(FROM THE ARTICLE: A video of an Islamic march featuring thousands of black and hijab-clad Muslims chanting “Allah” and a bunch of gibberish through the streets of Dearborn, Michigan that looks like it could have been filmed in any random Middle Eastern Muslim country went viral and drew outrage on X last week. The account that posted it included a call for Tom Homan’s ICE to deal with the problem by going in and deporting illegals. It’s a justifiable sentiment, but good luck with that. Shockingly, almost 60,000 of the approximately 105,000 residents of Dearborn are of Middle Eastern or North African ancestry. Almost all of those are Arab American Muslims. The problem for the poster, and for anyone else who thinks deporting illegals is the solution to what ails us, is that almost all of them are lawful citizens of the United States, a product of Arab immigration that began almost 100 ago and intensified by waves of refugee resettlements from decades of Middle Eastern conflicts caused in no small part, ironically, by American intervention overseas. Given the numbers, it should be no surprise to find the city run by Muslims. As conservative commentator Matt Walsh pointed out in another viral post: “The mayor of Dearborn, Michigan is Abdullah Hammoud. The guy running against him in the mayoral race is Nagi Almudhegi. The mayor’s chief of staff is Zaineb A. Hussein. The police chief is Issa Shahin. He oversees the commander of the patrol division, Madou Bazzi. The public health director is Ali Abazeed. Don’t forget city council members Kamal Alsawafy and Mustapha Hammoud.” If you are one of the tens of thousands of non-Muslim residents left in the city, you will still be greeted at 6 am in the morning and four other times throughout the day by the Muslim call to prayer broadcast on loudspeaker. For now at least you can complain, like this lady did, but the Muslim-run city council will tell you to pound sand. If you don’t like that a street was renamed after a Hezbollah terrorist, you will not only be told to pound sand, you will be called an Islamaphobe and told you aren’t welcome in the city you grew up in. Yes, technically the rulers of Dearborn are ‘American.’ They and most of their co-religionist voters have the citizenship and naturalization papers saying so, and thus are just as much a citizen of this country as you or me. But is this what the founders envisioned for the country they birthed through blood almost 250 years ago? If Thomas Jefferson could have looked into the future and seen Arabic flags and Islamic chants and hijab-clad women marching through an American street, would he have set things up differently? Trying to normalize a situation ordinary people rightly are disgusted by, ‘Republican’ pollster Frank Luntz embarrassingly quoted part of a letter penned by George Washington as proof that the founders wanted Muslims to, according to Luntz, “find welcome in America.” “If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe,” Washington wrote. “They may be Mohammedans, Jews, or Christians of any sect, or they may be Atheists.” Luntz’s contention was easily ripped to shreds by anyone who bothered to post the entire letter, which was simply correspondence from Washington to a friend in Baltimore asking him to facilitate the purchase of some skilled labor that was purportedly on a ship headed there. Indeed, the idea that our founders – the ones who in 1790 when immigration policy was first discussed limited naturalization to only “free white persons” of “good moral character” who had lived in America for at least two years – would applaud the streets of Dearborn being overrun with chanting Muslims carrying Arabic flags is laughable on its face. On the contrary, if the dead could move they would be turning over in their graves. Still, the founders did recognize the need for immigration, and since 1790 there has been plenty of it. Interestingly, the massive waves from Europe that happened in the 1840s and the 1880s-1920s were opposed by nativists who argued that the Irish, the Germans, the Poles, and the Italians were going to ruin the country. In hindsight, it wasn’t really much of a concern though, because those people had enough in common with the original Anglo-Saxon stock to completely assimilate in a generation or two at most, which is exactly what happened. (We fought against Germany in two world wars, but have you heard anyone complain about ‘those damned Germans’ lately?) Leftists like to cite opposition to these European waves as evidence that conservatives are stupid to oppose the current non-white immigration from Third World hellholes we’re experiencing today, but, as Dearborn has proven, it’s apples and oranges. Extrapolate that over the next few decades at the immigration rate Democrats would have us endure and you’ll get hundreds if not thousands of places just like Dearborn, Michigan or Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Somalis have their own country within a country. The Great Replacement Theory isn’t just a theory, it’s a fact. Leftists hate white people and want them to become a minority in every place they are currently a majority. You may think race doesn’t or shouldn’t matter at all, but they certainly think it does. Now, I’m not in any way arguing for a white nationalist state or the removal or persecution of legal minorities. America should always include minority populations who assimilate, love this country, and want to contribute to its success. However, there is something to be said for an immigration policy, one similar to the one that helped America prosper right up to 1965, that keeps whites from becoming a minority in the country their ancestors founded. An immigration and naturalization policy that allowed Dearborn, Michigan to become what it is now is inherently flawed and should be scrapped and reworked from the ground up. The future of Western Civilization, the vehicle that gave the world most of the progress, freedom, and standard of living it enjoys today, absolutely depends on it.)

The event drew about 1,500 attendees and was organized by local church leaders and Decision Point USA. The prayer rally took place under the French Market Pavilion in downtown Wheaton. Organizers said the event was held to pray for revival in the city, schools, churches, and the nation. “In this moment of grief and urgency, we believe God is our only hope,” a flyer from Decision Point USA said. “Together, we will lift our voices and ask Him to raise up courageous leaders, heal our land and pour out His Spirit on the next generation.” The meeting was organized by leaders from four churches in the Wheaton area who said they believe this time is an opportunity for community revival. The Illinois Supreme Court announced Tuesday it is appointing Howard as resident circuit judge, effective Oct. 17. Her term will end Dec. 7, 2026. She fills a vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Paul Fullerton. Howard, a Glen Ellyn Democrat, has served as a state representative since 2019, first for the 48th District and then the 42nd District. A spokesman confirmed Costa Howard is resigning, but said a date has not been set. Costa Howard has had a solo law practice since 2003. At the intersection of Taylor and Adams, few vehicles comes to a full stop at crosswalks — just one example of how traffic laws are being routinely ignored. This puts pedestrians at serious risk, and it’s not an isolated issue. Another concern is the frequent smell of marijuana on Oak Park streets, especially from passing vehicles. While recreational cannabis is legal in Illinois, the pervasive odor — often near schools, parks, and residential areas — has become a public nuisance and, at times, a health issue. Howard John-Wesley, pastor of Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, in which he said: “There is nowhere in the Bible where we are taught to honor evil and how you die does not redeem how you lived. You don’t become a hero in death when you are a weapon of the enemy in life.” In response to that message, McBroom put up his own Facebook post in which he discussed funding provided to organizations through Naperville’s Special Events & Community Arts (SECA) Commission and stated that groups that engage in political advocacy “should not be subsidized with tax dollars.” According to city documents, the group this year was allocated $5,219 for city services and $21,100 to help cover the cost of operations for Pride Fest, which was held Sept. 13 at Naper Settlement. Naper Pride, in its response to McBroom’s post, posted a follow-up statement in which they said they “do not advocate for violence against anyone” and that everyone “has the right to free speech, but nobody has the right to force anyone else to listen.” The organization also shut down the comments section on its post after receiving a flurry of negative messages. They also noted that Kirk, whose name was later removed from the post, had “advocated for violence against LGBTQ individuals,” including once saying he believed gay people be stoned to death, a point that was widely circulated but has since been clarified. “You’d have to (be) completely tone deaf to not understand that there would be complex feelings around this, everyone is different,” the message said. At Tuesday’s city council meeting, McBroom — former vice president of the anti-LGBTQ+ group Awake Illinois — doubled-down on his belief that Naper Pride took a political stance and should not receive future city funding without an apology or retraction. He posted a clip of his comments from the city council meeting on social media Wednesday: “The posts they put out there suggested that Charlie Kirk was evil, that his followers were the enemy,” McBroom said. “They continued and made a false claim that Charlie Kirk and by extension his followers advocated the stoning or murdering of LGBTQ communities.” McBroom also emphasized in his Wednesday post that while Naper Pride’s comments may fall under protected speech, he believes that protection does not “override responsibility” when it comes to receiving city funds. On Friday, in another social media post, he further stressed it was not a freedom of speech issue. “While I believe this rhetoric is dangerously reckless, particularly to our community youth who were Charlie fans, I still defend their right to say it,” McBroom wrote. “But when they are being funded with OUR money, I believe the tax payers have a right to demand a retraction and apology or end this subsidy entirely.” However, there is nothing in rules governing the awarding of SECA money that states that funding recipients must refrain from political advocacy or making political statements. Despite McBroom’s statement that freedom of speech does not factor into his position, it could easily be seen as such, said Ed Yohnka, a spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union. “What we’re seeing right now and what’s really precarious is we’re seeing people attempting to use the power of the government to punish people for their speech, and oft times that attempted punishment is not really reflective of the speech itself but is, in fact, simply reflective of a political view of some government official,” Yohnka said. “To be sure, the council member can vote or not vote,” Yohnka said. “To condition it on them changing their speech is, in some ways, the thing that really is antithetical to our constitutional system.” The freedom of speech issue came into the forefront this past week with the announcement that the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” late night TV show was being put on indefinite hiatus following a joke the comedian made in reference to Kirk and President Trump’s MAGA followers. The move by ABC had the backing of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who said other such actions may follow. When interviewed on Friday, McBroom said Naper Pride is free to say whatever its wants, but that doesn’t mean the city has to support them financially. He’d like to see the city reexamine its rules for SECA funding, he said. “As far as like a chilling effect on individuals and how they act in the community, maybe that’s not a bad thing,” McBroom said. “If we’re going to continue giving out all these city grants, I think these organizations need to be very careful that they don’t get political and they don’t engage in divisive type of rhetoric and they stay out of the local political process.” A representative from Naper Pride reiterated to the Naperville Sun that its posts were not made with an intent to be divisive or to advocate for violence but to address the situation from the perspective of the LGBTQ+ community. “So many people objecting to the statement are taking it as we are calling them the enemy,” the representative said. “We’re not pointing a finger at anybody, not Mr. Kirk’ followers, not anybody.
