— It’s getting harder for kids to move up the economic ladder. He’s got ideas how to fix that. – Kate MacArthur  (DIERSEN: If you earn/earned more money than your parents, what are the main reasons for that? Neither of my outstanding parents attended college. My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma, he fought type 1 diabetes from age 14, he died suddenly from heart failure in 1969 when he was 47 and I was 21, and he never earned more than about $40,000 a year in today’s dollars. My mother never attended high school and did not get a job until after my father died. According to my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, I earned more money than my parents because I was born a healthy White male, I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I have always been privileged, I avoided the draft, and the federal government grossly overpaid me.  In my defense, I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/originals/ct-bsi-cmap-lazaro-lopez-20170713-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The percentage of Americans earning more than their parents did at the same age has plunged over the past 50 years, especially in Illinois and other Midwestern states. For Chicago-area residents to improve their ability to move up the economic ladder, we must change our education and employment systems, says Lazaro Lopez, chair of the Illinois Community College Board. He will be a panelist on the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s July 19 forum on the future of economic opportunity. It’s part of an effort to engage community members as the agency prepares to develop its 2050 regional plan.)

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Rauner tops all gov candidates in cash; Pritzker has most among Dems – Mitchell Armentrout
http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/rauner-tops-all-gov-candidates-in-cash-pritzker-has-most-among-dems/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rauner reported $20,639,341.82 in contributions, with the bulk coming from Illinois’ richest man, Ken Griffin, who dumped $20 million into Rauner’s campaign fund in May. That individual contribution was second in size in state history only to the one that Rauner gave himself last December — $50 million. The incumbent’s campaign spent $3,398,395.34 — including a $1.5 million contribution to the Illinois Republican party — and it’s on the hook for $39,625 in other debts and obligations. Rauner also reported $68,221.41 in in-kind contributions. With $67,633,577.05 cash on hand, his war chest dwarfs his Democratic challengers.)
— Dennis Hastert out of Minnesota prison – Jon Seidel

DAILY HERALD
— Encourage good media – Lee Hamilton  (DIERSEN: Who manipulates/dominates you?  My critics/opponents focus on having their operatives and their dupes destroy individuals, destroy organizations, destroy companies, destroy governments, and destroy countries that they cannot manipulate/dominate. They want to destroy me because they cannot manipulate/dominate me.  So far, their tremendous efforts to stop me from putting GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails together and sending them out has been unsuccessful.)

ABC7
— Dennis Hastert released from federal prison in Minnesota – AP  (DIERSEN: GAO works for Congress. All during the time (2000-2005) that Diersen v. GAO (
https://gopillinois.com/documents/) was pending in the federal courts in Chicago, Dennis Hastert was the Speaker of the House, Peter Fitzgerald was my U.S. Senator, and Henry Hyde was my U.S. Representative.  One could conclude a) that because Fitzgerald appointed both the district court judge in the case and the attorney who represented GAO, b) that because GAO never offered to settle, c) that because the district court denied my 7th Amendment rights and granted GAO summary judgment, and d) that because the appellate court upheld that decision, that Hastert, Fitzgerald, and Hyde sided with the Democrats who ran GAO, that is, that Hastert, Fitzgerald, and Hyde favored patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaining about the aforesaid.  Hyde may have tried to help me because in 1989, he intervened for me, and if he had not done that, the Democrats who ran GAO back then might have succeeded in getting rid of me.  My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always sided with the Democrats who ran/run GAO.)

POLITICO
— RAUNER hiring imbroglio – Natasha Korecki (DIERSEN: Who considers you to be “dispensable?” My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes in the following consider me to be dispensable: Milton Township Republican Central Committee, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Center Right Coalition, American Association of Political Consultants, GAO, IRS, Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, Illinois, etc. My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes consider virtually everyone and everything to be dispensable.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Takeaway 1: It’s Proft and Illinois Policy Institute’s John Tillman who are key Rauner influencers right now. That’s driven out staffers who resigned in protest of the direction they believe Rauner is headed. Takeaway 2: Rauner has a major political problem on his hands because of how he’s handled his office shift. As evidenced by the former staffer quote above and numerous interviews of our own and reported elsewhere, the governor has obliterated any loyalty and potential confidences once held by many of the people who were the closest to his office and campaign for the last three years. More than one has commented that they feel the governor believes those close to him are “dispensable.” These are people who know where the bodies are buried. That means the drip, drip, drip of tidbits, tips and dirt, involving Rauner will be amped up just as he heads into reelection mode.)

The individual in question is no longer an employee of our Administration,” Rauner’s Director of Communications Laurel Patrick said in an email. In several tweets, Tracy used the word f*****. In another he comments on a political story saying “Maybe body slamming reporters is the winning formula for republicans in IL?” The tweets were reposted by @RadicalCandorIL – a parody account that has criticized the governor since the rash of firings began last week.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Some Illinois Republicans are having deja vu, circa 2006. That’s when a divided GOP lost the governor’s race. Treasurer Judy Barr Topinka won the Republican nomination that year to challenge incumbent Democrat Rod Blagojevich. Topinka’s primary was brutal. She bested businessman Ron Gidwitz, dairyman Jim Oberweis and state Sen. Bill Brady. The race was so bitter that Oberweis, now a state senator, balked at endorsing Topinka. Divisiveness persisted into the general election and Topinka, who died a few years later, wasn’t able to convince voters that the party was unified. Fast-forward to Republican lawmakers recently defecting from Gov. Bruce Rauner on the vote to end a budget impasse. That split could have a similar effect on the coming gubernatorial election, according to a few GOP insiders.)

A statement released by the Illinois Republican Party says GOP officials consider him as “a talented leader who understands the political landscape, the state’s critical issues, and the opportunity facing Illinois Republicans in the 2018 election.” Besler’s LinkedIn page indicates he attended Northern Illinois University, worked as a legislative liaison for then-Cook County State’s Attorney Jack O’Malley, and then spent 11 years as director of public relations for Experian, an information services company. At the Illinois Opportunity Project, he worked with Ben Tracy. He is the man who was hired and then immediately fired by Rauner today as his traveling aide or “body man” after reports emerged of racist and homophobic social media posts by him. In an email, Proft confirmed that Tracy did work for the project under him and Besler as “a junior policy analyst” but the neither was aware of his tweets. We don’t use or condone that kind of language. He was wrong to say the things he said and he’s accepted the consequences.” Proft said Besler also worked for the House campaign organization.)

Cabot Phillips, media director of Campus Reform.org, said on “Fox & Friends” the footage is not misrepresented and that a number of students believed socialism to be about “social justice for all [and] equality.” “Sadly, most people my age are being taught that competition is scary because there’s a chance of losing, but we need to make sure that everyone has an equal chance of opportunity, not outcome,” said Phillips. July 15 Morning Edition

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Are you an elected official?  What is your position on redistricting, that is, what is your position on changes being made to the borders of the political jurisdiction in which you were elected?  Do you want to be notified in a timely manner of any proposed changes to those borders? To you want the opportunity to be able to object to proposed changes in a timely manner?

In DuPage County, elected Precinct Committeemen do not have that opportunity. The DuPage County Election Commission (DCEC) did not post maps of its many proposed changes to many precincts until July 12, 2017 and it will vote on accepting those proposed changes at its July 26, 2017 meeting.  My understanding is that the proposed changes affect about 100,000 voters, an unknown number of polling places, 276 precincts including 101 in Downers Grove Township and 27 in Milton Township, and 60 new precincts would be created including 12 in Downer Grove Township and 6 in Milton Township.

I have asked the DCEC for, but I have not been provided with a) a list of the 276 affected precincts broken out by the 9 townships, b) indication of which of those 276 precincts have elected Precinct Committeemen, and c) their contact information. Each of the elected Precinct Committeemen in those 276 affected precincts should have long since have been provided with a detailed map that precisely shows proposed changes to their precinct down to individual addresses.

Outrageously, most, if not virtually all of the elected Precinct Committeemen affected by the proposed changes have not been individually notified that DCEC has proposed changes to their precinct borders.

I have asked the DCEC to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed changes.  Please join me in this request by emailing and/or by phoning the following: Cathy Terrill – Chairperson at cterrill@dupageco.org and 630-407-5697; James S. Lowe – Vice Chair at jlowe@dupageco.org and 630-407-5699; John J. Boske – Secretary at john.boske@dupageco.org and 630-407-5698; and Joseph H. Sobecki – Executive Director at joseph.sobecki@dupageco.org and 630-407-5614. Sadly, there is no indication that what I have asked for will be done.

To get a rough indication of DCEC’s numerous proposed changes, visit: http://www.dupageco.org/Election/Election_Commission_News/2017/55317/.

I found DCEC’s 2015 “Policy for Precinct Modifications” on DCEC’s website , but I have not yet found DCEC’s 2017 “Policy for Precinct Modifications” on DCEC’s website.

According to several Republican DuPage County Township Party Chairman, the DCEC does not want to deal with individual elected Precinct Committeemen, and therefore, it will only deal with county party chairmen and with township party chairmen concerning proposed changes. Needless-to-say, that is outrageous.  Two years ago, I was not notified in a timely manner of dramatic changes to my Milton Township Precinct 9. Further, it appears that as Democrats flood DuPage County, many changes to many precincts will have to be made every 2 years from now on.

While I worked for the federal government for almost 30 years, my Democrat superiors did everything that they could to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could have used to avoid the adverse employment actions that they took against me.

In my roles as a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 1999 and as your GOPUSA Illinois Editor since 2000, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have done everything that they can to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could use to avoid adverse actions against me.

In my roles as a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, as a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, as a Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster 2000-2004, as an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member 2003-2007, and as an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member 2001-2004, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes did everything that they could to delay if not to stop me from getting information that I could have used to avoid adverse actions against me.

If you are an elected Precinct Committeeman like I have been since 2000, you understand my concerns about this. Again, please join me in asking the DCEC to immediately and individually notify by regular mail and by email each and every elected Precinct Committeeman in precincts affected by DCEC’s proposed changes.  Thanks. – Dave Diersen

cterrill@dupageco.org and 630-407-5697; James S. To see the numerous proposed changes, visit: http://www.dupageco.org/Election/Election_Commission_News/2017/55317/.  My understanding is that the DCEC is scheduled to vote on these numerous proposed changes at its July 26, 2017 meeting. My understanding is a) that about 100 precincts in Downers Grove Township would be affected by the proposed changes and about 12 new precincts would be added and b) that about 27 precincts in Milton Township would be affected and about 6 new precincts would be added. If you are an elected Precinct Committeeman like I have been since 2000, you understand my concerns about this. – Dave Diersen

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Shock, fears and tears as heads roll in Rauner administration – Michael Sneed (DIERSEN: What if someone concluded that Rauner is striking a more Libertarian tone instead of a more conservative tone?  Conservatives like me do NOT promote dependency on government or charity, redistribution of wealth, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, vices including booze, gambling, and pot, Islam, race or gender based preference giving, age discrimination, diminishment of the First or Second Amendments, etc.)
http://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/govs-house-cleaning-leaves-staff-in-shock-and-it-may-not-be-over/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: It was a massacre.  It wasn’t pretty. There was no forewarning; it happened quickly and abruptly. And Sneed hears there is more to come. To wit: While Gov. Bruce Rauner’s press and policy troops were busting their butts during budget negotiations, plans were already afoot to make a hard right politically — clean house and bring in a new team. First up! On Monday morning, Rauner personally ousted his Chief of Staff Richard Goldberg, who was described by his troops as fiercely loyal to the governor and his mission. It would be the only one the governor would personally fire. “Everyone was in shock,” said a Rauner staffer who asked to remain anonymous. “I mean everyone came to work Monday morning. But when we were told Richard [Goldberg] was out, we had a feeling if he could do that to him — who was a leader and fiercely loyal — who wouldn’t they do that to? “Over the next 24 hours everyone was a wreck,” the source added. “Staff fear was at its height. Doors were shut. People were crying. We then watched one person’s head roll after another. When you see a friend you respect who has worked so hard get dismissed just like that, it’s very difficult.”  On Tuesday morning, Rauner’s communications director, Brad Hahn, was fired by Rauner’s new Chief of Staff Kristina Rasmussen — who had served as president of the Illinois Policy Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank. The buckshot: Hahn was calmly told his services were no longer required and was asked to clean out his office before being escorted out of the building. Laurel Patrick, who worked for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is now head of communications. On Tuesday evening, Catherine Kelly, deputy director of communications for Rauner’s administration, was also abruptly fired by Rasmussen. Kelly, however, who was also asked to clean out her office before being escorted out, was in the process of delaying an anticipated move to Texas in August, where her husband had been offered a job with a law firm. Did he see the handwriting on the wall? Lance Trover, the gov’s prickly deputy chief of staff for communications, had given his notice last month. The big question: Will Mike Mahoney, the governor’s policy chief, be told to leave? “Mike was the guy who kept the troops together, but the expectation is that there is a lot more to come in the cleaning house department,” a Rauner source said. “It’s been tough. The morale is bad. People are afraid. It has been a coup d’etat type of environment. The conservative Illinois Policy Institute has taken charge.” Sneed hears Rauner and his wife, Diana, were planning on making these changes earlier — especially in the communications department — but surprised some of their advisers on how quickly they moved to do so. “I knew a few heads would roll, but am told there’s more to come.”)

— DeSantis introduces bill to provide greater transparency over govt. pensions – Bryan Renbaum  (DIERSEN: Andrzejewski wants to know for federal retires like me: “Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system.” Since 1966, when I was 18 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for earning credits toward a Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension. Since 1997, when I was 49 years old, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me for collecting a $50,856 CSRS pension in today’s dollars.  While I worked part-time for the Post Office 1966-1969, for IRS 1971-1980, and for GAO 1980-1997, I paid into the CSRS $70,932 in yesterday’s dollars (7% of my salary). In today’s dollars, my ending GAO salary was $122,991. So far, in today’s dollars, CSRS has paid me $1,008,644 (238 months X $4,238). Andrzejewski should acknowledge that if my Democrat GAO superiors had not been allowed/encouraged to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997, I might still be working for GAO, still paying 7% of my salary into the CSRS, and CSRS would not have paid me anything. I should write a book about those who allowed/encouraged my Democrats GAO superiors to force me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997.  They certainly did not side with me in Diersen v. GAO.)
http://www.talkmedianews.com/featured/2017/07/12/desantis-introduces-bill-provide-greater-transparency-govt-pensions/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) told TMN Wednesday that today he will formally introduce legislation aimed at providing greater transparency over government-funded pensions. “Let’s open the books on the federal pension data. Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being spent and let’s just put that information out there for public consumption,” DeSantis said. “It’s very difficult, I think, to be opposed to that concept and so I think we’ll probably get pretty strong support,” he added. The Taxpayer-Funded Pension Disclosure Act of 2017 will be reviewed by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of the Illinois-based nonprofit taxpayer watchdog group Open the Books, spoke alongside DeSantis and said his organization worked with the congressman’s office for three months to help craft the legislation. Andrzejewski said passage of the measure would constitute a landmark victory for transparency advocates. “For the first time it would make subject to the Freedom of Information Act the release of: Who is retired, where they worked, who they are, how much they got, how long they worked, how much they paid into the system – so we can finally bring hard data to the issues of pensions,” he explained. Andrzejewski said research by Moodys suggests that taxpayers on average foot the bill for about $150 billion per year in federal pension funds and that the number increases to about $3.5 trillion when unfunded liabilities are considered. “The amount of money that goes out in terms of retirement annuities each year dwarfs the budget of the state of Texas or dwarfs the budget in the state of Florida each year,” he explained.)

— Illinois taxpayers foot the bill for legislators — even after they retire – Roger Kempa, Darien  (DIERSEN: In my defense, my $50,856 Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension is only 41% of my ending GS-13 Step 10 salary of $122,991 in today’s dollars. The federal government subsidizes $17,288 (75%) of my and my wife’s health, dental, and vision insurance, but we have to pay $5,763 (25%). My Social Security is only $2,028 because I get a CSRS pension. Federal COLAs are far less than inflation.  My CSRS pension has been, is, and will forever be dramatically reduced because my Democrat superiors in the federal government wasted my career. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to take their early retirement offer in 1997 when I was 49 years old, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/letters/ct-illinois-taxpayers-legislators-retire-pension-radogno-20170711-story.html
(FROM THE LETTER: This is in response to a Monday letter to the editor “Farewell, Sen. Radogno.” Former state Sen. Christine Radogno will be with the taxpayers of Illinois for many decades to come. She can expect to receive pension payments totaling more than $2.3 million during her retirement. Her final salary of more than $95,000 results in an estimated first-year pension of more than $81,000. That payment increases by 3 percent annually, thanks to the ill-conceived General Assembly Retirement System. Dozens of Illinois legislators have said “no” to their pensions. Radogno said “yes,” as if it were an entitlement. Folks retiring on their Social Security pension are much less fortunate. Someone retiring at age 65 would receive only around $35,340 per year, or 37.2 percent of a $95,000 salary (if he or she is married) or otherwise $23,621 per year, which is 24.9 percent of a $95,000 salary. Meanwhile, Radogno’s first-year estimated pension represents 85.3 percent of her salary. Retired Illinois legislators with four or more years of service have their insurance for health care, prescriptions and vision care subsidized. Generous Illinois taxpayers foot the bill for those benefits and their annual pensions! And none of those pensions are subject to Illinois taxation. Illinois taxpayers will be watching Radogno’s replacement. He or she should start by setting a good example: refusing a taxpayer-paid GARS pension and insurance for health care, prescriptions and vision care. Since all folks receiving a pension in Illinois are not subject to Illinois income tax, an income cap needs to be established, say $60,000 as an example. Anything above that cap would be taxed. It is a matter of fairness, and equity, toward paying the $5 billion, 32 percent income tax increase. How about it Illinois state legislators?)

(FROM THE LETTER: I am very disappointed in the article by Marie Wilson alleging the Township Road District merger between Naperville Township and Lisle Township is proving difficult. As a former candidate for Township Trustee I am pretty familiar with the course of events leading up to the referendum. What Marie fails to mention (and it is critically important) is that the initial proposal by the Township and City of Naperville was to have Naperville’s street department take over the Township roads. That would have been the optimum deal and saved the most money. However, the vested interest (Republicans, no less) rose up to stop the loss of their generous pay and benefits. It was only after the Township Supervisor, at that time, cut their budget and forced the road district to strike a deal with Lisle Township. For the new regime at the Naperville Township Road District to cry it’s too difficult to effect the merger is disingenuous at best. They are simply angling to restore their overly generous pay and benefits; and the article by Marie Wilson plays right into their hands.)

I have been the Republican Committeeman for DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 9 since 1999.)
http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2017/07/thorner-schlaflys-most-powerful-office-in-the-world.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Donald Trump is the most powerful man in the world, so technically, the U.S. Presidency is the “Most Powerful Office in the World.”  But what if you were told of another public office that (ultimately) chooses who will be President and virtually every other elected official in the U. S.?  If that were true, wouldn’t that office (ultimately) be the “Most Powerful Office in the World”? Conservatives take pride in their knowledge of the Constitution and the outward forms of American Government. Many can quote the Founding Fathers, such as, “The least governed are the best governed” (Jefferson) and “Government is like fire, a useful servant but a deadly master” (George Washington), etc., but the bottom line is, many conservatives know next to nothing about the real system of American government, which isn’t the fairy tale that has been taught in school and colleges over the past few decades. If you are tired of seeing things continue to go down the drain, it is essential that you understand how liberals dominate our government.  Madigan’s budget deal was the straw that broke camel’s back for many conservatives. What might be done to salvage Illinois after ten Republicans joined Madigan and 60 other Democrats in voting for a permanent, 32 percent income tax increase and 33 percent corporate tax hike, when Illinois residents already shoulder the heaviest local and state tax burden in the country? Irresponsible is that a three-fifths majority of state lawmakers, including Republicans, sold out their constituencies to reward the special interest groups (public employee unions, trial lawyers and other political insiders) that have been paying to keep them in office for decades. Understanding the seven laws of American government, set forth in an essay by Phyllis Schlafly in the early 90’s — The Most Powerful Office in The World Is NOT The President of the United States! — is essential to change Illinois from a failed state to one that will live up to its potential, where people feel proud to live and work and where businesses can grow and prosper.  The lack of good people at the grass roots is why we get so many bad apples that call themselves “Republicans”. E-mail Andy Schlafly to order copies of Phyllis Schlafly’s article. Phyllis Schlafly (August 15, 1924 – September 5, 2016) was a founding member of the modern conservative movement. She was described by the New York Times as the “one of the most relentless and accomplished platform debaters of any gender to be found on any side of any issue.”  Following are excerpts from Phyllis’ article, which is as powerful today as it was back in the early 90’s: . . . Therefore, Precinct Committeeman is the most powerful office in the world because Precinct Committeemen determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of government. Remember, if your candidate is not on the ballot, he will not be elected.)

The nearly 100 entries included the outstanding Lakeside Lutheran High School Marching Band. Republicans who participated in the parade were: DuPage State’s Attorney Bob Berlin; DuPage County District 4 officials Grant Eckhoff, Tim Elliott, Amy Grant, and Tim Whelan; James Mendrick for DuPage Sheriff; Frank Bibbianno for DuPage Sheriff; Karen Wilson for DuPage Judge; and the Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC).  Republicans who walked with entries included Ron Almiron, Lori Carlson, Joseph Caruso, Flo Dangelo, Sal Falbo, Chris Heidorn, Pat Hinchey, Marty Keller, Larry LaVanway, Antonio Lollino, Paula McGowen, Ron Menna, David Norck, Thommen Poozhikunnel, Mary Rash, Pat Ryan, and Janet Shaw. Gary Muehlfelt drove the truck that pulled the outstanding MTRCC float. Peter Breen, Mike Connelly, and Jeanne Ives could not participate in the parade because of the Democrats. Peter Roskam participated in a different parade. This year, for the 12th year in a row, “DuPage Republicans” helped sponsor the parade and fireworks. “DuPage Republicans” was one of the two $2,500 “Star” sponsors and again sponsored the Wheaton high school bands and the Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums parade entries. Because of a last minute shortage of banner carriers, I had the honor of helping carry the “Sponsored by DuPage Republicans” banner ahead of the Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums. Outstandingly, again this year Tim Whelan coordinated Republican use of the “DuPage Republicans” booth at the fireworks. This year again, I delivered flyers to the residences and businesses on the parade route. The flyers listed the Republican entries in the parade and the Republicans who helped sponsor entries. Outstandingly, the flyers were printed courtesy of Alpha Graphics. This year, outstandingly, Roger Claar is a $500 contributor, Chris Nybo is a $250 contributor, Phil Suess is a $150 contributor, and Bob Berlin, Peter Breen, Mike Connelly, Grant Eckhoff, Tim Elliott, Amy Grant, Gwen Henry, Paul Hinds, Jeanne Ives, Marty Keller, Deanne Mazzochi, Paula McGowen, James Mendrick, Peter Roskam, Darlene Ruscitti, and Tim Whelan are $100 contributors. Please thank them for helping sponsor the parade and fireworks. This year was the 10th anniversary of an elephant walking behind Roskam in the parade.  For that 2007 parade, I had the honor of raising $2,000 on short notice from DuPage Republicans to sponsor that elephant.)

Hahn had served as deputy chief of staff for public engagement and communications director. He has been a longtime GOP staffer, working for both Comptroller Judy Barr Topinka and Leslie Munger. When Hahn was hired last year, he was part of the 23 people who worked for Munger and were then hired by the Rauner administration when Munger lost her bid for re-election. Catherine Kelly, a spokeswoman for Rauner’s administration, also was fired Tuesday, though she was expected to resign as early as next month, according to the Capitolfax.com website, which covers Illinois state politics. http://fox59.com/2017/07/07/police-11-fishers-teens-hospitalized-after-eating-thc-laced-gummy-bears/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Authorities with the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office say 11 teens from Fishers were hospitalized after eating gummy bears laced with THC, an active ingredient found in marijuana. Police began investigating the incident just before midnight on Thursday after they were dispatched on a medical call to the 5200 N block of CR 325 W. A 19-year-old male at the scene told a deputy that he became ill after ingesting drugs, and he needed to go to the hospital. He said he was in the area camping with friends, and they also ingested the drugs. Several more sheriff’s deputies arrived and found 10 other teens that all said they were suffering from a rapid heart rate, pain in their legs, blurred vision, and hallucinations. According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy determined that they each ate one half of a gummy bear that supposedly contained THC.)

Those adverse actions included forcing me to take an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO, giving me unrealistic performance expectations and unfair performance appraisals, assigning me to supervise the office’s most problematic employees, keeping me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, not promoting me beyond GS-13, always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, and forcing me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old.  They would not have done the aforesaid if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, and/or a veteran.)
