We both became licensed CPAs. While Grogan and I both passed the CPA examination on our first attempt, Grogan got much better scores on its four parts than I did. While we both became Certified Fraud Examiners, Grogan became one by passing the examination while I grandfathered in in 1990. While White is eligible to take the CPA examination, I passed it in 1979. While White is taking graduate courses, I earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976, a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, and a master’s degree in finance from IIT in 1997. In addition, I became a Certified Internal Auditor in 1981, Government Financial Manager in 1994, Financial Services Auditor in 1996, and Forensic Accountant in 1997. GAO audits federal agencies. While White lacks auditing experience, I worked for GAO for almost 18 years, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 Levels, currently $115,439-$150,075/year, and before that, for IRS for almost 9 years at the GS-12 Step-1-5 Levels, currently $97,079-$110,020/year. While White is an attorney, law was one of the four parts of the CPA examination when I passed it and much of what I did for IRS involved legal matters.)
