— Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. Illinois Republicans anxiously await the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) a) to issue a detailed press release on its State Convention and b) to post on its website its new platform and its 12 new resolutions. Those who dominate the IRP oppose direct election of IRP State Central Committee (SCC) members, oppose Dean White, and oppose conservative principles. Anticipate/expect that those who dominate the IRP will not only ignore/dismiss/belittle the party’s new platform and resolutions, they will get rid of IRP SCC members, county party leaders, township/ward party leaders, precinct committeemen/captains, voters, and everyone else a) who want direct election of IRP SCC members, who support Dean White, and/or who promote conservative principles. Conservatives overwhelmingly want direct election of IRP SCC members. Who were the IRP State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee members who stated that they are conservative but voted against direct election? I have promoted direct election of IRP SCC members and conservative principles, that is, the Republican Party platform, big time since 2000. Since 2000, party leaders who oppose direct election of IRP SCC members and/or oppose conservative principles have taken many big adverse actions against me because of that. — Getting your own house in order. Some people came to Collinsville to the Illinois Republican Party Convention to limit grassroots Republicans voice and influence in the party. Others came to take selfies and pump up the appearance of their influence. Others cut deals to acquire positions and titles to benefit themselves. Daniel R. Zahm and I attended the Convention laser-focused on supporting policies and people who would represent grassroots conservative values and real reform for the Republican Party. After witnessing Committee Reports that had predetermined outcomes, and little substantive debate and discussion, we doubled down on our efforts promoting a great grassroots conservative leader Dean R. White – Illinois Republican State Central Committee. Insider party bosses like Laura Pollastrini and Larry Smith fought tooth and nail to defeat Dean. They supported and used rules and technicalities to make the process of overturning the National Committeeman-National Committeewoman vote of 10 people for Mark Shaw carry the weight over 494 Delegates nearly impossible. We would not stand for it and took the route of defeating the Committee report on the floor since they would not allow us to have a new vote on the floor between Shaw and White. In the end we succeeded. It was a team effort bringing together a group of just over 300 delegates who would not waver in the face of threats, demands, and insults. One HUGE victory. But many more to go. Many more stories to share. Patriots to thank. Bad actors to call out. But let’s start with this one right here. (Photo with Dean right after the victory).

(FROM THE ARTICLE: This state convention was the most shamefully rigged and disrespectful to the Republican rank-and-file I’ve seen yet in the nearly 30 years I’ve been paying attention to this stuff. And I have always been the first to acknowledge there were certainly problems when I was the state party’s lawyer 25 years ago. But I learn from experience and when I see things are infinitely worse today, I work for meaningful positive change. I don’t double-down on a failed system which the average 5-year old can see has been a catastrophic disaster for the Illinois GOP. Unfortunately, that is not yet an attitude universally shared. And we’re now to the point where dishonesty, self-dealing and unprofessionalism are officially off the charts. And it all centers around a desperate desire by the pooh-bahs to keep the rank-and-file disenfranchised and voiceless in their own state party. The lengths some on the state central committee (SCC) and their bootlicks have been willing to go to keep Republicans from having a vote again has a lot of people scratching their heads. . .Meanwhile, my strong hunch is that the party pooh-bahs are taking no positive lessons from the clock-cleaning regular Republicans delivered on Saturday. If anything, the pooh-bahs are kicking themselves for leaving even a crack in the door which allowed the Republican rank-and-file to have ANY voice at this convention. They aren’t planning to loosen the rules, they’re surely planning to make them even MORE restrictive next time. Not sure that would even be possible, but if there is a way to further squelch the voice of their constituents, I’m sure they’ll find it. It’s about all they do. Anyone who still doesn’t understand why our vote must be restored for our state party’s central committee, the governing board, really needs to do us all a favor and find a new hobby. I mean come on, seriously, no one can truly be that oblivious.)
