Those emails have included links to almost 285,600 articles and information on many upcoming Republican events. What do you say to those who “punish” me by not sending me their press advisories and press releases a) because I refuse to serve as one or their operatives or dupes, b) because I refuse to carry out their backlist orders, c) because I have included links in GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails to articles that they do not like, d) because I have failed/refused to give them money, e) because they blame me for their problems, for your problems, for my problems, and for everyone’s problems, f) because I am “too conservative,” g) because they want to curry favor with my competitors, Rich Miller, and/or the rest of the Democrat news media in Illinois, and/or h) because they focus on destroying individuals like me, organizations like TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, companies, and governments that they cannot manipulate/dominate? They do not want me a) to know about or promote their public events and other public activities, b) to attend their events, and c) to report on their public events and other activities. They do not want anyone to first learn of anything by reading GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails. They want you to only know what they want you to know. They paint me as being illegitimate if not worse things a) because I sent out GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails free of charge, b) because the emails do not contain any advertising, c) because no one pays me for what I do as your GOPUSA Illinois Editor, d) because I do not have a college degree in journalism, and/or e) because I state that I am conservative and Republican. They proudly paint themselves as being anti-Diersen. They do not return my phone calls. They read my emails for “opposition research.” Should I publish a list of the aforesaid punishers? Some of them, if not many of them, talk and act like they want me to do that.)

Quotes in the articles you read are attributed to real people and can be easily verified. — Newspapers work hard to stay away from single source reporting, giving readers context and balance. — Newspaper websites have legitimate URLs ending in .com or .org extensions, listing contact information, the names of staff members and the media organization’s leadership team on the website. — Newspapers correct mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes at times, but there is a big difference between an error and intentionally and knowingly publishing a false report because of some political or social agenda. Spurious websites, blogs and social media do not correct errors. They thrive on them. In the United States newspapers have a long and important legacy of holding the powerful accountable, defending the First Amendment and advocating for government transparency. Democracy is protected when the newspaper provides checks and balances as the Fourth Estate of government from city hall to the courthouse to the statehouse to the White House. Newspapers are committed to the neighborhoods, cities, counties, states and coverage areas they serve. Straightforward news reporting and thought-provoking commentary give a voice to the voiceless and empower the powerless. Newspapers hold government accountable because at our very core we believe that government belongs to the governed and not to the governing. Don’t be embarrassed because you shared some sensational, agenda-driven report on social media only to find out it is totally fake. Get your news where real news has always been found: Your local newspaper, the real deal.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Back in 2012, before he was Governor, before he made Illinois a sanctuary state and legalized taxpayer-funded abortions, millionaire Bruce Rauner was buying up the Illinois GOP like it was a depressed financial asset. Rauner had spent his professional life as a vulture capitalist and he knew the Illinois Republican party could be bought at bargain basement prices. He was openly pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, and had padded the coffers of everyone from Planned Parenthood and the ACLU to the Democrat National Committee. He was besties with Rahm Emanuel and made him a millionaire. Rauner’s ugly history was out in the open like laundry on a clothing line. Some Republicans would have you believe it was a secret. Even Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass, who made his name railing against the Combine, was riding the Rauner train.  In July 2013, he wrote this gushing column, “Illinois Republicans: Get ready for Bruce Rauner, multimillionaire businessman and possible candidate for governor could be just the ticket to take on the status quo, fix broken state.” I’m not kidding. That’s the title of Kass’ column. The equivalent of a sloppy wet journalistic kiss. You can’t pay for that kind of media…or can you? It was official: Bruce Rauner, the Combine millionaire was now Illinois’ newest savior. Today is a different story. In the wake of the political bloodbath of HB40, Rauner’s once merry band of conservative enablers are desperate to rewrite history. All of a sudden, they are pointing the finger at Rauner, calling him a liar, crying that they were “deceived.” This outrage is fake. Republicans who took millions of dollars from Rauner are the ones shrieking the loudest.  In the National Review, political operative Dan Proft lashes out at Rauner’s “radical-left social agenda.” Does that mean Dan will be giving Rauner his $5 million back? By claiming Rauner deceived them on abortion and illegal immigration, Rauner’s shills are lying to voters again. Shamelessly, they are also demanding voters support their hand-picked candidate against Rauner in the GOP primary. Why should anyone believe them after the destruction Rauner has wrought? Or is a ruse designed to help Rauner in this desperate but deep blue state? Suddenly even John Kass is anti-Rauner and he’s pushing his own candidate too. Rauner donated $510,000 to the ACLU in 2012, specifically to fund pro-abortion-related litigation. He named Obama’s former Chief of Staff Bill Daley to his transition team. Since elected, he has continued to fund Planned Parenthood with taxpayer-funded grants.  In 2016, Rauner also signed a bill forcing pro-life doctors and crisis pregnancy groups to promote abortion. He made Illinois a sanctuary state and the day after the bill passed the legislature, Republicans said nothing. Where was the outrage of my fellow conservatives then? Rauner isn’t the liar here. The hacks took his money are. They duped local GOP officials statewide and they duped the voters into supporting Rauner. We need to hold them accountable. I’m relieved local Republican leaders and voters finally know the sad truth about Bruce Rauner. Republicans now have a man at the top of their 2018 ticket who many of them feel betrayed by, some want off the ticket and others say has been politically weakened. Sort of the way it was for Illinois Democrats and their gubernatorial nominee in 2014. Except that Republican Bruce Rauner has a lot more money to throw around to candidates than Democrat Pat Quinn ever dreamed of. So Rauner — who had $67 million in his Citizens for Rauner campaign fund on June 30 — is probably safe. But that doesn’t mean his GOP colleagues are happy with him. Rauner angered many Republicans last week when he signed House Bill 40, which allowed for Medicaid and state health insurance coverage for abortions. “The governor told the House Republicans that he was going to veto this bill, and he did not,” Rep. Bill Mitchell of Forsyth said. “The governor is going to have tremendous trust problems with our caucus. “He said rightly that with this budget we need to cut more. And now he spends taxpayer dollars on abortions.” “I’m still trying to make sense of it, and there’s nothing to make sense of,” Sen. Chapin Rose of Mahomet said. “Look, I’m pro-life, but it’s also about the fact that we’re broke. And if we’re not going to be spending money on things, let’s not be spending money on things. There are a whole lot of other things out there that could probably use some help.” Rep. Brad Halbrook of Shelbyville, who Rauner campaigned for and gave thousands in campaign contributions, said he was “disappointed” by Rauner’s decision. “He had committed to us to veto the bill,” Halbrook said. “This is a pretty big deal. We have a pretty conservative district. The calls, the emails, whatever kind of communication, there have not been many, but there have been a few, and they’re outraged.” But the level of outrage only goes so far. A couple of conservative lawmakers, Sen. Kyle McCarter of Lebanon (“He has disgraced the party and the citizens of Illinois. In my opinion, he should not run for re-election.”) and Rep. Jeannie Ives of Wheaton, suggested a possible primary challenge. But there’s no groundswell. “I think that would be very difficult,” Rose said of a challenge to Rauner. “I’m not willing to make that statement,” Halbrook said when asked if he’d support a contender against Rauner. “I certainly disagreed with his decision, but the attorney general’s race has always been an independent race,” said Erika Harold of Urbana, the Republican candidate for attorney general who is supported by Rauner. “I can’t deal in hypotheticals, but I believe the issues with which I agree with him outweigh those with which I disagree with him.” As Rep. (FROM THE ARTICLE: The recent news that President Trump is cutting back on pay raises for U.S. government employees was just another of many slights to a civil service that has been under siege since Trump launched his campaign pledging to “drain the swamp.”  Whether he and his ideological followers know it, or care, these dedicated professionals are not the swamp. What they are is economists, engineers, intelligence officers, lawyers, park rangers, trade negotiators, and countless others who signed up for government service not to work for one president and his or her policies, but to advance our great nation’s interests. I ought to know.  I joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 2003 to work for an administration whose president I did not vote for and whose policies I often did not support. I did not think twice about doing it; it was fascinating work in service of my country, and in a post-September 11 world when service was celebrated and honorable. But now, I worry that those who would consider government service are thinking twice.  After all, who would want to work for a president who has shown so little regard for the agencies in which they would work and whose supporters, including in the media, rail against a mythical “deep state?” We’re seeing the results of this assault already; Politico reported recently that applications in June for the State Department’s Foreign Service exam, once among the most sought-after opportunities in all of government, fell more than a quarter from the year before. I wonder how many currently in the government want to remain working while constantly being maligned.  Good people are leaving the civil service, not in droves as political appointees do on Inauguration Day, but steadily and surely. Federal government employment has fallen by 11,000 this year, according to the Bureau of Labor statistics, and the administration clearly believes it to be a positive development.  But this drip-drop exodus is draining Washington of the critical expertise and experience necessary to design and execute complex objectives, not of swamp creatures. During the 1990s, due to budget cuts and deprioritization of mission, the CIA lost significant numbers from its ranks; dedicated and talented civil servants who were told they were not needed.  That exodus decimated its institutional capacity, especially in the middle ranks where much of the demanding, technical work of the U.S. government gets done, and from where so many are leaving government now.)

Rep. LaShawn Ford challenged the governor about it. “Let’s make it right today. Can you apologize?” he asked Rauner. Rauner replied,  “Let me be clear, I’m not apologizing for anything that I have nothing to do with.” This Illinois Policy Institute cartoon, which shows a black child asking a fat white man for money, continues to dog Rauner. This afternoon, after signing various criminal justice reform bills with several black lawmakers looking on,the governor had a chance to put the controversy to bed. “Governor, please join us in condemning hate and racism in any form in Illinois,” Ford said. “We in American stand united against racism,” Rauner said. But made no mention of the cartoon. The governor has faced enormous criticism for his response to the drawing which some have called racist. On Tuesday, the governor’s office released a statement saying, “…the governor – as a white male – does not have anything more to add to the discussion.” The governor would distance himself from that statement put out by his office. And overnight, Rauner’s entire communications team departed. “There are four folks who are not with us going forward,” he said. Four staffers were either fired or resigned including the two aides who worked on the “white male” statement. “I believe it was drafted by Diana Rickert and sent out on her e-mail by Laurel Patrick,” he said. (FROM THE ARTICLE: A man described by neighbors as “quarrelsome” and who placed large anti-Trump signs in his yard is in police custody for the murder of his next-door neighbor – a GOP committeeman. Police in West Goshen Township, PA, charged Clayton Carter, 51, in the shooting death of his next-door neighbor, G. Brooks Jennings in the early morning hours on Tuesday, according to ABC Philadelphia. The conflict began on Monday evening when police officers responded to a dispute between Carter and Jennings that involved cursing and video recording in one of their backyards. Police de-escalated the conflict around 8 p.m. and left. Shortly after midnight, police say another conflict erupted between the two neighbors as Carter claims that Jennings shined a light into his eyes. Carter purportedly told police that he then drove his car onto his lawn and shined the car’s high beams towards Jennings. Investigators say it was at this point when Carter went into his home and grabbed a .380 semi-automatic pistol and confronted Jennings. Carter allegedly shot Jennings in the head, knocking him to the ground, and then stood over his body and shot him in the head again. Police say the victim Carter shot Jennings on Jennings property. One neighbor described Jennings, a GOP committeeman, as “the nicest, best guy I’ve ever met in my whole life.” Those same neighbors described Carter, who apparently had a history of conflict with multiple neighbors — including pulling a gun on Jennings in the past — as someone they avoided because of his volatile behavior. “We steered clear of him. We were frightened of him [Carter] because he’s so unpredictable,” another neighbor said speaking about Carter. Neighbors described his front yard as being crowded with cars and anti-Trump signs that he made himself. Many of the conflicts between Carter and his neighbors were apparently not political, but personal. Police charged Carter with multiple crimes including first-degree murder which makes him ineligible for bail in the state of Pennsylvania.)

What would your superiors say that they did to fight inequality?  My Democrat GAO superiors would stress that they forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.  My Democrat IRS superiors would stress that they did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors would stress that they forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.  My aforesaid Democrat superiors would stress that the aforesaid adverse actions that they took against me directly benefited their employees who were poor, and especially their poor employees who were Democrat, minority, female, younger, and/or veteran.)
