NEW YORK TIMES
— Where Machismo Is Entrenched, Focus Moves to the Trenches – PAULINA VILLEGAS  (DIERSEN: I should write a book about anti-Americans in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois who viciously demonize, viciously denigrate, and viciously condemn as being racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things those who do not glorify and praise and pander to Mexico and its citizens. They talk and act like they are paid agents for Mexican drug lords.)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/23/world/americas/where-machismo-is-entrenched-focus-moves-to-the-trenches.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Machismo has long been widespread in Mexican society. Male entitlement — reflected in telenovelas, movies, work settings, families and romantic relationships — has been tolerated, even celebrated. But times are changing for the Mexican macho man, or “machista.” Soaring crime rates against women in recent years, and a strengthening women’s rights movement, have forced Mexicans to begin addressing machismo and the harm it does through sexism, misogyny and violence. The effort got a boost on International Women’s Day last month, when President Enrique Peña Nieto called on Mexico “to launch a frontal assault against all expressions of machismo.” He urged the eradication of “a deeply rooted machista culture,” one that “ultimately and truly generates violence against women.” While women’s rights advocates view the public acknowledgment of the problem — as well as some political and legislative gains for women — as a good start, they are skeptical about societal change. They say that can happen only by confronting the entrenched ideas fueling machismo.)
— Resilience of the Resistance – Charles M. Blow  (DIERSEN: Anti-Trumps are confident that they will succeed in destroying not only Trump and his supporters, but that they will also succeed in destroying all individuals, organizations, companies, governments, and countries that are Protestant, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.  That is a major reason why members of the aforesaid groups have purchased a tremendous amount of firearms and ammunition for their self-defense.)
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/24/opinion/resilience-of-the-resistance-donald-trump.html
— Alisyn Camerota Accuses Roger Ailes of Harassment at Fox News – LIAM STACK  (DIERSEN: I led a group that succeeded in forcing Comcast to start carrying Fox News Channel in Wheaton other western suburbs in 2002.  Fox News Channel employees in Chicago told me that Ailes was fully aware of my efforts and fully supported my efforts.  Of course, to this day, members of the following groups in Wheaton vehemently hate me for bringing Fox News Channel to Wheaton on cable: anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders (except Bill Clinton), and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America longer than their ancestors.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Please join me in encouraging the 18 members of the DuPage County Board to pass a resolution ASAP in opposition to legalizing pot for recreational use in Illinois, SB 316 and HB 2353, and especially the 12 members of its Judicial & Public Safety Committee: Grant Eckhoff, Chair, Robert L. Larsen, Vice Chair, John Curran, Peter DiCianni, Amy L. Grant, Gary Grasso, James D. Healy, Tonia Khouri, Sean T. Noonan, Donald E. Puchalski, Sam Tornatore, and James F. Zay.  The next meeting of that committee is at 8:15 AM, Tuesday, May 2, 2017. I have asked that recommending passing a resolution in opposition to SB 316 and HB 2353 be put on the agenda for that meeting, that DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin speak at that meeting in favor of the resolution, and that the committee would vote at that meeting to recommend that the full board pass the resolution. Berlin has filed a witness slip with the State of Illinois in opposition to SB 316 and HB 2353 along with Anita Bedell, Peter Bensinger, Judy Kramer, Ralph Rivera, Kathleen Valente, Thomas Weitzel, myself, and others. – Dave Diersen

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-visa-worker-program-trump-edit-0421-md-20170420-story.html
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: These visas are intended for use by employers when they can’t find a qualified U.S. worker to hire. Ideally, the American education system would churn out enough qualified graduates in the science/technology/engineering/math realm to fill every possible job slot. Why that’s not the case is a conversation for another day. But even if it were so, there’s reason to give employers opportunities to hire a certain number of exceptional foreigners who bring unique abilities to the table.)

The punch sparked a 17-second melee that rolled through the crowd watching the game between rivals Eisenhower and MacArthur high schools. After untangling the mess, Decatur school board members, riding the popularity of zero tolerance, expelled Carson and five other instigators — all African-American teenagers — for two years. GOPUSA
— Hypocrisy in the Anti-O’Reilly Army – Brent Bozell and Tim Graham
http://www.gopusa.com/?p=23333
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Fox News took Bill O’Reilly off the air after a heavy campaign to fire him led by CNN’s media unit and The New York Times. If all the charges of sexual harassment are true, his case is indefensible. That said, it’s time for his media critics to stand down. They are guilty of rank hypocrisy. These same media outlets despised the idea that Donald Trump would drag Bill Clinton’s sexual harassment lawsuits into the presidential campaign. On Jan. 8, 2016, the Times editorial staff sneered: “It is also a tired subject that few Americans want to hear more about. If Mr. Trump has not read enough, he can curl up with a copy of the Starr report.”  Bizarrely, the editorial noted that Hillary Clinton had told a New Hampshire town hall questioner a month earlier that Juanita Broaddrick’s tale of rape was not to be believed. Yet it was Trump who was denounced as sexist and beyond the pale. The Times said: “His aim is to dredge up an ancient scandal and tar Mrs. Clinton with it in a clearly sexist fashion. There should be no place for that kind of politics in this country.” That is, unless it’s the top draw at Fox News, in which case it’s suddenly America’s greatest concern. On April 2, 2017, the Times published a 3,148-word front-page article lamenting “O’Reilly Thrives as Settlements Add Up.” Reporters Emily Steel and Michael Schmidt declared that their investigation found five women who received payouts from either O’Reilly or Fox “in exchange for agreeing to not pursue litigation or speak about their accusations against him. The agreements totaled about $13 million.” As they noted, the lion’s share of that total came in a $9 million settlement from 2004. That was 13 years ago, but it didn’t qualify as a “tired subject” or some “ancient scandal.” CNN relentlessly pushed for O’Reilly’s dismissal, calling up advertisers and pressuring them to take commercials off their competition. Bashing O’Reilly dominated their Sunday show “Reliable Sources” for weeks and their “news” programming after their victory. But two days after the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke in 1998, CNN aired a town hall meeting titled “Investigating the President: Media Madness?” Host Jeff Greenfield insisted that millions of Americans were “asking the press one question fraught with significance: What the hell are you people doing trying to find out what kind of sex the President of the United States might or might not be having?” Back then, it was “media madness” to investigate whether then-President Bill Clinton might be assaulting women in the workplace — the Oval Office. There was zero concern about a “culture of abuse” inside the White House. For good measure, CNN moved on to specials attacking special prosecutor Ken Starr for prudishly investigating where CNN and the rest of the press never wanted to go. It’s not only CNN and the Times that are displaying a different moral standard. Does no one find it just a wee bit ironic that disgraced Brian Williams is still doing a weeknight show on MSNBC, where he can lecture that O’Reilly was dispatched by “the power of the female consumer”? Women deserve a workplace where men don’t harass them for sex. But that’s what these sanctimonious liberal journalists care about. It just doesn’t matter how brutal the alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick was. What matters is that Bill O’Reilly had to go. Bill Clinton is laughing.)

CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN NEWS
— LOIS LERNER SHOULD BE IN JAIL – Kent Kellar  (DIERSEN: One could argue that my Democrat superiors in the federal government should be in jail, but they would say that they only carried out orders from Democrat politicians. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims.  My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests.)
http://conservativerepublicannews.com/2017/04/20/lois-lerner-should-be-in-jail/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: From Feb. 2010 until May 2012 the IRS showed Americans exactly what the weaponization of executive agencies looks like when the Obama administration directly targeted the tea party and other conservative 501(c)(4) groups for political reasons. Now over three years later, justice still has not been served. Luckily, Congressman Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) and Kevin Brady (R-Texas) are seeking closure for the American people to eliminate the corruption Obama left in our country. In a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions this month, Roskam and Brady explain, “On April 9, 2014, the House Committee on Ways and Means voted to send a letter to the Department of Justice referring former IRS Exempt Organizations Division Director Lois G. Lerner for criminal prosecution… Despite this fact, and for what many believe were purely partisan reasons, the prior administration refused to review Ms. Lerner’s misconduct.” The congressmen are calling for an investigation once again to finally hold the IRS accountable for their actions.)

— Lawmakers Want to Put POT SHOPS in Your Neighborhood – Kathy Valente  (DIERSEN: Please join me in filing an opposition witness slip and in attending the hearing at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in room C-600, 6th Floor Michael A. Bilandic Building, 160 North LaSalle Street, Chicago. Please phone me at 630-653-0462 if you have any questions.)
https://illinoisfamily.org/uncategorized/lawmakers-want-put-pot-shops-neighborhood/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Illinois State Senator Heather Steans (D-Chicago) and Illinois State Representative Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) believe that legalizing marijuana for recreational use will be good for Illinois so they have introduced SB 316 and HB 2353 and, as part of the public relations push, formed the Coalition for a Safer Illinois. Yes, Safer. It’s hard to imagine how adding more drugged drivers on the roads and putting more drugs into the hands of our children could possibly make Illinois safer. The bills before the General Assembly would legalize the possession of up to 28 grams of marijuana and allow facilities to sell marijuana products for adults over 21 and tax and regulate those sales “in a manner similar to alcohol.” “Safer?”  Hardly.  We just have to look to the examples of Colorado and Washington State to see the consequences.  Both states legalized marijuana for recreational use in 2013 and 2012 respectively. Colorado now has more pot shops than Starbucks and McDonald’s combined. . .You, too, can help! Call your state representative today and urge him/her to oppose any attempts to legalize or decriminalize marijuana. CLICK HERE. Your rep will be listed as the last entry on the page, once you fill in your zip code and address. Simply click on his/her name. You may also want to fill out an opposition slip to this bill. The proponents are. A hearing is being held (AT NOON) on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. It’s easy if you follow these steps.)

http://www.jsonline.com/story/opinion/nation-now/2017/04/17/liberals-went-off-deep-end-immigration-column/100548156/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It is hard to have the same feelings, though, toward the 40% of undocumented immigrants who came here on a plane, willfully overstayed their tourist visas, then hunkered down and waited for the next round of legalization. And I have some animus toward our dysfunctional immigration system that punishes (by deportation) undocumented immigrants but completely lets off the hook their partners-in-law-breaking, the businesses and individuals that have used their cheap labor over the years. Fact is, if E-verify had been strictly enforced all these years, Trump’s proposed wall would have been rendered unnecessary.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A new expense filing reveals how Gov. Bruce Rauner’s campaign is investing heavily in an online mapping technology aimed at influencing voters — and potentially elected officials. The filing shows the Rauner camp’s biggest recent expenditure — more than $338,000 — went to a New York-based company called Project Applecart. (See Rauner’s filing). http://www.wkow.com/story/35158969/professor-sues-wal-mart-over-clean-toilets-description
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A Montana State University professor is suing Wal-Mart for libel after he says an employee at the Bozeman store listed his occupation on a fishing license as a “toilet cleaner.” Gilbert Kalonde, assistant professor of technology education at MSU, filed the suit this past week in Gallatin County District Court. Kalonde is seeking unspecified damages. Wal-Mart spokesman Ragan Dickens told The Associated Press: “To our knowledge an administrative process to resolve this with Dr. Kalonde is ongoing. We’ve not been served with the lawsuit, but we take the claims seriously and will respond appropriately with the court.” According to the complaint, Kalonde bought a state fishing license in April 2015, showing the Wal-Mart employee identification of his employment at MSU. But the Wal-Mart employee entered “clean toilets” into the state database as Kalonde’s occupation. The suit contends Wal-Mart exposed Kalonde to “hatred, contempt, ridicule” through the incident.)

NBC5
— VERY SAD: Protesters Gather in Chicago, Calling on Trump to Release Tax Returns  (DIERSEN: In 1977, in connection with Money Magazine doing a “One Person’s Finances” article on me, I gave Money Magazine copies of my 1972-1976 federal income tax returns. When Money Magazine published its 4-page article on me in its February, 1978 issue, it because clear that the Democrats at Money Magazine selected me for the article because they wanted to and because they did a) foist negative government employee stereotypes on me and b) paint my education deductions as being improper.  They described my job duties as an IRS Revenue Officer and the graduate business courses at Loyola and the graduate accounting courses at DePaul that I had deducted purposely to make it look like the courses did not relate to my job duties and they did not help me carry out my job duties. They implied that the courses qualified me for “a new trade or business” and that I took the courses to get a job in the private sector.  The Democrats at IRS disallowed all the courses notwithstanding the fact that IRS encourages its Revenue Offices to take graduate business and accounting courses and my Loyola and DePaul graduate school applications clearly showed that I wanted to take the courses to help me carry out my job duties at IRS.  I took IRS to Tax Court pro se and won a split decision.  The Democrats at Money Magazine and the Democrats at IRS would not have done the aforesaid to me if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, and/or a veteran.)

— Naperville taxpayers deserve an explanation for nature center flooding – Editorial  (DIERSEN: What factors increase the likelihood of your basement flooding? Factors for 915 Cove Court in Wheaton include the subdivision being built in a watershed area and a former septic field, the tremendous amount of surface and subsurface storm water that flows onto the lot during and after heavy rains, the inadequate number of storm sewer inlets in the subdivision, the disruption, obstruction, and improper connection of 6″ and 4″ subterranean drainage lines when the home was built, the pouring the foundation walls on cracked footings, the improper installation and intentional blockage of exterior foundation footing tiles, the installation of only one sump pump when there should have been two or even three or even four, the many long and wide cracks in the basement floor, and the fact that all the storm water that gets into the storm sewer system on the lot is limited to the capacity of just one 4″ pipe.  What factors decrease the likelihood of your basement flooding?  For 915 Cove Court, they include the installation of steel reinforcement rods in foundation walls, the installation of interior footing tiles, my paying $900 when the home was built in 1984 to have all nine of the home’s downspouts directly connected to Wheaton’s storm sewer system, my installing a backup sump pump, my unobstructed and properly connecting the aforesaid subterranean drainage lines to Wheaton’s storm sewer system, my paying for unobstruction (the removal of stones) from some of the exterior footing tiles, my adding hundreds of feet of French drains and many storm sewer inlets on the lot and connecting them directly to Wheaton’s storm sewer system, my properly sealing the many long and wide cracks in the basement floor, my paying for conversion to an overhead sewer system before the basement was finished in 2005, and my paying for a 20-W whole house natural gas backup electric generator for the home.  Since 1984, because of Wheaton’s failure/refusal to assure that building codes were enforced when the subdivision was constructed and 915 Cove Court was built, I have been forced to spend many thousands of dollars and many hundreds of hours of my labor to stop basement flooding.)

— CPS retirement incentive plan fails to draw desired number of participants – Juan Perez Jr.  (DIERSEN: GAO’s early retirement “offer” ended September 30, 1997.  My Democrat GAO superiors thought that I would take their “offer” because they had ranked me in the lower half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes since 1989, they had not promoted me beyond GS-13, they had kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 years (1986-1988) of the almost 18 years that I had worked for GAO, and they had forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  As they came to realize that I was not going to take their “offer,” they increasingly made it clear that they would kill me figuratively, if not literally, if I did not take their “offer.”)

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170412/entlife/304129823/
(FROM THJE ARTICLE: Embattled Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly, who announced he was going on vacation starting Wednesday and returning April 24, hasn’t taken off this much time consecutively in March or April for at least 10 years, an examination of his show’s transcripts revealed. O’Reilly said he likes to take vacation around this time and that he booked this year’s break months ago. That would appear to stave off stories that the cable host had been pressured to make himself scarce for a while. His show has seen an advertiser exodus since reports emerged of settlements reached with five women to keep quiet about harassment accusations.)
