KANKAKEE DAILY JOURNAL
— Let’s get rid of all the political consultants – Jim Nowlan (DIERSEN: I have been a member of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) (https://theaapc.org/) since 2001. I served on the board of AAPC’s Midwest Chapter 2001-2004. I have always complied with AAPC’s Code of Ethics (http://theaapc.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/AAPC-Code-of-Ethics.pdf). There are extremely few Republican AAPC members in Illinois. I am one of them. I should write a book about those in Illinois who claim to be Republican political consultants, who are not AAPC members, who reject AAPC’s Code of Ethics, who viciously demonize, denigrate, and condemn me, and who bring disgrace at all political consultants.)
http://www.daily-journal.com/opinion/columnists/local/jim-nowlan-let-s-get-rid-of-all-the-political/article_b4313f71-0ce4-5fe9-b42e-e753909887c2.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Recently, on the same day, I received five over-size, glossy political postcards from Gov. Bruce Rauner. The cards told the most outrageous, bald-faced lies about an opponent that I have ever read. As I digested the messages, I became sick to my stomach. Rauner is being challenged by state Rep. Jeanne Ives for the GOP nomination for governor, at the March 20 Republican primary election. I do not favor either candidate. Ives is too conservative for me, and Rauner is, well, a bald-faced liar. And, apparently, not embarrassed or shamed a whit about his lying to the voters. The messages say that Ives, among other dastardly deeds: Is the lackey of Democratic Speaker of the Illinois House Mike Madigan Wants to keep the recent increase in the income tax and Opposes cutting property taxes Thee anti-Ives statements are “supported” by citations of roll call votes and quotations found in newspapers. Shamefully, the above claims by Rauner represent lying by the ploy of excerpting snippets from larger statements to reverse the meaning. For example, in Henry IV, Shakespeare has Dick the Butcher declare: ”The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.” Sounds like an attack on lawyers. Yet, in the full context, Butcher thought if he disturbed law and order, he could become king. Thus, Shakespeare meant the famous line as a compliment to attorneys and judges who instill justice in society. That is what Rauner and his consultants have done. Reverse the meaning. Red becomes green; night, day. Indeed, Ives is as anti-Madigan, anti-tax (of any kind) as they come. Respected publications, such as Crain’s Chicago Business, columnist Scott Reeder and others, already have called out Rauner for his lying. We also must note Democrat Madigan, Rauner’s nemesis, has been using misleading attack ads against GOP opponents for years. I still stifle a rueful chuckle when I recall an ad in which Madigan minions charged a GOP opponent for consorting with sex perverts. This was so because the Republican rented an apartment to someone who had years earlier been convicted of some sex crime. Political campaigning has been rough and tumble since the early days of the Republic, when Federalists passed the Alien and Sedition Act. The law allowed President John Adams to jail to newspaper editors and others who criticized him, which he did with gusto. Today, billionaires flaunt limitless campaign spending as they assault untutored voters with lies and misleading half-truths that are laughable to insiders. Why do they do this? Because it works. In my day, half a century ago, candidates generally stuck to making positive statements about themselves, leaving their opponents alone. Not today, obviously. I blame the political consultants. They are paid to win, period. Not to win fairly, honestly, nor with substantive arguments. But simply to win. Win-at-any-cost consultants disgust me. They lurk in the background of campaigns, holding in contempt the voters they deceive. Consultants have found that voters — their cynicism probably ingrained by endless attack ads courtesy of those same consultants — tend to believe the worst about candidates today. Of course, candidates don’t have to accept the advice from consultants that they mislead the public about their opponents. Yet, too many candidates want to win so badly they accept the “wisdom” of their consultants, and thus often spend most of their money on the attack. Legitimate criticism of an opponent is fair game, of course, and helpful to voters. But outright lying? Come on. If we — you and I — don’t call out bald-faced lying, things will only get worse, if such is possible. At the national level, PolitiFact uses volunteers and donations to call out misrepresentation and lies. I propose at the state and local level in Illinois we create a simple Code of Ethics for Political Campaigns: “I will neither lie nor mislead voters about my opponents.” Then we ask all candidates to sign the pledge. Those who fail to sign the pledge, or break it, would be publicly rebuked. Those who sign and keep to the pledge would be publicly commended. The ideal group to implement a Code of Ethics would be the nonprofit Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. But they would need lots of volunteer help. Pollyannaish? Sure, but we could use some Jimmy Stewart (Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) politics in our democracy. So, to be charitable, let’s not kill all the political consultants, appealing as the thought might be. Instead, let’s call out those consultants and candidates who lie and mislead.)

Charlton filing Diersen v. GAO in 1998. SEE: https://gopillinois.com/documents/ So far, at a minimum, in today’s dollars, my Democrat GAO superiors have cost me $1,505,950 ($2,569,162 lost salary minus $1,063,212 pension payments).)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire — a move that McCabe alleged was an attempt to slander him and undermine the ongoing special counsel investigation into the Trump campaign. Sessions announced the decision in a statement just before 10 p.m., noting that both the Justice Department inspector general and the FBI office that handles discipline had found “that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.” He said based on those findings and the recommendation of the department’s senior career official, “I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.” The move will likely cost McCabe a significant portion of his retirement benefits, though it is possible he could bring a legal challenge. He responded on Friday night with a lengthy statement, claiming he was being targeted because he was a witness in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia and asserting that his actions were appropriate. He also alleged former FBI Director James B. Comey knew about the media disclosure about which the inspector general has raised questions. “This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally,” McCabe said. “It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work.” Trump tweeted early Saturday morning, “Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!” An email notifying McCabe of the move was sent to his work account and his lawyers just minutes before Sessions’s statement was made public, though McCabe learned of the firing from press accounts, his spokeswoman said. McCabe has been fighting vigorously to keep his job, and on Thursday, he spent nearly four hours inside the Justice Department pleading his case.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Taping “Connected to Chicago with Bill Cameron” for Sunday night at 7, Democratic candidate for governor Chris Kennedy was controversial talking about Gov Rauner’s GOP challenger State Representative Jeanne Ives. Chris Kennedy is candid. When Cameron asked who he’d rather run against, Bruce Rauner or Jeanne Ives, he brought up religion and said Ives “has no moral core” that he can identify with. “You know Jeannie Ives, it’s kind of interesting to me, she’s proved you can be a Catholic without being Christian,” said Kennedy. “And if you want evidence of that, you can see the ad that she ran attacking immigrants in the United States which were largely the people of Abraham in this country. We don’t attack immigrants. To attack the LGBT community in that ad. That’s not what we do.” The Ives campaign has a biting response. It says, “Chris Kennedy might want to check with Cardinal Cupich or Pope Francis on matters like respecting and protecting unborn life before he starts excommunicating people from the Church.” It adds “Kennedy is just another vacuous, virtue-signaling Leftist hack who worships at the altar of big government and prays to the almighty Mike Madigan.”)

On the right, many attack civil servants as part of a putative “deep state” bent on sabotaging President Donald Trump’s agenda, and they want to restrain or get rid of those whom they derisively describe as “unaccountable bureaucrats.” And on the left, some castigate federal employees as complicit in policies that are “unconscionable,” “undemocratic” or worse.)

CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS
— These Chicago suburbs are seeing white flight – DENNIS RODKIN
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/realestate/20180314/CRED0701/180319958/chicago-suburbs-seeing-white-flight
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In 24 census tracts mostly clustered in the southern end of Cook County, around places like Lynwood, Matteson and Homewood, the share of the white population declined at least one-quarter during that decade. The raw number of the decline had to be at least 100 people to be counted in Kye’s study. While data for other suburban Chicago counties are not reported in Kye’s paper, he dug into the data at Crain’s request and found seven census tracts in northeastern Will County, around Bolingbrook and Romeoville, and three scattered tracts in DuPage County that met his study’s criteria. There were none in Lake, Kane or McHenry counties, Kye said.)
— A startup for you debt-burdened millennials – ARI BENDERSKY (DIERSEN: Where did the money come from to pay for your college expenses? My outstanding parents provided me with room and board in their home in Crete a) 1966-1968 while I was a student at UIC, b) weekends during my first semester at NIU in 1969, and c) the summer of 1969. The money to pay for tuition, books, a new 1968 Oldsmobile 442 in 1967, a new 1969 Dodge Charger SE in 1968, and room and board at NIU 1969-1970 (three semesters at University Plaza Dormitory (https://www.uplaza.com/) and then a summer session at Lincolnshire West Apartments (http://www.lincolnshirewest-apts.com/ ) came from my part-time Park Forest Post Office job 1966-1969 that paid $15.85-$16.91 an hour in today’s dollars and my part-time jobs working on a Chrysler automobile assembly line in Belvidere (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belvidere_Assembly_Plant) and as a security guard at the University Plaza Dormitory in 1970. The aforesaid enabled me to graduate debt-free from NIU in August of 1970 owning a 1969 Dodge Charger SE.)
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20180315/ISSUE01/180319983
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There was a time when job seekers weighed benefits like medical coverage, retirement accounts and in-office kegerators before accepting an offer. Today, with tens of millions of Americans weighed down by student loan debt, applicants also are judging would-be employers by whether they’ll chip in on those college bill payments. Chicago’s Peanut Butter is there to help companies offer that perk. In 2014, while working as senior director of business development at Sears Holdings, David Aronson, 36, read something that startled him: Most people in their 20s and 30s weren’t making maximum contributions to their 401(k) accounts because their student loan payments – a 2015 college graduate left school owing $34,000 on average – sucked away too much of their disposable income.)

WORLD NET DAILY
— FACEBOOK’S WAR ON ‘CONSERVATIVE’ SITES Joseph Farah on how ‘politically motivated gatekeeper’ manipulates users
http://www.wnd.com/2018/03/facebooks-war-on-conservative-sites/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It is true that what I call “independent media” are facing monumental obstacles intentionally placed in their way by companies like Facebook. But Facebook is hardly alone in this regard. Another big player in the war on independent media is Google. This one has had a more dramatically negative impact on WND. You might not know it, but back in the day when Google gave preference to the most viewed breaking news stories on the internet, WND fared very well. But Google changed its algorithms, too. Today, the Google News page, which regularly featured WND content years ago, is devoid of any. In fact, WND is not even viewed as a legitimate news content provider. Why? It might have something to do with the gatekeepers Google has partnered with to define news. One of them is the Southern Poverty Law Center, a far left-wing money machine that is not southern, doesn’t fight poverty but increases it, scarcely practices law and doesn’t respect it, and an outfit about which the word “center” should never be associated in any way. The SPLC considers me a racist and a hate-monger in its annual reports and regards WND, my creation, no more charitably. When I launched WND, then known as WorldNetDaily, more than 20 years ago, the idea was to use this new level playing field with a low barrier to entry to reinvigorate the American press by returning it to what it was intended to be – an important check on government power and overreach, waste, fraud, abuse and corruption in high places. It worked initially. WND was propelled by audiences to become one of the very top-ranked news sites in the world. That was before Google took over pre-eminence among search engines. Since then, Google has made it a mission to ensure any search traffic that goes our way is an accident. I’m not exaggerating. Google news alerts typically don’t even recognize WND stories until 24 hours after they break. The point here is simple. Is the world better off with more diversity of opinion, more reporting from different viewpoints? Facebook doesn’t think so. Google doesn’t think so. And this Digital Cartel has made part of its mission the stamping out of all meaningful ideological diversity in online media.)

— After 40 Years, the Black-White Labor Force Participation Gap Has All But Closed Fields with high concentrations of African-Americans add jobs quickly, though economic disparities persist – Sharon Nunn (DIERSEN: Who should pay the price of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion? What did your employers do to increase Black labor force participation? My Democrat GAO superiors would stress that they forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors would stress that they did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors would stress that they forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. My aforesaid Democrat superiors would stress that the aforesaid adverse actions that they took against me directly benefited their employees who were Black.)

The Daily Herald reported that Cox attended my July 5, 2003 picnic in the Prairie Path Park in my precinct that I had organized for the residents of my precinct and the residents of Jeanne Ives’ precinct to the east and Debra Olson’s precinct to west. Attendees got to meet the five announced Republican candidates for U.S. Senate – John Cox, Chirinjeev Kathuria, Andy McKenna, Jim Oberweis, and Jack Ryan. Cox brought Jays Potato Chips. Oberweis brought ice cream. The 200+ attendees included now Congressman Randy Hultgren. Jack Ryan won the primary, but withdrew. His replacement, Alan Keyes lost to Barack Obama.)

That’s why it’s vulnerable to a suit by a white man. – Joe Nocera (DIERSEN: My Democrat GAO superiors treated me like they wanted me to file a lawsuit that charged them with political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. They believed that would help them hire and retain young Democrat minorities and young Democrat females. CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Downstate Illinois vote could be primary election key for both parties – Rick Pearson (DIERSEN: In the 2014 Republican Illinois gubernatorial primary, Rauner got 40% of the vote, but together, the other three candidates got 60% of the vote – Dillard got 37%, Brady got 15%, and Rutherford got 8%. Dillard, Brady, and Rutherford ran to the right of Rauner. What if Brady and Rutherford had withdrawn and had thrown their support to Dillard? Why has Rauner gone so strongly negative against Ives? Rauner talks and acts like he wants those in Illinois who reject the traditional family, right to life, immigration, and other planks in the Illinois Republican Party platform to vote for him in the primary election and in the general election. Ever-increasingly, Rauner runs as an anti-conservative and as an anti-Republican.)

Obama, who was a state senator at the time, found himself questioning whether to attempt moving forward or leave politics completely. He continued to set his ambitions higher and planned to run for the U.S. Senate. Episode five of Making Obama dives into the essential next steps Obama had to take to advance his political career. How many of those who share your demographics live in your precinct, in your municipality, in your township/ward, in your county, in Illinois, in America, and in the world? Ever-increasingly, Democrats and Democrat plants, Libertarians and Libertarian plants, Greens and Green plants, and RINOs shout at politicians that members of the following groups are dying off fast and should be dumped: Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German Americans, and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time. To justify their demonizing, denigrating, and condemning me, they hint/imply/argue/shout that I was born with silver spoons in my mouth and that I have always been privileged. They stress that I am a White male and that my ancestors have been in America since the 1840s. They stress that my parents sent me to Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Crete 1953-1961 and then to Hope Lutheran Grade School in Park Forest 1961-1962 to stay with the Missouri Synod. They stress my good health, that is, that I was 1-A for the draft in 1966. They stress that I avoided the draft with four student deferments 1966-1970 and a financial hardship draft deferment 1970-1971. They hint/imply/argue/shout a) that the federal government grossly overpaid, b) that I should not have been promoted in 1972, 1973, 1974, or 1986, and c) that my Civil Service Retirement System pension and federal health, dental, and vision insurance subsidies are much too generous. The federal government has eliminated the Federal Service Entrance Examination which I passed in 1970. IRS and GAO have eliminated passing the CPA examination to get promoted. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979. I passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981. Those who have income over $1 million a year and all 14 of the aforesaid demographics would pay a 45% surtax.)
https://capitolfax.com/2018/03/09/poll-76-percent-support-a-3-percent-surtax-on-millionaires/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There are some areas in which a majority of voters would support increased revenue, starting with the so-called “millionaire’s tax,” which would impose an extra 3 percent levy on income over $1 million, favored by three-quarters [76 percent, 21 oppose, with 57 percent strongly in favor] of respondents in the sample. Nearly as many [72 percent in favor, 24 percent oppose, with 47 percent strongly in favor] would favor a constitutional amendment to allow a graduated income tax, with higher rates for higher earners and lower rates for lower earners. A slight plurality (49 percent favor, 46 percent oppose) would favor legalized gambling in Illinois to raise state revenues [23 percent strongly favor and 28 percent strongly oppose]. Less popular were a sales tax on services [39 percent favor, 58 percent oppose, with 36 percent strongly opposed] and a tax on gasoline to fund highway, road, and bridge improvements [42 percent favor, 57 percent oppose, with 41 percent strongly opposed). A recurring idea is for the state to tax retirement income, such as pensions and social security. This idea is widely unpopular, with 74 percent opposing and only 22 percent in favor. However, in a follow-up question in which only retirement income above $100,000 would be taxed, majorities are in favor. Combining the 22 percent who favored it in the first question with the 52 percent of the 745 initial opponents who would favor it with the exemption, 60 percent of the total sample favor taxing retirement income above $100,000.)

— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Abortion advocates plan to attack Breen.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-dan-lipinski-marie-newman-20180309-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Abortion-rights group Personal PAC plans to start dropping mailers critical of Republican state Rep. Peter Breen of Lombard, an early signal that Democrats could see the seat as a top target in November. Breen is an attorney and leading abortion opponent who helped spearhead the lawsuit challenging Illinois new law expanding access to taxpayer-funded abortions. He is the House GOP floor leader at the Capitol. Personal PAC President Terry Cosgrove said the group is spending money early to take on Breen because the House district he holds is a “moderate” one that went for Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016. Breen doesn’t have a primary opponent but will face Democrat Terra Costa Howard of Glen Ellyn in the fall. “It takes a lot of hard work to get voters to understand what their state representative has been up to,” Cosgrove said. He declined to say how much his PAC plans to spend on the race, but it’s already launched a website critical of Breen. Breen surfaced in the news recently because he wrote a letter to Republican leaders saying GOP House candidate Burt Minor “is not fit to serve” because of “inappropriate” comments that attorney general candidate Erika Harold said he made to her about race and sexual orientation. Breen is a former Lombard official in his second House term. In 2016, he won re-election with more than 56 percent of the vote.)

I would stress that even though I have been a Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) member since 1999 and I have the best record by far for attending MTRCC monthly meetings and fundraisers, those who dominate MTRCC a) have never asked me to serve as a committee chairman or as an officer, b) rudely dumped me as MTRCC webmaster in 2010 and 2004, and c) rudely and overwhelmingly defeated me when I ran for MTRCC Treasurer in 2004. Further, I would stress that a) those who dominated TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois in 2012 rudely dumped me in 2012, b) those who dominated the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce (WCC) in 2011 rudely dumped me in 2011, c) those who dominated the Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) in 2007 rudely dumped me in 2007, d) those who dominated the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) Midwest Chapter (MC) in 2004 rudely dumped me in 2004, and e) those who dominated GAO in 1997 rudely dumped me in 1997. GOVERNING
— Vacancies Aren’t Unique to Trump. States Struggle to Fill Top Positions, Too. When an agency head leaves, some states take years to find a permanent replacement. What takes so long?
http://www.governing.com/topics/mgmt/gov-vacancies-state-government.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There are a number of reasons why it’s difficult to find people to lead government departments. For one, qualified candidates can often make much more money in the private sector. In March 2017, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) compared the total compensation of Medicaid directors to the top managed care executives with whom they often work. In the 10 states examined, the private executives made $314,278, on average, which is more than double Medicaid directors’ average pay of $152,439. Money aside, people who take these jobs have to be willing to withstand constant criticism from within and outside of government. The work is strenuous and finding a work-life balance can seem impossible. Robinson recalls the following comment made to him by a chief information security officer who left his job for the private sector. “He said, ‘Doug, I’ll make twice as much money and I’m going to work half as much. And it’s highly unlikely that my name will be in the front page of the paper.”)

— Ives wants more rights for accusers – Bill Lukitsch (DIERSEN: Have you ever accused anyone of anything? In 1988, when I was 40 years old, I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my employer GAO with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. My Democrat GAO superiors retaliated against me for that a) by throwing me off audits of IRS, b) by giving me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, c) by always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, d) by forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old, and e) by doing everything that they could to stop me from getting a job that would be appropriate for someone with my work experience, education, professional certifications, and professional license. What is Ives’ position on the aforesaid? My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, many of whom read my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails, side with my Democrat GAO superiors against me.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-kwame-raoul-pat-quinn-ag-20180307-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rauner primary challenger state Rep. Jeanne Ives called for a vote on her proposal to expand protections for those who accuse a state lawmaker or employee of ethics violations. “We want this done now,” Ives said at a Tuesday news conference in Springfield. “We don’t want this to sit until the end of May. We want this bill out and on the floor and operable immediately.” The bill says that legislative and executive inspectors general must give certain information to people filing complaints, including a receipt when a complaint is filed, notification of an investigation, a summary of evidence and a report of decisions made during an investigation. It also gives the accuser the right to testify at hearings and would expedite the process if allegations concern sexual harassment. Appearing with Ives was victims right advocate Denise Rotheimer, who in October publicly accused Sen. Silverstein of sexually harassing her through text and social media messages while she was working with him to pass legislation. “Currently, we have no rights,” Rotheimer said. “We need to make this process transparent, we need to make it fair and as just as possible, because complaints like mine are very personal.)

http://www.wrex.com/story/37664196/2018/03/06/illinois-lawmakers-consider-new-rules-for-underage-gambling-stings
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Like a growing number of restaurants and bars around Illinois, Don Carter Lanes in Rockford offers video gaming for customers over the age of 21. “These games have become such an important part of our business model now that we’re doing everything we can to keep minors out,” said Sommer. But Sommer says his best efforts might not be enough in an undercover sting. Under the law, sting operations can send in a minor to a bar or restaurant with video gaming. If the minor plays a machine before a waitress or manager can check their ID, lawmakers say that business could be fined up to $5,000. “By the time they can walk over there and tell the person they have to leave, they could have easily gotten one bet in and that was never the intent,” said Republican Senator Dave Syverson. That’s why Syverson is sponsoring a new bill to protect business owners from what he calls unfair practices.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A spokesperson for HHS told Politico that Cordova has “expressed sincere and deep apology” for the posts. “Mr. Cordova has expressed sincere and deep apology for those statements and for any harm or injury he may have caused to readers of any of his social media posts,” the spokesperson told Politico. “While he continues to work at HHS, Mr. Cordova – along with all department employees – will be expected to demonstrate a full commitment to inclusiveness and respect for all Americans that we serve.” A spokesperson also said the posts were created before Cordova joined the agency and that the agency hasn’t received complaints about Cordova through “usual departmental channels.” Four HHS staffers told the outlet that Cordova was seen at his desk and around the HHS offices. After CNN reported on the posts, Cordova removed the posts from his Twitter page. He joined HHS in February 2017, and in his role oversees day-to-day operations in the Office of Human Relations and other officers within HHS. Multiple Trump administration officials have resigned in the last year following reporting on their past social media posts, including Carl Higbie and William C. Bradford.)
