NAPERVILLE COMMUNITY TELEVISION
— Council Moves to Make Naperville a “Welcoming City”  (DIERSEN: As everyone knows, “Welcoming City” is code for “Sanctuary City,” that is, it is code for a city that says individuals, organizations, and companies that are members of the following groups are NOT WELCOME: Trump supporters, Protestants, conservatives, Republicans, Americans, Whites, males, older people, rich people, gun owners, German Americans, draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)
http://www.nctv17.com/council-moves-to-make-naperville-a-welcoming-city/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: At the most recent City Council meeting, Councilwoman Becky Anderson directed staff to write up a resolution declaring that Naperville is welcoming to everyone regardless of religion, race or sexual orientation. This after residents spoke during public forum at recent meetings, requesting that the council take some official action to help all feel welcomed in our town. “We make sure that everyone is accepted within our city boundaries who are residents and who are visitors. I think there are a lot of people with the rhetoric that’s going around right now in the country, there are a lot of people of the Muslim faith who are frightened,” said Councilwoman Anderson. The proposed resolution, which was backed by many council members, would not be considered a legally binding ordinance, but more of a statement that says the city serves everyone equally.)

Caterpiller may very will be forced to get rid of all its non-Democrat employees and especially its non-Democrat employees who are Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time. CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS
— What Trump’s immigration policies could cost Chicago – Christina Le Beau  (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, anti-Trumps a) glorify and praise citizens of foreign countries and b) demonize, denigrate, and condemn citizens of America. That is a big reason why Trump won and why Clinton lost. How soon, if not already, will anti-Trump individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries post signs that say members of the following groups are NOT WANTED: Trump supporter, Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for long time?)
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20170307/NEWS02/170309909
(FROM THE ARTICLE: But immigration analysts say the economic benefits of curbing immigration are overblown. Economists, in general, have found immigration adds more to the economy than it takes away. That means that in cities like Chicago, where population declines and workforce shortages are offset by immigrants, policies advocated by the new administration not only aren’t likely to help—they could actually hurt.)

MADISON RECORD
— Are reporters informing the public well enough amidst state’s financial crisis? – Amanda Robert (DIERSEN: Diersen has been sending GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails out since 2000, every morning since 2004, and also every evening since 2015. Virtually every one of those emails has included a link to at least one article about the “state’s financial crisis.”  But sadly, my critics/opponents in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois have lots of religious, government, political, and/or financial clout, and they have made it very clear that they will have their operatives and their dupes viciously destroy anyone who reads the emails or encourages others to read the emails. Ives and I are both members of the Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC), but sadly, few MTRCC members read GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails, and many of them read the emails only to get information to harm me.)
http://madisonrecord.com/stories/511087491-are-reporters-informing-the-public-well-enough-amidst-state-s-financial-crisis
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Ives says that when she tries to inform the public through town hall meetings, less than a dozen people show up. “I have three town halls scheduled this month and if I am lucky, maybe 100 people will show up even after having sent media alerts out, posting on Facebook and e-mail, and sending out district-wide robo calls,” she said. Ives explains that most people are too busy, or have given in to the idea that “nothing will change” or “all politicians are corrupt.” “I find most people have little understanding of the issues that created our budget crisis, the possible solutions and their implications, and the truth that Illinois is way outside the norm in terms of financial stability compared to other states,” Ives said. “To steal from an old saying, you can offer the information, but people can still refuse to take it in.” In a state like Illinois, with its history of complicated financial struggles and political battles, what is the responsibility of media that is supposed to serve as watchdog? Are reporters telling all of the stories that need to be told, monitoring the conduct of government officials and alerting citizens when they have acted irresponsibly or improperly? Diana Rickert, vice president of communications at the Illinois Policy Institute, who previously worked as a journalist, contends that most citizens are aware of the culture of corruption and political machines. They realize that they pay immense property taxes and face massive public pension debt, now up to $130 billion in their state. She says the media should not be complicit in the financial crisis or give public officials a free pass, particularly as Illinois saw record outmigration in the past year and lost more than 1 million people in the past decade. “The very best journalists are skeptical of government and question everything they say, and journalists owe it to their readers to do this,” Rickert said. “Journalists should not be a publicity arm for local, state or federal government, or trade tough stories for access.” Stephanie Craft, an associate professor of journalism at the University of Illinois, points out that the financial situation in Illinois serves as an example of polarization that is occurring across the country. She says the media has the responsibility of identifying things the public should know, and then getting public officials, business leaders or others in power to talk about them. She says that role becomes more crucial when “you have two sides that are dug in,” like Illinois party leaders over the state’s budget. “If they aren’t talking to each other, it makes it tricky for journalists, but also more of a priority for them to step in and try to get information from those sides that might be harder to get otherwise,” Craft said. “I feel like, as a citizen of Illinois, not only are the two sides not talking to each other, but they’re not talking to anyone. “If there weren’t journalists pressing for answers, there would just be a whole lot of silence.” Craft adds that citizens, as well as public officials, share in that responsibility. Citizens need to seek out a variety of sources of information and demand a certain level of performance from the media and public officials, she says, while public officials need to consider the importance of the media and not see its work as something negative. She contends that the current level of trust in several different institutions, especially the media, is low. She says that puts reporters in a difficult position, because while they are trying to obtain information and present it in an understandable way, they are also fighting criticism about how they do their jobs. Craft also says that when facing a public that may not trust them, reporters should consider being more explicit about their sources and methods. For example, she says, they should mention the people they tried to interview, even if they didn’t talk to them, and the parts of the story they don’t know, but are still trying to figure out. “I think more of that might help, as a byproduct, educate people about the journalism news gathering process and help them understand better the news that they’re reading,” Craft said. Craft adds that even in the current environment, where more people can quickly participate in creating and sharing the news through cell phone photos and video, and social media, reporters should appreciate that they are the only group committing a significant amount of time and resources to uncovering and disseminating information. “There is a role that an institutional kind of press can play in being that entity that can try to hold those in power to account in a way that is harder, not impossible, but harder for a general mass of online people to do,” she said.)

http://www.conservativehq.com/node/25232
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It is no secret that the Wall Street – Washington – Silicon Valley Axis hates Donald Trump and the millions of “deplorable” Americans who elected him to stop the globalist destruction of our country and to end the PC culture that liberals use to enforce their worldview on the rest of America. We have long shared the view of then-Senator Jeff Sessions that “prominent amnesty advocates, including [Facebook CEO] Mark Zuckerberg and top Obama administration officials, have argued that amnesty is a civil right. Mr. Zuckerberg’s motivation is not elusive. He heads a lobbying group representing many of his industry’s wealthiest CEOs, and their companies wish to extract generous guest-worker programs from Congress. Similar efforts are underway from other CEOs seeking new workers for everything from manufacturing to construction to restaurant jobs. Presumably, Mr. Zuckerberg believes it is more advantageous to frame the group’s lobbying as a civil-rights crusade than as a corporate crusade for lower-cost foreign labor.” So, it should surprise no one that California’s Far Left tech oligarchs have begun to surreptitiously use their control of social media platforms and media to undermine support for President Trump and his agenda by blocking pro-Trump content to starve conservative online media outlets of viewers and advertising dollars. Our problems with Facebook censorship began when we made attacking globalism a major editorial effort in the final crucial weeks before the election and we suddenly discovered that our pro-Trump or anti-Hillary Clinton articles posted to Facebook were being taken down or the links were being disabled. The message “Warning: This Message Contains Blocked Content. Your message couldn’t be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive” would pop up when CHQ readers tried to post or distribute CHQ content through Facebook. Inquiries to Facebook produced the excuse that “community objections” were to blame and after a lag of hours or days the links would be restored. In responses that sounded like they were written by Lois Lerner, we were assured that the problem had nothing to do with ConservativeHQ’s name or the conservative content of our articles, but the problem continued to grow. After much back-and-forth, the next excuse offered was that ConservativeHQ’s landing page had too many ads and redirects, and that we should “Avoid ad creative that baits people to click on it, such as overly cropped ad images or ad copy that may be shocking or sexual.”  This was patent nonsense.)

They used that information to paint us as being filthy rich DINKs (dual income, no kids). My Democrat superiors were moral relativists who believed that their end justifies their means.  They used their knowledge of our wealth a) to justify their wasting my career and b) to justify their forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old.)
http://www.fedsmith.com/2017/03/06/what-does-it-take-to-be-a-tsp-millionaire/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Thanks to the slow but steady march of inflation year after year, a million dollars isn’t what it used to be. Still, it’s a target that few people achieve in their lifetimes, and it can go a long way to a comfortable retirement. FedSmith regularly keeps track of the number of TSP millionaires, federal employees that have accumulated more than $1 million in their TSP account. The number fluctuates each year, having grown from about 200 in early 2012 to well past 3,000 today, thanks to the eight-year bull market we’ve all enjoyed. But what does it take to get to that level? For starters, here’s a chart that shows how much wealth you can build based on your monthly saving amount (vertical axis) and annualized rate of return (horizontal axis) in 25 years: . . . The chart is inflation-adjusted to 2.5% per year. Values over $1 million are highlighted in green. This chart applies broadly to a variety of investment types, but when looking specifically at the TSP, there are two main constraints: Assuming a buy-and-hold strategy, TSP rates of return are limited, roughly, by the maximum rate of return of the C fund, S fund, and I fund, the three equity funds available for investment. This caps TSP long-term returns at around 10% per year or less, based on historical performance of the best of these indices. This will be lower for a more balanced portfolio that includes some fixed-income investments with the G fund or F fund. You can only contribute up to $18,000 per year, with another 5% from agency-matching. If you earn $120,000 per year, for example, the maximum you can save per year in your TSP is $24,000, or $2,000 per month on that chart. Depending on how the markets perform over the next two and a half decades, it may be possible for federal employees that max out their TSP contributions each and every year to hit a million in inflation-adjusted value (or about $1.8 million in face value) during that timeline. For most federal investors, however, it will take longer than that. John Bogle, the founder of Vanguard, currently expects about 4% annual returns over the next 10 years from the US stock market, due to the high valuations of the market currently. A report in 2016 by McKinsey & Company estimates 4-6.5% annual returns for US markets over the next 20 years. Nobody can know for sure what returns will be going forward, but due to how highly valued the markets are currently (based on metrics like the Shiller PE ratio), the chance of reaching or exceeding the historical 9-10% rate of return is arguably not very likely going forward. Here are three examples for how a TSP account may grow over a federal career:)

Very few of my IRS superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates a) had recently passed the CPA examination on their first attempt like I had done, b) had recently earned an MBA like I had done, or c) had almost earned a master’s degree in accounting like I was in the process of doing. )

— Working Longer May Benefit Your Health – CHRISTOPHER FARRELL (DIERSEN: For my Democrat superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates in the federal government, destroying their superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates who were Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran was always their top priority.  In September of 1997, they made it very clear that if I did not take their early retirement “offer” by the end of the month, they would viciously kill me figuratively if not literally.  All my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes paint themselves as being physiological terrorists.  Should I write a book about them?)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/03/business/retirement/working-longer-may-benefit-your-health.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Are there health benefits to staying in the work force longer?  The scientific research is inconclusive, though it tends to tilt toward “yes.” This is particularly pronounced among people who find work fulfilling in the first place, who tend to be office workers, teachers and others whose workplace is not, say, a factory or a construction site. More so than people in most previous generations, baby boomers are continuing to work past their early 60s, often well beyond. Sometimes, this means delaying retirement from a longtime job, but it can instead involve some kind of bridge job, part-time employment or self-employment. It turns out that, these days, older Americans who retire — in the sense of completely withdrawing from the paid labor force — are increasingly in the minority. “What is the benefit of work? Activation of the brain and activation of social networks may be critical,” Nicole Maestas, an associate professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School, said in an interview.)

http://www.wandtv.com/story/34666615/springfield-participates-in-nationwide-march-4-trump-rally
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Springfield- Dozens gathered on the steps of the Illinois State Capitol to show their support for President Donald Trump. “It’s time that America realizes that Trump is our president.” said Mel Cordani, a supporter. “I love him, and he is going to change America, and make it great again. I know that he has done so much already and I just wanted to be here to show him how much we love him.” said Doug Dukeman, another supporter. The crowd was filled with many local supporters, and three Illinois politicians came to show their support for President Trump. Senator Kyle McCarter (R)-Vandalia, Representative Reggie Phillips (R)-Charleston, and Representative Brad Halbrook (R)-Shelbyville, gave speeches to the crowd. “There is only 3 of us here, and it’s because it is important for us to know what we know is right. To support our president to let him know that Illinois is supporting our president, and they we need change in the state of Illinois.” said Rep. Reggie Phillips (R)-Charleston. Some of the attendees, like Shane Bouvet, know President Trump personally.. “He’s such a beautiful guy, and that’s what you see here in the crowd is beautiful. Who are patriotic, coming to support out president and show love for our country.” he said. “Donald  Trump is a president who loves all people. You see everyone who came out to support him and people who don’t support him, you know Donald Trump loves everyone. He cares about our country.” Many of Trump’s supporters spoke of his accomplishments since taking office in January. “He’s doing what he said he was going to do, and we want to be supportive of that effort for the first time, we actually have a president that is doing what he said he would do.” said Rep. Brad Halbrook, (R)-Shelbyville. “Mr. Trump has done more already in he short time than what others have done in eight years.” added Dukeman. For many of the supporters, they hope that President Trump will be able to help to fix the trouble that Illinois is in. “We need people to have respect and want to work again in Illinois and that is a federal issue, and I think Trump is going to start answering.” Said Rep. Phillips. This was just one of many March 4 Trump rallies happening nationwide.)

My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes stress that my ancestors have been in America since 1844.)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/04/opinion/sunday/a-different-bargain-on-race.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: So, this week’s immodest proposal: Abolish racial preferences in college admissions, phase out preferences in government hiring and contracting, eliminate the disparate-impact standard in the private sector, and allow state-sanctioned discrimination only on the basis of socioeconomic status, if at all. Then at the same time, create a reparations program — the Frederick Douglass Fund, let’s call it — that pays out exclusively, directly and one time only to the proven descendants of American slaves. What would it pay out? Reparations advocates talk in trillions, which would take this already-unrealistic proposal into the realm of the utopian. But right now, giving every single African-American $10,000, perhaps in a specially-designed annuity, would cost about $370 billion, modest relative to supply-side tax plans and single-payer schemes alike. The wealth of the median black household in the United States was $11,200 as of 2013; a $10,000 per-person annuity would more than double it. In so doing it would hardly eliminate racial disadvantage, but then again neither has 50 years of affirmative action. What it would offer is a meaningful response to an extraordinary injustice, but a response that does not involve permanent discrimination. There is no clear or easy path to becoming a multiracial nation that isn’t divided politically by race. But reparations for the descendants of slaves today, rather than affirmative action for nonwhites forever, might be a better path than the one we’re on right now.)

During the 1840s and 1850s, all of my ancestors immigrated from what is now Germany to northeast Illinois and they have stayed there ever since. — Batavia candidates discuss sanctuary city status – Susan Sarkauskas  (DIERSEN: To promote sanctuary cities is to promote treason.)
http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170303/news/170309625/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Asked if Batavia should become a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants, Stoops said “yes.”  “We should not only be focusing on our residents, but we should be looking out for one another. Who are we to start rounding them up from a government initiative that some of our residents may not agree with?” he said. Schielke did not answer the question directly, speaking instead about how Batavia’s immigrant history and how it adopted a fair housing ordinance decades ago and is an integrated community. Dinwiddie said the city should not become a sanctuary city because it would put a burden on police, and Salvati said he didn’t know if he would “put the onus” on police to “be out there looking proactively.”)

Anti-Trumps are disciples of Saul Alinsky.  Anti-Trumps are anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America longer than their ancestors.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “We’re going to confront and defeat the Trump movement,” protect organizer Benjamin Lynch said. On Friday, Lynch said his group’s motto is “By any means necessary” or BAMN. They plan to gather two hours before the pro-Trump group so the marchers will see the already gathered crowd and move on before they even get started. “We hope they’re demoralized,” Lynch said. “We hope they drive on by. We hope they decide to hold their rally somewhere else.” Lynch says he doesn’t promote violence or vandalism, but noted that hate speech could incite some of the protestors. “We’re not going to let a fringe group of bigots come in and target our immigrant and local communities,” he said.)

http://www.positivelynaperville.com/2017/03/04/naperville-mayor-will-present-state-city-address-march-20/70236
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The 2017 State of the City Address hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) will be held on Monday, March 20, at Embassy Suites Chicago-Naperville, 1823 Abriter Court in Naperville.  This luncheon event is presented by BMO Harris Bank N.A. The address serves as an inspiring recap of the year’s events.  The discussion will highlight the monumental progression of the area’s growth including new and existing businesses.  Additionally, the address will turn an eye toward the future, as highlighting a number of programs and initiatives scheduled for the coming year. The NACC has hosted the State of the City Address for the past 33 years for the Naperville community starting with Mayor Peg Price. “The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in success and retention of businesses in our region,” said Nicki Anderson, NACC President/CEO.  “Our partnership with the City and Naperville Development Partnership are crucial to the strength and viability of a successful business climate.” The Mayor also uses the program as a time to not only to recognize Naperville’s accomplishments, but also the people who made it possible.  The State of the City Address honors city officials and their years of service to the community. “The State of the City address is an important venue to showcase the City’s commitment to economic growth, efficient government and serving our community well,” Mayor Steve Chirico stated in the news release.  “This year’s address will celebrate our shared accomplishments, provide a roadmap for the year to come and inspire our businesses to continue making Naperville the premier location to live, work and play in the region.”)

— REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS SAY THEY’RE SKIPPING TOWN HALLS FOR ‘SAFETY REASONS’ – Stacey Baca
http://abc7chicago.com/politics/gop-lawmakers-say-theyre-skipping-town-halls-for-safety-reasons/1783734/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Some Republican congressmen are facing angry voters in their districts, concerned with the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and other issues with the new president’s agenda. They say security concerns are why they’re canceling town halls. Congressman Randy Hultgren announced Friday afternoon that one of his staff members quit this week because she was worried about her safety at the office. The police chief in Campton Hills confirmed they have handled a few minor calls. There has been no violence at any of the town hall meetings held across the country, but the congressman says safety is the reason he won’t hold town hall meetings. Republicans have faced protests at home, including Hultgren. He has decided for now to meet with constituents only in small groups, not town halls. “They get frustrated having individual time with me, or a small group meeting with me. They want to have something that is more theatrical. I just don’t know if that is beneficial right now,” he said. Hultgren represents part of McHenry, Kane and Kendall counties. “We just want to make sure that everybody is safe, that we have this respect in the process that we can listen from each other, learn from each other, disagree at times but with a level of respect,” he said. Although Hultgren used former congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ shooting as an example, Giffords recently released her own response, saying politicians must face their constituents and hold town hall meetings. Congressman Peter Roskam, who represents the far northwest and western suburbs, has also had protests in his districts. Instead of town halls, he’s using phone meetings. “Rather than having a meeting with 200 people that are essentially shouting at one another, I thought it was more helpful to meet with 18,000 people on the phone to have a wider range of opinion and much more feedback,” he said. The protests, for some, harken back to the early days of the Tea Party. Senator Dick Durbin, who met with Tea Partiers at the time, sold an old boxing quote to put it in perspective. “They used to say something about Joe Lewis, the great heavyweight champion, they used to say something about his opponents: they can run but they can’t hide. The same is true about members of Congress. You can avoid your constituents for some period of time, but ultimately they get the last word in the election,” Durbin said. Voters have criticized Republican lawmakers for shirking their duty to their constituents and continue to push for town hall meetings. Experts said things will only get worse for lawmakers because soon they will start voting on laws, and voters will follow how their representatives are voting.)
— CHARLES THOMAS RETIRES: CELEBRATING MORE THAN 25 YEARS AT ABC7  (DIERSEN: I wish that I could celebrate my almost 18 years at GAO, but my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  I wish that I could celebrate my almost 9 years at IRS, but my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims.  I wish that I could celebrate my almost 3 years at the Post Office, but my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests.)

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-age-bias-edit-plummer-terkel-scully-0304-jm-20170303-story.html
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Yes, this is often said to be the Age of the Millennial. And virtually every discussion of generations quickly references baby boomers. But assigning stereotypes to different age groups isn’t just annoying. It’s often misleading. Case in point: America’s concept of retirement has changed. Many people are working well into their 70s and 80s. Insert here your own story about the 83-year-old co-worker who never got sick and was always the first to arrive each day. And workers with that depth of life and work experience bring to the table a wealth of institutional and subject knowledge about their fields. That’s a wellspring that millennials can tap into, and employers should covet. Too often, they don’t. Ageism — that is, discrimination based on someone’s age — is rampant in today’s workplace. According to a study by AARP in 2013, 3 of every 5 older workers reported having seen or experienced age discrimination at work. Age discrimination complaints brought to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission have jumped 26 percent over the last decade, from 16,548 in 2006 to 20,857 last year. Madigan is right to take up this issue, and we hope the job search firms that have been warned make the right fixes. A spokeswoman for CareerBuilder told the Tribune’s Alexia Elejalde-Ruiz that the company “is committed to helping workers of all ages find job opportunities, and is fixing this unfortunate oversight.” That’s good to hear. After all, what difference does it make if someone’s 23, 43, 63 or 83 — as long as he or she can get the job done well. Mark Twain put it best: “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”)

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/03/welcome_to_the_real_world_federal_bureaucrats.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A specter haunts Washington, D.C.: federal workers, accustomed to job security, may actually be reduced in status to the level of private-sector peasants, who must live with the possibility of being laid off due to workforce reductions.  The Washington Post, in many ways the trade paper of the government industry, shares the anxiety of its readership: “Federal workers are growing increasingly anxious at the prospect of massive budget cuts President Trump proposed this week that would pave the way for increased military spending. Employees who list endangered species, collect taxes and distribute aid to foreign countries are fearing for their livelihoods as they sift through rumors and wait to see whether their offices will be targeted for steep reductions.”  Those of us who work in the private sector have never had the job security of a federal employee.  And few of us have the retirement benefits they enjoy, so we have the constant issue of providing for ourselves beyond our working years.  Frankly, it is a lot of stress, and I find that in my case, at least, it provides quite a lot of motivation for hard work.  After all, I have no rich Uncle Sam to rely on to keep money coming in to pay for the groceries, much less fund an extended vacation called “retirement.” Ordinarily, in the rare case of a government agency reducing its workforce, attrition is relied upon.  Deaths and retirements (and hardly ever firing for cause) automatically reduce the number of working bodies in a large organization.  If you don’t bring in replacements, the workforce declines in number.)

The following boycott me and my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails: those who a) reject planks in the Republican Party platform and work against those like me who support those planks, b) reject planks in the Illinois Republican Party platform and work against those like me who support those planks, c) reject the Milton Township Republican Central Committee resolution against video gambling and work against those like me who support that resolution, d) focus on destroying those like me who they cannot manipulate/dominate, e) were defendants in lawsuits that I have filed, f) are operatives for the aforesaid, and/or g) are dupes for the aforesaid and/or are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America longer than their ancestors.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE:  In the wake of President Trump’s tweet calling the media “the enemy of the American people” and White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s exclusion of major media outlets from a briefing, some have called for the media to consider some kind of boycott of the White House. On Wednesday afternoon, Post Opinions digital editor James Downie moderated an email discussion on this topic between Post Opinions media blogger Erik Wemple and New York University journalism professor Jay Rosen. The exchange is reprinted below and has been edited for style and clarity.)

FED SMITH
— Congress Considering Change in Calculating retiree COLAs – Michael Wald  (DIERSEN: The purchasing power of my $50,856 Civil Service Retirement System pension and my $2,028 Social Security decreases dramatically each year as inflation is far greater than COLAs.)
http://www.fedsmith.com/2017/03/01/congress-considering-change-in-calculating-retiree-benefit-increases/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Congressman John Garamendi (D-Modesto, CA) has introduced the CPI-E Act of 2017 (H.R. 1251). The bill would require the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) methodology to use CPI-E as opposed to the currently used CPI-W when calculating changes in retiree benefits for both Social Security recipients and annuities provided under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). “The fact that we do not do this already is shocking. Instead, cost-of-living adjustments, or COLAs, for seniors collecting Social Security and those retired from the military or federal service, are based on the costs experienced by, quote: urban wage earners and clerical workers. They are not based on the costs that they – as elderly individuals – experience. And that doesn’t make a lot of sense,” stated Richard Thissen, president of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). Retirees began receiving automatic annual COLAs in 1975. When Congress first approved automatic cost-of-living adjustments as part of the 1972 Social Security Amendments, the only Consumer Price Index available was the index now designated as CPI-W. Before that, benefits were increased only when Congress enacted special legislation.)

http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/28/heres-what-wrong-with-the-claim-that-female-reporters-make-26-less-than-male-counterparts/
(FROM THEARTICLE: The study’s claim ignores much of its own data.  Its data clearly suggests the salary gap is because female journalists are, on average, six years younger than their male colleagues, and have 5.3 less years of work experience. They are also less likely to work full time and hold management positions. . .The study did find the average after-tax income of a male journalist in the country is $55,552, while the average female journalist earns $44,104. — Wheaton residents balk over Pulte’s plan to demolish historic mansion – DENNIS RODKIN  (DIERSEN: Several “historical Chicago Golf houses” are in my Milton Township Precinct 9.)
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/realestate/20170228/CRED0701/170229891
(FROM THE ARTICLE: ON ENDANGERED BUILDINGS WATCHLIST  Constructed in 1897, the red brick mansion on the site is now attached to a chapel and the dormitory, both of which were built by the nuns’ order after they took ownership of the property in 1946. The mansion was one of 12 built by original members of Chicago Golf, the Wheaton club that in 1894 built what is now the oldest 18-hole golf course in North America. Illinois Steel president Jay C. Morse built the house for his daughter, Carolyn Morse Ely, and her husband, Arthur Ely, at about the time their marriage was breaking up. It was one of several mansions architect Jarvis Hunt designed for Chicago Golf members. Hunt also designed the course’s clubhouse, which faces the old Ely house across about a half-mile of lawn. Jarvis Hunt’s other buildings included one at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Jackson Park, and railroad stations in several cities. For Kansas City, Hunt designed the 900-room Union Station. Wheaton has no landmarks ordinances that prevent demolition of the convent’s building, said Michael Dzugan, the city manager. “The developer at this point is not interested in restoring the historic structure,” Dzugan said, “so that’s where we’re at with it.” A few weeks ago, Pulte announced it would give the building to anyone wiling to move it, “but nobody has spoken up, as far as I know,” Dzugan said. Wheaton resident Jean Follett said the lack of ordinances protecting the house is “an excuse. People in Wheaton have known the building was threatened since 2009, and have been saying they want it preserved” she said. In 2009, Landmarks Illinois, the historic-buildings advocacy group, included the historical Chicago Golf houses, including the convent, on its Watch List of endangered buildings. “The city could have done something about it any time since 2009,” said Follett, a former Landmarks Illinois board member. Landmarks has sent two letters in recent months to Wheaton officials, urging the city to require Pulte to reuse the mansion. It could house several condos, a park district recreation center, or both, both Follett and the Casas said.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Not every high school graduate will go to a four-year university, many won’t go to community college.  Governor Bruce Rauner told the State Board of Education last week that Illinois’ schools need to do more to get those students ready to work. “Technical classes and apprenticeships should be a core part of what we do in our school system,” Rauner said. The governor added those classes should be taught in high school, if not earlier.)

During that time, and especially after 1988, Republican politicians pushed for and got massive budget and staff cuts at GAO.  Because I was virtually the only non-veteran White male Republican in GAO’s Chicago office, my Democrat superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates in GAO’s Chicago office took their anger against Republican politicians like Newt Gingrich out on me.  Prior to 1988, they forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980, they kept me off audits of IRS 1980-1985, and they did not promote me beyond GS-13. After 1988, they kept me off audits of IRS, they did not promote be beyond GS-13, they always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, and they forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old.)

CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN NEWS
— ROGUE ADMINISTRATIVE STATE NEEDS TO GO ONCE AND FOR ALL – Kent Kellar  (DIERSEN: What about stopping patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaining about the aforesaid? GAO hired me in 1980 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job.  IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job.  The Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job.)
http://conservativerepublicannews.com/2017/02/27/rogue-administrative-state-needs-to-go-once-and-for-all/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Part of the problem is former President Barack Obama changed civil service rules to make it easier to hire federal employees. Trump has solved that by initiating his hiring freeze. But federal rules also make it extremely difficult to fire civil servants. It is a process that can take up to two years, even when there is cause. That said, problem employees who, say, don’t show up for work should be dealt with through this process immediately. But to do more requires Congress to step in, which can assist this process three-fold: 1) By incentivizing early retirement via the appropriations process with limited-time-only buy-outs; 2) cutting the personnel budgets of non-defense civilian departments and agencies, reducing the enacted full-time equivalent number for each department, agency and office by 10 to 20 percent in the workforce on a last-one-in, first-one-out basis; and 3) defunding existing preferences under federal rules being given to those laid off being later rehired on a first-in-line basis. That would eliminate politicized Obama administration holdovers, and prevent them from being rehired should it become necessary to fill in some gaps. Other ideas include eliminating automatic dues deduction for federal employees unions and getting rid of any full-time official time union personnel.)

http://www.federaltimes.com/articles/former-border-patrol-heads-question-rush-to-accelerate-hiring
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A shared concern among those interviewed was that a rapid hiring initiative could pose logistical issues and result in a compromised vetting stage. “When you speed up the process and don’t take the requisite time, you pay a price later in things like corruption,” said Gil Kerlikowske, CBP head for three years under President Barack Obama. During the post-9/11 manpower push, which doubled CBP border patrol agents from 10,000 to 20,000 by 2008, internal corruption cases increased to the point the Anti-Border Corruption Act of 2010 was passed, making polygraph testing mandatory for all border patrol agents. In addition, current applicants undergo a cognitive exam, fingerprinting, financial disclosure, fitness tests, medical examinations and background checks.)

Bruce Rauner contends he’s working with the Trump White House to attack crime in Illinois.  Just who he’s working with he won’t say, and Rauner continues to try to distance himself from the new administration. CBS 2 Political Reporter Derrick Blakley has more. President Trump met with at least 46 of the nation’s governor’s today, fellow Republican Rauner wasn’t there. Rauner returned to Chicago Sunday night, after spending the weekend huddling with other Republican governors. “I have personally been in communication with members of the Trump administration on the violence issue — the folks who are developing the policy,” he says. Unclear is what policy that is. Rauner would not elaborate, nor say who he met from the Trump administration. What’s clear is Rauner still hasn’t met with President Trump, unlike Mayor Rahm Emanuel and a host of other governors. Because he wasn’t with Trump on Monday, Rauner missed another trump verbal barrage directed at the state’s biggest city. It’s no secret Rauner is not exactly fond of the president. He didn’t endorse him, skipped the inauguration, and refuses to even use the words “President” and “Trump” together. It’s fair to ask if avoiding Trump is helping Rauner. A new poll shows Rauner losing in 2018, to an un-named generic Democrat by about 15 points.)

ILLINOIS REVIEW
— RAUNER’S BOYCOTT OF WHITE HOUSE EVENT DOESN’T SET WELL WITH TRUMP SUPPORTERS
http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2017/02/rauner-.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Governor Rauner’s actions were noticed by Macoupin County’s GOP Chairman Terri Koyne, who said Rauner not attending the White House event was disrespectful, but not surprising. “Trump won Illinois in the Primary election – the Republican voters spoke,” she told Illinois Review. “If Rauner chooses to disrespect the voters, that is his choice.” In Koyne’s Macoupin County, more votes were cast for Trump in the General Election than any other presidential candidate – Republican or Democrat – in decades. “It seems by his actions that counties like mine don’t matter to the governor in his re-election strategy,” Koyne said. “It will be interesting to see if Rauner can help the lower offices in their races in Central/Southern Illinois in the next election as much as Trump did in this past election.” To be noted, those statewide races in November where GOP candidates were more closely aligned with Rauner than Trump didn’t turn out so well.)

They hint/imply/argue/shout that were it not for White privilege, I never would have gotten the jobs that I did doing yard work, delivering newspapers, washing dishes, cleaning golf shoes, chipping slag, pumping gasoline, delivering mail, working on an automobile assembly line, working as a security guard, selling tires, automotive services, and major appliances, collecting delinquent federal taxes, and auditing federal agencies. But wait, they demonize, denigrate, and condemn all the aforesaid jobs as being so “bad” a) that they themselves would never take those jobs and b) that no minority, no female, no younger person, and no veteran should ever have to take.)

WORLD NET DAILY
— ‘CENTURIES OF RELIGIOUS CONFLICT’ NOW ON U.S. SOIL ‘To leave would be like giving up on our Constitution’ – LEO HOHMANN  (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, Democrats make it clear that if you do not promote Islam, they will get rid of you.)
http://www.wnd.com/2017/02/centuries-of-religious-conflict-now-on-u-s-soil/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: After the Sterling Heights City Council agreed to settle a lawsuit with the U.S. Justice Department and allow a third mosque to be built in the city, this time right in the midst of a neighborhood populated by Christian refugees who escaped persecution from Islam, some residents said they planned to move out of the city. Sterling Heights, Michigan, is home to the nation’s second largest community of Chaldean and Assyrian Christians, many of them coming directly from Iraq where their families were the victims of a genocide by ISIS, al-Qaida and other Islamic militants over the past 50 years. While understandable, picking up and moving in the wake of a mosque approval is exactly the wrong response, say Michigan activists. “This is our city and our country and our community,” said Tom Mitchell, a 52-year resident of Sterling Heights who says the council’s vote gave him renewed determination to help support his Chaldean neighbors. “To leave would be like giving up on our Constitution, giving up to a culture that doesn’t believe in our Constitution and our laws. I tell people to stick it out, get more active but don’t move out.” Mitchell is a former member of the Army’s 82nd Airborne unit. “I never surrender. I’m a veteran,” he said. “God, family, country, that’s where I stand.” But real-estate transactions are often a fact of life when a mosque gets built in a previously non-Muslim area. The newly released book, “Stealth Invasion,” documents homes being snatched up by Middle-Eastern buyers in certain neighborhoods of Idaho and Minnesota after the U.S. State Department began sending heavy numbers of Islamic refugees to those areas. The same trend has been seen in Warren, which borders Sterling Heights in Macomb County, Michigan.)
