— What happens when employers have to pay a higher minimum wage. Did you work for the minimum wage? I did part-time while I was a junior and senior in high school and the summer in between 1964-1966. With the money that I earned and saved, I bought a new 1966 Pontiac Tempest Sprint (a poor man’s GAO) in May of 1966. It was red, black interior, 3-speed Hurst on the floor, and 3.55 rear end. I used it to get to/from a) jobs during the summer of 1966, b) classes at UIC 1966-1967, and c) my Park Forest Post Office job 1966-1967. My Democrat Post Office superiors disallowed my sick leave request and forced me to resign in 1969. My Democrat IRS superiors disallowed my travel vouchers in 1974, they disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and they made it clear that they would never promote me to GS-13. They did the aforesaid even though a) I earned an MBA in 1976, b) I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, and c) I earned a master’s degree in accounting in 1980. – Dave Diersen

Mine would stress a) that my ACT score was only 24, b) that I only just barely made it into the upper 20% of my high school class, c) that while I have four college degrees, my GPAs were not that great, none of the colleges are Ivy League, and I did not earn my master’s degrees until I was 27, 31, and 48, d) that while I passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt, I did not do that until I was 30 and 32 and my scores were not that great, e) that while I became a licensed CPA, it was not until I was 32, and f) that while I earned four more professional certifications, it was not until I was 41, 45, 47, and 48. My critics/opponents ignore/dismiss/belittle the fact a) that my superiors were always under tremendous pressure from Democrat politicians to give preference to their employees who were Democrat, minority, female, younger, and/or veteran, b) that I avoided the Vietnam War draft, c) that I complained about political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, and d) that I became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my superiors with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation when I was 40. – Dave Diersen

–138 registered Republican voters in my precinct (38% of its 361 registered Republican voters) who voted in the April 1, 2025 election. In a precinct letter that I am considering sending, I would a) thank them for voting, b) recap the April 1, 2025 election results, c) list the offices on the March 17, 2026 Republican primary ballot in our precinct, and d) stress my efforts to encourage the Milton Township Republican Organization to promote Wheaton’s and Glen Ellyn’s  July 4, 2026 Independence Day parades and to encourage Republican participation in those parades. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for them. They always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes. They forced me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1997.
