All during the almost 30 years that I worked for the federal government, my superiors were under tremendous pressure from Democrat politicians to get rid of their employees who were Republican, and especially those who were White, male, older, and/or non-veteran. In 1997, when I was 49 years old, my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing me to take their early retirement “offer.” In 1987, my Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in forcing my GAO mentor to retire; he had hired me in 1980, got me assigned to audits of IRS in 1986, and promoted me to GS-13, currently $102,188/year in 1986. In 1981, Charles Bowsher took over GAO and ran it for the next 15 years. Under Bowsher, GAO shrank dramatically and is now just a shell of what it once was. I suffered a 21% ($20,361/year) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. In 1975, my Democrat IRS superiors succeeded in forcing my IRS mentor to transfer to Texas; he had promoted me to GS-9 in 1972, to GS-11 in 1973, and to GS-12, currently $85,935/year, in 1974. Republican losses in Illinois, DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton increased dramatically since I a) became a Republican Precinct Committeeman in 1999, b) served as the Milton Township Republican Organization webmaster 2000-2004 and 2008-2010, c) served as an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering member 2003-2007, d) served as a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, e) served as the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, and f) raised funds from DuPage Republicans 2005-2019 so that DuPage Republicans could help sponsor Wheaton’s Independence Day parades and fireworks. Ever-increasingly those who move into my precinct are Democrats. My wife and I have fertility problems serious enough to stop us from having children.)
