They stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, or American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member. They stress that my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. They stress that my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. They stress that my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

NEW YORK POST
— Want more skilled workers? Create them – Jonathon Trugman (DIERSEN: My Democrat superiors in the federal government wasted what  I learned when I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32. My Democrat GAO superiors wasted the knowledge that I had from working for IRS for almost 9 years, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880.)
https://nypost.com/2018/07/07/want-more-skilled-workers-create-them/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: And there’s another wonderful solution: Invest in the future of your business while at the same time investing in the future of your employees. Yes, training is expensive, especially for the highest-skill jobs. And yes, it can run into the tens of thousands of dollars in certain cases. But in exchange for the training, you could require a commensurate commitment. For example, if you need to hire welders, and you can’t find any that meet your qualifications, advertise that you “will train” or “will pay for certification.” You will be likely to attract a good number of long-term unemployed looking to retrain for the modern workforce. By sending them to vocational school with a formal agreement to come work for the company upon certification and tuition reimbursement or direct payment, you are forging a long-lasting connection between your company and a person who could use a little help. So let’s stop all this corporate complaining how hard it is to find qualified workers. The solutions are simple: Offer more pay, and/or more or flexible hours. And offer training in exchange for a commitment from people who will grow your firm.)

THE HILL
— Hysteria about the Supreme Court vacancy isn’t about abortion — it’s about reparations – JAMES GAGLIANO (DIERSEN: Who should pay the price of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion? My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that it should be me. They stress that I am White, male, old (born in 1948), 100% German national origin, my ancestors have been America for a long time (since 1844), conservative, Republican, Protestant (baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran), draft avoider, and non-poor. How many of the aforesaid terrible demographics do you share with me? In my defense, my ancestors have always lived in northeast Illinois.)
http://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/395945-hysteria-about-supreme-court-vacancy-isnt-about-abortion-its-about
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A progressive court would sense our nation’s sovereign borders differently; immigration issues would be viewed through the prism of globalism. Liberal judges tend to apply pluralistic conditions to their considered opinions. Judicial activism would proliferate in the guise of “righting historical injustices” and, in particular, redressing America’s “original sin” — slavery. If Trump succeeds in appointing a conservative justice, for example, the court effectively would rule against any legislative efforts to have America – meaning the taxpayer – pay some $4.1 trillion to African Americans related to the impact of slavery, as David Horowitz outlines in his 2016 book, “Progressive Racism. ”A liberal Court would see this controversial issue very differently than a conservative Court. And some supporters of reparations already have mapped a way for descendants of slaves to receive some form of compensation. Georgetown University professor and author Michael Eric Dyson has gone so far as to suggest that white Americans — no matter whether their ancestors were slave-owners or not — should maintain an “individual reparations account” as a means of “atonement.” This would involve making donations to African American groups. The Trump administration’s Department of Education already has begun moves to undercut Obama-era policy guidelines to universities to consider race in college admissions if legally possible. Quotas, racial preferences, and the landmark 1978 Supreme Court decision to legalize affirmative action have given way to a far more innocuous, benign term — diversity — and been upheld by the Court as recently as 2016. But the construct — reparations — remains the same. While these “reparations” may be well-intended, they penalize Americans whose ancestors played no role in slavery, in order to compensate Americans who were never enslaved. If the Supreme Court’s ideological majority flipped, future generations would be left to foot the bill.)

— The unemployed are a wasted asset – Paul A. London, Washington (DIERSEN: I have been unemployed since 1997 when I was 49 years old, and before that, the federal government underemployed me. I earned a) job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32. The federal government would not have wasted my career if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a female, and/or a veteran. I should write a book about those who have done the most to waste what I learned a) working for IRS for almost 9 years, b) earning an MBA from Loyola, c) passing the CPA examination on my first attempt, d) earning a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul e) passing the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt, f) earning a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT, and g) working for GAO for almost 18 years.)

In today’s dollars, I earned $45,703/year (GS-7 Step 1) when I was 22 and $91,880/year (GS-12 Step 5) when I was 30. According to Money Magazine’s February 1978 article on me, in today’s dollars, at the end of 1977, my net worth was $199,615 of which $27,354 was my Civil Service Retirement System contributions.)
http://www.thisisinsider.com/money-goals-to-hit-by-35-that-are-actually-achievable-2018-7
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Chances are, you’ve seen the advice floating around that advises 35-year-olds to have twice their annual salary in savings if they plan to retire by 67 “and live a similar lifestyle.” If you are 35 years old and you have just one year’s annual salary shored up, congratulations a million times over — you’re well ahead of the game. In 2017, the median salary for Americans aged 35 to 44 was $50,752 annually, based on figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By contrast, the Federal Reserve found that the same age demographic had a median $5,000 in a savings account. All Americans, on average, had just over $33,766 saved, and one-third had $0 saved for retirement in 2016. Obviously, the double-your-salary-by-35 figure isn’t realistic for many working people in the U.S. — especially those in their mid-thirties.)

WALL STREET JOURNAL
— FRONT PAGE TOP OF FOLD WITH GRAPHIC: In This Economy, Quitters Are Winning – David Harrison and Eric Morath (DIERSEN: Beyond outrageously, in Diersen v. GAO, my Democrat GAO superiors argued that they did nothing to get me to take their early retirement “offer” in 1997 when I was 49 years old. But in fact, they made it extremely clear to me that if I did not take their “offer,” they would a) make my life a living hell and b) constructively, if not actually, demote me. They told me that if I did not take their “offer,” they would assign me to work for my subordinates. All my subordinates were Democrat minorities and/or Democrat females who were younger than me and who had an extremely low opinion of me and of those who share my demographics. They hinted/implied that they would give me performance expectations and performance appraisals that would be even more unfair. They hinted/implied that they might do less to destroy me if I would a) dump my 9 years of experience auditing federal financial industry regulators and b) dump my 1997 master’s degree in financial markets and trading from IIT and try to get assigned to a different audit group.)

Within three months, she landed a job as a grant writer at Southern Bancorp Community Partners, snagging a 14% raise, a faster pace at work and an easy seven-minute commute. “I knew I could do more,” Ms. Enoch said. (FROM THE ARTICLE: According to a Bankrate survey released in March, most Americans fail to save an adequate amount of their income. While most financial advisors recommend that people save 15% or more of what they earn, just 16% of respondents to Bankrate’s survey were heeding this advice. By comparison, 19% weren’t saving a red cent, 21% were putting away 1% to 5% of their earnings, and another 25% were saving 6% to 10% of their income. In another context, essentially two-thirds of Americans are saving nothing or very little, thusly putting their retirement in jeopardy.)

ANSWER: I included a link in a GOPUSA ILLINOIS email to an article by Tom Roeser in the Chicago Sun-Times that called for Bill Brady to withdraw so that the conservative vote would not be split and Jim Oberweis could defeat Judy Baar Topinka in the 2006 Illinois Republican gubernatorial primary. — Where is the Republican primary strength in your township? It definitely is in the west side of DuPage County’s Milton Township. In the March 20, 2018 Republican primary, of the township’s 130 precincts, of its 73 precincts on its west side, 40 were RED (between 35.5% and 17.8% of registered voters cast Republican ballots), 19 were YELLOW (between 17.6% and 13.2%), and 14 were BLUE (between 13.2% and 1.1%). Of its 57 precincts on its east side, only 3 were RED (between 35.5% and 17.8%), 25 were YELLOW (between 17.6% and 13.2%), and 29 were BLUE (between 13.2% and 1.1%). – Dave Diersen

What percent of those in your neighborhood, in your precinct, in your municipality, in your township/ward, in your county, and in Illinois are anti-Trump, anti-Protestant, anti-conservative, anti-patriotic, anti-Republican, anti-American, anti-White, anti-male, anti-older people, anti-rich people, anti-gun owners, anti-German Americans, anti-draft avoiders, and/or anti-those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time? In my precinct, in the 2016 general election, 211 voted for Clinton while only 137 voted for Trump. In the 2016 primary election, 93 voted for Kasich while only 21 voted for Trump. However, in the March 20 primary election, 68 voted for Ives, while only 43 voted for Rauner, and only 15 of Milton Township’s 130 precincts had a higher percentage Republican turnout – 122 (22.2%) of the precinct’s 504 registered voters cast Republican ballots. Further, the precincts to the east, southeast, southwest, and west all had high Republican turnouts in the March 20 primary election. Jeanne Ive’s Precinct 65 to the east had a 24.9% turnout, Robert Jacobsen’s Precinct 25 where Roskam lives to the southeast had a 24.1% Republican turnout, Beth Tatro’s Precinct 130 to the southwest had a 33.5% Republican turnout, and Ron Menna’s Precinct 85 to the west had a 21.8% Republican turnout.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: That was made clear during last weekend’s Republican Party of Iowa state convention, attended by roughly 1,200 party activists, leaders and elected officials. State party chairman Jeff Kaufmann devoted much of his remarks to the campaign for governor, but also rallied the crowd to express their support for the president. Kaufmann asked the crowd to show whether they support Trump, and nearly everyone in the building stood and cheered. “Keep it up, President Trump,” Kaufmann yelled during his typically fiery speech. Kaufmann told the crowd he realizes some of Trump’s tweets “make you pause,” but said Trump must use Twitter to communicate to his supporters.)

— Trump Valiantly Tried to Save America – Ilana Mercer
https://townhall.com/columnists/ilanamercer/2018/06/23/trump-valiantly-tried-to-save-america-n2493448
(FROM THE ARTICLE: By now most Americans, for or against, get the idea. All an individual or family need do to live in America, and off the avails of the American taxpayer, is to arrive at an approved port of entry and “lodge a legal claim to stay.” That’s it. The same understanding animates an entire, parasitical industry that has arisen to coach the claimants in their claims-making. The refugee and illegal-migrant racket sprung-up on the backs of the American people is Third World cronyism at its best. “The Trump administration plans to pay a Texas nonprofit nearly half a billion dollars, this year, to care for immigrant children who were detained crossing the U.S. border illegally, reports Bloomberg.” Did you vote for that? Brazen border-crossers “rarely hide from border agents,” for they know the rules of the game are that there aren’t any rules. Not for them, not for the lawless. The law-abiding pay. The profits from the immigration industry, material and political, are privatized; the costs are socialized. It has taken a president, in the person of Donald J. Trump, and his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, to expose for all to see a shameful, likely irreversible, fact: American birthright has been frittered away for a mess of pottage. In exchange for throwing America open to The World, Americans get crime, poverty, unemployment, depressed wages; environmental despoliation; overburdened public services, and zero comity and harmony across their communities. Or, more like hate. For to oppose this transformative political give-away is to be branded a hater and be hounded, at home, by a Fifth Column of values-enforcers. There’s no finessing it. This selling of the patrimony and heritage of Americans is theft, plain and simple. There is no hiding it. Peddling of stolen goods for political favors is the handiwork of political representatives, of legislators. Through legislative sleight-of-hand and international treaty making American politicians have incrementally robbed a people of their national and territorial sovereignty, as well as their shared identity.)

— Republicans ignore Trump, keep pushing to pass immigration reform – Susan Ferrechio (DIERSEN: If you claim to be a Republican, but you oppose E-Verify, you shout that you are a RINO who has been bought off by employers who want cheap labor. If you claim to be Republican, but you want “a more inclusive and easier pathway to citizenship for Dreamers,” you shout that you are a Democrat.)
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/congress/republicans-ignore-trump-keep-pushing-to-pass-immigration-reform
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Republicans say negotiations now center on whether to add E-Verify and an immigrant agriculture program into the legislation, and many are hoping for a vote next week. Many conservatives have been clamoring for the bill to include a provision mandating employers use E-Verify to ensure new hires are legal. “It might be a difference maker,” Cole said. Meanwhile, an agriculture or “guest worker” program would attract votes from lawmakers whose districts rely on immigrant farm workers. . .The 41 GOP “no” votes were cast mostly by moderates who wanted a more inclusive and easier pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, who came illegally as children. The measure was authored by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. It would provide legal status for about 700,000 Dreamers and offered a much more difficult pathway to citizenship. Conservatives say the leadership should simply take the Goodlatte bill and make a few changes to attract moderates, such as expanding the pathway to citizenship to all 1.8 million people who fit the Dreamer category. The Goodlatte measure, which is co-authored by Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, includes both E-Verify and a guest worker program. It ends chain migration, the diversity visa lottery program, and authorizes border wall funding.)

https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-avenue/2018/06/21/us-white-population-declines-and-generation-z-plus-is-minority-white-census-shows/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: he U.S. Census Bureau’s release of race and age statistics for 2017 points to two noteworthy milestones about the nation’s increasingly aging white and growing diverse population. First, for the first time since the Census Bureau has released these annual statistics, they show an absolute decline in the nation’s white non-Hispanic population—accelerating a phenomenon that was not projected to occur until the next decade. Second, the new numbers show that for the first time there are more children who are minorities than who are white, at every age from zero to nine. This means we are on the cusp of seeing the first minority white generation, born in 2007 and later, which perhaps we can dub Generation “Z-Plus.”)

It’s been more than three months since the primary, and just when candidates want to turn their attention to the general election, Rauner is still dealing with his fractured party. On WJBC, Rauner once again claimed he’s “reached out” to Ives, something he’s said before that was found not to be true. Who else is Rauner calling to reunite the party? None other than Rauner’s previous headache and Roy Moore’s biggest backer, Dick Uihlein. “It seems that time doesn’t heal all wounds as Bruce Rauner has failed to put his party back together after three months,” said DGA Illinois Communications Director Sam Salustro. “It’s clear Jeanne Ives and her supporters have not forgiven Rauner for his lies and failures.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., voted against a hard-line immigration bill on Thursday that failed on a 193-231 roll call, siding with Democrats as his Democratic rival, Sean Casten, is making a major appeal to Hispanic voters. Casten campaign manager Michael Garton told the Chicago Sun-Times that they project the Hispanic vote in the west suburban 6th Congressional District seat to be between five and eight percent, a big enough bloc to be a factor in the high- profile battle. Garton told me that the Casten campaign is “specifically targeting the Hispanic community,” and has been running immigration related ads on Facebook and websites. There were 193 Republicans who voted for HR4760, introduced by Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. ANALYSIS Roskam was one of 41 Republicans to vote no, along with 190 Democrats. There were no Democratic yes votes. Roskam most often votes with the GOP majority. The other six Illinois House Republicans – Randy Hultgren; Adam Kinzinger; John Shimkus; Rodney Davis and Michael Bost – voted for the Goodlatte legislation. . .Roskam heads into the summer election fight with immigration a Casten priority issue, with about 2,900 Dreamers in the district, according to Garton.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A new study finds that Illinois workers need to make more than $20 an hour just to afford a decent two-bedroom rental home. “Out of Reach 2018: The High Cost of Housing” was released this month as a national study localized by Housing Action Illinois. Working from a statewide average of $1,058 a month for rent and utilities for a two-bedroom apartment, the study projects that a resident spending the generally accepted 30 percent of income on housing would need to make a “housing wage” of $20.34 an hour to afford it. According to Sharon Legenza, executive director of Housing Action Illinois, it casts in relief how unaffordable it is to eke out a living at the minimum wage.)

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/06/22/government-can-more-easily-tell-fed-workers-re-fired-for-poor-performance-it-s-about-time.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: At the same time, I realized a few bad actors have given the federal workforce a bad reputation. Of course, “few” is a relative term. In a federal civilian workforce of 2.1 million, a “few” can equate to tens of thousands of nonproductive workers. And their impact is not only wasteful – it’s a real disservice to their hard-working colleagues. That’s why I produced a series of OPM reports that explored ways to attract high performers to the federal workforce. And it’s why I think President Trump’s recent action is so important. On May 25, the President issued three executive orders that will do much to protect outstanding federal workers from the comparatively few “bad apples” in their midst. One order holds nonproductive workers more accountable for unsatisfactory performance and speeds up the disciplinary process. This fixes what has become a seemingly never-ending appeals process that has made it extremely difficult to remove those who are guilty of poor performance or misconduct.)

They stress that before that, a) my GAO superiors gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take an $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980; b) my IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974; and c) my Democrat Post Office superiors would stress that they forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)

LIFE SITE NEWS
— 48 conservative groups demand media, tech companies disavow Southern Poverty Law Center – Calvin Freiburger (DIERSEN: Of course, I would have signed this letter if I had been asked. Since 2000, I have led a conservative group. It is called “GOPUSA ILLINOIS Email Readers.” However, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member, GAO employee, etc. They stress the conservative leaders in Illinois who have never come to my defense. The only legitimate reason to read GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails is to get information to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance the Illinois Republican Party platform.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: 48 conservative organizations joined forces Wednesday to call on governments, corporations, and media to cut ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), in light of the group’s recent surrender in a major defamation case. SPLC’s ostensible mission is to monitor hate groups, but is notorious for applying the “hate” label to mainstream Christian, pro-family, and conservative groups. Earlier this week, it admitted defeat in a defamation suit brought by the British-based Quilliam Foundation. SPLC issued a public apology for labeling the group “anti-Muslim extremists” and agreed to pay $3.4 million. The new letter, signed by representatives of the Family Research Council, the Ruth Institute, Liberty Counsel, Eagle Forum, and more — all of whom have been “maligned, defamed, and otherwise harmed” by SPLC’s “groundless epithets” — cites the settlement as the latest reason for disavowing SPLC.)

WASHINGTON POST
— Rebuking Trump, Senate panel okays federal pay raise, but House plans big hit on pensions – Joe Davidson (DIERSEN: I should write a book about my critics/opponents who have painted themselves the most strongly as being a) anti-federal employee and b) anti-federal retiree.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2018/06/21/rebuking-trump-senate-panel-okays-federal-pay-raise-as-house-plans-big-hit-on-pensions/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In the House, Budget Committee Republicans proposed taking from federal workers by cutting $145 billion from their pensions over 10 years — that’s $1.5 billion more than Trump wanted. . .Greater contributions by individuals with no increase in benefits amounts to a cut in compensation. Creating parity with private-sector employers that have already whittled away or ended pensions is the opposite of progress. If parity is the goal, encourage the corporate world to offer better retirement. . .Womack adopted recommendations by a 2010 panel informally known as the Simpson-Bowles Commission. In addition to the points mentioned in the budget document, the commission also recommended reducing pensions by basing them on the highest five years of earning for new employees, instead of the highest three, which is now the case. The budget plan also calls on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to find $32 billion in savings, which likely would result in another hit on federal employees’ wallets. With recommendations like these, federal employee organizations are preparing for a fierce fight against the House GOP budget plan.)
— Why do we need more people in this country, anyway? – Michael Anton (DIERSEN: All my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes want cheap labor. They despise lowly workers like I was 1964-1997. I did yard work and delivered newspapers 1962-1964; washed dishes 1964-1966; cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966; delivered mail 1966-1969; worked on an automobile assembly line and as a security guard in 1970; sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971; pumped gasoline 1971-1972; collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980; and audited federal agencies 1980-1997.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: After at least two decades of wage stagnation and even decline, now that we’ve finally reached the nirvana of full employment (and who knows how long it will last), why not take advantage of this tight labor market to raise wages across the board? Especially for the working and middle classes that got nowhere or even lost ground during the housing, finance and tech booms of recent years? Just about everyone knows the answer: because the business community does not like tight labor markets and the concomitant necessity to raise wages. That’s bad for the bottom line. The solution? More workers! And so the Chamber of Commerce annex — a.k.a. Capitol Hill Republicans — dutifully attempt to do their donors’ bidding at the expense of their voters’ interests. . .It’s clear what the oligarchs get out of an endless influx of cheap labor. What the Democratic Party gets is also clear: more voters, and with them the tantalizing possibility of turning the country as irreversibly blue as Democratic policies have already done to New York, California and many other states.)
