The State Farm Stadium typically holds a whopping 63,400 people, but can stretch to accommodate more than 73,000 for larger events, according to the venue. The Desert Diamond Arena, which is less than a mile away from the megadome, can fit around 20,000 people. Organizers said further event guidance and instructions will be sent to attendees the evening before the service. How to watch the memorial service Beyond the stadiums, mourners near and far will be able to watch the funeral live online through multiple news networks, including many Fox and CBS affiliates. It will also likely be streamed by Turning Point USA, given that the organization has livestreamed previous memorial services for its founder. What to expect Security will be tight between both stadiums. The speakers set to deliver remarks feature a laundry list of White House officials, including President Trump and Vice President Vance, who was a close friend of Kirk. Kirk’s widow, Erika, will also deliver remarks. Just yesterday, a pre-trial protective order was filed on her behalf while her husband’s alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, is behind bars. The rest of the speakers primarily come from the Trump Administration’s cabinet, including Secretary of Health and Human Services RFK Jr. and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who both spoke at Kirk’s memorial at the Kennedy Center. Rabine was an early backer of Turning Point USA, which Kirk cofounded in 2012 to bring conservative ideas to college campuses. “I have watched him over the past 13 years become the greatest leader behind positive change in our college universities and our country,” said Rabine, who ran for governor in 2022. “Terrible tragedy,” said former Gov. Bruce Rauner, another early donor to Turning Point noting Kirk was part of his 2014 rise to Springfield. Rauner described the young activist as “bright, talented and charismatic.” What we know: Kirk, 31, was killed by a single gunshot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University in the conservative town of Orem, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. They forced me to retire a) because I was an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation and b) because my Black CPA subordinate talked and acted like he would leave GAO if GAO did not get rid of me. He had less work experience than I had. He had less education than I had. He had one professional certification while I had six. I was not a licensed CPA like I was. They gave him my job and my preferred corner office.
