He didn’t raise the overtime claim until now because he wasn’t fully mindful of his right to it and didn’t want to cause trouble at work, said one of his lawyers, Larry Hutcher. “He was always concerned about keeping his job. It was something that he did not want to push,” Hutcher said. They stressed a) that my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974 and b) that my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. They stressed that I was a draft-avoiding non-veteran conservative Republican who opposed patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. They stressed that I was 100% German national origin, a Missouri Synod Lutheran, and someone whose ancestors had been in America since the 1840s. They hinted/implied/argued that IRS should NOT have a) hired me in 1971, b) promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, or c) let me work there for almost 9 years. They hinted/implied/argued that the Post Office should NOT have a) hired me in 1966 or b) let me work there for almost 3 years. They were disgusted, outraged, and beyond furious that I transferred in with almost 12 years of federal seniority, 30 unused vacation days, and more than 100 unused sick days. They hinted/implied/argued/shouted that legislative branch employees were far superior to executive branch employees. They stressed that I had been a union member while I worked for the Post Office and for IRS and that I had filed grievances. They dismissed, belittled, badmouthed, demonized, denigrated, and condemned what I had learn by a) passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, b) almost completing the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul, c) earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976, and d) earning a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970. They painted me and my wife as being undeservedly filthy rich DINKs (dual income, no kids). They stressed that we owned 1017 East Harrison in Wheaton, owned and rented out 774-5 Sunset Court in University Park, and owned a 1972 Corvette, a 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale, and a 1978 Chevy Chevette. They stressed my wife’s salary and her frequent business trips to luxury resorts that could and did accompany her on. They hinted/implied/argued/shouted that my parents were undeservedly filthy rich because they sent me to Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Crete 1953-1961 and then to Hope Lutheran Grade School in Park Forest 1961-1962 to stay with the Missouri Synod. An “invader,” as defined by Merriam Webster, is one who “trespasses, encroaches, and infringes upon another’s property.” The United States is our collective home and those who come here without seeking and gaining permission to enter our collective home are no different than an uninvited guest who enters our personal home to take up residence without permission. As a legal immigrant brought to the United States from Germany at a young age by my parents, I and many legal immigrants who waited sometimes years to obtain the necessary visa for entry resent those who merely walk across our border and claim to be “immigrants.” An immigrant is one who seeks and gains approval to enter, while invaders disrespect our laws put in place by “We the people.” Currently the Democratic Party, under the leadership of Tom Perez, a Marxist, and Keith Ellison, a Muslim Brotherhood operative, have been campaigning for open borders. They have resisted President Trump’s border enforcement, and many others are now calling for the abolishment of ICE (Immigration Custom Enforcement). One only has to look at crime statistics committed by illegals to see a glimpse of what a borderless United States holds for us. The Daily Wire reported that 92 percent of confirmed aliens in Federal Bureau of Prisons custody are illegals and that 97 percent of confirmed aliens in the U.S. Marshal Service custody are illegals. Furthermore, 21 percent of those convicted of non-immigration crimes were non-citizens and 2.5 times their share of the population. The Government Accountability Office reported in 2011 that there were 251,000 criminal aliens in federal, state, and local prisons. Those aliens represented nearly three million criminal offenses, which ranged from homicide and kidnappings to drugs, burglary, and larceny. These criminal offenses would not have occurred here had these criminals been prevented from gaining a foothold into our home and thousands of lives would not have been lost.)

It’s what Justice Samuel Alito described as Illinois’ “generous public-employee retirement packages” when writing for the majority in the Janus v. AFSCME decision. (FROM THE ARTICLE: A progressive court would sense our nation’s sovereign borders differently; immigration issues would be viewed through the prism of globalism. Liberal judges tend to apply pluralistic conditions to their considered opinions. Judicial activism would proliferate in the guise of “righting historical injustices” and, in particular, redressing America’s “original sin” — slavery. If Trump succeeds in appointing a conservative justice, for example, the court effectively would rule against any legislative efforts to have America – meaning the taxpayer – pay some $4.1 trillion to African Americans related to the impact of slavery, as David Horowitz outlines in his 2016 book, “Progressive Racism. ”A liberal Court would see this controversial issue very differently than a conservative Court. And some supporters of reparations already have mapped a way for descendants of slaves to receive some form of compensation. Georgetown University professor and author Michael Eric Dyson has gone so far as to suggest that white Americans — no matter whether their ancestors were slave-owners or not — should maintain an “individual reparations account” as a means of “atonement.” This would involve making donations to African American groups. The Trump administration’s Department of Education already has begun moves to undercut Obama-era policy guidelines to universities to consider race in college admissions if legally possible. Quotas, racial preferences, and the landmark 1978 Supreme Court decision to legalize affirmative action have given way to a far more innocuous, benign term — diversity — and been upheld by the Court as recently as 2016. But the construct — reparations — remains the same. While these “reparations” may be well-intended, they penalize Americans whose ancestors played no role in slavery, in order to compensate Americans who were never enslaved. If the Supreme Court’s ideological majority flipped, future generations would be left to foot the bill.)

Bruce Rauner, who barely escaped an embarrassing defeat in the March primary, needs a united Republican Party behind him if he’s going to defeat his well-heeled Democratic opponent, J.B. Pritzker, in the November election. But that is looking more and more difficult. As time passes, estranged conservatives appear more determined to see Rauner lose and Pritzker win. Two recent events demonstrate the problem Rauner has. Conservative state Rep. Jeanne Ives of Wheaton almost ended Rauner’s dream of a second four-year term in the primary. Rauner received just 51 percent of the primary vote to 49 percent for Ives. Despite that, some Republican leaders hoped that Ives might be persuaded to support Rauner in the general election. After all, if Pritzker wins, Democrats will regain total control of state government and her political party will be relegated to the irrelevant status it endured from 2003 to 2015, when the GOP captured the governor’s office. But time has not healed the sting of defeat for Ives. Asked last week about her intentions, an embittered Ives indicated there is no way she’ll endorse Rauner. “No. I’m not going to endorse the governor. I’m going to let him buy back his voters,” she said. Ives’ differences with Rauner are strictly ideological. A social conservative, she deeply resented Rauner’s decision to sign legislation authorizing taxpayer-funded abortions. Ives is not alone, as demonstrated by the strong support she received in the primary. To make matters worse for Rauner, there’s state Sen. Sam McCann of Plainview. He’s masquerading as a conservative disenchanted with Rauner. But for him, this is strictly business.)
