In 1926, they sold all but a quarter acer of the rest of that 10 acres and had a brick home (1286 Wood Street) built on quarter acre. I lived in that home 1954-1972. My brother and I inherited that home when our mother died in 2016. I inherited that home last year when my brother died and I sold it for $99,900 last year. The home’s value declined in relative terms after my father died suddenly in 1969 and as Democrats moved into Crete. My mother inherited $4,000 when her parents died during the 1970s. My critics/opponents have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that my parents and all of my ancestors were filthy rich and that explains all of the successes that I have had in life. I should write a book about my critics/opponents. I would focus on their parents’ wealth.)
