(FROM THE ARTICLE: As of Monday night, Hebreard clung to a 116-vote lead with 177,185 votes, around 50.02 percent of the unofficial total. Cantore had 177,069 votes, around 49.98 percent of the unofficial total. The DuPage County Election Commission counted nearly 300 vote-by-mail ballots on Monday. Suzanne Fahnestock, the commission’s executive director, said Tuesday is the deadline for additional vote-by-mail ballots to arrive. Also on Tuesday, the commission will complete its review of roughly 1,800 provisional ballots, Fahnestock said. Provisional ballots that are found to be valid then will be counted. DuPage’s election results won’t become official until Nov. 27. Then it will be up to the candidates to decide if they want to move to the next step.)

November 19 Morning Edition

DAILY HERALD
— Contested mayoral races expected in Naperville, Wheaton, Downers Grove (DIERSEN: Ronald Almiron has also filed for an at-large seat on the Wheaton City Council.)
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20181119/contested-mayoral-races-expected-in-naperville-wheaton-downers-grove–
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In Wheaton, Councilman John Prendiville officially launched his campaign as the first mayoral candidate to submit nominating petitions to appear on the April ballot. Prendiville turned in his paperwork at the city clerk’s office when the filing period opened at 8 a.m. in order to claim the first spot on the ballot in the April 2 election. Another longtime council member, Phil Suess, also has announced his bid to succeed Mayor Michael Gresk, who is stepping down after three terms. Prendiville served on the council from 2007 to 2011 and again since 2013 after an unsuccessful run to unseat Gresk as mayor. He is the managing director and senior managing counsel for The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, a firm that acts as a trustee for municipal bond issues. Prendiville already is touting endorsements from two former mayors, Jim Carr and Gwen Henry. Gresk has said he will not make an endorsement in the race. “I really enjoyed my time on the city council I’d like to keep the city on the track that we’ve been on,” Prendiville said. “We’ve been very fiscally responsible and I think that is the basis for everything we do as a city in terms of providing services and maintaining our infrastructure and I enjoy working with everybody and I think that my ability to work with others is one of the reasons why I’ve gotten the support so far.” Incumbent Suzanne Fitch filed Monday to run for re-election for her at-large council seat. The other at-large seat — held by Prendiville — also is up for grabs. The Wheaton City Council is composed of six representatives and the mayor. Four council members represent the city’s four voting districts, while two members and the mayor are elected at-large. Five residents — Paula Mesch, Bruce Fogerty, Reda Karaliukas, David Diersen (DIERSEN: I pulled a nominating packet for someone else, not for myself.) and Jeremy Parker — have pulled nominating packets from the city clerk’s office but have not yet filed. It’s not yet clear which offices they would seek. The filing period runs until 5 p.m. Nov. 26. If more than four mayoral candidates or if more than eight at-large city council member candidates emerge, a primary will be held Feb. 26 to narrow the field.)
— FRONT PAGE TOP OF FOLD: Will voters stay energized for local elections? – Jake Griffin (DIERSEN: Because Democrats were so successful a) in promoting hatred of Trump and b) in getting voters to punish Trump by voting for Democrats in the November 6, 2018 election, Democrats will do the same thing for the April 2, 2019 election. Democrats will demonize, denigrate and condemn Republican candidates in the April 2, 2019 election as being White supremacists, Nazis, KKK members, haters, racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things who should be gotten rid of. Democrats will demand that Republican candidates demonize, denigrate, and condemn Trump as being a White supremacist, Nazi, KKK member, hater, racist, sexist, bigot, and even worse things who should be gotten rid of.)
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20181119/will-voters-stay-energized-for-local-elections-
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Political organizers say they are trying to seize the momentum from the recent election to attract more people to run for local offices. “We hope the enthusiasm continues and we’ll see how many we can get out to get interested in these posts,” said Bob Peickert, chairman of the DuPage Democratic Party. “This is an opportunity to have some experience in local government, and they can get a better understanding of how government works. It is a form of minor leagues.” Schraufnagel said it’s “conceivable” the so-called blue wave that helped Democrats seize a number of seats at all levels of the government would continue for the local election of 2019. But it’s even more likely Republicans will use this opportunity to reinvigorate their ranks, he said. Both Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, and departing Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner have shared some of their war chests with township and county parties, which could help bolster future local government campaigns. “Using local elections as a farm system dates back to the late 1970s for Republicans,” Schraufnagel said. “This is a strategy that has been around for 30 or 40 years to groom them and train them.”)

CHICAGO TRIBUNE

To make room for its young Democrat minority employees and for its young Democrat female employees, the federal government discriminates against its employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran. The federal government wastes the careers of and gets rid of its employee who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran who do not make GS-13 (currently $96,403) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $113,920) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $134,000) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200) by age 40. Extremely few make the aforesaid promotions.)
https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/commentary/ct-perspec-job-retirement-forced-europe-law-hobbies-symphonies-operas-1119-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: I’m taking my forced retirement in seven months. Forced, because it’s the law in the European country where I work. On the first day of the month following your 65th birthday, you’re no longer an employee. Most people must look forward to that day when they can sleep in, wear cargo pants, plan vacations off-season — not taking orders from feckless bosses, dealing with problematic colleagues or fighting traffic home from work. . .Since President Ronald Reagan, there is no age discrimination at the workplace in the U.S., but that’s not the case here. So I’ll be out on June 1 to make room for one of the many deserving young persons.)

NORTHERN PUBLIC RADIO
— The Blue Wave That Inundated Illinois: What’s Next? – BOB EVANS (DIERSEN: The Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Central Committee (SCC) will meet on Saturday, December 1, 2018. What will “Republican leaders” in Illinois who are really Democrat plants, Libertarian plants, Green plants, and RINOs demand? If they were open and honest about what they want, they would demand that the IRP and all its county, ward, and township organizations immediately condemn Trump and condemn Pence. They would demand that the IRP immediately strike the traditional family, right to life, immigration, and Second Amendment planks from its platform. They would demand that the IRP and all its county, ward, and township organizations immediately banish from the IRP a) those who support the aforesaid planks and b) those who are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owners, German American, draft avoiders, and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time. What do the following have to say about the aforesaid: IRP Chairman (Tim Schneider), IRP National Committeeman (Richard Porter), IRP National Committeewoman (Demetra DeMonte), your representative on the IRP SCC (mine is Bob Grogan), the officers of your Republican county party organization (mine are Brian Krajewski, Marty Keller, Paul Hinds, Barbara Murphy, and Gwen Henry), and the officers of your Republican township/ward party organization (mine are Chris LeVan, John Monino, and Yadav Nathwani)?)
http://www.northernpublicradio.org/post/blue-wave-inundated-illinois-whats-next
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The midterms generated a blue wave that inundated Illinois. Pritzker romped. Democrats won every state-wide office and defended their extraordinary legislative majorities. Illinois is now one of the bluest of blue states. What happened, and what’s next? It happened for several reasons. First, Illinois is, and has been, trending Democratic. Demographic changes are profound and persistent. ‎In addition, there was a down ballot anti-Trump and anti-Rauner effect. Trump’s biting social and cultural message that perhaps saved Senate seats cost Republicans House seats such as Illinois 6 and 14. Moderate suburban voters abandoned Republicans. The anti-Rauner effect was cumulative but fatal down ballot. His obstreperous budget stance, combined with yielding to Democrats on abortion and sanctuary status, alienated Independents and Republicans, who never returned to the fold. He cooked his own goose. Now that Democrats virtually control Illinois there are no bucks to be passed.‎ Two choices loom. They can claim a mandate for bold new programs, but at great cost. Illinois does not have two nickels to rub together. Or they could proceed modestly, conserving scarce resources for the looming budgetary tidal wave. Democrats will signal modesty and prudence if they consider early on a bill to place Republicans on the Endangered Species List. I am Bob Evans, and that is my perspective.)

FED SMITH
— Can You Work Longer in a Position with Mandatory Retirement? – John Grobe (DIERSEN: Constructively, it is mandatory for federal employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran to retire as soon as they are eligible, unless they have made into the Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200/year). I became eligible for early retirement in 1993 when I was 45 years old.)
https://www.fedsmith.com/2018/11/18/can-work-longer-position-mandatory-retirement/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Certain federal positions have mandatory retirement ages associated with them. Those that most of us are aware of are Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Air Traffic Controllers, though there are a few other “special category” employees. Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters are expected to be “young and vigorous” (yes, that’s what the law says), and Congress has determined that youth and vigor depart at the age of 57. Air Traffic Controllers have a mandatory retirement age of 56. So, unless there is an exception granted by the agency head, individuals in these positions must be off the rolls at the end of the month in which they reach their mandatory age. Exceptions are limited to just a few years.)

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/first-came-acosta-why-sued-214850036.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: This President has done far more than retaliate against one White House reporter. Rather, he has mounted a sustained campaign of retaliation and threats against an array of journalists and media companies he perceives as critics, ranging from interfering with a merger to threats to revoke media broadcast licenses. This President has demonstrated time and again that, no matter the damage to our democracy, he will make outrageous, chilling, and dangerous remarks to and about journalists. He has that right and nothing in sight will stop him. But when he and his administration take action to curtail the exercise of First Amendment rights, it has not only gone too far morally, it has gone too far legally. That’s why PEN America, an organization of writers and literary professionals whose mission is celebrating and defending free expression, sued President Trump in federal court to stop him. And it’s why Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan nonprofit with a mission to prevent our democracy from sliding into autocracy, is representing PEN America along with the Yale Media Freedom and Information Access Clinic, going after President Trump in federal court to stop him. We are suing President Trump for using the levers of government power he oversees to punish the media for coverage he dislikes, not for his verbal attacks on the press. The President’s retaliatory actions toward news entities harken not just back to the McCarthy era, when the creative community was directly targeted by the government, they are straight out of the modern authoritarian’s playbook. Where Trump has his “enemy of the people,” Stalin had his “vrag naroda” (enemy of the nation). Where Trump has his “lying media,” Hitler had his “lugenpresse” (lying press).)

DAILY HERALD
— California GOP ponders way forward after stunning losses – AP (DIERSEN: What is the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) pondering? Has your representative on the IRP State Central Committee sought your input? What is on the agenda for the December 1, 2018 IRP SCC meeting? Where, and at what time, will the meeting be held? Will public comments be allowed? What will be discussed in the open part of the meeting and what will be discussed in executive session part of the meeting?)
https://www.dailyherald.com/article/20181116/news/311169983/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: “The California Republican Party isn’t salvageable at this time,” concluded Kristin Olsen, a former Republican leader in the state Assembly. “The Grand Old Party is dead – partly because it has failed to separate itself from today’s toxic, national brand of Republican politics,” she wrote in a column on the website CALmatters. Shawn Steel, one of the state’s two Republican National Committee members, said her party has “reached the point of desperation.” “The party’s problems have been around longer and run much deeper than any one person. From money to grassroots organization, California Republicans are completely outmatched,” Steel wrote on the Washington Examiner website. A generation ago, the state was once a reliable win for the GOP in presidential elections. And in Orange County, largely white, conservative homeowners delivered winning margins for Republicans year after year. But a surge in immigrants transformed the state and its voting patterns. The number of Hispanics, blacks and Asians has outnumbered whites since 1998. And many of those new voters lean Democratic. The number of registered Republicans has been in a freefall for years – even independents outnumber them. In a sign of what was to come, Hillary Clinton carried Orange County in the 2016 presidential election, the first Democrat to do so since the Depression era. A stronger tack leftward has now dramatically arrived. . .Clearly, President Donald Trump was a factor. He lost California by over 4 million votes in 2016 and has remained unpopular, and many voters saw an opportunity to send a message to Washington. Walters and Rohrabacher, for example, were closely tied to the president, while Democratic candidates campaigned openly against Trump’s agenda. But demographic changes have also helped Democrats, and in key congressional races they fielded a group of fresh faces, not career politicians. Steel, the GOP committeeman, noted that Democrats raised more money and did a better job registering voters and using social media. The state GOP has debated for years whether the party needs to turn to the political center, or right. As far back as 2007, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger warned the party was “dying at the box office” and needed to claim issues usually associated with the Democratic agenda, including climate change and health care reform. The latest setbacks have set off a fresh round of Republican soul-searching. Travis Allen, a former GOP candidate for governor and ardent Trump supporter, said Thursday he was entering the race to be the state party leader. The party, he said, is at the “lowest point it’s been since the 1880s.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: For many decades, Congress has provided orientations for its new members. These used to be bipartisan, including a wide range of experts who taught newcomers the rules of how Congress works. After Newt Gingrich’s speakership in the 1990s, they became more partisan and generally less effective. The Democrats will need a much more robust orientation for members, new and otherwise, who have never served in the majority—and the same for staff. There should also be training about how to conduct investigations—there’s going to be a lot to investigate—how to do oversight, how to ask questions of witnesses, and how to use the alphabet soup of resources available to Congress, from CBO to GAO to CRS.)

Better yet, I should sue them.)
http://prod.headlineclub.org/2018/11/09/chicago-headline-club-demands-white-house-reinstate-jim-acostas-credentials/
(FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT: We, the board of the Chicago Headline Club, the largest chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, demand that the White House immediately reinstate the full credentials of CNN reporter Jim Acosta. A free press is a pillar of our democracy. Without a free press, there are no independent agencies to inform the public, expose injustice and hold the powerful to account. Some of the most important reporting comes from those who cover the White House and our nation’s government each day. The president first insulted Mr. Acosta as he asked a question during a news conference. An intern then tried to remove a microphone from Mr. Acosta’s hand to stop him from asking questions. This is clearly confirmed by video, and accounts of other reporters at the press conference. Hours later, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Mr. Acosta’s credentials were being revoked indefinitely, meaning he would no longer have access to cover the White House on behalf of one of the country’s largest cable networks. To justify this outrageous retaliation, Ms. Sanders falsely accused Mr. Acosta of accosting the intern. Hours later, she followed up by propagating a doctored video, edited to make it appear as though he assaulted the young woman. This is disgraceful. Ms. Sanders, in announcing the revocation of Mr. Acosta’s credentials, said the administration appreciates and welcomes tough questions from journalists. This is comically absurd and there is only evidence to the contrary. This administration has routinely disparaged free press and belittled its value, it has demeaned strong news coverage, and has attacked reporters who dare set the record straight in the face of lies. It was bad enough to accuse Mr. Acosta of doing something he obviously did not do. That the White House would then attempt to support the lie by disseminating an altered video is especially detestable and shows the lengths to which this administration will go to wage war against the truth. Jim Acosta did nothing wrong. He is a devoted journalist who did exactly what his colleagues, bosses and the public expect of a reporter in his position: He questioned the leader of our country and demanded answers. He sought accountability. The banishment of Mr. Acosta from the White House is unprecedented in this country. Sadly, it is not an unfamiliar tactic. Public officials and elected leaders at all levels of government routinely refuse to speak to reporters they deem unfriendly and block access to entire news outlets. We saw this occur on Election Day when Rep. Steve King of Iowa barred the Des Moines Register from covering his election night event, refusing to credential any of their reporters. This treatment of journalists is inexcusable whether they cover the White House or a local school board. More importantly, a public official rebuffing accountability for their actions is a disservice to the people they are supposed to serve. No public official should be above scrutiny. And no journalist in this country should be punished for doing their job. If the White House truly values the work of the press, as Ms. Sanders indicated in her statement, there is an obvious way to demonstrate that: restore Jim Acosta’s credentials and end its vicious attacks on journalists.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: At that point Acosta wasn’t a reporter asking questions. He was an activist debating policy and trying to change the president’s mind. “Most of the people there were serious reporters asking serious questions, but Jim Acosta, I thought, embarrassed himself today,” Fox News Sunday anchorman Chris Wallace said after the briefing. Let’s cast aside the officially stated reason for pulling Acosta’s White House credentials — that he laid his hand on a White House intern trying to pull the microphone away. Video shows physical contact. Viewers still are debating whether the contact actually was combative or just a byproduct of Acosta’s gesturing. Let’s instead talk about Acosta repeatedly interrupting Trump during a January 2017 press conference more than a week before his inauguration. Let’s talk about last June, when Acosta interrupted a historic signing ceremony with North Korea with his questions. Let’s talk about he shouted at those two leaders about nuclear weapons. When he didn’t get an answer, a hot microphone seemed to pick up a flustered Acosta saying, “Hey, if they’re not going to let me in the (expletive) meeting, that’s what happens … That’s the way it goes, baby.”)

https://abc7chicago.com/politics/trump-revels-in-victories-revokes-cnn-reporters-press-credentials/4640053/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Trump sparred with CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, who asked him questions about the migrant caravan headed for the U.S. and the Russia investigation. “That’s enough, put down the mic,” Trump said to Acosta, as he tried to ask more questions. Acosta struggled with a woman in a maroon dress tried to take the microphone from him. She eventually succeeded and handed it to another reporter. “CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN.” Acosta tweeted just before 8 p.m. Eastern Time that Secret Service denied him entry to the White House grounds for his live shot. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement accusing Acosta of physically assaulting a White House intern and saying his press credentials had been revoked until further notice. “President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration. We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern. This conduct is absolutely unacceptable,” Sanders wrote in the statement. The statement claimed, without evidence, that Trump has “given the press more access than any President in history,” and concluded, “As a result of today’s incident, the White House is suspending the hard pass of the reporter involved until further notice.”)

https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20181107/dont-write-illinois-gops-eulogy-just-yet-election-expert-says
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Conservative Republican state Rep. Jeanne Ives of Wheaton, who narrowly lost to Gov. Bruce Rauner in the GOP gubernatorial primary, said state party leadership failed this election cycle. “The Illinois Republican Party needs new leadership at this point,” she said, suggesting Republicans from downstate or central Illinois could be up for the task. With Gov. Bruce Rauner out of the picture, so, too, is the money he sunk into GOP campaigns — and that’ll cause problems for Republican candidates, Redfield said. The GOP also will struggle until it finds its identity, Redfield said. The conservative wing led by Ives and activist Dan Proft has been targeting socially moderate Republicans to the detriment of the party, he said. “I suspect there’s going to be a real battle for control (of the state party),” Redfield said. “If they’re not sure who they are and they don’t replace Rauner’s money, they’re going to be in a world of hurt in two years, especially with (President) Trump at the head of the ticket.” Based on voter demographics, Republican political consultant Brad Goodman said, the party will become less and less relevant unless it can put up candidates young suburban women will support.)

— SALT Cap Comes Back to Haunt GOP With Key Tax Writers Losing Their Seats – Laura Davison
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-07/salt-cap-comes-back-to-haunt-as-key-gop-tax-writers-lose-bids
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Two of the key players behind the tax overhaul — Illinois’ Peter Roskam and Minnesota’s Erik Paulsen — were among the six casualties. They sit on the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, whose Republican bench has been wiped out by losses, as well as retirements. Ten of the 24 Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee won’t return to Congress next year — in addition to Roskam and Paulsen, two members from low-tax states lost their re-election bids and six more decided to retire or run for other office. The loss of many of the committee’s top lawmakers means the GOP will need to rebuild members’ expertise in tax, trade and health-care issues. . .Roskam and Paulsen helped craft the 2017 bill and continued to support it even after a controversial provision was included to limit deductions to $10,000. Previously, they were unlimited. The lawmakers had hoped campaigning on the tax law’s other benefits, such as lower rates for individuals and more generous child tax credits, could offset voter frustration over the new cap. . .Roskam, who served as the House Ways and Means tax policy subcommittee chairman during the tax overhaul process, hails from a suburban Chicago district where the counties are some of the highest taxed in the state. About 49.3 percent of the tax returns filed in the district prior to the law change claimed the SALT deduction, according to data from the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center. Roskam’s Democratic opponent, Sean Casten repeatedly campaigned on eliminating the SALT cap. “The fact that nearly half of his own constituents claim this deduction didn’t prevent Peter Roskam from making SALT a target,” Casten said in a white paper he published about tax policy. Over the course of the campaign, Roskam softened his support for the SALT cap, saying it should be indexed to inflation.)

— Rebuilding the shell-shocked Illinois GOP – Editorial
https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-election-illinois-future-republicans-20181107-story.html
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: What’s an Illinois Republican Party to do? Recoil and tremble? Or unite and rebuild? Here’s the first step: Mend the fracture between establishment and conservative Republicans — Rauner supporters and those who backed his primary opponent, Rep. Jeanne Ives — and begin the rebuilding process. Find common ground and bury old grudges. Coalesce around new, fresh leadership in the House and Senate. The talent is there. House and Senate members who managed to fend off challengers — Sens. Neil Anderson of Andalusia and John Curran of Downers Grove, along with Reps. Mark Batinick of Plainfield, Tom Morrison of Palatine, Tom Demmer of Dixon, Grant Wehrli of Naperville, to name a few — will have to retread this party. And they’ll have to do it without worrying about the next election. Don’t go weak. Go big — that is, as big as a minority party can go. Give the people of Illinois fresh ideas for fixing this state’s government and economy. . .The GOP can have its comeback. The process will be a grind. Given the lingering hard feelings between conservatives and the more moderate establishment, even agreeing on leadership post-Rauner will be grueling. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Governor Bruce Rauner and other Illinois Republicans rallied at the Benedictine University in Lisle on the eve of Tuesday’s election. Rauner was wrapping up a 9-day bus tour of the state with one last attempt to get his supporters to the polls. If we get the turnout, we’re going to win it,” predicted Rauner. He was joined by other Republicans including Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti. The two reminded voters that if Rauner loses the election Democrats will control the house and the governor’s mansion. “We have a governor that’s always stood up to Mike Madigan, and we have a governor who is going to stand up to the person that Mike Madigan appointed which is J.B. Pritzker,” said Sanguinetti. Rauner asked his supports to remind their neighbors to go the polls on Tuesday. He said voters have been telling him, “Stay strong, don’t back down don’t give in. You’re on the right track. Madigan has got to go.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: MCQUEARY: “The environment in Illinois politics is telling. Among the least-represented voices in Springfield is that of conservative women. The House and Senate, made up of 177 members, include 61 women of both parties. That number should be higher, but it’s not abysmal. Of those women, the majority are Democrats and mostly lean left. The House right now has only 13 Republican women. The Senate has two. Let me repeat that data point for emphasis: Of the House’s 118 members, 13 are GOP women. Of the Senate’s 59 members, only two are Republican women. If the movement is truly about lifting women, shouldn’t it be focused on raising those numbers? Bringing more capable, opinion-diverse women into the pink-hat pavilion?” MILLER: “As I reminded subscribers earlier today, three Republicans have resigned from the Illinois Senate since the summer of 2017. All three were women and all three women were replaced by men. One of the women who stepped down was Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno. The Senate Republicans elected a man, Sen. Bill Brady, to replace her. The #MeToo movement is not some top-down political action committee. The Republican Party, particularly in the Illinois Senate, is the entity truly in need of a dressing-down here. After all, they’re the ones who recruit the candidates and they’re the ones who exert influence on local retiree replacement decisions.”)

I had earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT in 1997. I had become a Forensic Accountant in 1997, Certified Financial Services Auditor in 1996, Certified Government Financial Manager in 1994, Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990, licensed CPA in 1981, Certified Internal Auditor in 1981, and CPA in 1979. I had earned a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980 and an MBA from Loyola in 1976.
