her accountant. “That was an oversight. That’s just basically it,” she told the Tribune. Enyia, 35, has seen her political star rise during the mayoral campaign as she pairs support from celebrity rappers and a savvy social media strategy with credentials that include a law degree and doctorate in education. But as she cuts an increasingly high profile among the large field of candidates, a closer look at her history reveals Enyia struggling with her own personal finances. Enyia, who is asking voters to elect her to run a city with an $8.9 billion budget, has been sued over rent and student loans, faced a lien for unpaid federal taxes and been fined tens of thousands of dollars for failing to file quarterly campaign finance reports. Asked what her financial troubles say about her readiness to be mayor, Enyia said they are a result of her decision to work in public service. “There are many things I could have done that would be more lucrative because I do have a vast amount of credentials and experience. I could make a lot of money if I wanted to. But I’ve made the decision to work in spaces that are not lucrative,” she said. “To me, drawing a line between, if you can’t manage your personal finances, you can’t manage the city’s finances, is a very faulty line.” Enyia’s most significant government job, as village manager of south suburban University Park in 2017, quickly ended amid disagreements over her salary demands and concerns about whether she was spending enough time at Village Hall.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: American women have averaged fewer and fewer babies every year this decade, and the latest numbers show the biggest drop yet. The total fertility rate in 2017 fell to 1.7655 babies per woman of childbearing age. The replacement level is 2.1. The number of babies born has been falling every year since 2007. Without immigration, America would be dying off. What’s the cause? Health writers at NBC News explained the drop and regional variations by pointing to “women with more education,” “the growth of sex education in the schools,” and “the passage of the Affordable Care Act,” which by expanding Medicaid “would have impacted access to family planning services.” In other words, NBC News sees the birth dearth as a story of progress and policy. In truth, however, it is a story of culture and decline. Women are having fewer babies largely because America is abandoning the institution of marriage, from which babies typically arise. Only half of all adults are married, down from 72 percent in 1960. Some of that is because college-educated people tend to delay marriage until they are older. But most of the slump is because working-class people either do not stay married or else don’t marry at all. Only half of working-class, 40-year-old women are married, compared to 85 percent in 1960. This isn’t making parenthood disappear. There are an increasing number of babies born to unmarried, working-class women. So much for the efficacy of “sex education in the schools.” Unmarried women without a college degree are disproportionately likely to have only one child. So the problem — it certainly is a problem, even though NBC News won’t tell you so — is that the culture which nurtures children is falling apart. Community strength is collapsing among the working class, as Charles Murray documented in his book, Coming Apart. If communities are not strong, getting married and having a family are less desirable and less achievable. It takes a village, after all, to raise a child. Utah, which is famously communal in its culture, is one of only two states where the birth rate is above replacement rate. Throw in falling wages for working-class men, interminable education among elites, and you get a country with less marriage, less sex, fewer families, and fewer babies. Hardly progress.)

Jeanne Ives of Wheaton says Erica Bray-Parker does not deserve to represent that city. “Erica Bray-Parker should not be elected; make sure she isn’t,” Ives told the DuPage Policy Journal of the Glenbard North teacher and Civics Club instructor now running for Wheaton City Council in District 4. “She is unfit to represent business owners and the respectful, hard-working taxpayers of Wheaton. She is a civics teacher who is not civil.” Indeed, Bray-Parker’s campaign has recently been dogged by controversy, with local business owner Jane Shaw telling the DuPage Policy Journal of rumors she heard about Bray-Parker bullying local business owners into taking down the signs of candidates she doesn’t support. The veteran educator is also accused of having manipulated her students into aiding her and her campaign. Ives argues Bray-Parker is all about special interests, warning voters that if she is elected they face additional taxes, being told what to do with their property and some form of censorship. “Churches beware too, as she has opinions, apparently, about which views of Christianity are best,” Ives added. “When your church wants to expand, would she allow a zoning change or block it with her vote?” Finally, Ives charges Bray-Parker is more than willing to run roughshod over “our Constitutional and God-given natural rights,” adding she thinks Bray-Parker has not shown herself to be inclusive in the least. “Fortunately, the business owner at Wheaton Bowl (one of the owners Bray-Parker is accused of trying to strong-arm) refused to be bullied by her,” she added. “Other businesses, I am told, cowered to her demands—which is why everyone should frequent Wheaton Bowl and tell them you appreciate their common sense and decency.” Ives urged voters to take to the polls in April to reject what she called Bray-Parker’s brand of politics. “There are two seats up for Wheaton City Council at-large,” she said. “Running against ((Bray-)Parker are Suzanne Fitch and Ron Almiron. Or it can show up in more overt behaviors — a forgotten meeting invite, a blatant preference for a younger colleague or even hiring discrimination. But new research shows that age bias doesn’t affect men and women equally. In fact, older men face harsher penalties than older women. Battling stereotypes By 2022, 25 percent of the American workforce is estimated to be comprised of workers age 55 and older, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. But claims of age-based discrimination are already on the rise, says Michael North, assistant professor of management and organizations at New York University. Comparing the number of age discrimination complaints filed to the EEOC in 1999 to the number of claims now shows that the problem isn’t going away. This tension in modern workplaces, Mr. North says, often involves younger employees viewing older employees as overly aggressive, or selfishly refusing to step down from the C-suite and leadership roles. The stereotypical version of this kind of older worker — who continues to work past retirement age, sowing discord among younger employees who covet the senior position — is usually male. Part of that stereotype stems from a dearth of older women in senior roles. “One thing we’re really seeing is a lot of dominant older men people think aren’t willing to step aside, and you see resource constraints with millennials trying to get jobs, and we’re thinking of male CEOs refusing to relinquish power — so I think the exemplars are men,” says Ashley Martin, an assistant professor of organizational behavior at Stanford Graduate School of Business. “So when people harbor this age bias, they’re thinking ‘These men need to get out of the way.’ And women are forgotten — which allows them to escape.”)

Anyone who would declare that our nation was built on the foundations of Western European civilization is now considered a racist. That alone confirms there is a deep schism/high wall already established within our nation. On one side are those who desire to defend the culture, religion and traditions that created the greatest form of self-governance (even with all its flaws) mankind has ever devised. On the other side are those who fervently dig at its very foundation, guided by their “diverse” cultures (or worse, the failed ideology of Lenin, Stalin, Mao or Che). One can only ask: When and where will there be a defining flash point? Certainly the verbiage of many elected Democratic members of Congress loudly proclaim in “political correct” terms that they are pushing for one — in their active support of illegal aliens flooding across open borders, or in their attacks on the 2nd Amendment.)
