If IRS had hired me, it would not have promoted me in 1972, 1973, and 1974. If GAO had hired me, it would not have promoted me in 1986. If I had used pot, I would not have been able to a) get an ACT score of 24, graduate in the upper 20% of my high school class, or get accepted by UIC in 1966, b) get accepted by NIU in 1969, c) earn a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970, d) earn an MBA from Loyola in 1976, e) pass the CPA Examination on my first attempt in 1979, f) earn a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, g) pass the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, h) become a licensed CPA in 1981, etc. If I had used pot, I would not been able a) to buy used cars in 1964 and 1971 and new cars in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1971, 1973, 1978, etc., b) buy real estate in 1972, 1974, 1976, 1978, and have a home built in 1984, and c) get married in 1978. My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes reject the illegal drugs plank in the Republican Party platform, want to use pot, are using pot, have used pot, and/or want make money off of pot.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Democrats have been actively seeking to elevate abortion as a central voting issue to drive their base to the polls. One strategy has been to merge abortion with the debate over in vitro fertilization (IVF), effectively adopting it as part of their broader 2024 election strategy by pushing claims that Republicans are attempting to ban IVF. To this effort, Senate Democrats, spearheaded by Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), pushed for a second vote on the so-called “Right to IVF Act” this week. “If Donald Trump and Republicans want to protect people’s right to access IVF, they can vote yes on it,” Duckworth told CBS News before the vote. “He’s shown that it only takes one sentence from him, and the Republican Party will fall in line behind him.” The bill failed to advance, and the media promptly pushed the expected narrative. “Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would protect access to IVF on Tuesday, in a vote that Democrats held to draw attention to the issue after former President Donald Trump’s recent statements supporting the fertility treatments,” CBS reported. “For the second time in four months, Senate Democrats forced a vote on the Right To IVF Act, only to be blocked by Republicans who called it unnecessary and politically motivated as Vice President Kamala Harris seeks to make access to in vitro fertilization a 2024 campaign issue,” read the lead at NBC News. The headline over at CNN read, “Senate GOP blocks IVF bill again as Democrats spotlight issue ahead of elections.” Naturally, these stories and headlines aren’t telling the whole story. This is a common election-year tactic that can be surprisingly effective if the media is on your side. Of course, the devil is always in the details, because the “Right to IVF Act,” is far more than what its name implies — as is the case with most legislation. “The ‘Right To IVF Act,’ introduced by Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., lumps several radical Democrat-led assisted reproductive technology (ART) bills into one to ensure the unlimited creation, indefinite freezing, and destruction of millions of embryos,” explains Jordan Boyd of The Federalist. Boyd goes into further detail. “Included in the self-proclaimed ‘sweeping’ bill are vague language and undefined terms that would force Americans with moral objections to ART to fund the manufacturing of motherless and fatherless children, commercial surrogacy, experimental transhumanist technologies like artificial wombs, ‘gene editing,’ and reproduction without women via in vitro gametogenesis,” he explains. “Additionally, the package would make a permanent path for taxpayer-funded ART like egg and sperm freezing, IVF, and surrogacy for millions of U.S. servicemembers and veterans. (FROM THE ARTICLE: The Ohio Haitians are here under two programs, neither of which they qualify for, but of course, that has not stopped Biden, Harris, and Mayorkas. The first program being legally misused is called Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Sec. Mayorkas announced this summer a whopping 300,000 illegal Haitian illegal immigrants, no matter how they got here, can apply for TPS status because there were rains and mudslides or something back in Haiti. Hmm, tropical island and rain/mudslides — kind of goes with the territory. TPS was intended only for people here legally, whose return was delayed, if their homeland had suffered some unique disaster. Today, Democrats routinely use this law to import all manner of Third-World freeloaders. Back in 2017, Pres. Trump tried to stop this, pointing out about 400,000 illegals had been enjoying “temporary” status for an average of 20 years. The ACLU tied them up in court, then Biden reversed the order and gave up on the lawsuits. The other program Biden and Harris misuse is even worse — urgent humanitarian parole. Under this provision, people who are otherwise inadmissible may come to the United States for critical medical care, to attend a sick relative, to donate an organ, or unfortunately, for a few more vague but important reasons. Again, Mayorkas tortured the language of this statute to fly in at least 400,000 illegals the last two years, maybe more. Texas and several states are suing to stop this but the case is only in its early stages on appeal. The only way America’s illegal immigration disaster gets fixed, is if Pres. Trump wins in November. He can simply close the border and end Team Biden’s hocus-pocus to turn millions of illegals residing here into a forever limbo-status.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Far-right activist Laura Loomer’s visible presence alongside former President Trump in recent days is sparking questions about her influence and a substantial amount of criticism from figures aligned with the GOP presidential nominee. Loomer is an outspoken Trump supporter who is known for spreading conspiracy theories and using racist rhetoric. She flew on Trump’s plane to Tuesday’s debate in Philadelphia and was part of his entourage as he attended memorial events Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She does not have any official role with Trump’s campaign, multiple sources said. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a staunch Trump ally, engaged in a heated and personal social media battle with Loomer over social platform X that began Wednesday night and carried into Thursday. Greene separately told reporters it would be a mistake to rely on Loomer for advice and that her rhetoric did not fit in with Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement. “This is such an important election. I don’t think that she has the experience or the right mentality to advise,” Greene told reporters Wednesday, adding she was not privy to Trump’s conversations with Loomer. “I do know this, that her rhetoric and her tone does not match the base, it does not match MAGA, it does not match most Republicans I know,” Greene continued. “And I’m really denouncing it. I’m over it.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a strong ally of Trump in the Senate, on Thursday called out Loomer for racist comments about Vice President Harris, in which she used crude stereotypes to attack Harris’s Indian heritage. The remarks were also criticized by Greene. Graham said the remarks were “abhorrent” and noted Loomer also has made “disturbing” comments about Republicans. “I think that the president would serve himself well to make sure this doesn’t become a bigger story,” Graham told HuffPost. Loomer was spotted deplaning with Trump aides and family members Tuesday in Philadelphia ahead of the debate between the GOP nominee and Harris, and she was in the spin room that night. Some conservatives took note that Loomer was on the former president’s plane before the debate, during which Trump repeated a debunked claim shared by Loomer and others about migrants eating pets in an Ohio town. Loomer has previously described Islam as a “cancer.” She was banned from ride-hailing apps Uber and Lyft in 2017 after posting online that she “never want[s] to support another Islamic immigrant driver.” She was banned from then-Twitter after a series of anti-Muslim posts and was reinstated after Elon Musk purchased the platform. Democrats, including the White House, blasted Loomer’s recent comments and argued Trump’s association with her should be a red flag for the American people. Doubling down on protections for reproductive freedom, Illinois added a new category to its list of protected groups under the IHRA. Illinois already has a large set of protected groups. Besides the federally protected groups, which include race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin and mental and physical disability, Illinois also protects employees based on their ancestry, sexual orientation, including gender-related identification, pregnancy, military status, unfavorable military discharge, order of protection status, marital status, citizenship status, work authorization status, language, conviction record and arrest records. Starting on January 1, 2025, Illinois will also prohibit discrimination against employees based on their “reproductive health decisions,” including the use of contraception, fertility or serialization care, assisted reproductive technologies, miscarriage management care, healthcare related to the continuation or termination or pregnancy or prenatal, intranasal or postnatal care. 3. Protecting Employees with Family Responsibilities. Illinois also amended the IHRA (effective January 1, 2025) to prohibit discrimination, harassment or retaliation against employees based on their “family responsibilities” or providing “personal care” to a “family member.” “Personal care” includes an employee providing transportation to or attending a covered family member’s medical appointment or even staying home from work to care for a sick child or parent. This amendment expressly does not require employers to accommodate an employee’s request for time, etc. to provide this personal care or require employers to modify their existing policies and rules. It simply restricts employers from treating these employees differently because of their family responsibilities to provide personal care to family members.)
