— Career Staffer Was Targeted at State Department for Perceived Political Beliefs Employee unfairly reassigned after conservative media questioned her loyalty to Trump administration, report finds – Jessica Donati and Courtney McBride (DIERSEN: My Democrat superiors in the federal government targeted me for my political beliefs. My Democrat GAO superiors unfairly forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take a $19,568 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors unfairly did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors unfairly forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

PROPUBLICA
— DECEMBER 28, 2018 FLASHBACK: If You’re Over 50, Chances Are the Decision to Leave a Job Won’t be Yours A new data analysis by ProPublica and the Urban Institute shows more than half of older U.S. workers are pushed out of longtime jobs before they choose to retire, suffering financial damage that is often irreversible. – Peter Gosselin (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/shout that if you are forced to retire, it is because you are a White supremacist, Nazi, KKK member, hater, racist, sexist, bigot, and even worse things.)
https://www.propublica.org/article/older-workers-united-states-pushed-out-of-work-forced-retirement
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Jeffrey Wenger, a senior labor economist with the RAND Corp., said some of these people likely were laid off, but they cover it up by saying they retired. “There’s so much social stigma around being separated from work,” he said, “even people who are fired or let go will say they retired to save face.”)

MOTLEY FOOL
— 3 Reasons You Should Plan for an Early Retirement Even if you intend to never stop working, you still need a retirement plan. – Kailey Hagen (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/shout that if you are forced to retire, it is because you are a White supremacist, Nazi, KKK member, hater, racist, sexist, bigot, and even worse things.)
https://www.fool.com/retirement/2019/11/14/3-reasons-you-should-plan-for-an-early-retirement.aspx
(FROM THE ARTICLE: 1. You may be forced to retire early As I mentioned above, even if you intend to work late into life, unexpected circumstances may prevent that. Your company might close or downsize, leaving you out of work. Or you may become seriously ill or need to care for a sick family member. This could take up a lot of your time and prevent you from working even if you want to. If one of these situations happens to you, you could try to find a new, more flexible job that can accommodate your schedule and talents. But in this world of fast-changing technology, there’s no way to be sure what the jobs of the future will look like or how qualified you will be for them. Even if you try to search for new work, it could be months before you find something suitable — or you might never find anything at all, and you’ll need adequate retirement savings to fall back on.)

ATLANTIC
— The President’s Cognitive Decline As age factors more urgently in politics, a simple test could evaluate who remains fit for office. – JAMES HAMBLIN (DIERSEN: What shows your cognitive abilities? For me it is the GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails that I have sent out since 2000. Since 2004, they have gone out each and every morning, and since 2015, each and every evening too. Since 2004, they have included links to more than 350,500 articles and information on many upcoming events.)
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2019/11/kings-speech/602050/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: At the moment, neurologists’ most widely used test for cognitive impairment is a basic screening exam known as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or MoCA—a five-minute, 30-question test that involves knowing where you are, drawing a clock, and identifying a picture of a tiger. The most difficult part is recalling five words that you are told to remember at the beginning of the exam. The test is meant to identify people who will have difficulty completing the “activities of daily living.” Last year Trump took this test. In a glowing press conference, his physician, Ronny Jackson, reported that the president aced it. But a test used for screening the general population for dementia does not necessarily suggest abilities to serve as commander in chief any more than, say, passing a test to get a driver’s license would. Anything less than a perfect score raises concerns, but a perfect score tells the public little about a candidate’s actual capacity. Better tests do exist. Simply and transparently administered, they could help the public know what is really going on with the cognitive status of people who seek to hold the nuclear codes. Cognitive testing for a government job has long been done in the military. In World War I, psychologists developed tests known as Alpha and Beta to assess a person’s ability to follow directions and process information.)

— Journalists Who Exposed Planned Parenthood’s ‘Baby Body Parts’ Trade Found Guilty – Phelim McAleer
https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-journalists-who-exposed-planned-parenthoods-baby-body-parts-trade-found-guilty
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Peter Breen, a lawyer for Mr. Daleiden, said the judgement is a direct threat to undercover journalism in California and across the country. “Undercover Journalism now comes with a $2 million price tag,” he said. Mr. Breen blamed Judge William Orrick’s directions to the jury for the verdict. “The judge should have told them that Mr. Daleiden’s filming was protected by the First Amendment. Instead, he told them the First Amendment is no defense, which is outrageous and not the law. When you have a series of unfair rulings, you can’t expect a fair verdict,” Breen said.)

THOMAS MOORE SOCIETY
— Thomas More Society Will Fight Multimillion Dollar RICO Judgment in David Daleiden’s Baby Body Parts Exposé Trial
http://www.standardnewswire.com/news/4991215836.html
(FROM THE PRESS RELEASE: “This lawsuit is payback for David Daleiden exposing Planned Parenthood’s dirty business of buying and selling fetal parts and organs,” declared lead Thomas More Society defense attorney Peter Breen. “We intend to seek vindication for David on appeal. His investigation into criminal activity by America’s largest abortion provider utilized standard investigative journalism techniques, those applied regularly by news outlets across the country.” “David’s findings revealed practices so abhorrent that the United States Congress issued criminal referrals for Planned Parenthood, and numerous states and elected officials have moved to strip it of funding,” continued Breen. “Rather than face up to its heinous doings, Planned Parenthood chose to persecute the person who exposed it. I am fully confident that when this case has run its course, justice will prevail, and David will be vindicated.”)

— Police report reveals new details on Naperville Buffalo Wild Wings racist incident – Terrell Brown
https://abc7chicago.com/society/police-report-reveals-new-details-on-naperville-buffalo-wild-wings-racist-incident/5696571/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Reverend Jesse Jackson is working with the victims of a racist incident at a Naperville Buffalo Wild Wings to get corporate commitments to avoid a boycott of the chain. . .There are now threats of a national boycott if Buffalo Wild Wings doesn’t make improvements. Jackson said he and Rainbow PUSH Coalition will stand with the families to come up with a path forward. He is looking for commitments from the company to stave off a boycott. “Not only that the family get the proper apology that they deserve, but more than that,” Jackson said. “Not only is equal treatment at stake but equal access to franchises and construction. We cannot just be customers, we must be partners in the process.” Buffalo Wild Wings said the company has been in touch with the families and the governor, and is implementing new anti-racism policies in hiring and management practices and welcomes constructive feedback. Apologies alone at this point won’t be enough. “Because that would not have been sufficient for Dr. King as it related to Miss Rosa Parks getting an apology from the bus company,” said Bishop Tavis Grant. “We need systematic constructive change. The roots out uproots racism at its very core.” Jackson stressed he wants to avoid a boycott. Buffalo Wild Wings said 22 percent of its franchises are minority-owned, and by 2020 their largest franchise will be African-American owned. The company has 1,200 restaurants, and operates around the world.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: According to the police report, a man with a swastika tattoo and his female acquaintance told police they had been regulars at the restaurant for the last two to three years, visiting almost every Saturday to watch college football and hockey. The couple had been sitting at a table for four in the restaurant for about two hours when staff seated the group of 18 directly behind them, the police report said. Both the man and woman told investigators they never spoke with any of the members of the large group nor did they ask employees to move the group. The woman told police she pulled their table 5 to 10 inches away from the group so servers could move more freely between the tables. According to police reports, the man told an investigator that Buffalo Wild Wings employees “had heard him make racist jokes and comments in the past.” As a result, some members of the staff “took it upon themselves to tell the large group of (redacted) that they needed to move due to (redacted) being a racist.” . . . One employee told police “the couple has made several negative comments in the past about black people.” A restaurant manager told police that after the Oct. 26 incident, several employees reported past inappropriate conduct from the couple. The manager said he had been unaware of the previous conduct. “If someone other than a Caucasian employee would bring them food, (redacted) would refuse the food and send it back to the kitchen,” the police report stated. One of the employees, in a written statement to police, blamed miscommunication by the staff for the drama on Oct. 26. Marshall said authorities found no evidence of a hate crime and no charges were filed as a result of the incident. A member of the Buffalo Wild Wings corporate communications team previously said the company fired two employees involved in the incident and banned the man employees identified as racist from its restaurants.)

On CNN alone, Anderson Cooper is the son of One Percenter Gloria Vanderbilt and was a CIA college recruit for good measure. Chris Cuomo is the son of former politician Mario Cuomo and brother of current New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Among the network’s “senior advisors” are former Barack Obama aide David Axelrod and former White House Fellow under Hillary Clinton Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper started out as press secretary for Democratic congressional candidate Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, and worked for a public relations firm run by Jimmy Carter’s press secretary, Jody Powell, as well as Handgun Control Inc. Several among CNN’s on-air “talent” sit on the boards of big corporations, an all-too-common practice this author exposed in the book Survival of the Richest. Not only do these positions provide lucrative “part-time” income, they represent a clear conflict of interest.)

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/13/nyregion/peter-king-long-island-republicans.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Democrats now outnumber Republicans on Long Island, a once unthinkable development in a traditional conservative stronghold where voters backed every Republican presidential candidate, bar two, from 1900 to 1988. . .The shift mirrors a nationwide trend of historically moderate or conservative suburban voters now slowly tipping left. Just last week, those voters helped flip the Virginia statehouse, ousted the last Republicans in a Philadelphia-area County Council and appear to have unseated the Republican governor of Kentucky. The pattern, if it holds, could prove decisive not only for the 2020 presidential election, but also for the makeup of each party’s base for decades.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Commissioner Tim Elliott, R-Glen Ellyn, said the downside is people have to lose money at the machines in order for the county to receive any money in video gambling taxes. “The revenue we would receive as a county is a fraction of what our residents would lose,” Elliot said, estimating gamers would have to lose a total of $5.5 million for the county to take in $276,000. “That’s not economic development. That is the opposite of economic development.” . . . Board member Pete DiCianni, R-Elmhurst, requested the vote be tabled so that people would have a chance to weigh in, but other commissioners countered that the item was on the agenda and the public had notice of the meeting. DiCianni, who also suggested letting voters decide if the ban should be lifted, said allowing video gambling in unincorporated areas would put more pressure on municipalities that have banned it.)

Larsen said he has seen the negative impacts of gambling. And while lifting the ban will generate revenue for the county, he said, “not all revenue is good revenue.” “I don’t think it’s right for DuPage County,” he said. Elliott said he’s concerned that lifting the ban will create problems for businesses in municipalities that prohibit video gambling. “The two largest municipalities in my district — Wheaton and Glen Ellyn — have banned video gaming,” Elliott said. “What are you going to do to them when you allow video gaming in every unincorporated area that borders them?”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Since his exit from politics, the GOP has had to change direction. The party hopes its grassroots fundraising campaign, called Lincoln Legion, will raise funds the old-fashioned way. Hackler says 92 percent of all donations in 2019 have been of $100 or less. How it’s playing out: The party raised $36,405 during the most recent reporting period that ended Sept. 30, according to the State Board of Elections. That’s up from $19,000 in donations the previous three months. Republicans have $106,369 cash on hand — up from $88,412 at the end of June. The House Republican Organization has $417,006 cash on hand; the Republican State Senate Campaign Committee has $214,986 cash on hand; and House Minority Leader Jim Durkin has $1.1 million on hand. Those are small-fry numbers compared to the Democratic Party of Illinois, which has $819,289 cash on hand. Sure, there are more Dems in Illinois, but the differences are stark. Friends of Michael Madigan has $7.1 million, the Democratic Majority has $4 million, and the 13th Ward Organization, where Madigan holds sway, has $1.8 million. Pritzker isn’t the only reason Dem fundraising outpaces the GOP. There’s been an eroding of Republican support in the affluent suburbs. Call it the Trump effect, says Democratic political consultant Scott Kennedy. “The 2018 Democratic fundraising success has largely been attributed to a higher level of enthusiasm among Democratic voters but the number of check-writing affluent suburbanites who switched from Republican to Democrat in the Trump era likely also played a role,” he told Playbook. “If Illinois Republicans are going to rebound, they’ll need to reverse that trend.”)
