The answers to those questions should by now be well-known not only by the IRP SCC members, but a) by all the chairmen of the Republican county, township, and ward organizations in Illinois and b) by all the Republican Precinct Committeemen/Captains in Illinois. This is especially true because IRP SCC members are not elected by Republican voters in Illinois, but by Republican Precinct Committeemen outside of Cook County and by Township and Ward Committeemen in Cook County. All Republicans in Illinois should know by now, but do not know what positions the IRP Chairmen candidates have on Trump, Kinzinger, etc.)

There are those who want to censure him. There’s people wanting to know what the state party is going to do about it,” said former Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar, who represents the 11th Congressional District near Kinzinger’s 16th District on the state GOP central committee. The schism in the state GOP mirrors what’s happening with Republicans nationally as the party struggles to move forward even as many of its voters continue to back Trump and believe the November election was stolen from him. . .Kinzinger’s recent views and actions toward Trump, his supporters and the majority of his party have elevated his national stature, earning him cable-news interviews and profiles in The Washington Post and The Atlantic. The congressman was the subject of some discussion at a GOP State Central Committee meeting last weekend. “I think the party majority are kind of disappointed. I mean, the one thing I’ve heard most from Republicans over the years since Reagan is the old 11th Commandment,” Claar said of the former president’s admonishment to not speak ill of fellow Republicans. Claar accused Kinzinger of causing upheaval in the party to no clear end. “What is the point? Why are you elevating this thing into regional if not national prominence? What purpose are you serving here? You’re further pointing out the division in the party,” Claar said. . .Claar supported Trump and even co-hosted a fundraiser for him at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. That’s where the state GOP leaders were supposed to meet Saturday until a predicted snowstorm pushed off the date to Feb. 6. But he said Illinois Republicans should take a wait-and-see attitude on the party’s future and whether it should continue to align itself with the former president. “Let’s just leave it alone and see how it plays out,” Claar said. He said if the party does decide to speak out on Kinzinger he would oppose any effort to censure the congressman for his conduct, a course taken by GOP party leaders in some states against congressional members who voted for impeachment. “It serves no purpose to have headlines that say ‘Republican state party censures congressman.’ That would just give it more legs,” Claar said. “I think it would be better to just issue an observation of the reality that a congressman can say what he wants and it’s up to his constituency to decide whether they like it or not.” . . . With the support of our residents, I made the decision that I would run for another term,” Urlacher said in a statement to Playbook. Urlacher, the brother of former Bears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher, was among 73 people pardoned or commuted by Trump during his final hours in office. A federal indictment had charged that Urlacher and nine others ran an offshore sports gambling ring that raked in millions of dollars from hundreds of Chicago-area gamblers. Urlacher was charged with conspiracy and running an illegal gambling business. With an indictment looming over him, Urlacher didn’t file to run for a third term. That changed after Trump’s pardon. Urlacher’s quick return to politics comes as many Republican lawmakers nationwide shed their concerns about Trump’s role in inciting the attack on the U.S. Capitol. “My position is unpaid, and I look forward to a positive campaign, earning the votes of residents, and serving for another term,” Urlacher said in his statement. The company was Apple, and the advertisement was a defining moment that distinguished Apple as a company willing to go against the grain and rescue humanity from conformity. The ad had been inspired by George Orwell’s 1984 and featured a woman escaping police pursuit, running through a movie theater. She runs to the front of the theater and throws a hammer through a screen portraying a man’s face meant to represent Big Brother. As the camera pans to the audience, fully in shock from the movie screen’s explosion, the commercial concludes with black text that reads: “On January 24, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh.
