The buyout “offer” expired in 1 year and the early retirement “offer’ in 4 years. I survived until their early retirement offer expired when I was 49 on September 30, 1997. Being forced to retire early is devastating. I should write about that.

In my defense, neither of my parents attended college. My father was only the first of my ancestors to earn a high school diploma. My mother never attended high school.
