Without their long time leader the DuPage GOP quickly fragmented into the nine individual township organizations who learned to fend for themselves. Surely both played a role, however one feature absent over the decline of the DuPage party was its massive and systematic outreach during its peak. The county GOP sent a quarterly newsletter to each and every voter. A substantial portion of what was raised every year and at massive events (like the one where Nancy Louise met Pate) went to their distribution. These efforts helped to educate all voters and especially newer ones to see why conservative governance was essential first at the local level, then at the state level.
