Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform.  Those who reject the immigration plank in the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) platform could have tried to change that plank last year at the IRP State Convention, but they did not even try. Those who agree with Sanguinetti on providing a “path to citizenship” for illegals have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I am a White supremacist, a Nazi, a KKK member, a hater, a racist, a sexist, a bigot, and even worse things. I should write a book about them. They stress that my ancestors have been in America since 1844, that they all immigrated from what is now Germany, that I was baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran, that I am White, that I am male, that I am conservative, that I am Republican, that since Trump won the Republican presidential primary last year, I have been a Trump supporter, and even worse things. They have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that my parents, my grandparents, my great grandparents, and all the rest of my ancestors discriminated against minorities and against women and that I have directly benefited from that big time. They have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that because of the aforesaid, I should pay the price of AA, Diversity, and Inclusion. Because of the aforesaid, were it not for federal civil service protections, a) the Post Office would NOT have hired me in 1966 or let me work there for almost 3 years, b) IRS would NOT have hired me in 1971 or let me work there for almost 9 years, c) IRS would NOT have promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, d) GAO would NOT have hired me in 1980 or let me work there for almost 18 years, and e) GAO would NOT have promoted me in 1986.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE:  Two Illinois Republican state reps are very concerned about the immigration law enforcement measure Illinois Republican Governor Bruce Rauner signed into law Monday. State Reps. John Cabello (R-Rockford) and David McSweeney (R-Barrington) filed a measure Wednesday that would repeal a new law banning law enforcement in Illinois from stopping persons suspected of being in the U.S. illegally. “I swore to uphold the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions when I became a legislator,” Cabello told Illinois Review Wednesday. “As a member of law enforcement, I took a vow to uphold the law. I believe and trust in those oaths, and intend to do all I can to keep them.” The law many are referring to as the “sanctuary law” says law enforcement “shall not” detain or continue to detain any individual solely on the basis of any immigration detainer or non-judicial immigration warrant. Law enforcement “shall not” stop or arrest anyone solely based on the person’s immigration or citizenship status. They are, however, not banned from implementing a “valid” judge-issued federal warrant concerning any suspects. That is the definition of a sanctuary law, Cabello bill co-sponsor David McSweeney told Illinois Review. He pointed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ office comments on the law. “As the Attorney General has said, when cities and states refuse to help enforce immigration laws, our nation is less safe,” DOG spokesman Devin O’Malley told Fox News. “Failure to deport aliens who are convicted for criminal offenses puts whole communities at risk – especially immigrant communities in the very sanctuary jurisdictions that seek to protect the perpetrators.” The attorney general’s views were totally disregarded in a missive sent out by the Illinois Republican Party chairman Tim Schneider and County Chairman Association President Randy Pollard Monday night after Rauner signed the bill into law in front of an enthusiastic Latino audience in Chicago. “I think it is important that people know what Attorney General Sessions thinks about SB 31. Tim Schneider, the chief cheerleader for the ‘Capitol Compromise’ massive tax hike is now presenting more ‘alternative facts,'” McSweeney said. Cabello said lawmakers are supposed to do what’s best for those that are bearing the financial burden for decisions they make at the capitol. Not doing so will ultimately create consequences that political parties may not want, such as the base simply staying home in 2018. “People are telling me they’re so fed up with the party leaders and the governor that they’re just not going to go to the polls in 2018. That’s the opposite of what they should do,” Cabello, who co-chaired the Trump campaign in Illinois, said. “They need their voices to be heard loud and clear. As a noun, it is an act of accommodation to a demand by slight and merely formal concessions. For Democrats in Cook County, August’s slatemaking for their 2018 ticket was both a noun and an adjective, particularly regarding white men. Of the 16 candidates endorsed by the party for countywide offices, including judges, a grand total of three are while males, or about 18 percent. In the Democratic Party, men have hit the proverbial “glass ceiling.” Having a white man on the ticket is now of slight or no account. Of the remaining 13, seven are black, of which four are black women. That’s 44 percent. Seven are women. That’s another 44 percent. And two are Hispanics. That’s just 12 percent. As a noun, every key Democratic constituency got more than token accommodation. White males are no longer a key constituency. As expected, the Big Three – County Board president Toni Preckwinkle, House Speaker and state Democratic chairman Mike Madigan, and Alderman Ed Burke (14th) – did the dictating, with Burke picking the judges, and the 50 city and 30 suburban committeemen did the capitulating. Preckwinkle is expanding her empire exponentially, and is at the top of the heap. In the 2016 cycle, Preckwinkle engineered the slating of her county aide, Kim Foxx, for state’s attorney. She easily beat incumbent Anita Alvarez in the primary. She also worked with Madigan, dispatching another aide, Juliana Stratton, to run against independent-minded Ken Dunkin, who had the temerity to defy Madigan on several Illinois House votes. With a flood of Madigan money, Stratton buried Dunkin, and Madigan got another ally in Springfield. Now Preckwinkle and Madigan have worked again, plunking Stratton on J.B. Pritzker’s ticket for lieutenant governor in the March 2018 primary, and then delivering an endorsement of Pritzker for governor. Crafting a Pritzker-Stratton ticket sealed the deal, and Preckwinkle delivered all the black committeemen at slatemaking. And finally, another former Preckwinkle aide, Kim du Buclet, now a state representative, got slated for the 2-year Metropolitan Water Reclamation District term, beating a Hispanic backed by state Representative Luis Arroyo (D-3), and a longtime insider and donor associated with the North Shore Realtors. In the slating for county clerk, a job David Orr is relinquishing after 28 years, Recorder Karen Yarbrough, who is black and a Madigan protege, was slated. For Preckwinkle, despite the soda tax snafu, it’s “Veni, vidi, vici” – “I came, I saw, I conquered.”)

Claiming it was supported by “the immigration community” in addition to the Illinois Sheriff’s Association and businesses, Rauner told WBEZ, Chicago’s FM public radio channel, that SB31 “seems very reasonable.” Rauner’s office did not respond to Breitbart News’s request to clarify to whom “the immigration community” referred. The patriotic immigration reform group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) strongly criticized SB31 in an interview with conservative site Illinois Review. Meanwhile, the Chicago chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and open-borders groups like the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, have urged Rauner to sign the bill. SB31 does not concern the handling of immigrants or refugees, but illegal aliens, who are neither. Harmlessly titled the “Illinois Trust Act,” SB31 prohibits all Illinois state and local law enforcement from complying with federal agents’ “immigration detainer” orders. In effect, it will be illegal under the act for police in Illinois keep someone who federal agents tell them is an illegal alien in custody long enough for them to arrive and enforce immigration laws. Instead, they will be compelled to release illegal aliens back onto the street when they have no non-immigration-related reason to keep them locked up. The bill is similar to provisions in effect in the so-called “sanctuary state” of California. “It does not tie law enforcement’s hands. It actually encourages between local law enforcement and federal immigration facilities,” Rauner said, indicating he would make up his mind on whether to sign it in the next few days. Rauner’s office confirmed to Breitbart News Monday that the governor has yet to reach a final decision on SB31. One Illinois immigration hawk was unconvinced. “I think the biggest question Illinois taxpayers have for Governor Rauner and any legislator who would want to pass this bill is, ‘Does making it easier for illegal aliens to stay in Illinois improve the lives of Illinois residents?’” former Republican candidate for the U.S. Congress and Illinois Minutemen-founder Rosanna Pulido told Breitbart News. She explained: “We already spend 4.5 Billion dollars a year for free services for illegal aliens. By signing this Bill, SB 31, Rauner will create an even stronger magnet for illegal aliens who are looking not to be apprehended by the law. Thus, the already overburdened taxpayer will be saddled with even more of a burden. It will truly be the straw that broke the camels back. Personally I am already checking out a different state I can move to.  It is a truly sad day in Illinois.” Brian McCann, whose brother Dennis was killed by an illegal alien who escaped to his native Mexico because of Chicago’s existing “sanctuary” policies, joined other families to opposing SB31. “All the killers were illegal aliens,” McCann told the Illinois Review. “The three of us have made repeated requests to meet with the governor to urge him to veto this dangerous measure. We will meet with the governor downstate or upstate before the August 28th deadline for a veto.” At the launch of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime (AVIAC) in June, McCann expressed his frustration with the mainstream media’s constant focus on sympathetic stories about illegal immigrants and not on Americans who are harmed by so-called sanctuary policies. “We get no support … We don’t get coverage,” he told Breitbart News then. If Rauner hoped to curry favor from his state’s rampant political left by signaling support for SB31, he did not find that support forthcoming. “Rauner is a guy who is trying to wreck the lives of working class families,” a spokesman for long-time Illinois Speaker of the House Michael Madigan told WBEZ in response to Rauner’s comments on the sanctuary bill. “I can’t say it any more simply.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A man described by neighbors as “quarrelsome” and who placed large anti-Trump signs in his yard is in police custody for the murder of his next-door neighbor – a GOP committeeman. Police in West Goshen Township, PA, charged Clayton Carter, 51, in the shooting death of his next-door neighbor, G. Brooks Jennings in the early morning hours on Tuesday, according to ABC Philadelphia. The conflict began on Monday evening when police officers responded to a dispute between Carter and Jennings that involved cursing and video recording in one of their backyards. Police de-escalated the conflict around 8 p.m. and left. Shortly after midnight, police say another conflict erupted between the two neighbors as Carter claims that Jennings shined a light into his eyes. Carter purportedly told police that he then drove his car onto his lawn and shined the car’s high beams towards Jennings. Investigators say it was at this point when Carter went into his home and grabbed a .380 semi-automatic pistol and confronted Jennings. Carter allegedly shot Jennings in the head, knocking him to the ground, and then stood over his body and shot him in the head again. Police say the victim Carter shot Jennings on Jennings property. One neighbor described Jennings, a GOP committeeman, as “the nicest, best guy I’ve ever met in my whole life.” Those same neighbors described Carter, who apparently had a history of conflict with multiple neighbors — including pulling a gun on Jennings in the past — as someone they avoided because of his volatile behavior. “We steered clear of him. We were frightened of him [Carter] because he’s so unpredictable,” another neighbor said speaking about Carter. Neighbors described his front yard as being crowded with cars and anti-Trump signs that he made himself. Many of the conflicts between Carter and his neighbors were apparently not political, but personal. Police charged Carter with multiple crimes including first-degree murder which makes him ineligible for bail in the state of Pennsylvania.)
