Because I have always been a Republican, were it not for federal civil service protections, a) the Post Office would NOT have hired me in 1966 or let me work there for almost 3 years, b) IRS would NOT have hired me in 1971 or let me work there for almost 9 years, c) IRS would NOT have promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, d) GAO would NOT have hired me in 1980 or let me work there for almost 18 years, and e) GAO would NOT have promoted me in 1986.)

— It’s getting harder for kids to move up the economic ladder. He’s got ideas how to fix that. – Kate MacArthur  (DIERSEN: If you earn/earned more money than your parents, what are the main reasons for that? Neither of my outstanding parents attended college. My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma, he fought type 1 diabetes from age 14, he died suddenly from heart failure in 1969 when he was 47 and I was 21, and he never earned more than about $40,000 a year in today’s dollars. My mother never attended high school and did not get a job until after my father died. According to my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, I earned more money than my parents because I was born a healthy White male, I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I have always been privileged, I avoided the draft, and the federal government grossly overpaid me.  In my defense, I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/originals/ct-bsi-cmap-lazaro-lopez-20170713-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The percentage of Americans earning more than their parents did at the same age has plunged over the past 50 years, especially in Illinois and other Midwestern states. For Chicago-area residents to improve their ability to move up the economic ladder, we must change our education and employment systems, says Lazaro Lopez, chair of the Illinois Community College Board. He will be a panelist on the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s July 19 forum on the future of economic opportunity. It’s part of an effort to engage community members as the agency prepares to develop its 2050 regional plan.)

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Rauner tops all gov candidates in cash; Pritzker has most among Dems – Mitchell Armentrout
http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/rauner-tops-all-gov-candidates-in-cash-pritzker-has-most-among-dems/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rauner reported $20,639,341.82 in contributions, with the bulk coming from Illinois’ richest man, Ken Griffin, who dumped $20 million into Rauner’s campaign fund in May. That individual contribution was second in size in state history only to the one that Rauner gave himself last December — $50 million. The incumbent’s campaign spent $3,398,395.34 — including a $1.5 million contribution to the Illinois Republican party — and it’s on the hook for $39,625 in other debts and obligations. Rauner also reported $68,221.41 in in-kind contributions. With $67,633,577.05 cash on hand, his war chest dwarfs his Democratic challengers.)
— Dennis Hastert out of Minnesota prison – Jon Seidel
http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/dennis-hastert-out-of-minnesota-prison-bop-records-show/

http://chicago.suntimes.com/opinion/jackson-trumps-cold-hearted-agenda-is-immoral/

DAILY HERALD
— Encourage good media – Lee Hamilton  (DIERSEN: Who manipulates/dominates you?  My critics/opponents focus on having their operatives and their dupes destroy individuals, destroy organizations, destroy companies, destroy governments, and destroy countries that they cannot manipulate/dominate. They want to destroy me because they cannot manipulate/dominate me.  So far, their tremendous efforts to stop me from putting GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails together and sending them out has been unsuccessful.)
http://www.dailyherald.com/discuss/20170718/encourage-good-media

ABC7
— Dennis Hastert released from federal prison in Minnesota – AP  (DIERSEN: GAO works for Congress. All during the time (2000-2005) that Diersen v. GAO (
https://gopillinois.com/documents/) was pending in the federal courts in Chicago, Dennis Hastert was the Speaker of the House, Peter Fitzgerald was my U.S. Senator, and Henry Hyde was my U.S. Representative.  One could conclude a) that because Fitzgerald appointed both the district court judge in the case and the attorney who represented GAO, b) that because GAO never offered to settle, c) that because the district court denied my 7th Amendment rights and granted GAO summary judgment, and d) that because the appellate court upheld that decision, that Hastert, Fitzgerald, and Hyde sided with the Democrats who ran GAO, that is, that Hastert, Fitzgerald, and Hyde favored patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaining about the aforesaid.  Hyde may have tried to help me because in 1989, he intervened for me, and if he had not done that, the Democrats who ran GAO back then might have succeeded in getting rid of me.  My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always sided with the Democrats who ran/run GAO.)

POLITICO
— RAUNER hiring imbroglio – Natasha Korecki (DIERSEN: Who considers you to be “dispensable?” My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes in the following consider me to be dispensable: Milton Township Republican Central Committee, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Center Right Coalition, American Association of Political Consultants, GAO, IRS, Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, Illinois, etc. My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes consider virtually everyone and everything to be dispensable.)
http://www.politico.com/tipsheets/illinois-playbook/2017/07/18/politico-illinois-playbook-rauner-hiring-imbroglio-biss-leads-kennedy-pawar-in-fundraising-its-governor-vs-cps-again-221373
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Takeaway 1: It’s Proft and Illinois Policy Institute’s John Tillman who are key Rauner influencers right now. That’s driven out staffers who resigned in protest of the direction they believe Rauner is headed. Takeaway 2: Rauner has a major political problem on his hands because of how he’s handled his office shift. As evidenced by the former staffer quote above and numerous interviews of our own and reported elsewhere, the governor has obliterated any loyalty and potential confidences once held by many of the people who were the closest to his office and campaign for the last three years. More than one has commented that they feel the governor believes those close to him are “dispensable.” These are people who know where the bodies are buried. That means the drip, drip, drip of tidbits, tips and dirt, involving Rauner will be amped up just as he heads into reelection mode.)

—  Haevers leaves – Rodriguez leaves *** Mahoney is latest top Rauner administration official to resign (DIERSEN: In Illinois, in DuPage County, in Milton Township, in Glen Ellyn, and in Wheaton, when there is news of interest to Illinois Republicans, routinely, Democrat plants, Libertarian plants, Green plants, and RINOs first give that news to the Democrat news media, and especially to Rich Miller. Democrat plants, Libertarian plants, Green plants, and RINOs do not want Illinois Republicans to first learn of anything by reading GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails. Further, when there is news of actions taken by the DuPage County Election Commission (DCEC) that might adversely affect elected DuPage County Republican Precinct Committeemen, Democrats and Democrat plants, Libertarians and Libertarian plants, Greens and Green plants, and RINOs certainly do not want me to know about it. They know that if I was given the names and contact information of those elected DuPage County Republican Precinct Committeemen who are affected by DCEC’s proposed precinct line changes, I would immediately notify them.  Just kidding, but not completely, I ask should I consider forming a “DuPage County Elected Republican Precinct Committeeman Association.” What about politicians who want precinct lines to be changed a) to reward those who pander to them and b) punish those who do not pander to them?)
https://capitolfax.com/2017/07/17/mahoney-is-latest-top-rauner-administration-official-to-resign/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Mike Mahoney, the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs, resigned this morning. I’m told the parting was amicable Here’s Sneed from last week… “The big question: Will Mike Mahoney, the governor’s policy chief, be told to leave? “Mike was the guy who kept the troops together, but the expectation is that there is a lot more to come in the cleaning house department,” a Rauner source said.” It almost goes without saying that this is yet another big loss for the administration. Mahoney was a key player and both House Republican Leader Jim Durkin and Senate GOP Leader Bill Brady reportedly asked the governor to do what he could to keep Mahoney on the payroll. In the end, however, he really had no choice but to leave. I’m told that more resignations are expected as early as today, so stay tuned.  Sources close to the governor’s office confirm that the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Engagement Phil Rodriguez has also resigned. Rodriguez worked for Comptrollers Topinka and Munger and ran both of their campaigns. He’s moving over to the Tollway.  The governor’s body man, Kyle Haevers, has been told his services were no longer needed and was asked to find an agency to move to. His replacement is Ben Tracy, who has already begun traveling with the governor. Kyle was a loyal Raunerite and has been part of Rauner World since 2014 and helped on the Rep. McAuliffe race last fall.)

WALL STREET JOURNAL
— La Raza Finally Loses ‘the Race’  The leftist Chicano outfit rebrands itself as UnidosUS. – Mike Gonzalez  (DIERSEN: To support La Raza, or now UnidosUS, is to shout that you are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America longer than your ancestors.)
https://www.wsj.com/articles/la-raza-finally-loses-the-race-1500229809
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Since its inception in 1968, made possible in part by a grant from the Ford Foundation, La Raza has been far more dependent on boardrooms and government than grass-roots support. But with government largess drying up, the liberal political-advocacy group may find itself needing greater support from the rank and file. This won’t be easy. The nation’s “Hispanics” are undergoing a radical shift that most politicians are missing: A white majority is likely to persist in America. “Many children growing up today in mixed families are integrating into a still largely white mainstream society,” sociologist Richard Alba noted in American Prospect last year. These children are “likely to think of themselves as part of that mainstream, rather than as minorities excluded from it.” The name La Raza—“the race” in Spanish—flies in the face of this reality. It is off-putting to many “Hispanics,” an artificial Census category comprising many razas. The organization’s CEO, Janet Murguia, admitted as much in a video announcing the name change: “We must make sure that our name and our organization evolves along with and remains relevant to our ever changing Hispanic community.” Appealing to a broader swath of this diverse group is necessary now that the “fat years” under President Obama are gone. The Obama Justice Department made a practice of settling lawsuits against corporate defendants by requiring they make large donations to groups like La Raza. It was, in the words of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, “a scheme to funnel money to politically favored special interest groups.” In a letter sent to Attorney General Loretta Lynch in the closing days of the Obama administration, Mr. Goodlatte noted that “in just the last two years, DOJ has directed nearly $1 billion to activist groups, entirely outside of Congress’s spending and oversight authority.” Taxpayer money was flowing into La Raza coffers too. When Cecilia Munoz, a top La Raza lobbyist, joined Mr. Obama’s Domestic Policy Council, federal subsidies for La Raza went from $4.1 million to $11 million a year. And La Raza loyally promoted Mr. Obama’s policies as pro-Latino. You can expect the group to continue agitating on behalf of the Democratic Party. Whether UnidosUS becomes more grass-roots-driven than La Raza remains to be seen. The group’s corporate board of advisers still includes Comcast , AT&T , Bank of America , Chevron , Coca-Cola , Ford, Con-Agra Foods and other Fortune 500 firms. Its more than 260 local affiliates train and mobilize an activist core of community organizers but have only a third of the vote on the board. This week’s name change may be a recognition of an imperfect model. Or it may be nothing more than a marketing ploy. The latter is more likely.)
— Republicans Aren’t Team Players – Fred Barnes  (DIERSEN: Those who hint/imply/argue/shout that I am not a team player focus on destroying those like me who fail/refuse to a) glorify and praise them, b) pander to them, c) serve as one of their operatives or dupes, and/or d) give them money.  I should write a book about those who hint/imply/argue/shout that I am not a team player.)

July 15 Morning Edition

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Are you an elected official?  What is your position on redistricting, that is, what is your position on changes being made to the borders of the political jurisdiction in which you were elected?  Do you want to be notified in a timely manner of any proposed changes to those borders? To you want the opportunity to be able to object to proposed changes in a timely manner?

In DuPage County, elected Precinct Committeemen do not have that opportunity. The DuPage County Election Commission (DCEC) did not post maps of its many proposed changes to many precincts until July 12, 2017 and it will vote on accepting those proposed changes at its July 26, 2017 meeting.  My understanding is that the proposed changes affect about 100,000 voters, an unknown number of polling places, 276 precincts including 101 in Downers Grove Township and 27 in Milton Township, and 60 new precincts would be created including 12 in Downer Grove Township and 6 in Milton Township.

I have asked the DCEC for, but I have not been provided with a) a list of the 276 affected precincts broken out by the 9 townships, b) indication of which of those 276 precincts have elected Precinct Committeemen, and c) their contact information. Each of the elected Precinct Committeemen in those 276 affected precincts should have long since have been provided with a detailed map that precisely shows proposed changes to their precinct down to individual addresses.

Outrageously, most, if not virtually all of the elected Precinct Committeemen affected by the proposed changes have not been individually notified that DCEC has proposed changes to their precinct borders.

I have asked the DCEC to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed changes.  Please join me in this request by emailing and/or by phoning the following: Cathy Terrill – Chairperson at cterrill@dupageco.org and 630-407-5697; James S. Lowe – Vice Chair at jlowe@dupageco.org and 630-407-5699; John J. Boske – Secretary at john.boske@dupageco.org and 630-407-5698; and Joseph H. Sobecki – Executive Director at joseph.sobecki@dupageco.org and 630-407-5614. Sadly, there is no indication that what I have asked for will be done.

To get a rough indication of DCEC’s numerous proposed changes, visit: http://www.dupageco.org/Election/Election_Commission_News/2017/55317/.

I found DCEC’s 2015 “Policy for Precinct Modifications” on DCEC’s website , but I have not yet found DCEC’s 2017 “Policy for Precinct Modifications” on DCEC’s website.

According to several Republican DuPage County Township Party Chairman, the DCEC does not want to deal with individual elected Precinct Committeemen, and therefore, it will only deal with county party chairmen and with township party chairmen concerning proposed changes. Needless-to-say, that is outrageous.  Two years ago, I was not notified in a timely manner of dramatic changes to my Milton Township Precinct 9. Further, it appears that as Democrats flood DuPage County, many changes to many precincts will have to be made every 2 years from now on.

While I worked for the federal government for almost 30 years, my Democrat superiors did everything that they could to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could have used to avoid the adverse employment actions that they took against me.

In my roles as a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 1999 and as your GOPUSA Illinois Editor since 2000, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have done everything that they can to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could use to avoid adverse actions against me.

In my roles as a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, as a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, as a Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster 2000-2004, as an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member 2003-2007, and as an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member 2001-2004, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes did everything that they could to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could have used to avoid adverse actions against me.

If you are an elected Precinct Committeeman like I have been since 2000, you understand my concerns about this. Again, please join me in asking the DCEC to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed changes.  Thanks. – Dave Diersen

— The DuPage County Election Commission (DCEC) has been asked by your GOPUSA Illinois Editor to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed precinct line changes.  Please join me in this request by emailing and/or by phoning the following: Cathy Terrill – Chairperson at
cterrill@dupageco.org and 630-407-5697; James S. Lowe – Vice Chair at jlowe@dupageco.org and 630-407-5699; John J. Boske – Secretary at john.boske@dupageco.org and 630-407-5698; and Joseph H. My understanding is a) that about 100 precincts in Downers Grove Township would be affected by the proposed changes and about 12 new precincts would be added and b) that about 27 precincts in Milton Township would be affected and about 6 new precincts would be added. If you are an elected Precinct Committeeman like I have been since 2000, you understand my concerns about this. – Dave Diersen

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Shock, fears and tears as heads roll in Rauner administration – Michael Sneed (DIERSEN: What if someone concluded that Rauner is striking a more Libertarian tone instead of a more conservative tone?  Conservatives like me do NOT promote dependency on government or charity, redistribution of wealth, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, vices including booze, gambling, and pot, Islam, race or gender based preference giving, age discrimination, diminishment of the First or Second Amendments, etc.)
http://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/govs-house-cleaning-leaves-staff-in-shock-and-it-may-not-be-over/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It was a massacre.  It wasn’t pretty. There was no forewarning; it happened quickly and abruptly. And Sneed hears there is more to come. To wit: While Gov. Bruce Rauner’s press and policy troops were busting their butts during budget negotiations, plans were already afoot to make a hard right politically — clean house and bring in a new team. First up! On Monday morning, Rauner personally ousted his Chief of Staff Richard Goldberg, who was described by his troops as fiercely loyal to the governor and his mission. It would be the only one the governor would personally fire. “Everyone was in shock,” said a Rauner staffer who asked to remain anonymous. “I mean everyone came to work Monday morning. But when we were told Richard [Goldberg] was out, we had a feeling if he could do that to him — who was a leader and fiercely loyal — who wouldn’t they do that to? “Over the next 24 hours everyone was a wreck,” the source added. “Staff fear was at its height. Doors were shut. People were crying. We then watched one person’s head roll after another. When you see a friend you respect who has worked so hard get dismissed just like that, it’s very difficult.”  On Tuesday morning, Rauner’s communications director, Brad Hahn, was fired by Rauner’s new Chief of Staff Kristina Rasmussen — who had served as president of the Illinois Policy Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank. The buckshot: Hahn was calmly told his services were no longer required and was asked to clean out his office before being escorted out of the building. Laurel Patrick, who worked for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is now head of communications. On Tuesday evening, Catherine Kelly, deputy director of communications for Rauner’s administration, was also abruptly fired by Rasmussen. Kelly, however, who was also asked to clean out her office before being escorted out, was in the process of delaying an anticipated move to Texas in August, where her husband had been offered a job with a law firm. Did he see the handwriting on the wall? Lance Trover, the gov’s prickly deputy chief of staff for communications, had given his notice last month. The big question: Will Mike Mahoney, the governor’s policy chief, be told to leave? “Mike was the guy who kept the troops together, but the expectation is that there is a lot more to come in the cleaning house department,” a Rauner source said. “It’s been tough. The morale is bad. People are afraid. It has been a coup d’etat type of environment. The conservative Illinois Policy Institute has taken charge.” Sneed hears Rauner and his wife, Diana, were planning on making these changes earlier — especially in the communications department — but surprised some of their advisers on how quickly they moved to do so. “I knew a few heads would roll, but am told there’s more to come.”)

TMN
— DeSantis introduces bill to provide greater transparency over govt. pensions – Bryan Renbaum  (DIERSEN: Andrzejewski wants to know for federal retires like me: “Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system.” Since 1966, when I was 18 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for earning credits toward a Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension. Since 1997, when I was 49 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for collecting a $50,856 CSRS pension in today’s dollars.  While I worked part-time for the Post Office 1966-1969, for IRS 1971-1980, and for GAO 1980-1997, I paid into the CSRS $70,932 in yesterday’s dollars (7% of my salary). In today’s dollars, my ending GAO salary was $122,991. So far, in today’s dollars, CSRS has paid me $1,008,644 (238 months X $4,238). Andrzejewski should acknowledge that if my Democrat GAO superiors had not been allowed/encouraged to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997, I might still be working for GAO, still paying 7% of my salary into the CSRS, and CSRS would not have paid me anything. I should write a book about those who allowed/encouraged my Democrats GAO superiors to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997.  They certainly did not side with me in Diersen v. GAO.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) told TMN Wednesday that today he will formally introduce legislation aimed at providing greater transparency over government-funded pensions. “Let’s open the books on the federal pension data. Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being spent and let’s just put that information out there for public consumption,” DeSantis said. “It’s very difficult, I think, to be opposed to that concept and so I think we’ll probably get pretty strong support,” he added. The Taxpayer-Funded Pension Disclosure Act of 2017 will be reviewed by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of the Illinois-based nonprofit taxpayer watchdog group Open the Books, spoke alongside DeSantis and said his organization worked with the congressman’s office for three months to help craft the legislation. Andrzejewski said passage of the measure would constitute a landmark victory for transparency advocates. “For the first time it would make subject to the Freedom of Information Act the release of: Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system – so we can finally bring hard data to the issues of pensions,” he explained. Andrzejewski said research by Moodys suggests that taxpayers on average foot the bill for about $150 billion per year in federal pension funds and that the number increases to about $3.5 trillion when unfunded liabilities are considered. “The amount of money that goes out in terms of retirement annuities each year dwarfs the budget of the state of Texas or dwarfs the budget in the state of Florida each year,” he explained.)
