— A dozen hikers busted while police escort Governor Rauner through Starved Rock Despite a busy holiday weekend, there were no falls to report at Starved Rock State Park. Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire says they did hand out 27 tickets counting Saturday and Sunday at the park. Four of them were for having small amounts of pot while the rest of the tickets were either for alcohol or being caught off the trails. Governor Bruce Rauner and his wife hiked about five miles at Starved Rock Saturday according to Wire. While walking with the governor, police nabbed a dozen other hikers for being off the trails.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “It could all come down to Colorado.” That’s the latest conventional wisdom from presidential poll watchers. But it may not be legal American citizens in my adopted home state who choose the next commander in chief. Instead, it could very well be foreign noncitizens voting illegally in the Rocky Mountains — and in other crucial swing states — who seal our country’s fate. Former Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler identified nearly 5,000 noncitizens in Colorado who voted in the 2010 general election. Gessler’s office uncovered upwards of 12,000 noncitizens registered to vote. Liberal groups who oppose stronger election system protections attacked him for trying to verify citizenship status — because God forbid public officials sworn to uphold the rule of law actually do anything to enhance the integrity of our election system! Compounding the problem: The militant immigration expansionist group Mi Familia Vota, connected with the Service Employees International Union, has ramped up its efforts in swing states to facilitate naturalization and registration of Latino voters who will promote the open-borders agenda at the polls. Another rare defender of American sovereignty, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, fought in court for his state’s right to require citizenship documents from people who register to vote at motor vehicle offices. Last month, a federal appeals court struck down the Kansas law despite the U.S. Constitution’s conferral of responsibility for determining who may vote to states. In a scene straight out of “Alice in Wonderland,” Kobach faced a contempt hearing for battling against those who hold contempt for truly free and fair elections. He was forced to sign an agreement with the ACLU allowing more than 18,000 motor-voter registrants to cast ballots this November while litigation continues. Last year, undercover investigative journalist James O’Keefe and his Project Veritas team blew the whistle on North Carolina political operatives who encouraged people to vote even if they were noncitizens. Like Kobach, O’Keefe endures attacks on his efforts to ensure clean elections by grievance-mongers screaming about phony voter “disenfranchisement.” Never mind that a nonpartisan study in 2014 from Old Dominion University concluded “that 6.4 percent of noncitizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of noncitizens voted in 2010.” Put on your shocked faces: These illegal noncitizen voters overwhelmingly supported Democrats. And their votes were enough to tilt the presidential election results in North Carolina to President Obama, along with handing over “Democratic victories in congressional races including a critical 2008 Senate race (Al Franken’s victory in Minnesota) that delivered for Democrats a 60-vote filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.” The ACLU and other left-wing groups sabotaging voter integrity laws see no voter fraud, hear no voter fraud and speak no voter fraud. Thanks to their efforts, voter ID laws have been tossed in Texas, Wisconsin and North Carolina. Committed to flooding the voting rolls with every last potential Democrat constituent, their operational motto is: No unqualified voter left behind. But J. Christian Adams, a former Justice Department election lawyer in the Voting Rights Section, has exposed the systemic assault on the election process at every level by activist groups funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, including: –Blocking citizenship verification. –Automatic voter registration of welfare recipients without local verification checks. –Massive foreign language ballot expansion. –Obstruction of efforts to include state qualification instructions on voter registration forms. This past week, the Public Interest Law Foundation uncovered thousands of foreign aliens registered to vote in swing states Virginia and Pennsylvania thanks to the federal Motor Voter law. It’s the tip of the iceberg because the studies include just a small sample of counties. Oh, Virginia voters, you’ll be thrilled to know that your top election officials are now trying to cover up the true extent of the scandal. PILF noted that the commissioner of the Virginia Department of Elections issued a written guidance to local election officials instructing them “not to respond to our requests for records pertaining to non-citizen voters.” In Pennsylvania, election officials are so apathetic and incompetent that even when aliens begged to get off the voter rolls because they had never registered to vote in the first place, they were ignored. But her hardships are not the result of slavery from years past – as her professors and peers like to insist – but instead from the current political persecution she says she faces for being a conservative on a liberal college campus. “I have been told since day one that I would not succeed without the demeaning benefits of affirmative action,” says Richer, 18. “One of my professors actually told me that it’s offensive to say that everyone can achieve the American dream.” Statements like these are common among the liberal academia, who teach that “systemic oppression” and “institutionalized racism” are the most significant factors of whether or not one will achieve success in life. But because Richer doesn’t but into it, she’s mocked and ridiculed and blackballed. “One of my classes is entirely structured around the so-called belief in ‘white privilege,’” she told The College Fix, referring to a humanities elective. “Professors shame white students from speaking up against it, and whenever I do they look at me like I’m a traitor.” According to Richer, a political science major, such classes victimize women of color and force other students to justify their current “oppression.” In an attempt to balance the political climate of her campus, Richer took a position as the secretary of a proposed chapter of the conservative Young Americans for Freedom group. But late last month, student government leaders refused to allow the club to officially be recognized on campus, accusing it of being too similar to the College Republicans. “I was disgusted by the hostility I felt for daring to give a voice to conservatives on campus,” she says. “College is advertised as a place for your mind to grow, but I didn’t realize how much of a lie it was until I saw firsthand how these ‘student leaders’ attempt to dictate how students think on campus.”)

The U of M College Republicans group painted a mural yesterday in the group’s designated spot along the Washington Avenue Bridge. Dozens of student groups paint murals along the inside walls of the pedestrian level of the bridge every fall. This group’s read in part “Build The Wall,” which refers to presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. The sign was later vandalized with the words “Stop White Supremacy.” Multicultural groups who did not support the vandalism later gathered to protest what they called “anti-immigrant” hate speech. “There’s freedom of speech but then there’s hate speech. It’s one thing to be conservative and it’s another thing to be saying these things that are clearly xenophobic and targeting specific groups of people,” Guillermo Perez said. Perez is a member of Sigma Lambda Beta, a Latino-based multicultural fraternity that happens to have the panel next to the College Republicans. “I was really angry, angry because it’s an attack to my people because I am Mexican,” Perez said. The group responded using its own panel, which said, “Building bridges, not walls.” “We’re trying to seek, at the very least, an apology and recognition that what they did was wrong,” Perez said. U of M President Eric Kaler said while some may find the initial message offensive it is protected speech and should not have been vandalized. He released a statement saying: “During the annual ‘Paint the Bridge’ event, an opportunity for registered student groups and University departments to promote their groups by painting a panel on the Washington Avenue Bridge, one panel assigned to a student group has received attention. The panel includes the phrase from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, ‘Build the wall.’ While this is protected as free, political speech, we have heard from members of our community who find the phrase hurtful, offensive, anti-immigrant, and anti-Latinx. “People in our community may disagree with the sentiment expressed. However, while the University values free speech, the subsequent vandalism of the panel is not the way to advance a conversation. “The University of Minnesota supports a campus climate that welcomes all members of our community and our values of equity and diversity, but that also ensures the free flow of ideas, even those that are offensive to some. (FROM THE ARTICLE: According to the Economic Policy Institute, a left-leaning Washington think tank, the average 1 percenter family in McLean County earned $679,124 three years ago (the latest data available), while the remaining 99 percent earned an average of $51,440. That means a 1 percenter here makes about 13 times more than the rest of us earn, on average. That ratio puts McLean County pretty much in the middle of a ranking of the nation’s 3,064 counties. Somewhat comforting, I think, especially in the context of some other EPI data. For instance, McLean County’s 1 percenters take in 11.8 percent of the income earned here. That compares with 26 percent in Lake County — the high water mark in Illinois — and the national average of 20.1 percent. The latter two numbers are stunners. A local figure that may trouble egalitarians more is that 41 percent of McLean County’s moolah is made by the top 10 percent of earners. Another way to say that: 10 percent of local households take in 41 cents of every dollar earned here. Yet it’s 57 cents in Lake County, and about 48 cents in all of Illinois and the entire nation. Again, striking numbers. Do you aspire to be a 1 percenter in McLean County? Your family would have to earn at least $365,000 to make the cut — about $24,000 less than the national average. The best (and fresher) news comes from the U.S. Census Bureau. Last year, it says, nearly 5,700 McLean County residents climbed out of poverty. Unfortunately 19,116 McLean County residents are still classified as poor. That’s 11.5 percent of our population — a big number, to be sure, but 3.4 percentage points better than two years ago.)
