The Illinois Republican Party (IRP) is controlled by a cartel of men and women who ignore the Republican Platform, support (either directly or indirectly) the killing of babies, and can by no means be called “conservative.” Do you have an interest in this one, perhaps last, window of opportunity to work some good in the IRP? On April 18, every county in Illinois will hold a county Republican Party convention. At this county convention, Republican precinct committeemen will fill two important party positions: 1. The chair of the county Republican organization 2. The IRP State Central Committee (SCC) member that represents that county The IRP is governed by the SCC, which consists of 18 members, one representing each of the state’s congressional districts. The SCC members are elected by a vote of the precinct committeemen within each congressional district. The SCC is a powerful group. Their purpose is to “establish, organize, and promote the operations of the Republican Party.” They determine which candidates will receive money from the IRP and also who will serve on the Illinois State Convention platform committee. If you are a precinct committeeman, we urge you to vote for a liberty-minded, pro-life candidate that adheres to the Illinois Republican Party Platform. If you are not a precinct committeeman, you can still help by appealing to your precinct committeeman to vote for a conservative, Platform-respecting candidate. If there is no liberty-minded, pro-life candidate in your district, we suggest you abstain from voting. A substantial undervote sends a compelling message that the base of the IRP is conservative and wants conservatives to direct the IRP. Here are the State Central Committee 2018 candidates conservatives can personally recommend. Each one is worthy of the base’s support. Be brave. Be bold. Your boldness will strengthen the weaker ones to do good.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Department of Homeland Security wants to track the comings and goings of journalists, bloggers and other “media influencers” through a database. The DHS’s “Media Monitoring” plan, which was first reported by FedBizOpps.gov, would give the contracting company “24/7 access to a password protected, media influencer database, including journalists, editors, correspondents, social media influencers, bloggers etc.” in order to “identify any and all media coverage related to the Department of Homeland Security or a particular event.” The database would be designed to monitor the public activities of media members and influencers by “location, beat and influencers,” the document says. The chosen contractor should be able to “present contact details and any other information that could be relevant including publications this influencer writes for, and an overview of the previous coverage published by the influencer.” The request comes amid concerns regarding accuracy in media and the potential for U.S. elections and policy to be influenced via “fake news.” The plan calls for the ability to track 290,000 news sources including online, print, broadcast and social media. Also, it would have the ability to track media coverage in over 100 languages, along with the “ability to create unlimited data tracking, statistical breakdown, and graphical analyses on ad-hoc basis.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: According to her website, a possible motivation for the shooting could have been tied to her many YouTube accounts, which she says have seen a decline in viewership over the past few months. She embedded videos from the biggest YouTubers on the platform on the site, including massive creator Casey Neistat. In them, they talk about the YouTube “Ad-apocalypse” where many users are seeing massive dips in traffic, subscriber count loss, and de-monetization of videos. Neistat has more than 9,000,000 subscribers and made a famous video about the YouTube ad revenue scare for creators. It appears that Aghdam was disgruntled by the changes in the YouTube platform. She wrote on her website, “Be aware! Dictatorship exists in all countries but with different tactics! They only care for personal and short-term profits and do anything to reach their goals even by fooling simple-minded people, hiding the truth, manipulating science and everything, putting public mental and physical health at risk, abusing non-human animals, polluting the environment, destroying family values, promoting materialism and sexual degeneration in the name of freedom and turning people into programmed robots!” She goes on to quote Adolf Hitler saying, “Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will believe it.” The rest of her message targets YouTube and censorship. “There is no free speech in the real world and you will be suppressed for telling the truth that is not supported by the system. I had worked for IRS since 1971 and she had worked for the U.S. League of Savings Institutions since 1970. In today’s dollars, IRS paid me $89,178/year. We used her savings for the down payment to buy 1017 East Harrison in Wheaton and we used the profit from the sale of my one bedroom condo in the Outer Drive East building to buy a new 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale and a new 1978 Chevy Chevette. I soon sold my 1962 Chevy BelAir and I continued to store my 1972 Corvette in my mother’s garage in Crete. I took graduate accounting courses at DePaul’s downtown building and Karen soon started taking courses there toward a bachelor’s degree in finance. Because of Money Magazine’s February 1978 4-page article on us, IRS had disallowed all the graduate business courses that I had taken at Loyola and all the graduate accounting courses that I had taken at DePaul. Eventually, I won a split decision in Tax Court. The judge imposed a new rule that you cannot deduct accounting courses until you are qualified to take the CPA examination. Filippo Menczer is a member of IU’s Center for Complex Networks and Systems Research. His co-authors for the paper included researchers at high-profile organizations such as Microsoft, Harvard, MIT and Yale. They said companies with platforms used by massive audiences to produce and consume information, such as Facebook, Google and Twitter, have an “ethical and social responsibility transcending market forces” to contribute to scientific research on fake news. The paper was published in the academic journal a little more than a week after 13 Russians were indicted for involvement in a “troll farm” operation that spread false information connected with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Menczer is founder of the IU Observatory on Social Media, which provides tools for identifying automated social media accounts and analyzing how misinformation spreads across social networks. Estimates in the paper put the number of automated “bots” at 60 million on Facebook and up to 48 million on Twitter. The Twitter estimate was based on a study Menczer and colleagues had conducted recently. “The spreaders of fake news are using increasingly sophisticated methods,” Menczer said in a statement about the essay. “If we don’t have enough quantifiable information about the problem, we’ll never be able to design interventions that work.
