CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS
— At this downtown condo building, second-home buyers are back. DD: In Money Magazine’s February 1978 4-page article on me ( https://gopillinois.com/documents/ ), to paint me as being grossly overpaid by IRS, it stressed that I owned a one bedroom condo in the Outer Drive East (ODE) building in downtown Chicago as well as a 5-year-old townhome in University Park. But I was renting out that townhome because I could not sell it without taking a big loss. I bought that ODE condo so that I could walk to/from it and my IRS job in the Loop and graduate evening accounting classes at DePaul.

The 7th Circuit ruled that my Democrat GAO superiors had the power to force me to retire, that is, that they had the power to fire me, when I was 49 years old in 1997, because I was an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.

— Younger generations are making riskier investments and spending more recklessly as they give up on the American dream of owning a home. DD: Did you have the American dream? I did. Where did the money come from for your first down payment? For me, back in the good old days, it came from what I earned a) working for IRS for 15 months and b) working for a Firestone Store part-time for 18 months and full-time for 7 months before that. I bought a new townhome in University Park ( https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/774-Sunset-Ct-5-University-Park-IL-60484/5451474_zpid/ ) when I was 24 years old in 1972. AMERICAN THINKER
— New chant: ‘Assimilate or Repatriate’  DD: All my ancestors immigrated from what is now Germany during the 1840s and 1850s. Sadly, they did not assimilate as fast as they could/should have. Consequently, neither of my parents attended college, my father was only the first my ancestors to earn a high school diploma, and my mother never attended high school. All my grandparents spoke German. I had to work my way through college.

— Minnesota Proves that Politics is a Spoils System. DD: The Democrats who ran GAO in 1980, IRS in 1971, and the Post Office in 1966 hired me because they could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. They wasted my career and forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997 because I refused to become a Democrat. My ending salary in today’s dollars was $153,151/year, but only because I earned three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license. With those qualifications, I would have earned much more in the private sector.
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2025/12/minnesota_proves_that_politics_is_a_spoils_system.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Back at the Dawn of the Progressive Age in 1883 our representatives in Congress passed the Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act and promised a Golden Age with a civil service hired on merit instead of the corruption of the Spoils System. With the average federal worker now earning benefits and a pension far higher than the average private sector worker, does anyone still think that the civil service system is anything other than a corrupt spoils system? Only now the jobs in the spoils system are lifetime jobs for Democrats, and Republicans need not apply, whereas in the bad old days the spoils were switched from one party in a fair and equitable manner after each election.)

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/12/07/gene-dodaro-gao-trump-impoundment-00679550
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Gene Dodaro started his career at what is now the Government Accountability Office in 1973, as then-President Richard Nixon was battling Congress for control of federal cash. More than a half-century later, Dodaro runs that watchdog agency amid another epic clash between Capitol Hill and the White House over President Donald Trump’s funding moves. Now, with his 15-year term as comptroller general coming to an end in late December, he’s getting ready to retire. “I’m going into witness protection,” Dodaro, 74, said in a recent interview of his upcoming departure from the independent office with a workforce of more than 3,000. He meant it as a joke. But Dodaro’s agency, which is tasked with auditing federal programs and helping lawmakers fulfill their constitutional duties, has been under an unprecedented level of scrutiny this year as conservative lawmakers and the White House publicly challenge GAO’s objectivity and seek to undermine its influence. Adding to the pressure on Dodaro, the Supreme Court this fall appeared to endorse the view that only the comptroller general has the authority to sue the Trump administration for flouting impoundment law — not the groups losing out on federal cash. Dodaro has declined to take such legal action, despite the urging of some lawmakers, including Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins. “People are already suing in many cases,” he reasoned, adding that the court’s decision “surprised” him and that he won’t be “cajoled” into suing. “We’ll see what we need to do. But we need to be prudent and make sure that — when we do it — we’re in the strongest possible position to prevail,” he added. Following the Supreme Court’s opinion, Collins said in a brief interview that it “goes without saying” this dynamic underscores the need for the lawmakers involved in the selection process to find a strong candidate to succeed Dodaro. Dodaro’s last day is Dec. 29, at which point he will hand-pick an acting comptroller general to take the reins of the agency until the Senate confirms a permanent replacement. A panel of 10 lawmakers seated on a bipartisan commission is supposed to suggest candidates for Trump to nominate. Whoever succeeds Dodaro will have to direct ongoing probes into Trump’s funding moves. To date, the agency has issued 11 opinions — five concluding the administration illegally withheld money, two citing some wrongdoing. Dozens are ongoing. “The worst thing for GAO is to look like you have an agenda. That’s what concerns me about allegations like we’re against the current president’s agenda. We’re not,” he said. “Our job, and most of what we’re doing, is in response to actions they’ve taken. It’s not things we’re bringing up out of nowhere.” Because the Office of Management and Budget has stonewalled GAO’s requests for information, the agency is forced to rely on evidence in the many lawsuits against the administration, Dodaro said. Moreover, the GAO head said he has never spoken to Trump’s budget chief, Russ Vought. Multiple attempts to make contact during the first Trump administration were unsuccessful, he added. “His public comments have led me to believe that wouldn’t be a successful approach here,” Dodaro said of Vought, who on social media this spring accused the office of taking a “partisan role in the first-term impeachment hoax,” a reference to GAO’s conclusion that Trump illegally withheld aid to Ukraine in 2019. The past 11 months have been politically difficult for Dodaro in other ways. Earlier this year, top Republicans derided GAO for not blessing Senate GOP efforts to skirt filibuster rules to overturn state waivers issued under former President Joe Biden for pollution standards — and ignored the agency’s conclusion to boot. Dodaro fended off Elon Musk’s attempt to send a downsizing team to GAO as part of the president’s now-disbanded Department of Government Efficiency initiative, before House Republicans proposed cutting the agency’s budget in half for the current fiscal year. It’s not the first time the comptroller general has irked a party in power. During the Biden administration, GAO delivered its first-ever estimate of fraud in the federal government, pegging losses at between $233 billion and $521 billion dollars a year. “OMB wasn’t happy,” Dodaro recalled. Dodaro’s agency doesn’t always disappoint Republicans. Just last week, GOP lawmakers cheered a new GAO report reinforcing their arguments about fraud in the Obamacare insurance marketplace. To investigate this claim, GAO set up 24 fake accounts; 22 successfully enrolled in plans. It ended up costing the federal government thousands of dollars a month. And Congress has averted several crises as a direct result of the watchdog’s warnings. That includes action to replace crucial weather satellites before they fail and to buoy the federal insurance program designed to protect Americans whose pension benefits are at risk. “GAO is incredibly valuable … the ability for Congress to ask a hard question and ask them to chase it,” said Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), who added that Dodaro has for years aided him in a running effort to compel federal agencies to identify and describe each program they oversee. Dodaro also started a partnership with experts at the National Academy of Sciences and launched an international effort to help developing countries run audit offices. Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), who is supposed to serve on the commission to recommend candidates for a Senate-confirmed comptroller general, said lawmakers “won’t find anybody as experienced and as knowledgeable” as Dodaro. “The integrity and professionalism he brought to the job, I thought, was exceptional.” Dodaro attributes any praise to decades of relationship maintenance, including with top Trump administration officials who used to be members of Congress and senators who formerly served in the House. “I try to pull out all the stops on my Italian charm,” he joked. “We’re not only in the auditing business. We’re in the relationship business.” The next comptroller general could be anyone, and it could be a long time before that person is seated. Dodaro is the only Senate-confirmed GAO chief who was picked from inside the agency, and he held the position in an acting capacity for more than two years before then-President Barack Obama nominated him upon the recommendation of lawmakers. The Senate confirmed him by unanimous consent in 2010. “If it can be done quickly, that’s fine. If it can’t, then they need to take their time to get the right person in the job, because it’s 15 years,” Dodaro said of the selection process for his successor. “I have great confidence in the people at GAO … and I have confidence in the Congress to take their responsibility seriously and pick someone. This is their person — to serve them.”)

Ironically, my Democrat IRS and GAO superiors hinted/implied/argued/shouted that if I had not gotten married in 1978, I would not have been able to a) pass the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, b) afford to take a $23,472/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer to GAO in 1980, c) earn a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, d) pass the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, or e) become a licensed CPA in 1981. Jan Schakowsky in the largely suburban 9th District was convicted of a sex crime against a juvenile decades ago. DD: Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. Voters demand more from Republican candidates than from Democrat candidates. They demand even more from Republican candidates who state that they are conservative. Candidates can always run as Independents. Should political parties have the power to stop candidates from seeking offices as a member of their party? If so, what criteria should be used? Far too many candidates have tremendous skeletons in their closets. When those skeletons come out, not only they lose, but the party that they ran under loses. When their skeletons come out, far too many Republican candidates blame me and blame my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters. But nothing has ever been in my newsletters that was not already in the public realm and/or was already known by the Democrats. Democrat leaders have always falsely claimed to have first learned of Republican negatives from my newsletters. Far too many who are involved in Republican activities are Democrat plants.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Friedman’s rivals for the GOP nomination have had varied reactions to his criminal history, as have suburban party leaders. Cleveland surprised Friedman by loudly disclosing his status as a registered sex offender during a candidate meet-and-greet last month in Northbrook. A Cleveland campaign aide then asked Friedman about the case while filming the conversation. That video subsequently was shared with the Daily Herald. When asked about Friedman’s past via email this week, Su said no elected official should have a history of sex offenses. Elleson expressed reluctance to comment on Friedman’s conviction, saying he didn’t know the details. A church pastor, he said everyone deserves a second chance. “I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt,” Elleson said in an email. “None of us know the whole story.” Cook County Republican Party Chair Aaron Del Mar called Friedman’s conviction “entirely disqualifying” and said he should drop out of the race. “Voters have every right to expect basic decency and transparency from anyone asking to serve in Congress,” said Del Mar, who’s campaigning for lieutenant governor as Darren Bailey’s running mate. “Someone with this kind of conviction has no business running for federal office, and it is an insult to the voters of the 9th District to pretend otherwise.” Lake County Republican Party Chair Keith Brin noted that political parties have no control over who runs for office. He encouraged voters to research candidates.)

WASHINGTON EXAMINER
— Have high school boys really gotten that bad? DD: Do you attend your high school reunions? Were you marriage material when you were in high school? I was not. I could not run because I had a bone disease. My eyesight could not be corrected to 20/20. I had partial red/green color blindness. Neither of my parents attended college. My father was only the first of my ancestors to earn a high school diploma. My mother never attended high school. My ACT score was only 24. I only just barely made it into the upper 20% of my class. But worst of all, during my junior and senior years, I spent 28 hours a week washing dishes and 40 hours a week during the summer in between.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/magazine-your-land/3897943/have-high-school-boys-really-gotten-that-bad/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: At a time when marriage and birth rates are rapidly declining, a recent Pew poll finding that 12th graders are far less interested in getting married today than they were 30 years ago is alarming. In 1993, according to Pew, some 80% of all 12th graders said they were likely to get married someday, compared to just 67% of 12th graders who said the same thing today. Meanwhile, those who are not interested in marriage at all have almost doubled, from 5% to 9%. But when you drill down on the numbers, an interesting gender imbalance develops. In 1993, 83% of 12th-grade girls expressed a desire to get married someday, compared to 76% of boys. But today those numbers are reversed, with an almost identical 74% of 12th-grade boys interested in marriage, but only 61% of girls. Responding to the new Pew numbers, feminist author Jill Filipovic posted on X, “Might be worth asking what it is about high school boys that girls don’t find appealing, I have a feeling the list is long and informative.” As someone who was once a high school boy (way back in 1993, actually), I can attest that Filipovic is absolutely correct that it would be easy for any high school girl to make a long list of things they did not find appealing about my fellow male classmates and me. But in our defense, we were teenage boys, and we had lots of growing up to do before we became appealing to women. My question for Filipovic is, have high school boys really gotten so much worse than I was in the 1990s? Or maybe our schools and culture are sending a lot more anti-marriage messages to girls today than they were 30 years ago. Pick any Disney movie from the 1990s. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, and Tarzan all have romantic heterosexual relationships at their core. Fast forward to today, and Brave, Moana, Zootopia, Encanto, and Wish are all completely bereft of heterosexual pairing off. The female leads in all these movies are not only unmarried but also completely uninterested in marriage. Brave‘s entire storyline is anti-marriage. And in schools, marriage is never promoted while self-discovery and professional achievement are endlessly encouraged. The little time spent on relationships with boys is all negative. Girls are taught that men are dangerous and to recognize signs of dating violence, coercion, toxic relationships, grooming, and manipulation. But are they ever taught how rewarding a life-long marriage to a spouse can be, or what qualities to look for in a good partner? Nope. Never. That would be far too patriarchal and heteronormative. If we want our civilization to survive, we are going to have to turn our marriage and birth rates around. Maybe it’s time we started teaching our children how absolutely essential marriage is to their happiness and stopped attacking high school boys for being … high school boys.)

With money I earned doing yard work and delivering newspapers, I bought a 1958 Chevrolet in 1964. With money I earned delivering newspapers and washing dishes, I bought a new 1966 Pontiac Tempest Sprint in 1966. With money I earned doing summer jobs in 1966 and delivering mail 1966-1969, a) I bought a new Oldsmobile 442 in 1967, b) I bought a new 1969 Dodge Charger SE in 1968, c) I paid for my college expenses, and d) I graduated debt-free from NIU owning that Charger in 1970.

— A President’s Right to Say ‘You’re Fired’ DD: My Democrat GAO superiors fired me, that is, they forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997. In federal court, they hinted/implied/argued that was what Congress wanted them to do. I had been an active member in a class action lawsuit since 1988 that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. They wanted to give my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate which what they did. He had less work experience than I had. He had less education than I had. He had one professional certification while I had six. He had no professional license like the one I had.

They wasted my career and forced me to retire when I was 49 year old in 1997 because I refused to become a Democrat, because I complained about their loyalty demand and their discrimination, and because I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation when I was 40 years old in 1988.

— Microsoft quietly make big changes to its employee performance reviews. DD: Democrat and RINO employers use performance reviews to get rid of their Republican employees. They paint their Democrat and RINO employees as positively as they can and they paint their Republican employees as negatively as they can. In Diersen v. GAO, I entered into the court record all the many performance reviews that my Democrat superiors gave me 1980-1997. None of them came close to justifying the many adverse actions that they took against me. They forced me to take a $23,472 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. They kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance. They forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997.

— Illinois to celebrate United States’ 250th birthday. DD: By the time I was 48 years old in 1997, I was able to do the following in Illinois even though neither of my parents attended college, my father was only the first of my ancestors to earn a high school diploma, my mother never attended high school, and I had to work my way through college: a) earn a job-related bachelor’s degree, b) earn three job-related master’s degrees, c) earn six job-related professional certifications, and d) earn a job-related professional license. But I doubt that I would have been able to have done the following if I was 48 today in Illinois. Why? Because under the Democrats, Illinois has ever-increasingly become anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-heterosexual, anti-married people, anti-non-poor people, anti-Protestant, anti-German American, and anti-those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.

— Veteran working full-time at grocery store goes viral as social media rallies to help him. In a now-viral post, Ed Bambas explained that he retired from General Motors in 1999 but later lost his pension and now works at a Michigan grocery store “to re-establish myself.” DD: What is your position on a) employees who are in line to get pensions and b) retirees who get pensions? My being in line for a Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension helped me endure tremendous efforts by my Democrat federal superiors to waste my career and to get rid of me. My critics/opponents started using against me my being in line for a CSRS pension since I started working part-time for the Post Office when I was 18 years old in 1966. They have further used against me my becoming eligible to take early retirement when I was 45 in 1993. They have further used against me my getting a CSRS pension since I was 49 in 1997. In my defense, I paid 7% of my federal salary into the CSRS. Further, if my Democrat GAO superiors had not forced me to retire when I as 49 in 1997, I might still be paying into the CSRS. Further, if my Democrat Post Office superiors had not forced me to resign when I was 20 in 1969, I would have 21 more months of federal seniority than I have and my CSRS pension would be much greater. Further, my CSRS pension is dramatically less because my Democrat Post Office, IRS, and GAO superiors wasted my career and forced to retire when I was 49 in 1997.

GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE
— Why America needs the GAO: DD: For almost 18 years, I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO. If Gingrich had reformed GAO during that time instead of gutting it, DOGE would not have been needed.
https://www.govexec.com/oversight/2025/11/why-america-needs-gao-doge-done-right/409745/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Ten months after the launch of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, one thing is clear: no one can agree on how much money it saved—or, in fact, whether it saved any money at all—and, if there were savings, what happened to them. What if DOGE were done right? Here something else is clear: we have had the Government Accountability Office, founded as a green-eye-shade operation back in 1921 to audit every single government transaction. It’s grown into the indispensable watchdog on the federal government’s spending and operations. It’s what DOGE done right looks like. At first, Musk promised to find $2 trillion in savings. Then the pledge dropped to $1 trillion. Then he struggled to document any savings at all. Since 2002, GAO’s work has logged more than $1.45 trillion in savings for taxpayers, across more than 29,000 different federal operations. Last year, savings were $67.5 billion. And better than most watchdogs glad to gobble up every available can of dog food, GAO has kept watch on itself. It’s measured the return on taxpayer investment in its own operations: $123 for every budget dollar. It’s operations aren’t flashy. In fact, they’re pretty wonky, which as card-carrying wonks we greatly admire. Its staff get advanced training when they walk into the door, which never stops as employees move up through the ranks. The size of its staff, which was reduced from 5,200 staff to its current level of about 3,500 after the Republican takeover of the House in 1995, has been relatively stable over the last decade, despite expanding demands on its work. Musk promised to trim the number of federal agencies. “There’s so many that people have never heard of. I think we should be able to get away with 99 agencies,” he said.  It wasn’t clear where that number came from. It was clear from his work that DOGE didn’t know how to get there. GAO, on the other hand, has been identifying areas of duplication and overlap since 2011, with $725 billion in savings in this area alone. As others were struggling to come up with solid savings, GAO in May issued a 154-page report detailing just how to do more. Musk brought in IT whiz kids to comb through the federal government’s information services, but they had little to show for it except putting the security of Americans’ personal information at risk. GAO, in contrast, laid out a plan for figuring out how to save money on IT. Better proof-of-concept work in space-based laser communications could save hundreds of million dollars—and the government could pick up $157 billion by better managing the payment rates in Medicare. In a February Oval Office meeting, Musk claimed the federal government was full of officials who had approved money for “fraudsters,” but that claim turned out to be little more than arm-waving. GAO, in contrast, has since 1990 prepared a report every two years on programs prone to waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement. Its latest report, in February 2025, identified 38 areas needing special attention. This “high-risk list” bears careful reading for anyone who really cares about getting into the guts of the problem. It identifies issues ranging from contract management in the Pentagon to money leaking out of federal disability programs to management of oil and gas leases to mega-challenges inside the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s disaster assistance. Even a casual look of the report—all 323 pages of it—would convince any reader that it’s a road map for which stones to unturn to get at the unholy trinity of waste, fraud and abuse. But there’s more here. GAO keeps score so we can see who’s making progress—and who isn’t. In 10 areas, federal agencies made $84 billion in progress. Three slipped backwards—acquisition of weapons systems by the Pentagon, improving IT management throughout the government and managing the federal government’s property. And even more. GAO doesn’t operate like a sheriff riding into town promising to clean up the saloons. It has developed a big-picture look at federal operations and identified leading practices that federal agencies can pick up. Like any oversight body, federal agencies don’t always like what they hear and often squawk. But there’s no question that we—and even they—are a whole lot better off for GAO’s work. GAO is relatively little known outside government. Even less well known is the fact that it’s an agency that works for Congress. That often is a thorn in the side of the administration, regardless of who’s in power, because GAO often says things the administration would rather not hear. That’s especially been the case in recent months with GAO’s findings that the administration has violated the law in impounding federal money—refusing to spend money that Congress appropriated. This was at the root of Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought’s statement that GAO “shouldn’t exist”.  The OMB Director doesn’t want anyone looking over their shoulder, just as  students don’t like to take home report cards that aren’t straight-A’s or spend their time in detention. But now that we’re closing in on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and celebrating the Constitution that the founders crafted to govern us, we need to strengthen the balance-of-powers model that Madison and the other founders left us. They deliberately chose not to give us an easy system to use in governing ourselves. That means the three branches of government are always going to be jousting with each other—and that’s how it should be. In the growing complexity of our society, we need governmental institutions that can keep up with that complexity. That means Congress, in turn, needs muscle to do the heavy lifting required to oversee the executive branch, whether it’s a Republican or Democratic Congress, or a Republican or Democratic President. That’s what Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Hamilton and the other founders had in mind. And that’s why the next month is so important. The current head of GAO, Comptroller General Gene Dodaro, will be at the end of his fifteen-year term, the longest term in the federal government except for the lifetime appointment of federal judges, and the process to name a successor will shift into high gear. A special commission—consisting of congressional leaders—recommends a slate of individuals to the president. The president selects one person to nominate, and the Senate must then confirm the new head. This appointment is a pretty big deal. It will ensure strong oversight through the 2030s into the 2040s and reinforce the balance of powers for even longer. GAO will provide the executive branch with the independent insights it needs to wring out waste, fraud and abuse. It is a tool that Congress can use to hold the executive branch accountable, essential because a weak GAO weakens the legislative branch. We all have a stake in making sure that GAO can provide the oversight the Constitution requires—and the balance of powers that they designed.)

DD: Democrat and RINO employers use performance reviews to get rid of their Republican employees. They paint their Democrat employees as positively as they can and they paint  their Republican employees as negatively as they can. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Tania Nemer is one of dozens of immigration judges fired by the Trump administration this year. But a new lawsuit filed in Washington, D.C., suggests what happened to Nemer — and why — has the potential to scramble the federal workforce and upend foundational civil rights laws. Nemer alleges that despite top performance reviews, she was dismissed from her job because of her gender, her status as a dual citizen of Lebanon and the fact that she once ran for municipal office in Ohio as a Democrat. Those reasons, she says, are all in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the First Amendment. The government has responded by arguing that the president’s power to oversee the executive branch under Article II of the U.S. Constitution essentially overrides that core civil rights law, Nemer’s attorney said.)

Not one of them came close to justifying the many adverse actions that they took against me.

According to them, if had spent my career in the capitalist private sector instead of the socialist federal government, I never would have made $153,151/year in today’s dollars when I was 49 years old in 1997. What if I had spent my career in the capitalist private sector? I earned a bachelor’s degree in management. I earned master’s degrees in business, accounting and finance. I earned professional certifications in accounting, internal auditing, fraud examination, government financial management, financial services auditing, and forensic accounting. I earned a CPA license. To advance in the socialist federal government, you have to be a Democrat.

— Too scared to share? Fear of social sanctions for political expression on social media. DD: I should write about my critics/opponents and the biggest adverse actions that they have taken against me because of my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters.
https://academic.oup.com/jcmc/article/29/1/zmad041/7394121
(FROM THE ARTICLE: While social media provide opportunities for political expression, many people may be reluctant to share their opinions if they fear personal or professional repercussions for posting political views. Fear of social sanctions (FOSSs) therefore represents a promising approach to investigate why people often avoid expressing political opinions online. Using panel survey data collected during the 2020 U.S. election, this study examines the predictors of FOSSs, as well as its relationship with several forms of online political expression. Results indicate that the ideological diversity of people’s online networks fosters their FOSSs, which in turn is associated with decreases in several types of online political expression. Thus, FOSSs may be an important determinant in individuals’ calculations to express political opinions online and may also hinder lower commitment forms of political engagement. Social media allow people to publicly express their political views, but many say they do not take advantage of this opportunity because they are afraid that sharing their political opinions online could lead to negative consequences in their personal or professional lives, such as damaging their relationships with friends and family or jeopardizing their job. This study has two goals. First, we examine whether characteristics of people’s social media environments impact their fears about sharing their political views online. Second, we test whether fears about the social and professional consequences of sharing political views online actually make it less likely that people express their political opinions on social media. We find that people who have more politically diverse social media environments are more fearful of sharing their political views online. We also find that people who are more afraid of the social and professional consequences of sharing their political views on social media often engage in self-censorship, becoming less likely to share news or their political opinions online, including liking or commenting on political posts made by others. This suggests that fears about the negative consequences of sharing political views on social media can limit political expression online.)

https://buckscountybeacon.com/2025/11/a-lost-generation-of-news-consumers-survey-shows-how-teenagers-dislike-the-news-media/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Asked by the News Literacy Project for one word to describe today’s news media, 84% of teens responded with something negative — “biased,” “crazy,” “boring,” “fake, ”bad,” “depressing,” “confusing,” “scary.” More than half of the teens surveyed believe journalists regularly engage in unethical behaviors like making up details or quotes in stories, paying sources, taking visual images out of context or doing favors for advertisers. Less than a third believe reporters correct their errors, confirm facts before reporting them, gather information from multiple sources or cover stories in the public interest — practices ingrained in the DNA of reputable journalists. To some degree, teens reflect the attitudes they’re exposed to, particularly when the most prominent politician of their age has made “fake news” a mantra. Experts say few teens follow news regularly or learn in school about the purpose of journalism. Journalists don’t help themselves with mistakes or ethical lapses that make headlines. Opinionated reporters or commentators in an era of political division make readers wonder what to believe. “Some of this (attitude) is earned, but much of it is based on misperception,” said Peter Adams, senior vice president of research and design for the Washington-based News Literacy Project. There are ways to turn things around, but it will take work. Many of Lily Ogburn’s classmates get their information from social media. Their parents didn’t watch or read news reports as they grew up, so they didn’t pick up the habit, said Ogburn, a senior at Northwestern University’s journalism school. Ogburn is the former editor-in-chief at the well-regarded Daily Northwestern student newspaper. The newspaper’s 2023 reports on alleged hazing and racism within the school’s football program led to the ouster of its coach. Still, she found some students don’t understand the newspaper’s role; they believe it exists to protect people in power rather than hold them accountable. She frequently had to explain what she did to classmates. “There’s a lot of mistrust toward journalists,” she said. But it has firmed her resolve to stick with the profession. “I want to be a journalist that people trust,” Ogburn said, “and I want to report news that makes people believe and trust in the media.” The news industry’s financial troubles over the past two decades have hollowed out newsrooms and left fewer journalists on duty. Along with not seeing much legitimate journalism, young people frequently don’t experience it through popular culture — unlike a previous generation, which learned in detail how Washington Post reporters Robert Woodward and Carl Bernstein exposed the Watergate scandal in the Academy Award-winning movie “All the President’s Men.” When the News Literacy Project asked, two-thirds of teens couldn’t think of anything when asked what movies or TV shows come to mind when they think about journalism. Those who had answers most frequently cited the “Spider-Man” franchise or the movie “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Neither portrayal was particularly flattering. Upon retiring as editor of Newsday, Howard Schneider helped develop the State University of New York system’s first School of Journalism. But instead of teaching future writers, editors or producers, he became drawn to teaching non-journalists about being news consumers. Now the executive director of SUNY Stony Brook’s Center for News Literacy, Schneider wasn’t surprised about any of the recent survey’s findings, either. “The negativity, the feeling that news is biased, is just a reflection of how their parents feel,” Schneider said. “The more exposed to news, legitimate news, the more their attitudes turn positive.” He has developed news literacy programs for school districts. “Students will say, ‘I get my news from YouTube,’” he said. “I say, ‘No, you don’t,’” and explains where the news originates and how to be discerning about what they see.)

HR NEWS
— 6 Ways to Reduce Bias in Skills Based Hiring DD: What do you attribute your test taking success/failure to? Many if not most if not virtually all of those who failed the tests that I passed did not share my demographics. Because of that, according to my critics/opponents, the tests that I passed were biased against those who did not share my demographics. In my defense, neither of my parents attended college. My father was only the first of my ancestors to earn a high school diploma. My mother never attended high school. I passed all the tests needed to earn a job-related bachelor’s degree and three job-related master’s degrees. I passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt. What should my test taking success be attributed too?

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The White House has launched a new section on its website dedicated to calling out media it considers misleading or having a bias in its coverage of President Trump and his policies. At the top of the site it says, “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.”  It lists the “media offender” of the week, which will seemingly be updated. When users scroll down, it names the outlet, the reporter, the offense, the claim the article makes, what “the truth is” and what the key points of the issue are, among other things. There is an “offender hall of shame” and users can search for a specific headline, or scroll through specific outlets and reporters. It also features a “leaderboard” characterized as a “race to the bottom.” The leaderboard has The Washington Post as first, followed by MSNBC, CBS News, CNN, The New York Times, Politico and The Wall Street Journal.)

— Is “Up or Out” Holding Us Back? DD: Democrat and RINO leaders use up-or-out to get rid of Republicans. Democrats run the federal government. They get rid of their employees who are Republican employees who are White, male, and/or non-veteran who they do not promote to GS-13 ($117,807) by age 25, GS-14 ($139,211) by age 30, GS-15 ($163,749) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service ($195,200) by age 40. Extremely few federal employees make the aforesaid promotion deadlines. I never would have made GS-13 when I was 38 or survived until I was 49 if I had not a) earned a job-related bachelor’s degree (management) when I was 21, b) made GS-12 ($99,069) when I was 25, c) earned three job-related master’s degrees (business, accounting, and finance) when I was 27, 31, and 48, d) earned six job-related professional certifications (accounting, internal auditing, fraud examination, government financial management, financial services auditing, and forensic accounting) when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and e) earned a job-related professional license (CPA) when I was 32. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Buying Americans out of poverty is undermining incentives to work, with families living in poverty relying more on taxpayer-funded welfare checks than income from work, according to a newly released report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Costing well over $1 trillion, America’s social safety net encompasses more than 80 federal programs, and is discouraging beneficiaries from seeking income from work. The report, which was requested by Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08), shows low-income families are becoming increasingly dependent on government transfers. In 1979, families living below the poverty line earned about 60 percent of their income from work. In 2021, that number dropped to an all-time low of around 25 percent. The report also shows how the dramatic increase in dependency on government transfers for low-income families was accelerated by COVID-era benefits.)

Most notably, the president set a target of four reductions for every one new hire into government. We exceeded this goal – the government hired roughly 68,000 people this year, while approximately 317,000 employees left the government. . .First, we want to make sure the government has the right talent focused on the key priorities of the administration and that we are eliminating wasteful taxpayer expenses in areas that are inefficient, no longer required, or in direct contradiction of administration priorities. Simply put, we want agencies to focus their headcount resources on the most critical objectives that deliver maximum value to the taxpayer.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: For two hours every day, Lee Si-young and her colleagues broadcast uncensored foreign news into authoritarian North Korea. Her radio audience could go to jail if caught listening. Lee’s Seoul-based Free North Korea Radio station has tried for two decades to give real-time news to North Korea’s 26 million people. But Lee says she now feels a sense of crisis about her work as big government-funded broadcasters in the United States and South Korea have fallen silent this year because of major funding cuts and policy changes. “Our frustrations with the U.S. and South Korean governments are growing over their suspensions of radio broadcasts,” said Lee, a defector who heads the small, nongovernmental FNK radio station. “We’re afraid that they’ve abandoned North Korean residents.” Major channels broadcasting into North Korea fall silent. In North Korea, all radio and TV sets are fixed to state-run channels. But defectors have testified that they modified their radios or used smuggled ones to covertly tune in to foreign broadcasts at night for news their government didn’t want them to hear. That includes outside perspectives of the North’s ruling Kim dynasty, more affluent and freer Western lifestyles, and success stories about defectors.)

I did not appeal my 1-A draft classification, but what if I had done that? I could not run because I had a bone disease. My eyesight could not be corrected to 20/20. I had red/green color blindness.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Fogerty went on to explain that “Fortunate Son” is ironically an anti-war-movement anthem that criticizes privileged people who used their money and status to defer from the Vietnam War draft. The song has been treated as a patriotic working-class anthem, but listen past its star-spangled opening lines — “Some folks are born made to wave the flag/Ooh, they’re red, white and blue” — for Fogerty’s anti-establishment storytelling about how the poor were sent to fight and die in Vietnam while the wealthy were spared.)

According to RINO leaders of the Illinois Republican Party, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and Milton Township Republican Organization, I am not free to speak out against Democrat promotion of dependency on government, LGBTQ, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, illegal drugs, diminishment of Second Amendment rights, and Affirmative Action and DEI, that is, race and gender based preference giving, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, religious discrimination, and national origin discrimination.

— Disobeying Military Orders Is Full of Risk. The military code strongly favors obedience. Orders are presumed to be lawful. DD: While I worked for the Democrats who ran IRS 1971-1980 and GAO 1980-1997, I never disobeyed their orders to give preference to my subordinates who were Democrat, minority, female, younger than me, and/or veteran. I gave them lots of preference. But that was not good enough for my Democrat superiors. Because I complained about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, they ever-increasingly wasted my career, ever-increasingly took more and bigger adverse actions against me, and ultimately forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997.

https://www.shrm.org/advocacy/eeoc-issues-technical-assistance-on-protecting-us-workers
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has issued a technical assistance document titled “Discrimination Against American Workers Is Against the Law.” Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it is unlawful to discriminate against people based on race, color, sex, national origin, or religion — collectively known as protected characteristics. This is part of the EEOC’s continued focus on bias against U.S. workers. On Feb. 19, Andrea Lucas, then-acting chair of the EEOC, stated, “The EEOC is putting employers and other covered entities on notice: if you are part of the pipeline contributing to our immigration crisis or abusing our legal immigration system via illegal preferences against American workers, you must stop.” The EEOC’s new technical assistance highlights that anti-American national origin discrimination is prohibited under Title VII. The document outlines that employment policies, programs, or practices may be unlawful if motivated, in whole or in part, by people’s national origin, even that of U.S. citizens. Examples include discriminatory job advertisements that favor certain visa holders; unequal treatment in hiring, firing, promotions, or assignments; and workplace harassment that creates a hostile or abusive environment. For HR professionals, this technical assistance document reinforces the agency’s focus on enforcing national origin discrimination under Title VII, even though the underlying law has not changed. Employers should review policies and practices that may previously have gone unnoticed. The EEOC’s updated materials provide an opportunity for HR professionals to revisit policies, training, and communications to mitigate compliance risk.)

SEE: https://gopillinois.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/DiersenGAOFifthAmendedComplaint.pdf  GAO never succeeded in getting the court to dismiss my lawsuit. But GAO did succeed in getting the court to grant GAO summary judgment, that is, GAO succeeded in getting the court to deny me my 7th Amendment rights. GAO hinted/implied/argued/shouted that no jury would ever rule in my favor. I have very bad jury appeal. I am conservative, Republican, White, male, older, non-veteran, non-poor, Protestant, German American, and my ancestors have been in America since 1844. How bad is your jury appeal?

— Tell Your Representative to Pass the Protect America’s Workforce Act. DD: My critics/opponents are anti-union. They are furious that while I was a union member 1966-1980, my salary increased from $19.37/hour to $112,280/year in today’s dollars. But during that time, I earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU. I earned an MBA from Loyola. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt. I earned a master’s degree from DePaul.

ATLANTIC
— America’s ‘Marriage Material’ Shortage. Adults are significantly less likely to be married or to live with a partner than they used to be. DD: Democrat leaders ever-increasingly destroy traditional marriage. Under the Democrats, fewer and fewer and fewer people are marriage material. What helped make you marriage material? By the time I got married when I was 29 in 1978, I had worked for IRS for almost 7 years and my salary was $108,978/year in today’s dollars. I had earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976 and I was taking graduate evening accounting courses at DePaul. I lived in a one bedroom condo in the Outer Drive East building that I had bought in 1976. I was renting out a town home in University Park that I had bought new in 1972. I owned a 1972 Corvette that I had bought new in 1971. SEE: https://gopillinois.com/documents/

ROLLING STONE
— DD: Democrats run the federal government. They use Affirmative Action (AA) and DEI to waste the careers of and to get rid of their Republican employees who are White, male, older, and/or non-veteran. They certainly used AA and DEI to waste my career and to get rid of me. All my coworkers who they promoted over me were Democrats who were minority, female, younger than me, and/or veteran. They all had less work experience than I had, less education than I had, no professional certifications or fewer than I had, and/or had no professional license like the one I had.  When I was 49 years old in 1997, they forced me to retire and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate who had less work experience than I had, who had less education than I had, who had one professional certification while I had six, and had no professional license like the one I had.

INDEPENDENT
— Two members of the Illinois National Guard said they would refuse orders to carry out the Trump administration’s long-stated goal of sending federal troops into Chicago. DD: Have you refused orders? I have not. Democrats run the federal government. Virtually all federal employees are Democrats. While I worked for IRS 1971-1980 and for GAO 1980-1997, all of my subordinates were Democrats who were minority, female, younger, veteran, disabled, and/or had major performance problems. I never refused orders to give them preference. I gave them lots of preference. But that was not enough for my Democrat superiors. Because I complained about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, they ever-increasingly wasted my career, ever-increasingly took more and bigger adverse actions against me, and ultimately forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997.
