— Return of military conscription. DD: My avoiding the Vietnam War draft with four student deferments 1966-1970 and a financial hardship draft deferment 1970-1971 was my biggest mistake. My Democrat superiors and supervisors in the federal government who were veterans blamed Republicans for America losing the Vietnam War and they especially blamed 1-A Republicans like me. The push reflects growing anxiety about a recent change in how the U.S. Postal Service applies postmarks — now stamping the date when mail is processed at a sorting facility rather than when it’s dropped in a mailbox. Officials worry ballots mailed close to Election Day get postmarked after the deadline and therefore won’t be counted even if mailed on time. They ever-increasingly hint/imply/argue/shout that to punish Trump, you should punish your Republican Precinct Committeeman (RPC). Should RPCs wear body cameras when they go door-to-door distributing Republican election materials in their precincts? Because of an encounter I had recently with a registered Democrat voter (RDV) in my precinct, I am changing what I do. What have RDVs shouted at you lately? I am happy to report that only one RDV in my precinct shouted threats at me while I hand-delivered envelopes recently to the 400 residences in my precinct that have at least one registered Republican voter (RRV) or one registered NA voter (RNAV) without knocking on any doors. But he is an aggressive, nasty, wealthy, and prominent realtor with a common name in a $1.1 million home. He shouted at me in a very threatening tone that he had thrown my envelope in his trash, that I should not deliver anything there anymore, that he knew who I was, that he knew where I lived, and that if I ever delivered anything there again, he would come to my home and dump it on my driveway. While I did not realize who he was until after the incident, he had known who I was for many years. He had been a RDV in my precinct very near my home years ago. I now know that after he sold that home, he bought the aforesaid home. I delivered to his home only because there was a RNAV in his home. To avoid future threats from RDVs like him, I will identify those homes in my precinct that have RNAVs but not deliver to those homes that also have RDVs but no RRVs, something I did not take the time to do this time. There are limits on the time that I can spend. I spend 10+ hours a day 7 days a week putting GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters together and sending them out. I spent many hours putting 800 mailing labels and 400 return address labels on 400 envelopes, putting them into walk order, stuffing them with an unmarked sample ballot, a Milton Township Republican Organization Voter Guide, and five candidate campaign literature pieces, dividing them into 5 batches, and hand-delivering them. I used 400 DuPage County Republican Central Committee envelopes and I used my photocopier, paper, and ink to copy the unmarked sample ballot 400 times 2-sided back-to-back. If I spent 6 minutes getting each envelope ready, that would be 40 hours. I spent about 15 hours hand-delivering the envelopes, or about 3 hours per batch. Should I write about an extremely powerful RRV in my precinct who also told me that she threw my precinct letter in her trash?

I should have majored in accounting from the beginning, but I did not until I was 27 in 1976 when I started taking graduate evening accounting courses at DePaul. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30. I earned a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul when I was 31. I passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32. I became a licensed CPA when I was 32. But by then, the accounting profession had no interest in me a) because it viewed me as being too old and b) because my demographics were terrible. The profession was under tremendous pressure to advance minorities and females. Why didn’t I major in accounting from the beginning? I erroneously believed that because I was not strong in math, I could never pass the CPA examination. But I belatedly came to realize that accountants do not use the types of math that I was not strong in.
